assigning each of the bad kids a taylor swift era because i am feeling deprived of tswift content now that she's on break from the eras tour

Kristen: Fearless. I can't even explain why, but to me that album is just so sunny and in my mind it fits Kristen perfectly. I think maybe it's because Fearless was one of the first album I ever really loved, then when I was older the rerecording is what got me back into tswift and I can totally see Kristen going through a similar journey with it where maybe she loves it as a kid but then stops listening to it as she distances herself from her childhood/family, only to fall in love with it again later on. Also I feel like the country vibes fit her well. (She would also LOVE betty but she would pretend it's a lesbian anthem)

Gorgug: Ok this feels controversial but he's a Lover stan. I just fully belive that to his core Gorgug is a lover not a hater and he would un ironically love Lover. Like to me that album is all about having gone through some bad shit and choosing to only carry forward the best of it? And that fits with my perception of Gorgug. ALSO the end of afterglow 'I want to be defined by the things that I love, not the things that I hate, or the things that haunt me in the middle of the night' just feels very Gorgug coded to me dont ask me why. However if you've seen any of my other posts about music and the bad kids you know that I wholeheartedly believe Gorgug loves all music so I think he'd be hard pressed to choose a favourite album.

Riz: Midnights. And not just because this kid never sleeps. Bassically I really couldn't decide which album he would listen to because none of them really fit, but then I started thinking about specific lyrics and I think Midnights has the most that he could relate to. I mean 'no one wanted to play with me as a little kid so I've been scheming like a criminal ever since' is about him. You can't change my mind. I do think though that Riz is definitely more invested in all the easter eggs and firguring out which album is coming next over actually listening to her music. Like he would for sure be among the first to figure out all her clues.

Fabian: 1989 and Folklore. I fully to the bottom of my heart belive that until his sophmore year Fabian would exclusivly be listening to pop music, sea shanties, and weird elven music. So obviously he would love the greatest pop album ever made. He wouldn't listen to Folklore until post sophmore character development. Also he would For Sure learn the choreography for the dance in the background of Dress on the Rep tour and recreat it perfectly using his sheet.

Fig: Speak Now. I mean do I even need to explain this? It's the perfect album for Fig. It's the kind of thing she would have loved when she was in her Preppy Cheerleader phase, but it has just enough of that pop punk influence that I feel like she could still appreciate it when she's older. I feel like she would definitly take issue with some of the misogynistic lyrics used in some of the songs, and would be all for the lyric change in Better Than Revenge. Also as I've mentioned many times before, Fig would love Paramore, and would LOVE Castles Crumbling. Like you're going to sit here and tell me that lines like 'They used to cheer when they saw my face, Now I fear I have fallen from grace' + 'Their faith was strong, but I pushed it too far, I held that grudge 'til it tore me apart' + 'Ones I loved tried to help, so I ran them off, And here I sit alone, behind walls of regret' + 'People look at me like I'm a monster, Now they're screaming at the palace front gates, used to chant my name, Now they're screaming that they hate me, Never wanted you to hate me' weren't written by Figueroth Faeth? I also just think songs like Never Grow Up and Long Live would perfectly fit with her not so secret sentimental streak.

Adaine: Evermore and Folklore. I think theres just a sort of elegence to these albums that really reminds me of Adaine. I also think theres so much vulnerability in them and a lot of the songs touch on feelings of not being good enough for others (mirrorball, tolerate it, this is me trying, right where you left me) that I think she could relate to not from a romantic relationship standpoint but from all the expectations placed on her by her parents. I also think that although these are probably the most low key of tswifts albums, they have some good angry songs (no body no crime, illicit affairs, mad woman) that she would definitly love. But yeah this is mostly based on aesthetics. Evermore and Folklore were albums written with a quill and Adaine is the kind of girl to appreciate this.

So this is a perfect background music for the start of a movie about Kristen's life right now and I LOVE finding those songs. It's perfect on so many layers, it talks about feeling trapped, wanting to fix empty habits, and not to mention how "lavender bones" really hits home to my queer little heart. This entire playlist is really a game of guessing when the "you" in songs chosen mean Tracker and when they mean Cassandra, level: impossible

Ok so this is kind of a genre outlier on the playlist since it is very very alt punk but for me it represents the rage at the mall, Kristen's relationship to Cassandra, and both of their respective reactions to what happened. It's very chaotic, but it was a very chaotic situation and I stand by it plus I love adding modern bands to things

Brennan: "Go for it."

Ally: *rolls dice* "12."

Murph: "Can I take a stress for Kristen? Just like going around trying to make Kristen cool?"

Brennan: "Yeah, you can allow for a re-roll here. So your campaign manager's just gonna take a stress token to give you. Riz is the only character allowed to take stress for other people. Okay? There we go."

Ally: "Thank you, Riz." *rolls dice* "*** ******, it's worse."

Brennan: "Okay."

Murph: "I'll take another one please."

And you have advantage on any other track check you roll in this period because your popularity helps you. People start supporting you. They know that Fabian's on the team. Honestly, all of this is Riz. It's all the weird clubs."

Ally: "Yeah, it's absolutely Riz."

Brennan: "The clubs are coming through to help you. It's all Riz."

Riz: "The freshman can vote! We don't need cool kids! We need a lot of dorks!"

Kristen: "Are you okay?"

Riz: "No, of course! I'm great!"

Brennan: "You're ****ing beltway guru."

Murph: "Yeah."

Ally: "You're listening to all these podcasts."

Riz: "Soil! It's all about the Soil Club!"

Brennan: "I'm on Crooked Media every day. Yeah." *laughs* "Great, so that's Popularity for you. Now go ahead. So, Kristen, against all odds, the godless Kristen Applebees... Kristen and Fabian vault to the top of popularity in the school, right?"

Ally: "That's right."

*Ally and Lou do cool handshake and pose*

Brennan: "Let's go baby. Let's go."

Lou: "Yes."

Brennan: "Kristen, go ahead and give me... you may roll... This, I will allow it to cancel the disadvantage 'cause of that popularity check. Go ahead and roll Religion with advantage. The DC for this is 15 gets you a D."

Ally: "I get a plus six."

Brennan: "Rolling with advantage."

Ally: *rolls dice* "Okay, 12. So that's an 18."

Brennan: "18, so that means you get a C."

Ally: "Oh and I can Bardic for this."

Brennan: "You can bardic for that."

Ally: "Okay, okay, okay." *rolls dice* "It's a two. Okay, so 20."

Brennan: "So that's 20 from 15. Okay, Kristen, you get a C in Religion. Give me one more Religion check, actually, just normal."

Ally: "Okay."

Lou: "Without a god, you know?"

Ally: *rolls dice* "It's a nat one."

Brennan: "Oh, you roll with advantage 'cause of your book."

Ally: "Thank ****ing God."

General Headcannons for the Bad Kids (Fantasy High) for 🪨 Anon!

Adaine:

• Put a spell on Riz's string he uses for clue boards so it never runs out.

• Really, REALLY likes cats. Especially calico cats. Always wanted one, but her parents refused.

• Loves listening to those 24/7 lofi streams, especially while studying.

• Likes soft perfumes like peach and flowers.

• Played piano for a long time throughout childhood, but began to hate it. Now only teaches herself songs she likes.

Fabian:

• Likes wearing jewellery, especially rings.

• As well as being captain of the bloodrush team, he's a member of the swim team.

• Plays Animal Crossing with Adaine a lot.

• Does not know a single nursery rhyme, as he was brought up singing sea shanties.

• Dressed up as a pirate for almost every Halloween, except for the one year he went as a mermaid.

Fig:

• Loves climbing things. Will climb most trees and sits in windowsills high up.

• Puts rings around her horns to look cool.

• Loves sour candy.

• Makes her own earrings out of mementos from important moments.

• Learned how to read tarot in middle school because she thought it was cool. Now gives the party readings for fun.

Gorgug:

• Loves to do art. Will doodle in margins of school notes and on scrap paper. Mainly draws flowers.

• Can and will carry his friends at any point. Will pick up Fig and put her on his shoulders, and gives Zelda piggyback rides.

• Writes poetry/music in his free time.

• Loves baking with his parents. They did it when he was younger, and now likes to make treats for the party.

• Is banned from playing Uno at game nights after he entered a rage when Fabian +4-ed him

Kristen:

• Makes friendship bracelets for the party; one out of knotted and braided threads, one with beads in their favourite colours with their initials, and one with flowers and grasses.

• Takes polaroid pictures of the party all the time.

• Stops by the Applebee's House every so often to give her brothers toys/gifts.

• Loves getting her hair played with. She always lets Tracker braid her hair, or gets Adaine to put it in an intricate style.

Riz:

• Really good at Beyblades.

• Keeps anything and everything that could be helpful in his briefcase of holding. This includes snacks and water, bandages and other medical things, and pads/tampons.

• Forever stealing the other members clothes, usually Gorgug's hoodies or Fabian's letterman jacket

• Hates putting sugar or any sweeteners in his coffee.

• On the very rare occasion that he sleeps, he curls up into a little ball. He refuses to admit this fact, especially to Fabian.

Bad Kids (as a group):

• Play Mario Kart together very often. Gorgug has never won.

• The aux cord has been banned in VanBoat, as it leads to too much chaos and conflict. The only exception is if it's only Fig and Gorgug together.

• They all tried to teach Gorgug some Elvish for missions, but he could not pick up anything.

• Everyone went to the opening of the LGBT student union to support Kristen, without telling her. She got confused and thought they were all coming out at once.

• Riz and Gorgug once both got stuck in a pit of mud, and Fabian got stuck trying to get them out. He had to call The Hangman, which also got stuck.

I loved coming up with these! Honestly was going to do more, but thought five for each was enough. Hope you like them! As always, please let me know if you need anything changed. And please let me know if you want more for any other characters/situations!

OKAY so first of all adaine abernant who has swapped with fig. this is an adaine who has accepted LONG AGO that she wasn’t the favorite child and she was never going to live up to her parents expectations, so instead of trying or meekly protesting adaine goes into a remarkably rebellious phase where she listens to punk music and swears and smokes!!! there will always be a part of adaine who is insecure about the family she comes from and i do think a part of her arc would come from the realisation that she’s putting on some sort of persona not because she wants to because it’d be the biggest “fuck you” to her parents. and then she starts further questioning if the people around her would like her if she revealed these insecurities.... also, she’d still be a wizard (before her rebellious phase she was a real arcane nerd lol) and everybody keeps making fun of her for it lmfaoo

riz gukgak swaps with fabian!! i imagine that sklonda pushed for riz to use his dexterity and play sports instead of fixating on another mystery and losing tons and tons of sleep lmfao. he's still an inquisitive rogue, and one of the reasons he joined the bloodrush team is because he had a few suspicions about their coach. but this little guy is a BEAST on the field. he runs so fast that he practically IS the ball. they dont call him riz "the ball" gukgak for nothing!!! riz is still socially awkward but definitely tries very very hard to make friends (mainly because he cant stand upsetting his mom), but i imagine that he isn't the most popular on his team due to his inquisitive nature. this version of riz is a lot more desperate to please others and be the popular guy than the original riz is!! id say swap!riz would rather make friends than solve the mystery, which completely reverses the original. much of his arc would be him realising that pushing himself to be somebody he isnt isnt the best thing for him.

kristen applebees swaps with gorgug! this is a kristen who is remarkably insecure, probably concerning her sexuality and her faith, and definitely tends to underestimate herself. shes a cleric from the twilight domain, having grown up in the church of helio but had a religious revelation before freshman year when she started to realise that she was attracted to girls. she's much more timid and shy, and definitely tends to beat herself up a bit regarding how awkward she can be. also, since this is a swap au, i guess that would make her parents........ super supportive and nice?????? like the thistlesprings are??????? maybe they were all supportive of the church but left once they discovered how Off it all was. a lot of her arc would be about self-discovery and growing comfortable in her own skin. also tracker would swap with zelda so they'd meet each other at school :]

fabian swaps with adaine!! this fabian is more than desperate to prove himself in the eyes of both his parents and his peers. his dad already has a pretty horrible reputation, one that fabian recognises and ultimately feels shame about, so he definitely leans more into his mother's heritage than he does his father. this fabian attempts to be classy and prestigious in order to prove to his classmates that he is worthy of being there and that he is NOTHING like his father. he duels with trainers and instructors (as he is still a fighter), but i imagine he has never duelled to the death before, meaning that the first encounter he has with the corn monster is just absolutely horrifying for him lmfaoooo. like adaine, he also suffers from fairly severe anxiety, and the need to not be like his father definitely plays a role in that. i feel like his arc could go either way: either he realises that his father was never as terrible as people said he was or he accepts that he is his own person with unique motivations and aspirations, and therefore he is nothing like his dad.

FIG SWAPS WITH KRISTEN and honestly i think this one excites me the most because it's a tiefling cleric!!!!! a tiefling cleric !!!!!!!!! imagine a fig who grew up in the church of helio, who sings at church every sunday and is the lead vocalist, who was told by priests and her parents all her life that she was the "chosen one", that she was helio's beloved child. and now imagine fig waking up one day, only to see HORNS GROWING ON HER HEAD. how MORTIFYING WOULD THAT BE. this is a fig who has been told her entire life that she was going to corn heaven only to wake up one day and discover that her mom had an affair with a demon!!!!!!!!!! like wtf!!!!!! this version of fig wears a hat over her horns to hide them and is much, much more secretive about her being a tiefling than the original fig is, and spends much of the first half of fantasy high frantically attempting to keep up this holy persona. and then when that crumbles to pieces and people start noticing her horns, it becomes an inner conflict within herself in regards to her faith and her falling out with religion. her arc would concern self-discovery and finally finding out her identity outside of the church, an identity that she has been scared of revealing for so long.

and finally, gorgug thistlespring swaps with riz :] gorgug has grown up with adoptive parents all his life and was basically set to become a barbarian from the get-go. however, one day his babysitter (who most likely is swapped with another maiden, katja maybe???) disappears! and not only that, but her disappearance might be connected to his LOST DAD???? this version of gorgug is so desperate for answers regarding his birth parents and his vanishing babysitter that he basically becomes an impromptu investigator overnight. he's not great at it by any means-- his intelligence is not incredible and his lack of charisma often scares witnesses away-- but he still asks questions as much as he possibly can. he carries a metal flower that his babysitter made with him as potential evidence. if simple questions dont work, then brute force can!!!! the comedic potential is THERE-- just imagine some 6'4", absolute UNIT of a teenager walking up to you and asking if youve seen his lost babysitter. what are you supposed to say, no??? youre gonna tell this kid, who has a metal flower sticking out of his vest, no????????

If you see this, please go listen to "Strange" by LP and think about the Bad Kids. Please! (Spoiler Warning for both seasons of Fantasy High following!)

Think about Kristen Applebees when you hear lines like "They're the ones make you trust in the universe". How Kristen fights and creates gods on her journey to search for the answers she and the Bad Kids need. Kristen who was willing to give her own life again and again if there was even the tiniest chance that it would save her friends and make the fight easier for them. Think about "We are scared and we're coming for Kristen", when Kristen gave the Bad Kids the strengh and inspiration to do what needed to be done, even in death.

Think about Adaine Abernant when you here lines like "You know you're home when you find the ones who stay". Because Adaine could have made it easy for herself so many times, could have worked with her parents, could have left behind her sister, could have abandoned the other Bad Kids in the forest, all to save herself. But that's not who she is, she fights against the fear and stays or finds a way back against all odds because she would never abandone her family.

Think about Fig Faeth at lines like "Brave enough not to tame. They let you burst into flames". Fig, who never tries to change her friends or make them do something they don't want. Who will support them, inspire them and give them help and suggestions when wanted but when not, will not cling and will still support her friends even if the plan is bad. Who inspired all of them during battle and gives them the possibility to succeed when they couldn't have done it alone, the possibility to be stronger, faster, etc.

Think about Riz Gukgak at lines like "Anyone can get saved". Because that is who Riz is, the one that wants to save everyone he cares for. That went into the adventure with one goal in mind, saving his friend/babysitter even if everyone else told him that it is pointless. Who didn't rest until they got Adaine back. Who ran after the unicorn to try and save Kristen. Who would have done everything to save his father. But who also realized that he now has people who would do the same thing for him. Who learn a new spell to travel to the Nine Hells for him, who crash a ship into the building he is in completely prepared to fight a whole building of goblins after an already tough battle, who give up healing themselves in order to heal him. He does not have to do the saving alone anymore.

Think about Fabian Aramais Seacaster at lines like "They're the ones who you know will get you by". Fabian, who was destined to be the leader, the captain, the front line from the moment that he was born with the last name Seacaster. But who realized that it isn't who he has to be, at least not always. That saving his friends, supporting them, getting them to where they need to be, buying them nice things or letting them use his stuff for their advantage is just as important and good as getting a hit in. Who picked up his friends on the Hangman or let the ride his motorcycle, who saved Riz from falling to his death, who can now also inspire and gives positivity to his friends to keep them going.

And think about Gorgug Thistlespring at the line "When you're lost and you're left and it's getting worse". Because Gorgug is the Tank of the Bad Kids. Stepping between his friends and the danger, taking hit after hit every fight. Who learns whole new skills and spells just to help his friends, to make something for them, to make them feel better. Who will be there for you to help you even if you don't know that you even need help. Gorgug, who repaired the Hangman, who connected Ayda and Aguefort, who learned how to connect his phone to a satellite, who saved Baxter. Gorgug, who went through one of his worst nightmares and whose first thought, after taking a deep breath, was that he had to tell his friends that they could do it, that he was there and believed in them, that they had to keep going!

Basically, this song makes me very emotional every time I listen to it, I love the Bad Kids very much and so I wanted to share this even if it sounds weird

I’ve been having a lot of thoughts about kristen applebees lately and all of that eventually accumulated in me writing a song! I just wanted to explore the doubt and determination and willpower she’s been experiencing a lot recently, all sort of culminating in... the events of last week’s stream. So, yeah. bill seacaster: what is the most chaotic impulsive thing you have ever done?

i am not a very impulsive person, so this one is hard. like, once i went to my tattoo artist during a lunch break in high school and got a tattoo, but it was a tattoo i had kind of planned, but it wasn’t 100%, but i really wanted a tattoo so i said fuck it and just did it. or last year in uni where i was feeling very dysphoric about my long hair i had struggled to grow out for months, but then i just went to a hairdresser and said please cut it off, i can’t take this. an hour later i booked a train home to my parents and went home. i am not a very impulsive person, i just have a lot of anxiety so i wouldn’t say chaotic is an adjective used about me very often.. :--(

ayda aguefort: what is the biggest thing that has ever gone over your head?

music, artists and their lives! all the time, i have no idea who an artist is or what they are about because i just,, don’t register info like that. as someone who for a very long time only listened to swedish indie pop and grew up in a family that didn’t have the radio turned on, it took me a very long time to realise that the show gl*e only did covers of music... i watched it as a 12-year-old and didn’t understand why my classmate who was not into gl*e knew the lyrics to put a ring on it, a song i had only heard on the show. turned out that it was a song by beyoncé and i had no idea! (ok it took me until 2014 to understand that i had actually heard beyoncé’s music, i just hadn’t known it was her...)

10. Has a piece of writing ever “haunted” you? Has your own writing haunted you? What does that mean to you?

When I was. like. 8. i wrote this original story about five girls and a boy. it was, in short, very bad: none of the character traits were consistent, the plot moved along terribly, and scenes were messy. every chapter was in a different font and Oh Dear God was it unreadable.

and i fucking loved it. i was so proud of it. i still kind of am? 35 pages for an eight year old isn’t bad. but there are printed copies i still find around my house, and my mom still talks about it to this day, and every time i read it i wince.

i’m not sure if this is the definition of haunted, but it follows me around to this day. you maybe thought this was gonna be a fanfic, but this story. Oh God.

17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.

Gotta talk about fight or flight baybee!! okay so when i started this it was basically because i had many thoughts on the fact it was kristen’s siblings who convinced her to go during family in flames and not. her parents. and also the fact her parents names combined were McDonalds. that cracked me up. also actually i was talking to a lovely irl about this and they said “wait a character is Christian Applebees??” and i went ally beardsley how dare you. the google doc is titled ‘the mfing MacDonna Applebees’

i brainstormed a rudimentary layout for Mordred for this fic, as in i thought about the first floor and went ‘everything else doesn’t matter’. the chapel is canonically disconnected from the house but kristen also canonically has a secret passageway to tracker’s room, so i decided all the secret passageways link up and let people just. into the walls. kristen and riz are the only ones who have any semblance of confidence in there bc they sneak around so much. kristen uses the passageways mostly for tracker’s and bee’s rooms, but she knows how to get to the kitchen and about midway up the tower staircase.

bee is trans. i debated for a while whether her name was spelled Bee or Bea, but i decided on Bee bc i know a Bea and the vibes are. Different. kristen’s nickname for bricker is bricks, and bee calls him rick or ricks, and when they’re a bit older on their Fantasy Discord she Nicknames him Dick and kris doesn’t let Bricker change it back. bricker is bi; he kissed one of the luckstones under the bleachers and that’s what McDonalds was angry about. he’s also religious (bee goes i know the gods are real but i think i’m taking a step back please); he probably becomes a cleric of helio and does something similar to tracker in the sense he worships his own version of helio, not the widely accepted version.

they’re all two years apart: if kristen’s going into jr year, bee’s going into freshman, bricker’s going into seventh, and cork’s going into fifth. this means cork was seven or eight when kristen left, and you know, third graders are Little and have the object permanence of baboons, so. he’s fine. he’s not really in this fic sorry. when i listen to songs, i like to imagine animatics, and so fics are based around them often, and this one is no acception; the first line of the song is ‘i think it might rain today’ and a separate 3+1 line i was debating was ‘3 times kristen found her siblings in a storm and the one time she had them’.

also kristen needs therapy. she Will Not Get It.

32. What is a line from a poem/novel/fanfic etc that you return to from time and time again? How did you find it? What does it mean to you?

really any line from ‘For Everyone’ by Jason Reynolds. it’s such a good book. my boss at a camp i worked at gave it to me a couple years ago, and i cried reading it. if i had to pick a section: (id in alt text) (it hits different when formatted like it’s read aloud)

also uhhh some fantasy high thoughts that ill put under a readmore bc i dont think anyone cares but i dont know how to shut up so

i still dont know what i expected but for some reason i didnt expect brennan to sound like he does??? i have no idea why or what gave me the idea otherwise, nor do i know what i thought he would sound like, but it was a ‘oh! okay then’ experience

[fun fact i was talking to my friend bee the entire time i was listening to the first half of the first ep so im just retreating into those dms to find my initial reactions]

i did not remember fabians name for a majority of the first two episodes. i did go ‘haha, mood’ at his mom just... having a goblet of wine at 9 in the morning like me too tho

i heard ‘applebees’ and i legit had to sit there like ‘did. did i hear this right. is her last name applebees? is it?’ and bee had to inform me that yes, her name is kristen applebees.

“shes big into the corn god” and i just go ‘finally, someone i can understand’ because fun fact i fucking love corn.

i CAN and WILL die for gorgug. i love him so much. i love him and his parents and their literal tree house and their lil songs.

also there was just ‘please dont sing’ and his dad puts down the ukulele sadly and i was like LET HIM SING

adaine’s introduction basically had me going ‘whats a gender-neutral word for lad/lass....’ before she spoke because i didnt know who this would be and also i just had a moment of ‘is??? there a word???’

also i love adaine. my rude anxiety wizard. (wizard? warlock?? sorcerer??? i dont know what her class is)

[it was at this point i had to get my sketchbook because i was running out of things to keep my hands busy and while i do want to get into knitting, i dont have the things to do that.]

[this is unrelated but i just randomly went ‘i miss lup’ and this mood is still a mood. i miss lup.]

i adore riz. so much.

i went “CLUTCHES HEART” and bee immediately knew what i had just heard (the cereal scene)

it was at that moment that i decided to stan riz’s mom.

the only things i knew about, from tumblr, was brennan’s existence as a dm and also the gay smooch that happened like really recently so i just go ‘wheres the gay one. the one that tumblrs going crazy over. the fire one. the one i mistook for aubrey once-’ and i was sadly informed that she isnt in this season :(

i literally lost my shit when edgelord was kicked out of the theatre department because ive been apart of theatre for years and its so wild to see someone get kicked out of the theatre department.
