When the trial gives him phenomenal shape-shifting abilities, Gomez learns his new “freedom” requires surviving a superpowered war fought on the streets of NYC.    Alright this is cute.  The opening is eye-catching and while Max does break the fourth wall, I could have done without that, it piques the curiosity about what’s going on.  Then to flashback and start at the beginning which will eventually take us to the present well it’s a good solid tactic.  I’m not so sure I like the distinction in genetic make-up that is being touted here, the idea of being irradiated and building a resistance to that makes much more sense considering all the illegal waste dumping that happens annually.  I just don’t like the idea of a genetic difference so that folks can “legit” use that they are superior. It rankles my feathers.  Aside from that I think that this has some great promise to it and that these candidates that have the right circumstances to gain abilities will make for some interesting reading.    I like the way that this is being told.  The story & plot development that we see through how the sequence of events unfold as well as how the reader learns information is presented exceedingly well.  The character development that we see through the narration, the dialogue, the character interaction as well as how we see them act and react to the situations and circumstances which they encounter spotlights their emerging personalities extremely well.  The pacing is excellent and as it takes us through the pages introducing the characters, the story and the world they live in to us the more we want to see.      I like how we see this being structured and how the layers within the story begin to emerge, grow and evolve.  The layers within the story work to open up new avenues to be explored and while some will be and others won’t be, they all add some nice depth, dimension and complexity to this story.  How we see everything working together to create the story’s ebb & flow as well as how it moves the story forward are extremely well achieved.      The interiors here are bloody fantastic!  Gosh the linework is exquisite and how the varying weights and techniques are being utilised to create this level & quality within the attention to detail throughout is extraordinary to see.  That we see backgrounds being utilised as they are and how they enhance and expand the moments while also working within the composition of the panels to bring out the depth perception, sense of scale and the overall sense of size and scope to the story is exceptionally well handled.  The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a remarkably talented eye for storytelling.  The various hues and tones within the colours being utilised to create the shading, highlights and shadow work show a sensational eye for colour and how it works.  I like the boldness and the subtlety that we see throughout the book and then there are moments that stand out because they just look badarse.   ​    I’m not thrilled with the Amanda Waller knock off and that she basically made sure Max had no options but hers was the worst underhanded mishegas I’ve ever seen.  She’s not a good guy no matter how much you dress it up otherwise, nope don’t trust this one.  Still she’s a good motivator to expose the whole thing and put her arse behind bars.  This has some strong, intense and interesting writing, some familiar characterisation and these mind blowing interiors, yeah if this continues like this it’s going to be a pretty strong and interesting series.

You feel your body shift slightly, readjusting to the light thats now casting itself directly in your eyes. The covers against your arms are slowly pulled away, as a figure looms over you, admiring your sleeping figure.

The familiar voice of Pest makes you even sleepier, you can hear his smile while he talks, his voice calming your body down into the mattress. You can already tell he's been up, for one because he's never up before you, and two, by his hand that caressed your cheek, trying to get you up gently so you could see what he's done.

Your head leans into his touch, letting out a sigh. That is until he moves both hands to your shoulders, grasping onto you tightly before shaking you up, hearing his little giggles after your eyes shoot open.

"Oh there you are! My little ball of sunshine is awake! How're ya feeling? Ready to start the day?"

Theres a moment in between your adrenaline rush and the culture shock of being shaken awake, that you see his eyes, and realize that hes just Pest. Your Pest, trying to bring you out of bed, just so you could begin your day with him.

he is ecstatic to be working after-hours, he recently posted a photo of you 2 together smiling and captioned it "After Hours of Production" and is loving all of thr compliments flowing in, its his ego thats just being fed more and more

he prefers to stay on set rather than go somewhere else just so he can embody his emotions fully, and feel like hes in his best character so he can nail this with you

hes also a bit nervous—but hides it well— that hes gonna mess up infront of you, or do something so that youd see him as 'lesser' of an actor that he thinks he is, his self image needs you to think hes this successful guy

he didnt fully process he had feeling for you because he almost qualifies as a workaholic, but he loves his job and the fame it brings him. it took really working with you throughout every scene and spending more time with you, eventually calling you out on little lunch dates, or 'colleague bonding time' as he calls it ( yet the only colleague he spends time with is you strangely )

the scene you two are going over is a slower, heartfelt scene, where the two main characters begin to confess their love for eachother after Georges character had ditched town, the denouement of the movie

your feeling a bit nervous, and it seems that the room grows smaller each step you take towards George, seeing him sprawled out on the directors chair, giggling at his phone, till he finally notices you and takes a hint

"It's great, it's seriously.. they love us! Have you seen the post yet? Even my critics are excited for us!"

he's over the moon about it, almost forgetting what hes here to practice

however, in his head its a bit different. hes a rather calm man, always being on the more nonchalant side, and typically someone who doesnt struggle with having to flirt or joke around, so he tries to keep this guard up, yet the way youre pulling him up by his shoulder to make sure he moves has him questioning if he can really do this

"Alright alrightt, patience. Let me get my script and I'll meet you on set."

realization has yet to hit him that its just you and him, but somewhere inside him hes a little less confident that it'll be stunning, or excellent, hes more worried that the scene will have you leaving before he got to spend enough time with you

youre standing there, the lights dimmer than usual because you know thats how he prefers it, sitting on the makeshift ledge that the scene is set on

he does a little jog over, apologizing casually then sighing as he sits down, getting comfortable and noticeably closer to you, till his hand is set next to yours

hes definitely the type of person to pop a mint, or gum before acting tbh

you begin the scene, the you are an eager, but secluded lover, who's feelings are diminished by his town's perspective on love

george is a confident and devoted man whose methods of courting you have been pushed away until this confrontation

its dramatic and has close tension, but georges atmosphere closes everything around you but him, and he begins with his lines

your eyes are attracted to his as he begins, a passionate actor whose hands are now on yours, holding them and caressing your right hand with his thumb

the room feels like its changed, and your face is getting hotter, slowly moving yourself closer to him, yet hesitant to see how it goes

"I dream of the nights where you're by my side, in my bed, and not a passing vision after a nightmare. Just join me."

his voice hitches at the last sentence, the tone changing to something more demanding, and foolishly enough it feels like hes talking to you, man to man

the farther you two get, the more the rehearsal goes slightly off track, a misplaced hand or a smile that seems so genuine

"Take my hand as you'll take my heart, its no longer mine solely."

theres a silence between the two of you, and in that moment he slowly smiles at you before taking your hand and kissing it, trying not to exit character completely, his aura is carefree as he speaks

"Christs sake just let me kiss you already, your eyes haven't looked away from mine yet."

hes straightforward and honest, taking the hint after you laugh to pull you in by the lower back and admire you from a closer view

he respects you but he can only play along for so long until he breaks, his confidence tells him it'll be fine so he acts on his thoughts casually alot🫶🫶

Tybalt Capulet- Sleepover

Tonight was a very important night for me. It was my first night in my new home.

However, as excited as I was to have my own place, a large place (at least for one person) at that, I was terrified.

I’ve never been alone. I’ve always lived with my parents in their mansion which was constantly filled with servants and visitors there for business. I was never alone, there was always someone at least a few doors down.

Now I was here all alone. It was dark outside but there wasn’t a star to be seen. I was in my living area with every light on watching tv, terrified to go to my room and sleep.

What if someone breaks in? A fire? A heart attack? There would be no one to help me.

Then my overthinking was interrupted by loud knocking. I jumped from my couch terrified and almost screamed, but luckily I stopped myself.

“Who is it?” I questioned.

“It’s me, Tyblalt! Sorry I’m here so late! However since you’re awake can you open the door. I have some things to give you!”

I sighed putting my hand over my fast paced heart. It was just my good friend Tybalt. I had expected him earlier today as he had mentioned coming over before with gifts from his aunt and uncle who do business with my parents. Also he mentioned just wanting to visit me, we hadn’t had any alone time in a long while.

Me and him were always close and always went off together, just us two. It was fun. So many stolen glances. So many stolen kisses. So much happiness.

Me and him weren’t anything though. We were just close friends, who happened to be too close at times.

I opened the door for him and he came in carrying and gift bag.

“Do you not have a maid” He questioned.

“No, I wanted to try living in my own with no help, which isn’t going so well.” I replied.

“What do you mean?”

“Well it’s really scary here. I’ve never been alone, let alone at night. I’m so worried that something bad might happen.”

He sat down the bag and got closer to me, “Would you like me to stay then?” He asked with that sharp smile of his.

God, he was so gorgeous. That smile always had me head over heels.

“You don’t have to if you don’t w-“

“If I didn’t want to I wouldn’t have offered.” He said sternly.

I didn’t know what else to say so I just nodded and led him into the living room.

“If you’re tired you can go upstairs and take any room you’d like, but I want to keep watching tv.” I sat down on the couch, Tybalt sat beside me. “Oh and what did, im assuming lady capulet since she’s the one who usually deals with gift giving, send you with?”

“Oh it was just a tea kettle and a card saying congratulations, and asking if you’d still be attending the dinner party along with your parents this Thuresday.”

“Oh how thoughtful of her.” I rolled my eyes playfully. I never cared much for their business affairs or fancy parties, but it’s all they cared about when it came to me. The Capulets always made sure to stay on my parents good side to keep good business, and one of the ways they did that was through me. They’d give inexpensive gifts and would always make sure I was attending their parties, and when my parents were around them they’d always say sweet things to me. Lady Capulet was always kind to me in the coldest way.

Tybalt let out a little laugh and asked, “You are attending though? I would like it if you did attend.”

“I’ll think on it.” I joked knowing full well that I’d go just because he asked for me to.

After a little more chitchatting I became tired, but I kept fighting my sleep. I was enjoying his presence too much and I didn’t want to lose any time with him. After all, I don’t get to see him much anymore.

“Are you tired my lady?”

I shook my head, “not really. Just keep talking.” He smiled at me and continued on with our little conversation, I laid my head down on the arm of the couch.

I felt myself slowly slipping away to the sound of his voice until it was all quiet and my eyes could only see darkness.

During the night I must have moved some, as I woke up laying on his chest. I looked up at him. For someone in such an uncomfortable sleeping position, on a hard couch at that, he looked so peaceful. My movements must’ve startled him though because he began waking up.

I don’t know why but I decided to fake being asleep.

I felt him move some, and when I squinted my eyes open some I saw him looking down at me. He had a tired smile of him face.

His arms wrapped around me gently, as if trying not to wake me.

“Oh y/n, I wish I could wake up to this every morning.”

I felt myself blush a little, but I hoped it wasn’t too noticeable.

Then when he moved his hand to swoop some hair from my face I decided it was a good time to open my eyes.

“Goodmorning.” I said, my voice was still a little strained from sleep. I sat up , not pulling too far away from him though. “You know you should’ve went upstairs and found a bed to sleep in so you wouldn’t be stuck on this couch with me.”

“Why would I want to go all the way up there when I could fall asleep looking at you instead?”

I blushed at the question, “what do you mean by that, mr capulet?” I questioned him playfully.

“Y/n, I love you.” He said so suddenly. I was taken by surprise, and moved in fast stealing a kiss from him. It was an unexpected move, especially coming from me, but we seemed to both enjoy it.

“Oh Tybalt, you don’t know how long I’ve waited to hear those words leave your mouth.”

Then they finally do and they get married and are happy together for a while and then y/n things she might be pregnant. And she gets worried bc tybalt didn't seem to want kids, and she was scared to tell him if she was. And then it turns out y/n is in fact pregnant, but luckily she doesn't have to tell tybalt because he fucking dies.
