So I've seen the natural blond/bottle blond debate abt Captain Rex coming up again and I figured I'd give you my thoughts. First off, I am firmly team natural blond and here's why:

Rex honestly doesn't strike me as the type of dude who would spent that much time on his hair every week or so. Just seems like a Shave It Down Just Enough So It's Still Technically Hair kinda dude. No I will not elaborate on this, either you feel me or you don't

I think it makes for a richer character, tbh. The blond hair means that he is "genetically defective". Not only could that mean there are more, less detectable genetic differences (like more defiance, aggression, and creativity. all of which more than necessary to be Skywalker's Second), but it would also mean that growing up on Kamino, he likely had a harder time. He would've had to prove his worth to the Kaminoans more than others because they are perfectionists. Blond clone? Not that bad, but not quite what we want. Blond clone who can't pass the test first try? Unacceptable, that's already two black marks. Get rid of him.

I LIVE for the "Others called him King to bully him, because his blond hair looks like a crown, but he made it his own and owns it like THE KING HE IS AND ALL THE SHINIES ADORE HIM NOW"-headcanon

I also LIVE for the "The Kaminoans ran out of Jango DNA so they took DNA from the highest performing clones, including Rex so every little blond clone we see is kinda Rex's son in a way"-headcanon

I also go absolutely FERAL at the "Rex is a natural blond and therefore has to dye his eyebrows dark"-headcanon. That's the good sht, let's be real

I know my first statement made a different point, but I am genuinely intrigued abt if there is more to the shaven hair than we think. Every blond clone we've seen (save for Crys, though we all know he's the bottle blond of the army (deregatory)) has shaven down hair. Maybe the Kaminoans gave them different regs? Because in the Cadet Episode every single cadet (save for Boba but yanno) had the regulation haircut. There was one clone (REX'S SON) who had blond hair, but it was completely shaved, just like Rex's. Makes me wonder if the Kaminoans forced them too. Definitely would also make sense for Rex. He kept the regulation haircut, because his hair isn't as important to him as being a good CO.

And those are all my thoughts (for now). Feel free to add!

i've seen some FATE genderbend tierlists. and i've heard it explained as that S-tier and not genderbend are nearly interchangeable. BTW no neither okita nor Nagao are S-tier, they're usually B-tier, but ibaraki is usually in the S-tier. blah blah blah. personally my favorite genderbends are the 1s that could work, or're really nifty

I like most of them tbh, AND ALSO, there aren't as many as one would think

Like fate is "known" for this trope of making historical men into women but like, compared to the overall number of figures who kept their historical gender(?) , its not that many?

Putting a read more because i just start going into the ones i remember and sht, ALSO ITS MESSY AS HELL BECAUSE IM TYPING AS I REMEMBER and i make a lot of clarifications because i like to overexplain myself!

And ANOTHER clarifications are

1. This is all written from what i personally remember and interpreted from the source materials

2. Me saying this isn't stopping anyone from continuing to Headcanon something different

Some of them are like "yeah i was a woman all along who enjoyed the privileges of a man's life while still being a woman but ig people didnt like that so they recorded me in history as a man" (iirc francis drake is this one, so is yoshitsune)

The "i was a woman but i faked being a man my entire life to be allowed to be (a king or a samurai)" (okita** and arturia, one of those two had way more issues with that than the other. And its actually important to the way the lore was written and focused that Arturia was born female lmao because uther rejected her at birth because she was a girl and merlin was the one who convinced him "hey we can still put the dragon blood on her and just raise her as a man yknow" and then uther accepted but then died because his daughter was a daughter (that last part was a joke but theres so many men like that in modern time irl too so :/ the whole plot overall is very genderqueer still i wont deny it) (and then theres Okita who also kinda needed to do it but it feels like it was way less like, necessary for hee to do that, so its easy for people to hc okita as trans (i dont personally but that hc has some Great fics))

** I ALSO HAVE TO SAY THAT i dont remember if they actually ALSO retconned that and okita was just Trested as a man because of gender roles but never Actually bothered or cared to say "im a girl actually" even Now, she gets refered to as "okita-kun" or "okita-san" which are (kun specifically?) more masculine honorifics

Saito gets called with the "-chan" honorific sometimes, iirc

These two existing might confuse people on "wait if ushi was allowed to be a woman and do all the things why wasnt okita" and that's probably because misogyny strikes at any time in history yknow? Probably by ushi's time, they didn't care that much or because it was incredibly war time, they could Afford to care. Meanwhile, okita would have had a harder time because it was less violent times so roles were starting to set into more "men have the violent jobs and women stay inside"

Or "i was in fact a man but i always identified more as nonbinary or as a woman" (iirc nero?? At Least at the start of her lore it was like that. Idk if they retconned it to being similar as the first tho. And ofc trans icon leonardo da vinci)

Im not mentioning all of them because im too lazy rn (or am i... i mostly dont remember)

Jing Ke iirc was also interesting, but i CANNOT for the life of me remember what was her deal

And then there's Sugitani Zenjūbō who was a man but then (Kashin Koji???) Turned them into a woman literally just for fun ??

Actually will add im not sure if Kashin Koji and Sen no Rikyu are or not genderbends

Bringing it back to Arthuriana for this but its funny Gareth was Also a woman the whole time but she Had to fake it if she wanted ti be accepted as a knight UNTIL she participated in that joust and thats when she revealed "ACTUALLY im a GIRL I WAS FAKING THE WHOLE TIME" and King Arthur who is also faking to be a man starts sweating profusely but accepts her and declares her a knight still even tho she was a woman because at least she can do that. The king wasn't allowed to be a woman still, tho, unfortunately."

Jacques, who we know was a man, but the eldritch god transitioned her good for her she refuses to talk about it, tho

Oda Nobunaga, who either was 1. Always a woman and history recorded her as a man because she enjoyed the privileges of a man's life (which is also similar to Yoshitsune/Ushiwakamaru's case), or 2. Literally from a different parallel universe where she was always a woman and the worlds are so similar that she never realized

Musashi we know is from an alternate universe as well

Raikou is also verily implied to be a trans woman in some dialogues but in others is the "i had to be pretend to be a man to enjoy the things i wanted to enjoy" (which also just sounds trans but still, you know what i mean) (i love the hc of Raikou being trans and you will take it from me only when i am Dead, and even Then)

Frankenstein's Monster, who was just built as a woman iirc

Xu Fu literally just a woman now, no changes in the lore to try and explain or anything at all, incredibly gay woman at that too. Love that they make it explicit that she is in Love with Yu Mei Ren and yes it IS romantic. Im gonna go cry again btw

Pollux who funnily enough is just (probably accidental Or Probably not) implied to be trans because she and Castor are identical twins and we know identical twins cannot be different sexes (that OR Castor is the trans one)

Quetzalcoatl who is a genderless god (usually regarded as male) who chose a vessel that happened to be a woman and is living her best life

Kukulkan i Assume is the same case as Quetz

Kiichi Hougen is treated as a woman rn because their current body is female, BUT when they met yoshitsune, they were using a male form. They are agender, tho, btw, not a woman.

Some people might wonder why arent there any genderbends of Female historical figures Into Men in Fate and to that i will point to hundreds of years of history that bury female and queer accomplishments and history by pretending they were all men becsuse "no way a woman could do this"

JUST like Fate plays into with some of the genderbends (like i said, Francis Drake or Ushiwakamaru)

So if they did that it would just, be normal misogynistic history ? Good old "no way women are as competent as a man"

The Light Fury Should’ve been aquatic and have the dragons come to a compromise - the movie and books are very different so it wouldn’t change much.

I have read all the book multiple times so I know my sht.

It could’ve been a thing of when the sky meets the sea and that her design has like blue, with bigger fins for swimming and it would explain her smoothness. The Light Fury would still be wild but have more of a connection too.

For Example:

Toothless stays and doesn’t become King of the Hidden World in one day, he meets more Night Furies (Family Found) and discovers the sea version of the Night Fury (Light Furies). Cause the Hidden World is in the sea (You can’t tell there isn’t some magic in that world) it would make sense to have openings hidden all over the world.

This would fix the issue of food, room, and cannibal dragons such as the Deathgripper, Skrill, Scauldron, Death Song ect.

This would set into motion the end of the Riders journey as they settle down, still preaching and showing the world of peace with dragons.

The kids at the end can be shown bonding with their own dragon, it doesn’t have to be Toothless’ kids. This would also fix the issue that the Nightlight would be logically sterile, killing off the NF.

There would be no cursed inbreeding (that screen cap haunts me) and the modern stuff wouldn’t happen.

In that Universe its Vikings, Norsemen and others from around the world.

Another thing to add on,

During the flight scene it isn’t a vanishing thingy, because that would make no sense for a Night Fury but it would for a Light Fury.

Making them more unique.

It would be more of the deleted scene where they play and the Light Fury has a personality that isn’t worse than cardboard. Tbh, the NF is cool enough to not need anymore abilities. I do like the trust fall they do - some birds to that with the life partner and it’s sweet.

Even if most die but--

Overall, if LF share the same intellegence as NF then the LF should’ve seen what Hiccup means to her partner.

And that nothing will break them apart

I can see why people like the third movie and I respect that they like it, however, it just doesn’t sit right with me and I’d like the show a small portion of my views if I would elect to keep the LF partner.

I can like certain aspects of something I overall dislike, everyone can so don’t be an ass and harass anyone. Your a pretty shitty person if you do (or have double standards with it).

THE BATTLE OF WINTERFELL (SPOILER ALERT)

So yeah, I can't believe my Lyanna "we named you King in the North" Mormont is dead. She was true to her word. In the end, she wasn't knitting by the fire while her men fought for her.

With Theon's death, D&D just proved that Sansa's not meant to be with him. I think they're setting her up for a Lannister brother (Jaime, if I had my way).

Brienne of Tarth is alive and well! My favorite scene on tonight's episode must have been Jaime and Brienne fighting back to back and helping the other when the wights became too many to handle.

But seriously, WTF IS WRONG WITH THE WAR COUNCIL?!!! Melisandre lighting the Dothrakis' arakhs was cool, but then I realized something. WHY THE FCK DID THEY CHARGE?! They weren't armoured and their arakhs were not made of dragonglass or valyrian steel, so why? If the strategy was meant to at least damage the front lines of the dead, they failed. What happened was a slaughter! It's like Robb sending two thousand of his men to die all over again, except this was a complete failure. They've got Winterfell, so why let the Dothraki charge and be slaughtered, which would only decrease their numbers and add to those of the dead. They didn't even burn the fallen soldiers, so when the Night King raised his damned icy cold hands, the dead gained more soldiers. Who even planned that sht?! Should have let Jaime Lannister helped, tbh. I mean, he did outsmart Tyrion and Dany once when he "went where they weren't." And Jon, by the seven, what did he do? Chased the Night King, got his ass handed to him, proceeded to cut through wights to get to Bran, sees Sam struggle, thought for gods know how long if he should help HIS FRIEND, decided not to, ran, cut more wights, and finds himself face-to-face with an undead dragon. In the end, Jon was busy dodging blue dragonfire and accepts his fate. Gods know he tried, he did, but what he and Dany did with the dragons, chasing the Night King through the thick fog instead of trying to help in the actual fighting below, I think that was stupid. It's really simple: U cant see sht, help in the other fight.

But kudos to D&D for breaking my non-existent heart. The fighting and deaths of my favorite characters reminded me of The Hobbit: BOTFA! I literally screamed when Beric died because his sacrifice was like Hodor's...holding back wights until the bitter end.

Lastly, thank you, D&D, for not killing Jaime, Sansa, Brienne, and Arya.

sideblog muse: au colorless king overview

take my rambling!

the general concept for my au colorless king is !!!! so sad for him. like yeaah i do a lot of jokes and whatnot, i even call him ‘noodle’, but the reality of that au is that he was just a young teen who got swept into the game of kings, and even if he’s mostly unaware of it, he isn’t wholly himself anymore. he doesn’t become a killer, he’s not malicious, but he can’t go back to who he was before inheriting the colorless king’s title. his real body’s gone, and with it, most of his memories. deep down there’s some piece of the original boy left, but it’s more of a curse than any comfort.

basically, his name is avarna (meaning ‘colorless’) and his early life somewhat parallels saruhiko??ish. he comes from a family who . . . pretty much ignores him. he was an accident. his parents give him food if they can be bothered to remember to and they provide him with clothing and shelter that’s about it. anything else he owns, he worked and paid for by himself. he sees himself as a nobody kid from a nobody family and all he wants to do is get the hell out of ‘home’ as soon as he graduates high school. he’s got like one friend in the whole universe who comes from a similar situation and they want to get out of this mess together because their lives just suck and without each other it’s a wonder if they’d even make it through.

one day, the day ichigen dies, he’s struck with a sudden surge of power and ‘oh sht i can possess ppl’ which UNDERSTANDABLY freaks him the hell out, especially as all their memories start pounding his brain in. it’s almost impossible to control, he can’t make eye contact with other people without triggering his ability some days and other days it’s fine, as if he’d never had the power at all. little by little it begins to take its toll. his thoughts and speech become muddled, he has a cacophony of voices that don’t align with his own floating around his head, it’s outright terrifying to him??? after accidentally possessing numerous people, he runs away and hides in a dingy warehouse, trying to get control over himself and keep his thoughts straight. he’s gotten better with managing his powers to the point he doesn’t unwillingly take over someone with a look, but the damage is done: his memories are becoming blurred with those that don’t belong to him. his friend is there to comfort him best he’s able-- if he didn’t abandon him in the past, he sure won’t do it now; they’re together to the end . . . which is what happens.

in the warehouse, a fire breaks out (cause unknown tbh, i didnt think that far ahead dkjflsdfd, maybe set by some low-tier JUNGLE members??? or just electrical and random, dunno). in the chaos, his friend gets trapped inside and dies. this devastates avarna-- he’s already unraveling and he doesn’t have any place to go, he’s slipping away without actually dying, LITERALLY too as his body begins to ....ghostify??? and even his sense of touch is fading away, it’s just so much he can’t deal with it

luckily (???) for him, he’s picked up by scepter 4, because you do look a little funky when your physical form starts de-materializing while crying at the k universe equivalent of 7-eleven. offhandedly, saruhiko ( @spiteful-megane ) tosses him a cheap fox mask to hide his face because YIKES WHAT A MESS. he’s latched onto saru because of his gesture-- it’s the last act of humanity he experienced and likely the last thing he ever felt before his powers basically swallowed his soul.

at this point, the colorless king can’t recall his own name, nor his life before winding up with s4, he doesn’t even seem to realize he’s an oddity, but he seems happy so long as he can float around saru who is stuck on babysitting duty and definitely not getting paid enough reisi please do something. no one’s really sure how to handle him because... he’s essentially an incorporeal noodle (hence the nickname).

junhong was my bias ever since day one. when i first saw him in the one-shot mv i was like “you. you with the blue-ish hair. i don’t know who you are, but you’re already my favorite” and he’s been my bias ever since.

but yugyeom? yugyeom was a ride. when i was still learning their names, he was the last. i was like “oh so the one with the white hair is bambam. the other one is yugyeom, then”. i thought that on the fateful tuesday i met them. sunday i was already like “i can’t believe i’ll go so long without seeing him” when i had to go to my grandma and spend a few hours with little to no access to internet.

but? they’re my babies? precious maknaes? weird? tol? dance really well? A+ vocals and A+ raps? the brightest smiles? you bet.

16.Are you the kind of friend you would want to have? If so, why? i guess? i really listen to people and i’m that kind of person who just;;; considers people my friends even after ages of not talking to them. yeah, i guess i need someone like that as my friend;;; lmao
