Contractor Expects Steel to be Laid to Portage Du Fort This Fall.
----
J. P. Mullarkey, contractor for the construction of the section of the Canadian Northern transcontinental railway between Ottawa and Pembroke, began to lay steel easterly from Pembroke two days ago. Before the severely cold weather comes, he says, he will have the steel laid as far as Portage du Fort, a distance of 27 miles.
Before the middle of next month the rails will be laid from Ottawa as far as Chats Falls. Then work on the construction of the two bridges over the Ottawa river, one at Portage du Fort and the other at Chats Falls, will be rushed so that the bridges will be completed early next spring.
The entire section of the road in question has been graded and it is planned to have it ready for operation in the fall of next year. The contractors on the sections from Pembroke to North Bay and from North Bay to the C. N. R. line now in operation from Fort William westward are making good headway with their work. Early in 1915, perhaps before then, the whole line from east to west will be ready for traffic.
The length of the C. N. R. route to Pembroke from Ottawa is 86 miles, 36 shorter than the C. P. R. and 22 shorter than the Grand Trunk.

Okay listen, I completely understand where the shippers are coming from but as an a-spec person I think it would be a hundred times funnier if LQG is aromantic and his loyalty to SQQ is completely platonic but it's so fucking intense that it bleeds to near-devotion. Like, that would be hilarious I think.

I just realized the opening cutscene of TOTK is absolutely hilarious once you know the whole story of the Imprisoning War. Like, they had this big, epic battle, ending with Rauru sacrificing his life to seal Ganondorf away, locking him in place for ten thousand years, all based on the hope that Link would be able to strike him down with the Master Sword in the future. Ganondorf waited there for ten thousand years, expecting an absolutely epic final battle against an incredibly skilled warrior wielding a blade more powerful than Rauru and the other sages combined.
...And when Link shows up, it takes Ganondorf about five seconds to fatally wound him and snap the Master Sword like a fucking toothpick. If Rauru hadn't somehow intervened, that would've been it, Link would have been dead right then and there, battle over, the end.
Can you imagine how fucking disappointed Ganon must've been after that? He was looking forwards to an epic battle, not a five second curbstomp. No wonder his reaction to that whole thing was basically just him going "Wait are you serious, was that it? That was the whole fight? I WAITED TEN THOUSAND YEARS FOR THAT!?"
Ganondorf might've kicked our ass without even trying in the opening, but at least he didn't get to enjoy it.

you know how shidou’s always drawn with these inky demon wings whenever he enters his flow state or does something absolutely monster level genius on the field?
yeah these <3
what if. what if he got those wings tattooed on his back. intense black tendrils stretching along his entire broad frame and hugging the curve of his prominent shoulder blades, jagged dark lines continuing south along the expanse of hard muscle framing his spine, the pointy edge of the devilish wings ending low, low on his back, almost teasingly dipping past the waistband of his shorts worn even lower. i’m actually being so normal about this thanks for asking

"UNKNOWN ASSAILANT CAUGHT," Edmonton Bulletin. March 7, 1913, Page 10.
----
The unknown Italian assailant of P. Blanc, the half-breed teamster from Lac St. Anne, was, late yesterday afternoon, captured by officers of the R.N.W,M.P. some miles north of the scene of the affray. He was brought into Lac St. Anne last night where he will come up for hearing today.
Tuesday afternoon Blanc drove a gang of railroad laborers from Lac St. Anne to a construction camp at the scene of track laying on the C. N.R. Peace River branch. While he was returning home another gang who demanded him to turn around and take them to the camp, which he refused, and in the argument following Blanc was badly cut with a knife and so seriously injured that fears for his recovery are held. Only a very meagre account of the arrest of the alleged assailant was received fast night and nothing is known of the many except that he is an Italian.
