The White Ball, Joseph-Marius Avy.
Avy was a French artist and was responsible for this very dynamic painting of a Bal Blanc, which was held for young women and their chaperones, to teach them etiquette and dancing before they had to dance at a real ball.

Joseph-Marius AVY (1871-1939)
Fêtée
Joseph-Marius Avy - French painter known as Marius Avy, was born into a wealthy family. He painted landscapes, genre scenes, especially on the elegant Parisian environment, and wall decorations. His father was a businessman. After his first studies he manifested the desire to undertake the path of art, following his own inclinations. He was therefore sent to Paris, where he was a pupil of Léon Bonnat and Albert Maignan.
