Okay but I can’t stop thinking about girl!Jake (Jake Bradley and ice and mav all as women, everyone else can be canon gender I guees), fighting tooth and nail to get on the boys football team in high school and killing it on the field and then putting on a cute little sun dress and being all charming country cowgirl esque and all the boys love her and the girls don’t know what to do with her, but she bonds with girls over ‘girly’ things (which she genuinely does love) and with boys about sports and how her brothers taught her to fix cars, and the whole school would fuck her if she let them. But she won’t…
But Jake wants to fly planes, and she can’t do that if she’s out, so she makes out with her gal pals at sleep overs and complains to her best friend Javy. He and her joke that Jake should have been into men so they could be together, but they both are ride or die and understand that their friendship is just as important as any future partners they may have.
Jake falls in love with a woman who’s a little older than their cohort and always wears dumb Hawaiian shirts and has these stupid curls and long long legs. Bradley clearly has some big attachment issues and is incredibly avoidant one minute and then when they’re alone she’s all over Jake. Sure, they have to be careful of DADT, but women are allowed to physical in a way men aren’t, so what gives?? The only person Jake sees Bradley be affectionate with without reservation is Natasha Trace and it makes Jake want to set her own plane on fire. Why can’t Jake and Bradley cuddle in the rec room the way Bradley and Nat do? It would be fine…
So she flies like she’s on fucking fire, just like her hero (and ‘celebrity’ crush) Maverick (one of the first female fighter pilots, one of the best pilots ever) and unknowingly triggers the fuck out of Bradley who pushes her away further. Jake tells Bradley she loves her before graduation, Bradley tells her they have to choose flying or each other, and she doesn’t want to ask that of Jake, so she chose for them. She wants Jake to fly and forget they ever were more than friends.
Javy, being besties with Jake, has no reservations with hitting women in a fist fight, which he makes very clear to Bradley after she breaks Jake’s heart. Bradley ruins the satisfaction by basically saying please hit me and crying all over Javy, who is just too weirded out by measured and detached (when it comes to Jake) Bradley Bradshaw sobbing about how everything always ends and people always die or lie or get torn away and Javy better fucking punch her lights out and promise to make sure Jake is happy and in the sky and he better fucking promise not to mention this conversation to Jake. Javy calls Nat to come get Bradley. He doesn’t punch her in the face like she so desperately wants him to. It seems to earn Javy brownie points with Nat.
Jake doesn’t learn about that conversation for many years. She does learn other things though. DADT ends and her other lifelong hero Admiral Tomaszi ‘Iceman’ Kazansky comes out in the aftermath, as a lesbian (which, duh have you seen that woman’s frosted tipped flat top????). Iceman gets a lot of flack from all ranks, but her achievements speak for themselves and Jake is in total awe. In the release Kazansky spoke of the harm DADT had done her community and her family, and she hoped it was a step forward. She mentioned a partner, and there was a slew of speculation, but Jake was too busy getting laid to give it much thought. She sent Bradley a text, one of solidarity and excitement: “if THE ICEMAN can come out so can we 🎉” Bradley leaves her on read. Jake gets the hint. Etc etc…
I have more weird lesbian brain worms, but idk if I’ll keep going or write this, but HANGSTER AS LESBIANS WHY HAS NO ONE DONE IT????

Every angel has its halo, and the Iceman is no different. Or at least that's what people continue to tell him every time he screws up and Tom calls. Your guardian angel has a little pretty halo with him now, and Pete can't for the love of him understand what they mean. Iceman with a halo? What does that even mean? By the time Ice calls him, the question is already forgotten in favor of sweet talk and an empty promise to never do that again. Empty promises that become gradually less and less empty when Tom stops answering his phone directly. The woman on the other side says Admiral Kazansky is in a meeting, and I get it, Captain Mitchell, but it doesn't change the fact that he is unavailable right now. Maverick forgets about Tom's halo with time as he tries to be less dangerous for himself, and Ice starts answering his calls again. (The second thing takes a week; the first a little over a year and then some.)
Until he meets her, even if he doesn't know who she is yet. Callie Halo Shen is 5'6" of pure rage when she tackles him on the beach, smiling all sharp and dangerous, and whispering that Admiral Kazansky sends his regards like it's some kind of treat or obscure quote he will never get.
(Admiral Kazansky sends his regards and leaves butterfly kisses all over his face before his coffee is even ready in the morning.)
Until it isn't after the mission and Halo is sitting with his guardian angel in the backyard of their house, they're chatting away most of the lunch while everybody can barely look at the man.
"So this is your halo, angel?" he asks, enjoying the way his husband's cheeks still turn red every time he says that.
"Nice to finally meet the man in the photo, Iceman tries to show everyone who comes into his office." She says, calm and profession like the time she was dodging his call from Ice's attention.
"Nice to finally meet you," he answers, shaking her hand before kissing his husband's cheek and whispering "at least she is cool," at which Ice can't help but laugh and kiss him on the mouth.
"Yeah, but nobody's as cool as you, babe."

When i say iceman likes girls i mean that as far as it can extend he loves girly things people mistaken him for a girl constantly cause of his voice and he just has a natural appreciation for all things feminine. yeah sure! again— this isn’t finished and never will be finished, I posted the reasons below. But here are a bunch of snippets from the fem!mav/lesbian charliemav AU from this summer. Would love to hear your thoughts, because politically it gave me some pause! lol.
1. On how mav survives (the central motif of the one-shot is Mav cutting her hair with scissors which is why the emphasis here)
2. On ice (straight icemav will never work because fundamentally ice is a misogynistic cunt)
3. on sex with girly girls (one of life’s greatest pleasures)

7. The end (post Layton mission [mav proving herself by saving ice’s life] and the end of TG86, Mav gearing up to cut her hair again in Charlie’s house)
and here, copy-pasted, were the tags i planned to affix to the charliemav one-shot, which I think explain also why I stopped writing it—maverick is insanely out of character here!

I also stopped writing this one because I could not for the life of me figure out how to write goose, canonically a sexist just like mav and ice. made things difficult and a little awkward

Pianoman
- has his own currency where everything is 100% perfectly indistinguishable from real money except his face is on it. he calls this “PianoBucks”
- the value of Pianobucks varies from 3 bitcoin to 3 dogecoin based entirely on the like/dislike ratio of a comment he made on the CRYPTOLAND youtube video
- his house is the most insane place in the world it is outrageous opulence but it is ALSO busted he has shit like this massive chandelier except it's connected to a light switch that doesn’t work unless you touch the wires together manually and therefore all the exposed wires are out
Doc
- was a prolific serial killer in medical school. terrorized his campus. nobody suspected it was him, in fact a lot of his classmates worried for him because he probably couldn’t defend himself so they’d offer to walk him home from class only to be, for lack of a better word, TUSKed
- has given each of the flags at least one organ from the other ones. each one of them thinks they are the only one this has not happened to
- they made the human centipede based on a real thing he did
- actually gave verlaine the hardest time because of his ability
- when he and albatross get married they have a naked wedding. doc cranks the heat and it’s “strongly requested” that attendees don’t shower for 48 hours before the event. ghastly
Iceman
- he/him butch lesbian I’ll fight you on this
- born into a massively powerful mafia family in italy before a rival group took them all out at the same time. he thought he was the only survivor but his older sister also lived.

- the BEST cook of the whole group his food is DELICIOUS it’s made with love. his cooking is the only thing the flags have all unanimously decided not to make fun of because if he ever stopped doing it for them it would be a huge loss. albatross hears him say something that comes out in a heavy accent and reflexively goes i cooka da meetbol and that's too close to violating the rule and lippmann shoves a silk scarf in his mouth to shut him up
Lippmann
- he starred in a film that had him shooting in a very tight hole in the ground but actually got stuck and panicked, leaving him with severe claustrophobia
- constantly taking TV bit roles where his character gets killed by the mafia because he thinks it’s really really funny
- mcdonalds did a Lippmann Meal once and all the flags piled into the clown car and ordered 10 of them. nary a one failed to do this as obnoxiously as possible btw
Albatross
- GAY has been in love with Doc for uh. forever
- can operate any vehicle ever created but he has exactly zero licenses and in fact the only one of these fucking people who has an actual non forged legal drivers license is iceman who for reasons nobody understands has a CDL
- he puts on horrible reality tv or like hey arnold while he and doc are fucking because doc thinks it’s hot that he has to compete for albatross’s attention
