The Little Shop of Horrors (1960)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Normally for vintage horror, I gravitate towards my main man Hitchcock. However, this was a very pleasant surprise. Firstly, I thought this was actually the version with Rick Moranis, but I thoroughly enjoyed this original version from the 60s.
This had great pacing, tension and characters. I really enjoyed this horror as palette cleanser for the more modern horror movies I have been watching. Especially because it had a bit of a sci-fi twist, which I’m not typically fond of.
Also, Audrey Junior’s voice was so funny to me. Mostly because it sounded so fruity. “Feed me!~” 💅🏻
Watch this if:
you have houseplants you would like to be weary of
you like George Crabtree from Murdoch Mysteries
the “quirky vintage horror” genre is yet to be discovered

The Birds (1963) (more serious horror, man vs nature)

This is one of the oldest movies I have reviewed(second to Citizen Kane). Seeing young Jack Nicholson is a treat for me.
The story concept is by no means wholly original. Green Thoughts is a 1932 story by John Collier about a man-eating plant. The Flowering of the Strange Orchid is a 1894 short story by H.G. Wells. "The Reluctant Orchid" is a 1956 short story by Arthur C. Clarke.
The Little Shop of Horrors is a 1960 American horror comedy film directed by Roger Corman, written by Charles B. Griffith, starring Jonathan Haze, Jackie Joseph, Mel Welles, Dick Miller, and Myrtle Vail.

Der stark verspätete Gedenkfilm für den legendären Meister kostengünstiger Schauerlichkeiten und unermüdlichen Talentförderer Roger Corman. Was will man dazu sagen? Könnte man prima ein Musical draus machen.

Whenever I do a TMA s1 relisten I love love love finding things that ended up changing over the next few seasons as the show became more fully fleshed out. Tim being serious and Sasha being the joker? Iconic. Whatever the fuck entity was leaving bags of doll heads and prayers on some random doorstep? Who even are you. How could you do that. What’s your number.
Anyway I need more of these to keep going thanks
