for @klarolineauseason Week 2 - All Human. Prompt : high school best friends to lovers au
summary: Caroline was never a partier, she hated parties more than anything in the world.
Truth be told, she hated it the most when her best friend isn't with her the whole time.
Centerfold
Caroline can’t believe she agreed to come to a party on a friday night again for a distraction. Parties are definitely better in theory than in reality. She hated the loud music and people shouting when they were trying to talk. She hated the stench of weed and smoke that hung in the air. She was never a partier, she hated parties more than anything in the world.
After arriving at the party with Klaus, he was once again nowhere to be seen. Hell the guy walks around like he owns the place. Wouldn't be surprised if he got caught up with all his fans that were dying to dance with him.
Whatever, she'll be fine on her own. Caroline looked down at the cup on her hand and decided she needed a new drink. She walked over to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle. It tasted awful, but she found it hard to care anymore.
She sat at the stairs and sipped her bottle while people came and left in big groups. She ignored the people who tried to talk to her. When her bottle was almost empty, she decided to get up and get a new one.
She stumbled when she stood up and god her head was spinning. Using the wall for support, her eyes scanned the entire party for the person she wanted to see.
God she couldn't breathe. Everyone kept dancing around her, she stumbled back and forth through the people in the living room. Oh great, the music grew even louder. She found herself cursing the band.
She really needs to get out of here. But how? Klaus. I have to find Klaus. He would help her and get her out of this god forsaken party. I need my best friend. Klaus would stop the world from spinning. He would hold her close. He would take her home.
She finally found him; On the couch with a beautiful brunette whose long legs draped along his lap. His hands were absent mindedly tracing her calves as she spoke. BINGO.
She stumbled up to Klaus, drawing his attention from the brunette on his lap. "Klaus, you need to come with me now" she slurred. She took a sip from the drink in his hand since she was already drunk. She spat it back. "Jesus, this is the worst thing I've had all night. "
He chuckled and apologetically pushed the brunette's legs off him and stood up to put an arm around Caroline's waist. Taking his drink back, "I could have warned you, you know. "
She clung onto his shirt for support while the room was rocking. His woody aftershave was swirling her nostrils. He smelled good. Too good in fact. It was a crime for him to look insanely good in his black t-shirt, dirty blond curls tussled.
Caroline wanted to dance, to feel his body pressed against hers. She took his hand and dragged him towards the grinding teens in the room. She lost her footing, almost falling.
She felt disconnected to her legs, as if her limbs were not her own. Klaus' hands steadied her but she felt like she was falling. Her vision was blurry and never settling.
"Whoa, easy love," Klaus said into her hair, trying to keep her steady. "Hold on, I got you. " He kept repeating it as he led her through the crowd like a soothing mantra, again and again. "I got you. I got you. I got you. "
And she knew he always would.

i have a prompt request if can do it so basically the nola gang are trying to talk klaus out of something (maybe stop him from getting revenge yk) and they really tried with camille until rebekah and hayley get the idea to ask caroline to go to nola because she'd talk him out of worse stuff and then when she gets there she managed to talk him out his plans almost immediately
Wiles || Klaroline
Caroline squinted as her head cocked to the side. "Yeah, I'm not drunk enough for this, which is not at all what I was promised for spring break in New Orleans." Finishing off her drink, she stole his scotch. "Explain it again."
A fond sigh escaped Klaus, and he signaled Cami for another round. "As pleased as I am that you're here, sweetheart, I would have much preferred it not to be on my sister's errand. Your very human abhorrence of my tactics has already been noted."
"In a general sense, sure," she agreed with a careless shrug. "But let's talk specifics. This witch--"
"Davina."
"--won't do the spell you need her--"
"She's the only one with the power to pull it off alone."
"--to do in a timely fashion--"
"With your lot destroying the Other Side, my mother needs to be found and contained now."
"--because you're openly at war with the vamp that saved her from her own coven? Gee, hard to see why she won't play ball."
Lips curling, Klaus fought for patience. "I don't have time for the teasing, love, nor are you the first to have this conversation with me. Unless you have a better idea--"
"Than killing her friends and trying to kidnap her from the only person who's kept her safe?"
"--please feel free to sit this one out. Go back to Mystic Falls and focus on those plans you told me about. I assure you, I had no hand in Rebekah calling you to fight her battles."
Caroline scoffed, unimpressed. "Like she'd give me the credit. But I've heard you catch more witches with money than vinegar, and you have to have a witch bribe fund by now. Why do they need me to convince you to use it?"
A hand scrubbed over his face. "Davina's young, something about morals and the principle of doing the right thing. She won't accept the generous scholarship or home I've offered her, not when I deserve everything dear Mother decides to throw at me." With a sardonic grin, his eyes blaze into hers. "Teenagers, you know."
"Oh." Her mouth puckered around her straw as she furrowed her brow. "She is young. Have you tried...forbidding her? Tell her she can't do it, that Esther would absolutely use her and kill her when she's through. It's probably true anyway." Shrugging, Caroline seemed unsure. "It can't come from you, though. If you have any pull with the vampire friend, they're the best voice for that message. Frame it around concern for her, not yourself." Her smile turned mean, but her eyes were bright with mischief. "I know that's hard for you."
"As hard as it must be for you to advise my dastardly plans," he conceded. Leaning his elbows on the table, he pinned her with a curious gaze. "You're good at this."
She propped her chin in her hand, just tipsy enough to inch closer to him. "I am. But my wiles don't come cheap, or else your sister would call me for every bad idea you ever have."
"So...never? A shame for me, to not see you nearly as often."
Her grin widened. "You should still give Davina that scholarship. And the house." She bit her lip in thought. "Well, once the spell is finished."
He always did admire her practicality. "Of course, love," he promised. "Whatever you say."

My muse needs a break, so I’m doing a few mini-drabbles from my list. Let me know if any spark your interest! This is a sequel to Chapters 100 & Chapter 106: Klaroline Valentine's Day Bingo.
Last night, her ex shoved his exquisitely sculpted ass in her face (that brilliant blue G-string was the star of her dreams). And now his mother was at her erotic bakery. Caroline pinched the bridge of her nose and wished for the patience to see this bizarre morning through. Without snatching Esther’s imported extensions right off her scalp.
Esther Mikaelson gracefully swept into the room, blush pink Ferragamos clacking away on the tile. She studied the ass cheek cake display, a perfectly shaped eyebrow raised quizzically as she loftily said, “Charming. The details are so lifelike.”
Caroline shrugged, doing her best to sound nonchalant as she tried to figure why in the hell this awful woman would deign to come to her shop. “You’d be surprised how often I can repurpose the flower frosting tips to make ruffled trim for sexy lingerie.”
At Esther’s surprised chuckle, Caroline blurted out, “Today’s special is a coffee cockcake with extra whipped cream. But I doubt that’s why you’re here.” Crossing her arms protectively in front of her, she demanded, “So, say whatever horrible thing you want to say and then kindly fuck off on your broom.”
With a bizarre nod of approval, the older woman straightened her spine, leveling Caroline with that familiar, terrifyingly frosty gaze and then said, “I’ve come to apologize.”

Klaroline snippet
"Listen," Caroline began, "I don't read romance novels because of the sex scenes." "Then why do you read them?" Klaus asked. "I read them because I want to see a couple fall in love. Duh!" Caroline said as if the answer was obvious. "Don't get me wrong, whenever I read the Psy/Changeling or the Immortals After Dark series, I don't mind the sex. The sex is a bonus! But it's not why I'm there!" She gesticulated for emphasis. "What are you there for, then, Sweetheart?" "I'm there for the foreplay, the verbal banter, the unresolved sexual tension. There has to be denial, where one party or both denies that they're drawn to each other, and every time they meet it's like a battle of wills and wits," Caroline explained. "And it leaves the readers wanting more." "So," Klaus drawled, "basically what we have." Caroline stopped. "What?! No!"

Klaroline Bingo 2020 (25/?) - Camping Trip @klaroline-events
They were friends with benefits until he caught feelings. Unable to handle her emotions, she pushes him away. Out of sight, out of mind, or at least she hoped. Five months later, she is invited to a camping trip to celebrate his new girlfriend’s birthday.
She watches them from afar and there’s a burn in her heart. He looks up and their eyes meet for a fraction too long.
Defeated, she walks into the woods, her head muddled by a mix of alcohol and the thought of him, and she almost doesn’t notice him following behind her.
Almost. Because she could recognise that cologne in her dreams.
Suddenly, he is everywhere. Lips colliding, hands wandering, breaths taken aback. It took five months, and losing him, for her to realise. He is home.
“You love him,” Katherine said, stating it as though it were a well known fact.
“No, I don’t,” she denied, shaking her long blonde waves. She wasn’t capable of love, and better yet, she didn’t deserve it. She was messed up and he was good. Much too good for her.
“Then you have to let him go,” her friend whispered, noting her bloodshot eyes. Whether it was from all the drugs she had taken, or her overwhelming feelings for Klaus, she didn’t know.
All she knew was that no matter what she took, it didn’t quite mask the pain.

How about a drabble with klaus and Caroline having a one night stand and then an awkward meeting the day later?
+ “I listened to a podcast recently with an interview with a host at a restaurant who sometimes offered to seat two single parties together bc they only had one table so maybe accidental date bc only one table?” from @thetourguidebarbie
+ omg i'm sorry to hear about your annoying day :( fluffy prompt: "well this is awkward...."! from an Anon.
Good Meddling
Caroline’s never really had an issue with Mondays. She likes weekends, of course, free time. But she also likes a fresh start, the opportunity to tackle new challenges. She’s usually cheerier than her coworkers at the start of the week, breezes into the office and leads the chorus of ‘good mornings!’ and idle chit chat as computers are turned on and coffee cups are filled.
She’d gotten a couple of side-eyes this morning, the thunderclouds over her head obvious even to those she’s not close with. A few people had asked what was wrong, had backed off when Caroline had made vague excuses of feeling like she was coming down with something.
Kat’s away for the week, visiting her family in Bulgaria, so Caroline couldn’t even really vent, or even assign blame. Her issue is 97% Katherine’s fault. Caroline will own the remaining 3% for taking Kat’s terrible advice.
She’d have been better off staying in on Saturday night, gorging on Haagen Daas and binging whatever Netflix show had to hottest people on the cover image.
No, Caroline had gone out. Had worn a dress slightly too nice for the casual bar (two neighborhoods over, Kat had stressed the importance of venturing outside her home turf) she’d found. She’d settled on a stool, had been prepared to enact step two of the plan (find the most attractive person in the place, offer to buy them a drink) only to be distracted by the bartender.
Klaus.
In her defense, he’d been very pleasing to the eye. The ear too, when he’d spoken. In hindsight he’d probably been a little too pleasing to her brain. Kat’s plan had stressed that she’d needed to listen to her body, find someone who made her a little sweaty and a lot excited. Caroline had been amused when the bartender had deftly deflected the attention of a few bridesmaids, annoyed when he’d insisted on making her a drink better than the vodka water she’d ordered. Grudgingly impressed when the concoction he’d place in front of her had been amazing.
They’d chatted about her job, he’d explained that he juggled a few things – bartending, commissioned illustrations and his own paintings. They’d talked about where they’d come from and Caroline had asked him a million questions. She’d always wanted to go to New Orleans, and hadn’t yet made it to the UK. Mostly because she’s a workaholic and the idea of taking more than a week off gives her hives.
She probably should have paid more attention to Kat’s rules. “Don’t talk to the dude you’re going to get under” had been number one had been heavily implied. Kat had been lecturing her over their lunch hour and Caroline had nodded and hummed at appropriate intervals but she’d thought the conversation kind of dumb. She’d humored Katherine, has found that’s usually the wisest course of action. Kat hadn’t listened when Caroline had pointed out that she didn’t need to get over her ex (she’d done that ages ago, thank you). She’s just a little bitter that he’s getting married and she hasn’t even really liked someone since him.
She’d only vented about it because her mom’s birthday’s coming up. Caroline’s heading back to Mystic Falls for the weekend and people are definitely going to comment, to look for her reactions and whisper behind her back.
She’d been super glad to leave that aspect of small town life behind when she’d escaped for college, Caroline’s never even considered going back.
Sunday morning she’d taken advantage of the anonymity of a big city, had slipped from Klaus the bartender’s apartment when the sun had barely been out, hadn’t garnered more than a raised brow or two in her borrowed (okay stolen) clothes while she’d waited for her Uber to arrive.
Caroline had regretted not leaving her number as soon as the door to his place had closed behind her. Had even checked the doorknob to see if she could sneak back in. It had been locked and she’d told herself she’d been silly to feel disappointed. Getting attached was beside the point of the exercise. Besides, weren’t relationships grown from one night stands bound to fail? There’s probably a study.
Or maybe just a Cosmo article.
Either way, Caroline’s only option had been to leave, to never return to Klaus’ bar (or anything in it’s vicinity). She’d treated herself to a shower and a bath when she’d gotten home, had broken out her fancy special occasion bath oil and drowsed the morning away in the tub.
Her mood had remained subdued, she’d chalked it up to sleep deprivation and had tucked herself into bed at 9:00 PM.
She’d been super productive at work, had avoided breaks and her coworkers, and plowed through both her urgent to do list and her secondary things to get ahead list.
Caroline decides to treat herself to something excessively carb-y for dinner as a reward.
The best all day breakfast place she knows is just on the cusp of the mental no-fly zone she’d enacted around Klaus’ bar. She and the girls do brunch there nearly every week, and Caroline attacks a pile of peanut butter stuffed waffles (liberally drizzled with chocolate sauce and caramelized bananas) once a month when her uterus demands it. It’s always packed so reservations are a must for a group but, if she’s alone, she can usually slip into a place at the counter.
Her heart sinks a little when she walks in and spots the wall of people perched on the stools she’d been hoping to grab. The hostess smiles sympathetically when she sees Caroline. Her name’s April and she’s a gem, soft spoken but ruthlessly efficient – something Caroline respects. “Bad day?” she asks.
Caroline sighs, slumps slightly, her spine twinging in protest. She’s been tense all day and now that she’s surrounded by amazing smells – bacon and syrup and a hint of bitter coffee - her stomach’s growling. “Bad day, bad weekend. Any idea how long the wait will be?”
April looks down, brows furrowing as she puzzles over the seating chart. She turns from Caroline, rising up on her tiptoes. “You know what? Give me one second.”
She turns before Caroline can reply, slipping through tables and between people deftly until she’d out of sight. Caroline drums her fingers on the hostesses station, considers getting her order to go. Her food won’t be quite as good once she’s gotten back to her apartment but maybe she’d now just doomed to dissatisfaction and regrettable decisions.
April returns before Caroline can dwell any further on that bit of depressingness her brain had cooked up. April’s smiling and Caroline straightens, a tiny bit of hope kindling. She’s due for a turn of her luck, isn’t she?
“Okay, so. Slightly unconventional solution. A guy showed up about ten minutes ago, nabbed the last two-top. He’s a regular, a recent one, a good tipper. Kind of particular about his order, gets a little ornery when small children start wailing but he’s friendly enough.”
Caroline has no idea where this is going and she tries not to urge April to get to the point. Being snippy isn’t going to get a plate of comfort food in front of her faster. “Okay?”
“I asked if he’d mind if someone shared his table. He seems a little preoccupied today so I figured he won’t mind if you’re not up for small talk. And bonus, he’s really nice to look at. Like, distractingly so.”
She hesitates, so not in the mood for company. Or another hot guy, if she’s being honest. The last one’s proving to be annoyingly hard to shake.
“Excuse me,” a voice calls from behind and Caroline steps forward automatically as a waiter squeezes by, a tray heavy with food balanced expertly. Her eyes linger on the food.
When Caroline turns back around April’s got a menu tucked under her arm. She grins, tips her head to the left, “Come on. It’s right this way.”
* * * * *
“Hi, thank you so…”
Words fail her. Something that’s never happened in all of Caroline’s twenty seven years.
Klaus seems just as shell shocked to find her sitting across from him, his eyes wide and his cup frozen halfway between the table and his mouth.
What are the freaking odds?
The guy who’d graciously agreed to let her share his table had been seated with his back to the restaurant, Caroline had noted that his hair was a bit of a mess, dark blonde and curling at the ends, that his shirt was a plain grey. No bells had rung but then she hadn’t really spent much time looking at Klaus from behind.
She’d caught a glimpse after the first round, when he’d left the bed to dispose of the condom and grab them some water. He’d been naked though, and unashamed about it. Caroline had been distracted.
Klaus recovers first, setting his cup down carefully, his hand lingering around the rim as he twists it. He glances quickly at April, who’s set down Caroline’s menu and is watching them curiously. “It’s not a problem. May I ask your name, love?”
Caroline’s eyes narrow instinctively – had he forgotten her name?! Super insulting but if that’s the case she’s going to be able to stop second guessing her decision to leave his place without waking him real quick.
It’s the teeniest silver lining but Caroline will take what she can get.
“Caroline. And thank you, is what I meant to say.”
“Not a problem,” he murmurs, his head dipping until his eyes focus on the menu in front of him.
“What can I get you to drink, Caroline?” April asks. She tips her head in Klaus’ direction when Caroline meets her eyes, her eyebrows rising and falling suggestively.
Why does everyone seem to think she needs help in this department?
“Hot chocolate please. With whipped cream.” It’s a shame this place isn’t licensed, she could really go with a heavy pour of bourbon in her drink.
April scribbles on her pad, smiles brightly. “Be back in a couple of minutes!”
She bustles away and Caroline busies herself with unbuttoning her jacket, unwinding her scarf. Tucking her purse under the table, between her feet. She draws the process out as long as she can, far longer than is reasonable, and sneaks a glance at Klaus when she’s done.
Only to find him watching her, a challenge in his expression. “Come here often?” he asks, blandly polite as if they are, in fact, strangers.
It’s annoying.
Caroline takes a sip of her water, decides to at least attempt to diffuse the tension. “So, this is awkward. I’ll acknowledge it.”
The noise Klaus makes is too close to a scoff to be amused. “Will you? Funny, I’d have guessed you’d avoid the issue entirely. I’m surprised you’re still here. Is running away only a weekend habit?”
Oh boy. Blandly polite did not last long. His eyes are sharp, focused, his mouth set stubbornly once he’s finished speaking. Klaus is pissed.
It’s terrible but Caroline’s kind of glad.
“I’m pleased to hear that Caroline is, in fact, your name. I’ve been wondering.”
“Yep, that’s me. Caroline. Caroline Forbes, you can google me if you want. I didn’t tell you any lies on Saturday.”
It’s clear Klaus doesn’t believe her.
He shifts back in his chair, an arm coming up to rest on the table. She avoids looking at his forearm, her fingers curling into a fist in her lap as a vivid memory returns. Their last time had been lazy, Klaus pressed up behind her with the both of them just waking up. He’d curved an arm underneath Caroline, between her thighs, rubbed and teased as his movements inside of her had grown jerky. He’d come first but Caroline hadn’t minded, not when he’d been so determined to get her there too. She’d dug her nails in when it had hit her, turned her face into his pillows to muffle her moans.
She wonders if the marks are still visible on his skin.
“Will you tell me the truth if I ask you why you left?”
Caroline sucks in a breath, shocked that he’s being so direct. Maybe she shouldn’t be. He’d asked her plenty of questions over the hours they’d spent together. Mundane getting to know you things. He’d urged her to tell him what felt good, what she liked, his voice rough and his accent thick.
Her honesty had been richly rewarded. Repeatedly.
Caroline figures there’s no harm in seeing if that trend continues, “I felt like I was supposed to. I was in the hallway outside of your apartment when I realized I didn’t want to.”
She watches him absorb her answer, even if it kind of kills her. He relaxes slowly, his mouth curling into a smile that’s far more inviting. He makes her wait, takes his time taking another sip of his drink. Caroline refuses to fidget.
“Interesting,” Klaus finally drawls. His chair scrapes across the tiles as he moves closer, his knees pressing lightly against hers under the table.
She wants to laugh in relief. She steals his cup, wrinkling her nose when she finds tea, not coffee. Drinks some anyway, because it’s not in her to back down. “Just interesting?” The questions comes out flirty, probably excessively so, considering they’re in a family establishment.
Oh well. Caroline’s day is looking way up, she’d going to roll with it.
“Promising,” Klaus amends, a familiar heat creeping into his gaze. He’s looked at her the same way Saturday night, right around the time Caroline had stopped paying attention to anyone else in the bar.
April appears at their table and Caroline, plunking Caroline’s oversized mug down and beginning to rattle off the specials. April doesn’t notice Klaus’ slightly peeved glare, thankfully. Caroline nudges him sharply with her knee, shaking her head reprovingly. The poor girl really doesn’t deserve any ire. She’s just doing her job.
Besides, April’s solely responsible for this promising turn of events. Caroline will have to figure out a way to thank her.

Thirsty?
-
Caroline's eyes fly open at the sound of her phone vibrating on her bedside, the notification light flickering in the night darkness of her room. The blonde groans as she turns on her side reaching for her phone as she adjusts in her bedsheets. The screen flickers to life with a swipe of her finger telling her it's very nearly four in the morning.
Her phone pings another moment later, a reminder of why she's been awoken, "Klaus," she groans, her eyes rolling back in annoyance.
A single photo was sent from his phone, he was smiling or angry she thought rubbing her eyes. On closer inspection it looked like Kol was just being annoying in the background. Another message popped up underneath reading, "Help me Love."
Caroline laughed tucking the side of her face into her pillow, she missed him when he was away. Time difference between them wasn't so bad but she missed his physical experience. She shivered at the notion, Klaus was a great friend but lately something had been changing between them.
She bit at her cheek as she examined the photo more closely noting that they were in a pub of all places. Her fingers danced across her keyboard pressing send before she could think twice about it.
Her phone rang a not a minute later and Caroline's stomach all but flipped at the sound, "It's 4am," she answers with sleep deep in her tone.
"No, that can't be right. The sun is out Caroline," his voice like velvet, "So tell me, what would quench your thirst?"
Her face heats, her mouth flies open, "I didn't say I was the one acting thirsty. You're at a bar-pub sorry," she groans.
The Brit chuckles into his phone missing her so much, "Caroline, when I get back," he pauses as Kol appears with three lagers, "Dinner," his voice is lower when he asks.
"Yes," her voice squeaks and Caroline swears she has never made that sound before knowing he's smiling when he replies.
"Fantastic," he mutters as she hears Kol making kiss sounds and lewd remarks, "Then we'll see who's thirst is greater."
"Klaus Mikaelson," Caroline blurts out sitting up defensively ready to have it out until he's begging her to stop or teasing what happens next.
She can tell he's grinning ear to ear that dangerous dimpled smile when he says, "Bye lovely," and disconnects the line.
Well, she thinks how in the hell is she going to get any sleep now? Her smile hurts her face as she looks at his picture, soon he'll be stateside and then just maybe their thirst will be sated. If she can survive that long.

Thanks for reading 💖💖💖

Sorry for being late to Klaroline infinity week! Unfortunately, I was unable to post due to an emergency that kept me busy and unable to even check tumblr. Sorry :(
Day One: AU/AH
Celebrity Klaroline
Caroline was reading through a script for a new project when she heard a knock on the door. There were two things wrong with that. First - it was 2 am. Who would be at her door at this time? Second- who exactly was there? Being a celebrity, you could never be too careful. And she had no idea if her fans could find out where she lived. Opening the door with her trusty baseball bat, she swung the bat the moment she opened the door.
“Caroline! It’s me!” The voice belonged to her secret lover and Grammy award-winning musician, Klaus Mikaelson. (Also known as Hybrid. Caroline didn’t understand why he chose that name but if Klaus liked it, she liked it.)
“Klaus, what are you doing here? If they see you-” Caroline was interrupted by a kiss, which was Klaus’s favorite way of shutting her up.
“I wanted to see you, love.” Klaus told her, in his charming English accent.
Caroline rolled her eyes but still smiled. “Klaus, if anyone got a picture of you coming into my apartment, the press will eat it all up!”
“And what’s wrong with that? Caroline, I love you. Magazine articles aren’t going to change that.” Klaus told Caroline, with a look of determination in his eyes.
“I know, but I want to tell my family stuff about us before they find out through a gossip magazine. Ugh, I hate this.”
“Then why don’t we tell them! Love, we’ve been together for 6 months. I think it’s about time.”
Biting her lip, Caroline made a quick decision. It was about 10 where her family lived, and if she skyped them they would probably answer. “Let’s do it. Right now.“
Klaus widened his eyes in surprise. "I didn’t mean right now, darling.”
“No. Right now. Let’s do it. I’m ready. Besides, my schedule can get quite busy and we won’t have another chance.”
Smiling, Klaus agreed and quickly went to fix his hair before the call.
“Oh, Klaus?”
“Yes love?”
“The premiere for my latest movie is Thursday, could you be my date?”
“Of course."

"How does it work?"
Eight months, that's how long she had been gone from Mystic Falls, from the school but most importantly her daughters. She'd missed them fiercely and was returning in time to see them compete in the Miss Mystic Falls Pageant.
She had been touring Europe trying to find out as much as she could on the Gemini coven to stop her daughters having to go through the horrible merge at twenty two. It wasn't going so well.
"So how exactly does it work?" Alaric was sat on the edge of his desk looking at her.
"I find a source and go in and ask them nicely what they know"
"And then?" Alaric prompted
"And then I go in and ask not so nicely" Klaus smirked as he strode into the room without bothering to knock "good cop, bad cop or something like that"
With a heavy sigh Alaric ran his hand over his face and glanced at Caroline who was currently glaring at Klaus "I thought you were waiting at the mansion?"
"I grew impatient" Klaus stopped by her chair and leant on the back of it "and I wanted to see my daughter"
"He better not be killing people" Alaric trusted Caroline but he knew Klaus too "you think I'd let that happen?" Caroline snapped "he's just the muscle, half of them don't even know who he is"
"You can thank me anytime for assisting in finding a loophole for your daughter's" Klaus rose to full height and stepped towards Alaric, Caroline made no move to stop him because she knew he wasn't threatening or intending to be. It was merely a show of stupidity between the two of them.
Alaric didn't respond just stood there as both men glared at each other.
"Okay, time to break it up" Caroline stood from her position and inserted herself between the two men, facing Klaus. He smiled at her and she rolled her eyes "shall we find the girls?"
Stepping back Klaus held out his hand and Caroline laced her fingers with his "try not to let him start anything out there"
Alaric knew his comment was falling on deaf ears but he also knew that with Caroline around Klaus would behave, he didn't understand it, the relationship but he could see she was happy and he knew Klaus would protect her and because of that he would protect his daughters and for that he trusted him, a little.

Oh I have a mini prompt! Caroline makes the first move and asks Klaus on a date
Thanks anon, sorry for the delay hope you like this one : ) It’s kind of different as usual.
Caroline is pledging a sorority and she has to ask king of the college fraternity on a date. There’s only one problem…she hates him.
Who Dares Wins
“I have to do what now?” Caroline baulked. Pledging a new sorority was always going to be problematic but this latest dare was beyond ridiculous.
Her mother had pledged Delta Zeta all those years ago while studying at Northwestern and as much as she didn’t care much for it, Caroline had signed up more so on her behalf.
Caroline wasn’t one to shy away from a challenge but this latest one seemed a little out of her reach. Not because she liked him but because she detested him.
Him being Klaus Mikaelson.
Klaus Mikaelson was head of Theta Delta Phi fraternity and everything that was wrong with men. Even though she’d just started there, Caroline knew his reputation preceded him and he’d bedded most girls at Northwestern.  She never wanted to be one of those but now she had to ask him out.
In all honesty Caroline would much rather eat poison or stab herself in the eye. But yet here she was poured into her tightest skinny jeans hanging outside the cafeteria like some pathetic groupie.
God she hated life sometimes.
Almost on cue, he appeared flanked by about a dozen, pathetic groupies all desperate for his attention. His dark, blue eyes met hers and suddenly he was focused dismissing them and making his way towards Caroline.
Sure he was gorgeous in a conceited way in that navy henley and jeans but Caroline considered herself immune to his charms, whatever they may be. “Hello, love.”
Caroline resisted the urge to roll her eyes given his fake endearment. She had to win this challenge and doing that wouldn’t help. His dimples were already messing with her composure.
Bastard.
“Mmmm hi,” she murmured, attempting her best fake smile. “I was just wanting to ask whether…”
“I’d like some tutoring?” He interrupted, surprising her slightly. This wasn’t how she saw things going. “You’re in my advanced English class and some help would be appreciated.”
Yes, even as a sophomore, Caroline was taking advanced english and he was in her class. Even with his busy social life, Caroline never imagined the Englishman would have any trouble with their current Shakespearean module.
“Really?”
“Yes, really,” he pursed those delectable, crimson lips as he mouthed it. “How does 5pm in the library suit?”
“I suppose that…”
“Great, see you then, Forbes.” He was gone in a gust of spicy aftershave before she could respond. She wasn’t quite sure what had transpired but if this counted as a date then she was off the hook.
4 hours later….
Most of the tables were taken as they perused available space in the grand library. Caroline couldn’t miss how everyone was following their every move and whispering incessantly amongst themselves. Unfortunately she was going to be his latest conquest thanks to the college rumour mill.
They settled in one of the darkened corners, Caroline diligent as usual opening her books to start their session. Klaus seemed disinterested, yawning for added effect.
“I didn’t come here to make-out like one of your groupies,” she growled. “So if this was just some twisted excuse…”
“It was an excuse but not what you might think,” he murmured, his gaze now meeting hers. She couldn’t help but feel a little used and had every intention of telling him that.
“You’re such an ass,” she shot back. “I’m only here to fulfill some stupid sorority pledge because my mom wanted me to follow in her footsteps…”
“Until she passed away,” he finished her sentence. Caroline inhaled sharply, not expecting him to say or know about that. “And although it’s not your chosen destiny, it was hers for you.”
“How?”
“Family is like that,” he shared. “My step father pledged Theta Delta Phi and it’s all I’ve ever heard about since.”
“But why?”
“I understand the immense pressure,” Klaus breathed. “Knowing what I’ve experienced over the past few years I’m just trying to make it a little more bearable for you.”
“Why? Because I’m not capable…”
“Easy tiger,” he interrupted. “Trust me, I know you’re more than capable albeit feisty as hell,” he assured her, sending a knowing smirk her way. “But it doesn’t hurt to have a few friends on your side, I wish I had some in the beginning.”
Caroline had to admit it was nice to know someone was here for her given the college set weren’t so interested in her or what she wanted in life.
“I want to be clear, Mikaelson. You’re not getting into my pants. You know, ever.”
“When did I say I wanted to get into them, Forbes?” He shot back sarcastically, she could tell by the melody in his voice he was smiling as he said it.
“As long as we understand each other I’m happy to explain William Shakespeare to the Englishman.”
“To have an American explain it to me is my main aim in life,” he drawled sarcastically. “But please continue, love.”
“Otherwise I could teach you some manners,” she suggested. “And how to treat a woman like she’s an actual person and not a conquest.”
“And I suppose I could teach you about automatically believing college gossip and rumors,” he murmured.
“Sounds like we both have a lot to learn,” she smiled. “But I’m more than willing if it proves you wrong, Mikaelson.”
“Touche, Forbes.”
Turns out they learned a lot about each other and it didn’t seem to matter who was right or wrong in the end because they fell in love. And subsequently her pants were no longer off limits either.

wolf!klaus after breaking the curse with original!caroline please
It had never stopped being strange, finding the face of the girl she’d known in her childhood who had watched her with different eyes. Rebekah would have found her bemusement silly, if she were around to comment. But her precocious, spoiled sister would sleep a only few months longer.
They all would.
“Even vampires cannot kill merely with their eyes, Stefan,” Caroline drawled she glanced away from the corpse of the doppelgänger. Nodding to Elijah, she let him deal with the remains. They had a few hours yet to harvest her blood, thanks to Greta’s spell work.
Elijah would deal with it well enough. Elena Gilbert had been gentler than Tatiana, softer than Katerina, almost as if each generation faded just a bit more. Still, each generation somehow managed to collect their protectors, for all that they were doomed from the start. Mistakes had been made with Katerina, but Caroline had refused to allow failure a second time. Elijah could keep his fondness for the girls to himself.
And now Esther’s curse was broken.
Stefan stared at her with such hatred from his position near the remains of his brother. She’d compelled into that position after he’d killed Greta in the chaos of Klaus transforming. She hadn’t wanted to miss a moment of his shift, the painful cracking of his bones or the way his skin had shifted into fur. She’d known he’d be fine if annoyed, but her heart had rested in her throat anyway.
Then Stefan had interrupted their moment and so as far as she was concerned he could enjoy his brother rotting until Klaus returned. Particularly since Klaus had the nerve to disappear before she could see him. They were going to have a discussion when he was back in his human shape.
As for Stefan, we’ll, they’d theorized that hybrid bites would be far more painful than a regular werewolf and why not test it? She had suggested they use Katerina as the sacrifice, but Damon Salvatore’s tongue had been loose and Klaus had never tolerated that kind of disrespect. And honestly, his comments about her boobs had been as unnecessary as they had been frivolous.
“He’s closer than you think.”
Caroline arched a brow, waved a dismissive hand. “My father-in-law? Klaus is free, Stefan, and soon the rest of us will be too.”
Stefan bared his human teeth. “I hope he destroys you.”
She sighed. “You’ve become such a bore, Stefan. It’s really quite the disappointment. It’s almost a relief that Rebekah isn’t here to have to see what you’ve become.”
Confusion wrinkled his brow, but Stefan had no chance to reply as she caught a familiar scent. Twisting around, she scanned the trees and bit her lower lip as Klaus prowled out of the woods. Larger than she’d expected, his coat faded into the night around them. She’d known that Klaus had harbored a tiny concern that he’d hurt her once he’d changed, that in the moment he might not recognize her. She’d held her tongue, as ridiculous as the idea that he’d hurt her was, and it looked like she had been right.
Per usual.
Sinking down, she held out a hand impatiently. Klaus stopped just outside her reach and she narrowed her eyes in warning. “I’ll go back to our hotel room and you can have post-transformation celebration sex with your hand.”
His ears flattened, the sharp points of his teeth visible in the dying firelight and she rolled her eyes impatiently. “Klaus.”
Stiff with false affront, he stalked forward. Caroline barely had a moment to tangled her fingers in his coat when he shoved his cold nose down the front of her neckline. She squealed indignantly, falling onto her ass, and glared at his too smug face. Klaus dipped his head closer, snapping his teeth and growling, and she huffed before reaching for the fur at his throat. Humming in delight at the way he leaned into her caress, she let herself pet his coat while he stared balefully over her shoulder.
“Don’t mind Stefan,” she murmured with a final pat before standing. There would be plenty of time to learn this new aspect of her husband when it wasn’t quite so new. “You need to run. It’s been a thousand years. I’ll be here when you return.”
He ignored her and Caroline lightly rapped her knuckles between his ears. He twisted and growled, teeth flashing. “Don’t get fussy with me. I thought you would like something to hunt. He’s a little slow, lack of human blood and all, but it might be fun.”
Klaus stilled, head canting to the side and she smiled at him, fingers stroking down his neck one more time. “Then we can test out your new stamina, hmm? Who knows, we might even get lucky and horrify Elijah when he comes looking for you.”

Hiii, klaus gets called bc caroline turned off her humanity and hes there when she does the whole caroline quiz thing with tyler and matt
Hey, @enniec123! I hope you like this far-too-brief take!
Fantastic || Klaroline
"Wrong again, Matty." Caroline was gloriously backlit as she pressed the heel of her boot to the quarterback's throat. Whatever he'd been expecting since that surprising summons from Damon, she proved to be infinitely better. "Did our past mean nothing to you?"
Klaus smirked at the insolent pout on her face, and he couldn't resist the temptation to play with this fascinating creature. He moved from the shadows of the foyer and leaned against the bar. "I don't know, sweetheart, I've always preferred to focus on the future. Yours in particular."
Her eyes narrowed, and she stepped toward him, leaving Matt to cough off her weight. "Whoever called you should have known better. And I'm surprised you even bothered, what with all that trouble you've got in New Orleans. How old is the little jelly bean these days?"
Hope was safe with the family. He knew that, and he knew Caroline was in no fit state to be reasoned with. This was a game to her, he just needed to figure out the rules so she didn't run. Regardless, he needed a drink. The selection wasn't high quality, unfortunately, so he pulled the least objectionable brand. Pouring out two shots, he offered the second toward her. "Poke and prod all you want, love, I can take it. Most vampires who forgo their humanity have a better attitude when a friend stops in."
Instead of accepting, her hand slipped past the small glass to snag the rest of the bottle. "I guess that depends. Are you the kind of friend that's going to let me have fun?" She drank deeply, her challenging gaze never leaving his.
"I'll do you one better," he promised, unable to do anything but flirt with her. Even without her human sensibilities, she was fantastic. "How about we have fun together?"
The humans on the ground complained, but Caroline positively beamed. He could just see the faint rush of blood beneath her eyes, her monster barely contained. "Now, that's more like it."

My muse needs a break, so I’m doing a few mini-drabbles from my list. Let me know if any spark your interest!
This is a sequel to Chapter 116: The Moral in the Mafia.
It was ludicrous how it started. Through a combination of misspelled key word searches in his browser and a bit too much 25-year-old scotch, Klaus accidentally stumbled upon Caroline’s positivity blog. He immediately was intrigued by the stunning blonde and clicked on her videos, finding her optimistic messaging oddly enlightening. Perhaps even violent mob bosses need positive affirmations.
I matter and what I have to offer this world also matters.
I refuse to give up because I haven’t tried all possible ways.
This day brings me nothing but joy.
Subscribing to her daily assurances emails had been the most satisfying (and the most foolish) decision he’d made. Every time his phone chimed with a notification, he fought to keep his expression masklike and unyielding. But there were countless times Enzo nearly saw the affirmations, and while his right hand could be trusted for his discretion, his puckish side could not be denied and Klaus had no interest in trying to explain why the blonde bit of fluff had ensnared him. Not that he understood it himself.

Drabble about Caroline telling Klaus she is pregnant with his mystical baby but he freaking out bc she is a vampire...... THANKS
That is a hilarious prompt that I loved writing! Thank you!:
“Okay, keep calm, Caroline. You are a strong vampire. You kick ass on the daily. You can handle something like this!” she repeated the mantra over and over as she stared intensely at the floor, pacing across the large bedroom.
“Talking to yourself again, love? I did hear that it’s the in thing now.”
She was startled by his sudden appearance at the door frame. Her eyes fluttered nervously as she turned towards him.
“Hey. I think you should sit,” her voice was firm, but her eyes told another story.
“I would rather not,” Klaus replied, folding his arms in a serious manner.
The blonde huffed, locking her eyes with the man she had been sleeping with for the last few months.
“Please.”
He looked at the genuine fear in her deep blue eyes and swallowed in submission.
“Of course.”
Klaus sat at the edge of the bed, interlocking his fingers in wait of her words.
“I don’t know how to say this… You’re gonna…I don’t know,” she groaned, pressing her hands to her cheeks.
“Hey,” he quickly rose from his position, taking her hands away from her face to hold them securely, “I’m over a thousand years old, love. Not much shocks me anymore.”
“I’m pregnant,” she confessed abruptly.
“…I think we may have found the exception.”
His jaw was dropped and showing no signs of lifting any time soon. Slipping away from her, he rubbed his forehead in confusion.
“How is that possible? You’re a vampire?”
“I don’t know! It’s your mystical hybrid penis that did this to me!” she ranted, flailing her arms about as she walked to the other side of the room.
“Well, your mystical vampire eggs were fertilised by my mystical hybrid penis, love!” he retorted, arms raised.
“Please don’t say ‘fertilise’, Klaus,” she said with a disgusted face.
“Is that honestly your biggest problem right now?!” he asked with urgency, running his fingers through his hair, “Are you sure you’re pregnant?”
“Morning sickness and sore breasts, plus doctor magic herself Bonnie tested me,” Caroline informed him with a sigh.
“Bloody hell…”
“Bloody hell indeed.”

Klaroline Bingo 2020 (8/?) - Lust @klaroline-events
Summary: After her mother’s death, Caroline turns off her humanity and heads to New Orleans, where she finds Klaus and Cami at a party together. Now that she’s here, she’s set on reminding him what he’s missing.
break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored
“Caroline,” he breathed, as though he couldn’t quite believe that she was truly here, standing merely three feet away from him. "What're you doing here?" The corners of his mouth curl up reflexively, as always at the sight of her.
He met her in the middle and kissed her gently on the cheek, leaving behind an unfamiliar blonde girl, who was dressed as an angel.
And here she thought it was a Masquerade Ball, not a Halloween party.
An angel... how tacky and cliché, she thought to herself. The Klaus she remembered had better taste.
“Excuse me? How dare you -,” The girl in question came up beside them, looking offended. Perhaps her thoughts weren’t quite as quiet as she had intended. Not that she cared in the slightest. Her focus was entirely on the man beside her, who was looking particularly dashing in his suit and tie.
“I thought I’d swing by and see New Orleans for myself. What’s so special about this place that made you leave everything behind to pursue it?” There was a slight drawl in her voice, the implications behind her words were clear. She paused before giving the blonde human a once-over and rolled her eyes. "So far, I'm not seeing anything worthwhile."
Klaus' eyes widened at her bluntness, but he wasn't so easily fooled. He kept tabs on her over the years and he knew that underneath her emotionless exterior, she was broken inside.
“I heard about your mother, Caroline. I’m sorry,” he held her waist with one arm and led her away from the crowd. He looked back at the other blonde and mouthed a quick apology.
He could always see straight through her. He always knew what she was really feeling no matter how hard she tried to hide it from him. Even in her emotionless state, he could tell that she wasn’t as unaffected as she tried to make herself out to be.
“I’m not here to talk about that, Klaus,” she sidled up against him, taking pleasure in the way he felt brushing up against her exposed skin. “Let’s talk about you.” She said, suggestively, through her long, fluttering eyelashes. When he didn’t respond, she continued. “Who was that? Your girlfriend?” She teased, looking over his shoulder, revelling in the scowl that appeared on the human’s face.
“Her name is Cami, she’s... the girl I’m seeing,” He coughed out awkwardly, unsure of how she would react.
She had no right to be, but her vision turned red and despite supposedly turning it off, she was feeling an overwhelming amount of jealousy and possessiveness.
“I see,” she said, fixing his tie before placing her hand flat on his chest. She could see the lust clouding his eyes, as he became distracted by her touch and the dress she had on. The skin-tight fabric and the push-up bra were working wonders. “Enjoy the party, Klaus. I’ll see you around.”
She began to walk towards the bar, smirking. She didn’t need to turn around to know that his eyes were following her every step, and any thought of Cami had left his head.
She had time to kill, and she wasn’t leaving New Orleans until she showed him what he was missing.
