The game was over, and Jordan had once again led his team to victory. The guys showered and decided to go out to celebrate at some club; however, Jordan told them he would catch up with them later. He wanted to take a long, relaxing shower. He opened his locker and began to undress, stripping off his sweat-soaked uniform. His entire huge, muscular black body glistened in the lamplight against all the sweat covering him.

The scent was strong, masculine, and musky, but it was hard to tell if it was him or the school locker room in general. He pulled out his towel and wrapped it around his waist; however, before walking to the showers, he heard a pair of hooves hit the floor and turned to see who it was. “Whoever you are, come out of there,” he commented to the person spying on him as he placed his hands on his hips.

happy valentine’s day <3

a gentle reminder that ronan dreamt adam a watch that told the time wherever ronan was because it was the closest he could get to a love letter. and that instead of saying “i love you” (too easy, too basic) adam says “tamquam” and ronan says “alter idem” which not only literally means “as if a second self” but also implies that adam was the one to start saying it in the first place.

a gentle reminder that the line “i suppose…she makes me quiet. like henrietta” exists and was spoken by gansey about blue in answer to the question “how do you know you love her?” and that blue would do anything for gansey because he’s the first person she calls when she needs to escape because he. makes. her. quiet. too.

and, finally, a gentle reminder that declan wrote “you were the ending i chose for myself” because he wanted to be happy with jordan, to have a life with her. and a reminder that jordan’s first sweetmetal, the very thing that keeps her awake and alive, is a portrait of declan lynch.

honestly i think the real tragedy of Declan, what truly makes him as compelling as he is, is his self awareness. there are plenty of repressed characters around, they're a dime a dozen. but Declan in particular makes me go feral because he is excruciatingly aware of the act. of the part he plays, why he plays it, and why he can't stop. we see him in the process of repressing himself, over and over, choosing to do it again, consciously and deliberately making that sacrifice anew every minute of every day all while knowing what he truly wants and that he's not in a position to be allowed to have it. there's something particularly and painfully poignant about that.
