I didn’t have any expectations when I started shipping Mergana. I mean, I knew from day 1 that she would turn evil, I just wasn’t sure how. I knew they’d never get together because that’s not how the story goes. I knew he’d probably kill her. But the way they made her evil opened up so many possibilities, and the writers passed them up. They never went into how betrayed she must have felt when she found out who Emrys was, or how much Merlin must have blamed himself. We didn’t even get a magic fight. We got “I blame myself for what you’ve become” (which I appreciate) and then bam, sword. Even a sword fight would be sufficient. If they wanted to do this, why not just have her evil at the beginning like most pop culture Arthurian legend stuff? They set up all of this character development and showed her struggle in season 2, and then Merlin’s betrayal, and they just forget about it? It’s still one of my favorite ships, but HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE A MAGIC FIGHT BETWEEN THE MOST LEGENDARY MAGICAL MORTAL ENEMIES OF ALL TIME?!

I don’t think you people understand. I have wanted Morgana to know for SO FUCKING LONG. Yes, I want Arthur to find out, but fucking hell, think about how betrayed she must feel all over again. Merlin is the WORST possible person it could have been. I JUST HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS RIGHT NOW.

In Prose Merlin,Pendragon is crowned as rightful king by Ambrosius Aurelius. The Danes that Vortigern brought into the land rebel against him and the Christians. Pendragon in turn lays siege to Angier's Castle.

In the Vulgate, Pendragon is made King. The Saxons that Vortigern brought into the land fight him. And he lays siege to Hengist's Castle.

Merlin tells Vortigern that the red dragon (symbolizing Vortigern) will be burned by the white dragon (symbolizing Constance's sons, Pendragon and Uter)

Vortigern asks Merlin where Constance's sons are. Merlin tells him that they'll invade in three month's time. Merlin immediately flees to Fr. Blaise in Northumberland as Vortigern fortifies his castle and tower.

Pendragon and Uther arrive to the british shores. The people defect to them upon learning who they were. Vortigern and allies make their last stand in the Castle. Pendragon lays siege on the castle and has it burned. Vortigern and allies are all burned alive in it as well.

And thus the White Dragon burns the Red Dragon.
