Ghouls & Confessions
Tumblr media
Requested by anonymous:  Hey it's me again lol. I read a lot of your posts and I love them so much. Can I request a Lan Sizhui x reader? Only request is fluff! The rest you can make up yourself! Take your time ^^
Pairing: Lan Sizhui x reader
Word Count: 2073 words
Warnings: starts with a bit of angst, but fluffier near the end
Tumblr media
You stared ahead of you, eyes darting around before landing on Sizhui as he practiced his music skills. His hair was flowing down his back, slightly tied back with a second ribbon so it wouldn’t come in front of his face. His fingers pulled at the strings of the guqin, creating a beautiful melody that echoed through the place. You sat down in the grass, leaning against a tree before closing your eyes as you continued to listen to the music. When it stopped, you opened your eyes and noticed Sizhui in front of you, staring down.
“Why are you sitting here for, (y/n)?” “Just listening.” You answered as he sat next to you. You laid your head on his shoulder with a sigh.
“You are getting better.” You complimented and he laughed sweetly, thanking you. You looked at him as you felt your heart beating faster. For the last 2 years, you had a major crush on him. You grew up together in the burial mountain under Wen Ning, Wen Qing and Wei Wuxian with Sizhui by your side as the only 2 children. When Wei Wuxian died, Lan Wangji took both of you into the Lan clan and acted as a brother/father figure to both of you. You were a year younger than Sizhui, so you had a tendency to actually call Wangji dad, something that only you did and Wangi was okay with for some reason. And then you basically grew up here beside Sizhui, only growing closer and closer in your friendship with the years.
“When are you going to practice the dizi (Chinese flute like Wei Wuxian’s) again?” He asked and you looked away, shrugging carelessly. “Are you still ashamed?” He asked and you looked at him with a shy smile. Just then, Wangji walked in and you smiled, jumping up and running to Wangji before stopping right in front of him.
“Are we doing something, dad?! Are we going on a hunt or-” You stopped rambling as he looked at you, looking down and biting your bottom lip.
“Sorry...” You mumbled and he chuckled, patting your head softly before looking at Sizhui.
“Both of you have a mission with the others.” He said and you smiled brightly, looking back at Sizhui with a smile. He smiled back before bowing to Wangji. While they talked, you had run off to greet your group and wrapped your arm around Jingyi’s neck, pulling him down to your height. He let out a yelp before glaring at you.
“Hey!” You smiled before looking at the other 2. “Hey, Zizhen, hey, Jin Ling!” You greeted and Zizhen smiled as Jin Ling just nodded.
“Why is she here?” “Cause I’m a good fighter and have the brains in this group.” You said, sticking out your tongue at him only for him to do the same back at you. You let go off Jingyi, who stood back up to his normal height and you crossed your arms.
“What are we doing..?” You asked and Jingyi sighed. “Some spirits are causing a ruckus in a town.” He explained and you nodded at it before shrugging. “It’ll be a short adventure.” You whined and they all chuckled at your response. Sizhui walked to you a few minutes later and you all left, walking to the town. The way there was long, you had walked for a full day before arriving, and you were all tired yet still had to start with the mission.
“Let’s rest first before starting. It’s night anyway.” Sizhui said and everyone agreed as a room was rented. Yes, you all slept in the same room. You quickly jumped on the bed and basically claiming it for yourself. They didn’t really care that much as you were the only girl and they refused to let you sleep on the ground, but you did it every single time anyway. Sizhui sat next to you and you smiled as you laid down on the pillow while Sizhui laid next to your bed, just like he always did.
The next day you had all separated from each other, each of you searching for information (some better than others Jingyi). After around 6 hours later, you were finally searching around for the actual monster.
“I’ll check over there.” You said as you walked to the side of the cave that you had just entered and entering a second pathway of the cave. After awhile, you couldn’t see anything and took your dizi, playing a few notes before some light appeared in front of you, making your eyes widen. In front of you stood at least 6 ghouls, all now staring at you with hungry eyes. You took a step back before going into a full sprint only to fall when a seventh one grabbed your leg, taking a chunk out of your leg. Letting out a bloodcurdling scream as it did, you sliced at the ghoul with your sword and hitting it straight in it’s neck and making it let go of you. You scrambled out your feet, running out before almost bumping into Sizhui.
“(Y/n)?” “It’s ghouls!” You exclaimed as you almost tripped over your own feet. Just as you said that, loud screams filled the room followed by the ghouls running in. You heard someone curse loudly (most likely Jingyi or Jin Ling) as you all started running. Halfway, the ghouls had catched up with you and were clawing at your skin. Sizhui was already dragging you because of your leg, but when a ghoul clawed at his arm, he let go of you and you fell. The ghoul that was focused on him was now staring at you and lunged, which you missed by rolling to the side and pushing yourself up. You didn’t feel any of the clawing or bites as pure adrenaline rushed through your veins. Once you all exited the cave, the ghouls hissed at the sunlight that hit them, as you turned around. You took your dizi, Sizhui took his guqin and the other 3 took their swords. Both you and Sizhui started to play as the others attacked. When the ghouls were gone, you stopped playing and sat down on the ground as the pain finally kicked in. You pulled your leg up and inspected the now several bite and claw marks on them before sighing in pain. You could hear some shuffling before spotting Sizhui, who was crouched in front of you with a frown on his face.
“Are you alright? Nevermind, stupid question.” He mumbled as he opened his bag, pulling out bandages and an ointment before he applied it to the wounds. You hissed every time he touched the wounds, trying to pull back only for Sizhui to tighten his grip on your leg.
“Sit still or the poison might kick in.” He mumbled and you hissed again before biting your lip and leaning back as you hands gripped your robes.
“It hurts...” You whined and Sizhui looked up, worry in his eyes.
“Can you move your legs?” He asked and you tried to move them, but unfortunately they barely did. You groaned, trying again before shaking your head. He frowned, pressing certain spots and watching your reaction. You winced every time, and he nodded.
“At least they’re not paralyzed.” He said as he put everything away again. He then turned around and looked at you.
“Get on.” He said and you blushed before pushing yourself forward a bit before wrapping your arms around his shoulders. His hands took hold of your legs before he stood up and pushed you up once.
“Let’s get back to the inn.” He called to the rest, watching the rest get up and follow suit. On the way back, you had started to slowly lose consciousness until you finally felt your head fall down on his shoulder.
Lan Sizhui stayed by your side back in the inn while the others went out with some elders to clear the mission. He had placed a damp towel on your forehead, hoping for your fever to go down. You woke up a few minutes later, but you weren’t yourself. Rather, you were quite delirious as you tried to get out of the bed. He eventually got you to lay down as he laid beside you. You had wrapped yourself around him, arms tightly around his waist as you mumbled nonsense.
“I can’t help it...” You whined loudly and then you paused, which made him look at you. You were looking at him, waiting for some reaction.
“Can’t help what?” He dared to ask and you pushed your body up slightly.
“I like Sizhui~ I like Sizhui so much, but I’m to afraid to say anything...” You whined, letting your head fall down again while Sizhui just looked at you with shock.
“He’s soooo~ pretty and nice. He takes care of me, but he doesn’t see me as more then a friend... Why did I have to fall in love with him? But how couldn’t I? He’s too perfect...” You continued to whine, but the rest of your sentences were more mumbled against his chest.
He couldn’t help his heartbeat increasing as you confessed. He also couldn’t help but feel bad as you laid your soul bare, not knowing that you were doing it to the person who shouldn’t hear. You fell asleep again not much later, still clinging on to him like he’d disappear.
When you woke up again, you were alone in the room. Your body was fully covered with a thick blanket and there was a towel next to your head, which had probably fallen off earlier. You sat up, whining as you felt a pang of pain shoot through your body as well as the throbbing in your leg. Your head was throbbing as well, thoughts racing through your mind as you tried to remember everything that led to this moments. You came up with nothing, of course.
The door opened and you looked up to see Sizhui, smiling at the male only to frown when he didn’t return the smile. He just looked away from your gaze, awkwardly grabbing the towel from your bed and washing it out in a bowl of water.
“Sizhui?” You asked and he flinched slightly before looking at you, his eyes still not meeting yours. You moved slightly before hissing at the pain, which caused Sizhui to quickly stand by your side. He was clearly concerned as his hand held yours, eyes full of concern as he looked at you for any indication of pain.
“I’m okay.” You quickly said and he nodded before letting go of your hand. You frowned again, trying to look him in the eye.
“Why are you avoiding me?” You asked, but he didn’t answer and tried to walk away instead. You grabbed his arm and pulled him back quickly, making him sit down next to you.
"Talk." You said curtly and he looked at you before sighing softly, still not looking you in the eye fully.
"You just said some stuff earlier..." He mumbled and you frowned, thinking back to earlier.
Then it hit you... You had confessed your love to the person that the confession was meant for.
"Oh, God... That was you!" You exclaimed as you stood up in frustration, hands grabbing onto your hair as you softly pulled the strands.
"So... yeah...." You sighed loudly as you sat back next to him.
"This is awkward..." You joked as you looked at him and he returned your smile softly.
"I meant it, by the way. Sorry if you don't, you know, feel the same..." You said and he looked at you before softly grabbing your hand, a blush appearing on his face. He didn't say anything, but just intertwined your fingers and you took it as a sign of returned feelings. Softly placing your head on his shoulder, you sighed in content with a small smile.
The rest of the boys returned from the mission not much later, stopping at the sight in front of them. You and Sizhui were laying on the bed, Sizhui hugging you from behind as you held on of his hands, and both of you were smiling brightly. Jingyi stared at the other two, pointing at the pair in shock.
"You're seeing that, right?! When did he confess? Did I die?" He asked and you opened one eye to glare at the loud male.
"Jingyi?" "Yes?" He turned around and you sighed at the dumb smile on his face. Your eyes connected to Jin Ling and both of you then looked back at Jingyi.
"Shut up."

listen close - mdzs character hcs
these mdzs characters singing to you
♬♩♪♩ ♩♪♩♬
Lan Wangji
obviously, Wangji is very musically talented
that is an undeniable fact
you always enjoyed watching Wangji playing on the guqin
not only because he looks so elegant, serene
but also of how beautifully he’s always been able to bring music to people
in battle, he is all precision with his notes
in healing, his melodies wash away pain like water,
when serenading you,
well
the music that enters your ears,
always touches your heart
you can feel the amount of time that he put in to compose the music for you,
and when you find yourself singing
with words that match the same longing
because making music together,
being in love, with one another
was what music meant to both of you
♬♩♪♩ ♩♪♩♬
Jiang Cheng
it is a hum, soft, barely there
but you have always been good at listening where Jiang Cheng goes unheard
besides it’s easy to listen for such a sound
when you are lying by the port, head pillowed on a warm lap,
where the lake side breeze and afternoon sun warms everything just right
and the air is tinged with the distant business of everything
but still quiet and peaceful enough
to feel as if in a place all your own
Jiang Cheng’s hum accompanies you in your dreamland,
not quite yet pulled into a deep sleep
but lulled enough to be relaxed, completely enamored
Jiang Cheng rarely ever sings to you fully
he’s quite shy about his voice (reason 1)
but in the instances that he does,
the deep baritone lowness of his voice, above the splashes of water
is simply
perfect

Can I get some headcanons with the Lan Bros accidentally making their s/o cry and how they would try and make it up to the reader? I am obsessed with your writings btw they are so cute and well written :)
hi hi~
aw, thank you for your compliments! and yes i definitely can. let’s fluff it up
cheers~
。ₓ ू ₒ ु ˚ ू ₒ ु ₓ。
Lan Xichen
you know that Lan Xichen is busy
constantly head first in work
and always far (much too far) from your shared bedchambers
but you were his cultivation partner
and you had thought that if you had told him a week in advance,
had already gone through the work of making plans with him
that he would show up
but alas, you have stood in the middle of the night market, next to the lantern stand for hours
and you’re realizing your loneliness with each star that begins to twinkle in the sky
“guniang, don’t make such a long face in front of my stall, it’s bad for business!”
one light shoo from the little old lady behind the stall has the tears falling out of your eyes, hours overdue from Lan Xichen’s lateness
even now, you don’t want to admit that his absence might be permanent tonight
“y/n!”
you turn in surprise at the familiar voice that calls your name, your glistening eyes meeting Lan Xichen’s running form as he breaks through the light crowd milling about the pathways
“y/n...” Lan Xichen breathes, worried, guilty, as he takes in the sight of the gentle tears running down your face
you sniffle and wipe your tears  yourself before he has a chance to do so, turning around to feign anger rather than the sadness that you had been feeling just moments before
“you made me wait,” you say,
the pout, Lan Xichen hears well, even when you’ve turned your back to him
there is a quiet pause where you don’t get any response, and you wonder if Lan Xichen really really ditched you
but suddenly, arms wrap around you tightly, holding you
you jump slightly at the contact, but when Lan Xichen leans his head against your temple and his hand finds yours to intertwine your fingers, you relax
“i’m so sorry, how can i ever earn your forgiveness?” Lan XIchen asks earnestly,
and him being here was already more than enough for you to forgive him
but he doesn’t have to know that
you wiggle out of his arms just enough to turn around, still in his warm hold
“buy me food!” you chirp, the tears already drying on your face
Lan Xichen smiles down at you,
“as you wish,”
Lan Wangji
when the tears fall from your eyes, Lan Wangji’s own golden orbs widen in surprise
he hadn’t expected that reaction out of you
not when he had so intricately planned this surprise
not when someone *cough* Wei Wuxian *cough* had said that this would be a great idea
but a second fat tear rolls down your face
and Lan Wangji’s on his feet and over by your side in less than a second
his hands cup your face as his eyes flicker all about,
and his thumb gently rubs at the stray tears that fall
“was it too spicy?” Lan Wangji asks, hushed, a lot embarrassed and a little more than worried
you manage a smile amidst your tears, leaning into his palm as you sniffle
“just a little bit,” you admit, if Lan Wangji couldn’t already tell by the red tint of your cheeks
and your lips
Wei Wuxian had said that anyone from Lotus Pier had an exquisite taste palette
and that the bland food of Gusu Lan would surely turn people away
but Lan Wangji supposes
that when you sit back down on the picnic blanket
and take a big bite out of the plain tofu (the only non spicy dish that he had brought along)
maybe,
maybe you and him have a more similar food palette than he thought
and when your eyes crinkle up at the simple taste of the soy beans
Lan Wangji realizes,
perhaps, you’re already impressed enough by him

Hayo! I loved the reactions of the Lan juniors to the reader taking off their headband accidentally. It was wholesome especially Lan Suzichi telling the reader that they are responsible now 😂🥰. Could you please do that same senerio, but with Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji?
hi
aha i’m glad that you like that reaction; sure thing.
here’s to your request
⭑・゚゚・*:༅。.。༅:*゚:*:✼✿ ✿✼:*゚:༅。.。༅:*・゚゚・⭑
Lan Wangji
you hold your breath,
hoping that if you didn’t move
there would be no way
for Lan Wangji to feel
that the tiniest bit of your skin had grazed against the end of his forehead ribbon
beside you, Lan Wangji continues to walk on
and that small action of yours
seemed to work
though you miscalculate
that instead of passing your skin, dutifully
the edge of the forehead ribbon
catches on to one of your very intricate bracelets
and that tug when your arm pulls away
is definitely noticeable
Lan Wangji stills in an instant,
and your heart is beating in your throat as your hand quickly grabs both the rest of his ribbon with your bracelet to begin untangling it
“i’m so sorry, i’m truly so sorry, let me-”
though for all of your effort,
it causes Lan Wangji’s entire forehead ribbon to
fall off
it drifts off his head like in slow motion,
and Lan Wangji’s golden eyes are on you, their power intense without being muted by the cloud symbol just above his eyebrows for you to stare at
you clutch the rest of his fallen ribbon against your caught bracelet,
unable to read the look in his eyes
“you-”
he can’t even bring it in himself to finish his sentence
you don’t know how you would answer to him, even if he did
Lan Xichen
as a Lan disciple, you understand
you know very well
the importance of the forehead ribbon
you know of its sacredness, its meaning
which is why,
when Lan Xichen begins taking his forehead ribbon off in front of you
you’re quick to stop him,
put your hands against his temple to hold the ribbon back from falling down into his lap, untied
“what do you think you’re doing?” you ask, shocked, disbelieving
Lan Xichen blinks quickly at your words,
taking in the closeness of you, leaned into him
of your fingertips, grazing against the temple of his skin
on the smallest edges of his forehead ribbon
the moment that that realization hits him
it seems to be the same for you
you’re quick to drawn your hands back, hands fluttering to your lap like burned
but Lan Xichen is patient, and waits until your hands have settled
and your skittering eyes finally meet his
eyes locked with yours,
he lets his forehead ribbon loosen, slip and finally fall from his forehead
free,
you blink mutedly at Lan Xichen, hold your breath as he suddenly leans into to you
“may i?” Lan Xichen asks,
it takes you a heartbeat to realize that he means
your own forehead ribbon
you don’t know how to answer, except with a quiet breath,
you’re still quite breathless, seeing Lan Xichen like this,
bare before you
and Xichen looks at you, ready for you to truly see him

Hi! I hope you don't already have too many requests, I don't want to add on if you do, but, could you do something where one of the mdzs characters hugs the reader from behinds and says something? thank you! I love your blog!
hi there!
thank you for your consideration; i have quite a few requests on my end and i’m a slow writer usually so it takes a bit for me haha. (and my new semester has just started so goodbye to freedom~)
this feels like a very fluffy reaction and i will try send out the same vibes
thank you all for your patience, as i steadily get to everyone’s asks :)
here’s to your request~
⭑・゚゚・*:༅。.。༅:*゚:*:✼✿ ✿✼:*゚:༅。.。༅:*・゚゚・⭑
Lan Wangji
you’re holding a little bunny in your arms
and this was an unusual feat in and of itself
you’ve always been scared of holding the little critters
with how they tend to flail and jump and skitter in anyone’s arms (besides Lan Wangji’s)
but today
you’ve somehow manage to coax a small bunny into your awaiting arms with an enticing carrot
you smile down at the baby bunny, wishing you had more hands so that you can hold, feed and pet the cute creature all at once
but watching the fluffy snow white bunny nibble and chew at the treat in from your hand while snuggling into the crook of your arm warms you enough
and it keeps your attention wholly
so you don’t even notice that someone has come up behind you until an arm holds your waist, and another long white sleeved arm comes up and warps around the arm holding the bunny
you startle, nearly dropping the fluffy bun if it weren’t an arm that comes up to hold you closer
you turn to the side and look up, getting a close up of Lan Wangji’s ever serene profile
you let out a soft breath turning to look back down at the bunny
luckily it continues you nibbling, undeterred by the commotion of its handlers
“you scared me,” you mention quietly to the person behind you
Lan Wangji huffs a gentle laugh against the side of your cheek
“you looked so peaceful, i didn’t want to disturb you,”
and you can’t tell if Lan Wangji is saying that to you or the bunny that’s slowly getting sleepier in your arms
luckily you get a clarification when there’s a soft kiss pressed against your temple moments later
Xue Yang
steam billows up from the big pot that you’re brewing
the midday sun is high in the sky
and it’s way pass the time that Xue Yang was supposed to be home (from wherever it was that he went) to have lunch with you
and although living with him for the past few years has shown that both of you are both not timely in any fashion,
you wonder why he is so immensely late today
you sigh into your pot, stirring a bit of the soupy broth before kneeling down to blow out the fire
maybe he’ll be home when you’ve finished setting the table
with that thought, you put out the last lingering flames
you get up grabbing the bowl in your side and begin to ladle the soup in
you’re so preoccupied by your thoughts you don’t even hear the door of the house open
you’re lucky the bowl doesn’t spill with how hard you jumped at the arm that wraps around your lower waist
and the chin that rests on your shoulder
“something smells really good,” Xue Yang comments, and you can feel the smile on his face with how his chin digs into your shoulder
“say something else before you hug me like this, i could have dropped the soup!” you tell him
he just smiles wider, hand warm on the side of your waist
Jiang Yanli
“oh! y/n!”
for a little woman like Jiang Yanli, she sure did have some strength
you didn’t have time to turn around to greet her before she’s thrown her arms to hug around your waist, wrapping around you
“yanli,” you say, with a smile, because this was an interesting predicament that you were both in and definitely not something that her husband would be happy with
“Jiang Yanli! why do you always hug your friends like that!”
you roll your eyes at Jin Zixuan’s voice echoey in the distance
“jie, he really hates it whenever you hug me like this, especially in public,” you tell Jiang Yanli once you’ve managed to turn around to actually see her
though your arms are still held within each other’s
Jiang Yanli does a funny little shrug
“we’ve been like this since we were young girls, nothing is going to change that,” Jiang Yanli assures you
“even if all of the sect leaders say that it’s ‘no very lady like’?”
“nope,” Jiang Yanli reassures you,
the squeeze of her hand is warm against yours
Wen Qing
you’re staring off into the distance, the hilly mountainous view before you seeming vast and unfathomable
the wound wrapped around your abdomen stings despite the care that it’s received
just the thought of traveling with such an injury pains you more than when you had been stabbed
you wonder when you would be finished with this burden
when you would stop being a burden to other people as well
you’re bit overwhelmed with your emotions, which makes you stumble slightly
but arms come to wrap around you, a warm comforting presence
you take in a deep breath,
the wind rustles beside you both
Wen Qing’s presence you know well
even when she isn’t speaking
but somehow, her single word still surprises you
“stay,” Wen Qing tells you, voice as soft as the wind
“just stay”

Hiya! I'm not sure if your taking requests, but can I request the LXC or poly WangXian (whichever you want^^) with a cosplayer s/o? Like one day they need something and walk in to them in full costume making tiktoks, then find out their job is a social media influencer? Thank you sm!!
Your blog is so addictive ngl💕💕
hehe, i’m so glad you’re enjoying my little posts, thank you for reading!  the funny thing is i just watched a movie yesterday with a plot that’s kind of like this; it was hilarious and i loved it a lot. let me give a go at writing, (☆▽☆)
here’s to your request~
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
it sounds like a song, maybe even a vocal exercise of some sort
honestly, Wei Ying doesn’t know
behind him, Lan Zhan closes the door, steps in
they both share a look
your small apartment was quiet except for the muffled sounds coming from your closed bedroom a little bit farther away
“you think y/n’s okay?” Wei Ying asks his companion and Lan Zhan does a funny little shoulder shrug as they both take off their shoes and walk deeper into your apartment
they get to your bedroom and open the door without knocking
honestly,
Wei Ying doesn’t know what he was expecting
maybe you playing on your keyboard or something
Lan Zhan peeks in over his shorter partner’s head
and they both,
well,
they’re both kinda shooked
you’re in a full costume of sorts, with hair that’s a completely different color from your natural color, bright blue color contact eyes
and also
your voice
“oooh kayyy; and that’s how you do it! let me know if you need me to go through the parts again”
Wei Ying and Lan Zhan both stand at the door way, gaping at you as you lean closer to your phone screen to read the comments popping up
“who’s the two people by your doorway...” you mumble as your read the comment out loud and turn around just to yelp at the intruders watching you work
Wei Ying has the audacity to send an awkward wave at you
you want to yell, or say something else
but you’re quick to get back in character,
cause you’ve been doing this for a while now
it’s just your first time being interrupted like this
“wellll, my lovely friends, i think it’s time to end our little session for today! but tune in next week for another dance tutorial and a q&a with me to know all about my new costume!! sweet dreams angels!”
you quickly end your livestream and turn around to the two people still gaping at you from the door way
“don’t you guys ever knock!”
and well, at least your voice was normal again
“what are you doing??” Wei Ying asks curiously, the questions tumbling out of his mouth as he comes into your room and sees your whole set up
the tripod stand, the lights
god, they were bright
“well, i run a small channel and people wanted to know how i made this,” you explain, incredibly brief, and the two boys in front of you look down at your frilly dress
“you made that?” both Wei Ying and Lan Zhan question, cutely, at the same time
“yeah, the stores don’t have it the way that i like, so i thought it’d be easier to just make it myself...”
you’re suddenly bombarded by Wei Ying’s gushing and oohs
“wowowow, i never thought that i’d have such a talented girlfriend!”
you laugh as Wei Ying touches the fabric of your dress, playing around with the frills
and your smile grows wider when Lan Zhan comes up to you and places a gentle hand on your head
“your eyes are cool when they’re opal, but i miss your (e/c) eyes.” Lan Zhan tells you when you look up to him
you smile, huffing out a little breath of air
“it’s just for the internet persona,” you reassure him, and he smiles down at you
your attention is back on the other person when you feel your dress being pressed
“alright, stop touching it you’re going to wrinkle the little ruffles,”
“but they’re so soft!”
“Wei Ying!”
