There are a whole lotta generic lookin white dude actors, but Dan Stevens is the only one I know who can look like five different generic lookin white dude actors, and who is vaguely evolving into a holy shit he's the voice actor for that character along the lines of Marl Hamill. I have no other strong feelings, but casting directors need to bring their generic guy game up to at least his level.

Profiles in Villainy
Scarlemange
Heralding from the post-apocalyptic realm of the Age of Wonderbeasts, Hugo Oak was a mutated mandrill possessing pheromone-based mind-control powers. With his abilities and enhanced intellect, sat at the very top of Las Vistas's food chain ruling the land with an iron fist.
Hugo was originally a normal primate that was mutated and raised by Lio and Song. The cruel treatment he endured under the human scientists who commissioned his mutation, and the eventual perceived desertion of his adoptive family, left Hugo with a lasting grudge against the human race. Upon acclimating to the surface world and weaponizing his coercive pheromones, he rechristened himself 'Scarlemagne' and crusaded to reunite the surface under his banner.
A despotic ruler who championed his fellow primates through intimidation and mind-control, Scarlemange was feared across the surface for the reach and scope of his power. He sought to build a golden city from which he could rule over his fellow mutes, and very nearly succeeded before Kipo and her allies were able to depose him at his own coronation, costing him his captive army in the process. Shortly afterwards, Scarlemagne was captured and imprisoned by the Timbercats.
After his reformation he joined Kipo in the fight against Emilia. In the final battle, he sacrificed himself to save his adoptive sister, Kipo.
Actor Dan Stevens provided the voice for the villain, first appearing in the sixth episode of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, airing on January 14th, 2020.

When Kipo said, “Maybe, if you were like this with everyone, people would choose to follow you, instead of being forced to,” and Scarlemange said, “That’ll never happen”, and Kipo said “It already did… with me” 🥺🥺🥺🥺

In the lt Kipo au, what is the confrontation between Wolf and Scarlemange look like? I'm picturing a frantic game of keep-away as Kipo tries to prevent her brother from killing or dousing Wolf with his pheromones. With Kipo reaching a bleak epiphany about what this kind of thing means for humans like her new best friend, which is the exact thought Scarlemange was trying to keep her away from
do u want co-ownership over this au I have no problem sharing /lh
I imagine both Kipo and Wolf would do ANYTHINGG to keep scarlemagne from seeing or finding wolf, since they both know his attitudes towards humans (especially those who try to “manipulate” kipo into thinking they’re deserving of free will or whatever). Kipo most definitely has her moral doubts about enslaving all of humanity since she’s ..Kipo but this usually translates into her trying to talk found human burrows into joining aurum, under the assumption that she can negotiate with scarlemagne how humans are treated under his rule (she wants it to be kind and cool and fun).
The way that she frantically tries to keep wolf away from her brother, subconsciously knowing what he would do if he knew she had a human friend, would definitely put a damper on her rose tinted lenses and make her question why she’s so afraid of letting that happen. Deep down she probably knows her brother can’t be reasoned with on the matter of hating all of mankind, but as you said the constant keep-away shenanigans would force her to confront that for the first time. And it would be sad :(

Kipo happy rambling
Ooooooo I never noticed before that Scarlemange’s Palace is a run down mall!!! :0!!!! That’s SO GOOD TO ANALYZE!!
Some of the mutants have towns they took over, like the Umlaut snakes. The Newton wolves have an entire observatory they use as a house. The Timbercats made their home in trees. But Scarlemange! The guy obsessed with humans (and killing them all) chose a MALL.
What a human place! A gilded palace!! The gold and jewels are fake, because it’s a mall. All the luxury is simply imitation, a snare set by capitalism to gather any extra money people had. The unseen product being sold to everyone: the brand name, the illusion of wealth, of the upper class, sold to you—and its on sale, buy two get one half off!
The piano was there as a illusion of luxury. The glass ceiling, colorful and remnant of church windows. A silly little capitalism machine dressed up like a palace or a cathedral. What a fascinating place for Scarlemagne to live!
A mall is a perfect building to represent the society that existed before. Gilded. A comforting lie. All the glory of capitalism, in all its imitation and flimsiness. What a perfect place, a perfect palace, for the king who wants to finally end humanity!
I don’t really like Scarlemagne because I’m soft and he is Trying To Kill Everyone, and I’m in a very silly overanalytical mood and probably reading way too much into it. But :3 I’m havin fun lol

Well, so much for that redemption arc.
It’s um, it’s going to be difficult to bounce back from fucking THAT!
Jegus, that was just, holy fuck.
Yeah, Kipo, please wreck his coronation. Just, ugh, omg, that... ugh
I’m, kind of glad I’m taking the weekend off.
Okay, well, there was the makings of a good redemption arc there, but then Scarlemange skewed what Kipo was saying to fit his own narrative.
Sigh.
Okay, ignoring that arc right just going to... Okay, the Dr. Emilia stuff. I liked how she was an analytical fighter, studying her opponents. I wonder if that’s the direction Wolf’s character is going to go. Like maybe she’s going to receive training to learn how to do that too. I mean, if Dr. Emelia gets an anti-mute serums from the Kipo book, then it needs to be a human that takes her down and Wolf is the best person to do that. If she receives training, her defeating Emelia would be like a sign of her progress.
Also, Mandu saving the day was badass. I kind of love the long running joke that the pig is weirdly capable when the situation calls for it. Still reminds me of the time she caught and axe with her teeth...
Great episode, just gog that ending.
Alright, bears release tomorrow and I’m likely going to be distracted because of that. I have D&D group on Sunday. That means we’ll be doing the season finale come Monday! Gotta say, after that finale I’m about ready for some Young Justice, but we’ve got to see this through to the end.
Thank you all for joining me! I love you! <3

1, 11, 13, 22, 35, 41, 55, and 68 for the ask game!
1. Do you daydream a lot before you write, or go for it as soon as the ideas strike?
Oh I just daydream a lot. As a person ifnejdnd but yea i usually have some bout of daydreaming before hand. Or any time I step away from the writing. It’s also worth mentioning I do try to visualize things as I’m writing, which could be considered daydreaming in its own right.
11. Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around?
In order. I always write and draw through my sketchbook chronologically. I do however daydream ahead.
13. Do you listen to music while you write?  If yes, what have you been listening to recently?
Yup! Can’t write without it! While finishing up Enderman Moment I had minecraft lofi mixes on.
22. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process?  How do you come up with titles?
I try to at least have an idea of a title as I go in, and it’ll be finalized as I go on and finish it. This is because I like having content that ties back to the title. Enderman Moment refers to a common phrase said in canon and is relevant. That one was pretty set in the beginning, same with my Kipo fics and Morning Tea. They guided certain aspects. Pick Up was a phrase that stuck in my mind at the beginning and because I couldn’t figure out any better titles, I pushed to try and tie it somehow. Hence the picking up hot coals imagery. Same concept for Wants and Needs, though admittedly stretched a bit more.
My process for this is idk it just happens dkdnjdnd I tend to prefer phrases it seems. It’s easier to make click with the content. I had a couple of exercises given to me in class I could dig them up one day.
35. What’s your favorite fic you’ve posted?
Uuuhhh I’d say I’m most proud of Enderman Moment for being my longest and most ambitious! Though I’m still soft for An Expected Visit. (It was my first fanfic, wowie)
41. Who’s your favorite character you’ve written?
I’ve come to really enjoy picking apart Hollow’s voice in fics. Theyre such a complex character if you start peeling back their layers. So many complexes. I remember enjoying writing Scarlemange’s dialogue for a similar reason to. They’re both refined in a way but boy oh boy is there Baggage™️ and that makes for an interesting headspace to get into. Scarle also just had a great dynamic I wrote against Kipo.
55. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics?  Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?
Uuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I dunno? I suppose that’s something a fresh set of eyes could pick up easier. I think I have a pattern of focusing on the internal stuff, written inbetween the lines. I’ve also see myself zooming in and out often, something im very pleased with cuz it impressed my writing professor.
68. Are there any fics that influenced you to write the way you do?
So when I first got into fic writing I was basically running off of my own thing. But as I’ve starting writing for Hollow Knight i see myself picking apart fics I like to use in my own writing. @/ruthlesslistener ‘s fics have been a fav of mine and i see myself trying to pick up some of that descriptive style of emotions and internal thinking as well as that longer length. Until Dawn May Break is soooooo good but the palewatcher stuff ruthless has also written is just -chefs kiss-
