🌈What research do you plan on doing for your writing?

it's funny because i'm very anti-gun but for fic purposes i always find myself doing painstaking research on different types of guns and how they work so that it's realistic when i write it [eg for raising cain, for a jackson era joel one shot i've been writing, etc]

also i am constantly researching America because... i have to lol otherwise it's so obvious that i have Never Been.

weeellll a big personal project is that i've planned out the entirety of a short story collection and started writing it. my goal is to spend the next twelve months putting it together and potentially trying to get it published.... we'll see what happens!

blog wise, i want to broaden my horizons and keep writing for a slew of different characters. i have plenty of ideas for joel, but i've also got an ellie williams miniseries i've been planning for a while that i'd like to share. a think a big thing this year will be trying to write more for ellie and abby!

i hope to start on my mountain man Joel series this year! once my javi series is finished it's gonna be a darker series, but i'm still working on figuring it all out and might need someone to bounce ideas off of actually

besides that obviously many, many fics involving Oberyn and his wife, maybe even a small fic or series about an AU with Oberyn, if I find the time

i’ve got my first dbf!joel fic in the works along with a javi au bc i miss that man sm. dbf!joel won’t be til a bit later in the year, but i’d love to try my hand at it!

🎉 How are you going to be kind to yourself if you don't meet your goals?

this i’m not too sure about. i’m pretty good at not beating myself up too much, so i’ll probably do what i normally do if i don’t reach my goal - wallow in self pity for 5 minutes, pick myself up, and then assess how i can improve. i’ll probably treat myself to some more fics tbh 💀 occupy my mind while keeping the creative juices flowing.

I’m super pumped for KM&SFM. It’s a TLOU pre and post outbreak AU featuring Joel and an OFC named Emma that I’ve been tinkering with for a while now. I know I’ve shared this snippet before, but it’s some of the first bits I wrote for this story, and it makes me laugh:

ah! new. hmm. well, i think it would be nice to actually dive into one of the longer joel fics i've got cooking. we've got no apocalypse au farm!joel, undertaker!joel, road trip au!joel, hunger games!joel...all of these are super super in the beginning stages. but i'd like to do another long fic, i think! (i have not forgotten about the other folks on my master list i just....don't know when they'll be back in my brain, you know?)

i also have some gen fic ideas for tlou that i really want to dig into. there's a time loop fic about ellie in part ii that i need to write this month and then a longer fic about ellie and joel's capacity for violence that i've been chipping away at that i'd love to finish!

as far as original work goes (not that anyone really wants to hear about that) i have like 2-3 sci-fi ideas i'm kicking around that i want to work on so i can double down on a draft come November. woo!

🥳 How are you going to celebrate when you achieve one of your writing goals?

uh. i'll buy myself a poppi at the grocery store and probably let myself not write for a day. and maybe tell a friend about it and feel proud for a bit. :)

so i mentioned ranchhand! joel which is going to be my "big" project a bit closer towards the spring/summer seasons. but i am also going to pick up a fic i had stored in my lil "vault" and then said i would bring out but never did lmao its called cause it's delicate (you know this one doni) and i do plan to write it later this year! it's not new but it's new ya know?

to actually get on a good schedule/rotation. i know it's important to write wherever the inspiration is but jesus it would be so nice to at least have some kind of organized schedule
