honestly my biggest demons r abt cfoolish and quackity bc that dynamic I feel is so mischaracterized a lot as them being buddy buddy and not like what it actually is like, which is quackity sitting back and letting foolish die so he has a pressure point to push on, a weak point to exploit. foolish is only working with and for quackity for his own perceived benefit (also later bc girly pop has some brain issues around friends and not making enemies and having allies or whatever) not bc he like. likes quackity, just, as a person. him still working for quackity after dream revealing the torture isn't him siding with quackity on that or thinking the torture is a-okay and cool, he very explicitly is not okay with it, but choosing to keep his alliance with quackity because above all else, foolish is motivated by self preservation

i wish more found family fics would explore how complicated and messy the concept of family is. how scary belonging to something can feel when you’ve been alone for so long. how uncomfortable it might be to give up a little of your self sufficiency when you’ve made that such a piece of yourself. so many fics make the biggest barrier to entry learning that the found family won’t hurt the mc but there’s so much more to be explored. maybe they respond violently to comfort and lended hands rather than only eyeing it suspiciously for a bit. maybe the shift in living quarters is so different it’s uncomfortable, even though it’s objectively better.

Symphony of Gods and Dreamers AU/DSMP Rewrite

🟢 DSMP (sorry for bad grammar, this was mostly just me vomiting my ideas onto the post)

My DSMP rewrite makes the world so much bigger and full of life than canon.

The arctic empire from SMP earth exists, hypixel is a whole kingdom, the bear SMP exists and that’s where Niki is from, the wreckage of tales from the SMP locations can be found in the woods, places from fanfics such as the blue valley are very important to the story. The story takes place over a much longer period of time, the L’Manberg revolution alone lasts several years! Dream is like 50! He was an adult before Wilson was even born. Tommy and Tubbo had families before being adopted by Philza, but they were killed by Dream’s armies in their quest to conquer the world. Dream stole the revival book from Kristin decades ago.

Dream is a tyrant and a cult leader with armies and followers dedicated to his mission to control as much of the world as possible. The DreamSMP is a continent that Dream has discovered and, at the beginning of the events of the server, it has small townships spread around the woods that are full of people gathering resources for colonies. The original L’Manberg members were followers of Dream who had begun to question his power.

Las Nevadas is not just one street with some restaurants and a casino! It’s a massive fucking city with hundreds of thousands of citizens, they have communities and schools and farmer’s markets, It’s the first city in the SMP with paved roads! Snowchester is a cosy little college town up north surrounded by mountains. Students from schools in Snowchester and Las Nevadas go on field trips to L’Manberg and Eret’s castle. The center of the SMP is this huge historic town kept in top condition by volunteers dedicated to preserving the history of the land.

Kinoko Kingdom was built by natives of the SMP and can be found deep within the forest. The people of the kingdom have myths and legends of a time when dragons and demons and gods roamed the earth. When Sapnap showed up, being half demon, they worshipped him and made him their ruler.

There is an entire cult that worships DreamXD! every few hundred years XD selects a member of his cult to give godhood to (Techno, Foolish, and Callahan are amongst those selected). DreamXD is older than the universe itself and has witnessed the rise and fall of countless worlds. Several SMP members were gods in their past lives and knew XD personally (some relationships were more positive than others). That’s why XD is so infatuated with George and so hateful of Bbh.

Characters like Puffy, Antfrost, and Sam are just single individuals who are members of entire original species. Ranboo was born a prince in the end but his people were driven out. The nether was accidentally discovered by cultists and legend says that’s where the demons came from.

My vision of the SMP has grown far beyond a Minecraft roleplay. I wish I could tell you everything but that would take way too long to write. For now I’m just focusing on Wilson and the other tropesonas. I can’t possibly talk about every single character and that makes me mad. Maybe in the future I will go into more detail on sbi and DreamXD.

Las Vegas police on Tuesday arrested eight teenagers on murder charges in connection with the death of Jonathan Lewis, a 17-year-old who was pummeled by a mob of his classmates in an alley outside their high school, authorities said.

The eight suspects charged with murder are between 13 and 17 years old, said Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Jason Johansson in a news conference on Tuesday. Police along with the district attorney's office are beginning the process to charge them as adults. Johansson added that there's no evidence indicating the attack was "a hate crime."

On Nov. 1, students from Rancho High School, including Jonathan, met in an alley just across the street from the campus to fight over "stolen wireless headphones and, possibly, a stolen marijuana vape pen," Johansson said. Police believe the items were stolen from Jonathan's friend but once they were all in the alley, it was Jonathan who fought instead.

Johansson said as soon as the first punch was thrown, 10 people swarmed Jonathan, pulled him to the ground and began kicking, punching and stomping him.

After the fight, a passerby found the teenager unconscious in the alley and carried him to the school, where staff performed CPR. First responders rushed him to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, where it was soon determined that he had suffered "non-survivable head trauma," Johansson said. Jonathan died several days later.

Police search for two more suspects, ask public for help

Videos of the incident – called "extremely disturbing" and "void of humanity" by police officials – circulated social media and were used by investigators to identify eight of the 10 suspects. On Tuesday, police and the FBI coordinated arrests of the eight students and executed search warrants at nine homes throughout Las Vegas. Johansson said clothing worn by teenagers in the video and cellphones were recovered.

Las Vegas police will be releasing photos of the remaining suspects and urged the public to assist investigators in identifying them. Johansson asked that people submit footage of the incident to police and called on parents to speak with their children about the videos, which have been shared widely across multiple social media platforms.

"If you're a mentor with youth, if you're a parent, you have to assume that your kids have seen this video ... don't put your head in the sand," Johansson said. "Please talk with your kids about it and explain – people need to know right from wrong and that this act was heinous."

Jonathan's father seeks 'deeper justice'

Jonathan Lewis Sr., an electrician who lives in Austin, Texas, said his son was "a hero" who stuck up for his friend.

"That's just the kind of person he was," Lewis, 38, told USA TODAY. He described his son as an avid hip-hop fan who liked to make digital art.

Lewis said when he got the phone call that Jonathan was attacked and in the hospital, he could "could barely walk."

His family arranged to get him a flight to Las Vegas, where he and Jonathan's mother stayed at their son's bedside for days. During that time, they started planning a foundation that would address youth violence issues through counseling, mentorships and after-school programs.

Lewis created a website for the foundation, Team Jonathan, and is beginning to work on what he hopes becomes a nonprofit that'll prevent incidents like what happened to his son.

"Justice is a much much deeper issue to me than these children go to prison," Lewis said. "This is an all-encompassing issue that involves all of humanity and how we behave and the lack of empathy and compassion that we have. I just feel like my son's legacy deserves a deeper justice."

Fun dads! Karl is definitely the softest for you while Sapnap is the most attentive.

Karl is very playful and gets you all sorts of toys. He encourages you to play outside and just enjoy your time, leading you on tame explorations around Kinoko. He forages with you and helps you identify different kinds of mushrooms and plants.

Karl occasionally tells stories of times long past with foggy eyes and an odd tone.

He makes soup with you and makes you breakfast. He's not the best cook in the house but he does make good mushroom soup.

Sapnap likes to play rough, encouraging games involving sports or physical activity of any kind. You wanna play knights? He makes you a cardboard sword to swing around (no matter if you're a knight or princess), and he's the big bad dragon you've gotta defeat! He enjoys picking you up and swinging you around– of course he's never too rough but he tends to throw you around a bit.

He also likes lots of sports– soccer, basketball, football, etc. If you're an active kid, he'll play whatever you want all day.

Sapnap also makes sure you can defend yourself, and teaches you how to fight against mobs. He always keeps a watchful eye on you whenever you're out and about, but he knows you can handle yourself when night falls.

Quackity can be distant and quiet at times, but when he's around he showers you with gifts and praise. He gives you toys, expensive clothing, trinkets– basically whatever you want, he'll get.

He also tells you stories and brings back souvenirs whenever he goes to Las Nevadas. He often reads from books but also talks of his colleagues and any humorous incidents that have happened to him.

His softer side comes out in these moments– he loves making you laugh, seeing your face light up makes his whole week.

Quackity is banned from the kitchen, thus your days with him are spent going out and shopping or meeting up with Quackity's friends. He spoils you with anything you have your eye on, even if you don't ask for anything.

If you're more creative than active, Quackity gets you lots of books for you to read, on whatever subject you like. Space? Dinosaurs? Nature? He can get those. Fiction books, fantasy, horror? Sure!

Karl will gladly color or draw with you, taking great delight when you show him your drawings and making a big show of it.

"Oh, what's this?? Oh, [Name], this is amazing! Literally, like, Mona Lisa quality, what the heck! I'm putting this up on the fridge!"

Every drawing is posted on the fridge with little magnets, proudly displaying your creativity. Sapnap and Quackity both compliment your skills, Sapnap ruffling your hair or giving you a noogie.

"Look at our little artist!"

"Woah, the world's gotta watch out. We've got a master in the works."

Days where the whole family is together can be chaotic. Dinners are lively and you get a lot of attention. Sapnap is the main cook of the household, and food cooked by him is full of love for his family. If you're a picky eater, he caters to your needs, but encourages you to branch out if you ever want to.

If you fall ill, they're all there to support you. Sapnap tends to you at every complaint (albeit telling you not to be so dramatic), Karl makes you some soup, and Quackity gets your medicine.

Nightmares are similar-- Sapnap and Quackity both advise you to fight back against whatever scary monster is in your dreams. Quackity tries to comfort you by telling you it's not real, or by reading you a story. Karl offers to sit and listen if you want to talk about it, and gives nice, warm hugs.

About to be a little #fandom critical while I’m still mildly delirious

One of my biggest pet peeves is people who draw/write cquackity and cpurpled as friends or even just like on good terms that aren’t forced

you can’t look me in the eyes and tell me that alex “no one will remember you” quackity and purpled “I don’t think there will ever be a point in time where I respect you as a person” bedwars are friends

writers and artists and analysts and editors and ziners and cosplayers. people who make playlists and people who write lore/stream summaries and people who create knitted/croqueted/sewed projects. traditional artists and digital artists and comic artists. poetry writers and prose writers and a mix of both writers. lengthy analyses and brief analyses, fan-cam editors and shitposter editors, zine mods and zine contributors, every goddamn cosplayer. all the people who actually reblog the art and leave nice comments and cheer people on. fandom events and highly-anticipated streams and fandom surveys and fandom data and polls. collaboration across all types of artists, collections of works that are similar, dashboard known names like mangoball and passerine. meetups and discord calls and ask games. 

among us sus remix tubbo to 3k long the disc war finale breakdowns; the various las nevadas party playlists to the l’manberg blanket; the tireless SBI found family fic writers to the hundreds of dope ass c!dream designs.

i love being in this fandom so goddamn much. what a cool fucking place to be. 

The QSMP meetup got me thinking (and slightly emotional cause they're so cute).

And a little bit of DSMP discourse here so if you're not wanting to hear that then I'm sorry, these are just the thoughts in my head and I don't want to start fighting.

The thing DSMP was lacking I feel was that...community aspect. You had the small factions (like L'Manburg early on, but Las Nevadas e.t.c.) but everyone felt separate. Now I understand DSMP was created as a SMP for streamers and the original intention wasn't roleplay until a Mr. Wilbur Soot came along. (I wasn't there for the beginning and I only watched Philza so my knowledge of lore comes from my sibling).

But with QSMP, you can tell they genuinely enjoy each other's stories. Like, and I've said this before, I'm a DM for 3 D&D games. I've been running D&D for a long time as primarily a rp DM. Group roleplay goes really well if it's not just your characters story you take into consideration, you're not the main character. And they do. They work together and they're very much that found family vibe.

I know there was some awkwardness on DSMP for people not giving certain characters enough 'screen time' especially not big streamers had a lot more difficulties. I know QSMP isn't perfect, and the issue can still arise (I only watch English streamers admittedly as English is my main language, but I dabble in Spanish to help with my understanding of the language). But even with the language barrier, people feel heard, smaller streamers, bigger streamers, their plots and stories have equal importance. People care.

There is faction war and in fighting and distrust, but it all seems to be done respectfully and with the consent of other content creators. They seem to talk to each other. It helps that the server has admins that work hard to include characters and their storylines, and work to tailor discoveries to the individual characters, but make it work for others too. Tubbo finding books, Fit finding old buildings, Baghera and her entire arc (I love her please I want to see more). Etolies and his current descent, BBH too.

Yes there are individual pairings, and groups, and factions, and war. But it's all roleplay, they genuinely all like each other.

It's what makes hermitcraft such a good server to watch, that commradery and friendship. True they don't roleplay as much, but their little events like the King arc, and the button, and now with Decked Out, they genuinely get along and have a good time. And I feel the same can be said for QSMP which is why it is doing so well.

...this got really long, and I'm rambling, and I'm just so happy to see a roleplay server doing it right. Yes it's not perfect, that's the problem with the internet and discourse and you can't please everyone. But they're trying so hard, and it's enjoyable to see it.
