I pushed passed him. He grabbed my hand and swung me back towards him. Then he pushed me against the wall and... he kissed me. He ran his thumb along my jawline and down my throat, hips pinning me to the wall. He kissed me slowly and with intensity, and once I got over the mind-numbing shock and comprehended what was actually happening, it was incredible. I had never been kissed like that before. We melted together. Every movement of mine was somehow perfectly mirrored by his. My heart was pounding so hard I knew he must be able to feel it and I was sure my legs were giving way, but he held me up, pushed me harder against the wall. I grabbed a handful of his hair, remembering all the times I'd dreamed of doing it. I let my hand drift down his back and pulled him even closer to me. It all happened so quickly. I heard him make a low kind of growl and lean into me. His hand slid down my leg behind my knee, drawing it to him. I moaned and felt him tense.

"Our knowledge is immeasurable, our power beyond compare. Yet I could only know what wine tastes of; I could not sip it or roll it on my tonuge. I knew the tartness of a lemon, but could not wince from it. It became unbearable to witness the sun's power and watch it strip a desert dry, burn a forest bare, and yet I could not so much as feel it warm my skin...Those senses are humans' defining strenth - and their weakness."

📕🔖❤️ for the book ask :D
📕 What book has had the biggest impact on your life, and why?
I mean, I think the book that had the biggest impact on my life is the first YA book that really got me into reading. Cause like... my life turned out a certain way because I made the friends that i made by having a certain hobby
That book is Between the Lives by Jessica Shirvington. I think I haven't read that in years, I don't even know if I would still like it now but it definitely had a huge impact akshs
🔖What quote from a book resonated with you deeply?
"Fear is like a Phoenix. You can watch it burn a thousand times and still it will return." - Crooked Kingdom, Leigh Bardugo
Oh, good old Leigh Bardugo. This quote stuck with me for a long time because it was around a time where I just used to ignore problems and hope they go away that way
❤️Who is your all-time favorite author, and what makes their writing so special to you?
I want to say Cassandra Clare, because her books are special to me and I would say it if it weren't for all the controversial things she's done.
But also Rainbow Rowell. Like Fangirl really helped me so much with my own writing and it just resonated with me so much and she got that fanfiction writer experience spot-on.

What's ur fav food, drink, movie, song, musician, tv series, book, celebrity crush, cartoon character and fav person in history.
Well now this is interesting (thanks for the ask):
fav food:- Lamb, pasta, garlic bread.
drink:- Apparently anything made for apples.
movie:- Most Christmas themed ones but I also have a major soft spot for American Gangster and L.A. Confidential.
song, musician:- I'll answer these two together simply under the banner of proper American Country Music, anything from the likes of Merle Haggard, George Strait, Alan Jackson etc.
tv series:- When it's not medical or legal based, then definitely The Simpsons.
book:- The answer to this is actually a series called The Violet Eden Chapters by Jessica Shirvington.
celebrity crush:- Andy Garcia
cartoon character:- Kai from Lego: Ninjago.
fav person in history:- Lucky Luciano (what can I say, I'm a secret mob fan).

Violet and Phoenix will always be with me. In truth I wish they had ended up together. Like no hate for Lincoln but Phoenix was there for her when her life was falling apart and she needed someone to talk to (before she told Steph). I mean she literally just found out she’s Grigori and that Lincoln is her partner or whatever and he never told her. I mean I know he wasn’t supposed to until the time was “right” but I mean ugh!!!!! But Phoenix was there and was her friend through her tough time and he was always there. Even though everything that happened between them they still had a bond I believe was stronger than her and Lincoln’s. Her and Phoenix had chemistry and real feelings. He never lied to her about what he was or anything and she trusted him. And the ending of Empower was just 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭!!!!! #VioletandPhoenixforever!!!! They were a more relatable couple than her and Lincoln. I mean I love Lincoln but Phoenix is a better person than he will ever be!!!! Jessica Shirvington should have made her and Phoenix be together. I mean she loved him but Lincoln was always gonna be her whatever and I get that he was her first love and all but i mean she slept with Phoenix and everything and I just can’t even!!!!! I wonder if Phoenix ever found love in his human life. I mean Violet said good bye to him and never saw him again but i always wondered what happened to Phoenix after everything. Did he live a long and happy life? Did he have children? Was he happy? Did he think of her wherever he went? Did they ever see each other again? Like so many questions. 😔 Phoenix deserved happiness more than anyone IMO! Like he went through a lot and he sacrificed a lot and I hope he was happy in the end. I feel for him so much like poor Phoenix!!!!

It's not fair that I know how great we would be together, except that we can't. It's not fair that, even though I know I'll never have you, I had planned everything - the candles, the lilies - replayed the words I wanted to say a million times when you and I finally made love. I get that it's not fair,

So I'm rereading an old YA and now I want to give angels daddy issues
This is going to be the most into-the-void headcanon ever, because the series it's about is from 10 years ago, but here we go :'D
I had a wave of nostalgia (or a 20s age crisis?) and decided to reread Embrace by Jessica Shirvington (2010) that I read in 2014 as a 14 year old. It's about a girl who finds out she's half angel (and very special owo). There's exile angels she has to go capture and there's a love triangle between her, the other half-angel good boi and the sexy exile angel boi. Classic 2010s YA stuff.
That's not what I'm here about. NO, I'm here for Nox and Onyx, two side characters, who are father and son according to me.
Who did you say?
Nox and Onyx.
Nox is Violets mentor Angel (of dark), and Onyx is an exile of dark. He stabs half-angel boi. (We don't hold that against him.)
First thing Violet says when she meets Nox is that he reminds her of Onyx. She's met other dark angels (or, well exiles) before. She never mentions that they're similar to one another. But Onyx and Nox specifically? There's a resemblance there.
Does Onyx and Nox ever speak to each other in Embrace? No. Do they even mention each other in passing? NOPE.
But they're both dark, and they wear black suits, Nox looks older than Onyx and they have an X in their name so what more do you need?! xD
So the angels can have kids in this book?
No. Maybe? I don't know. The whole debacle with half-angels is that an angel can share their essence to a baby whose parent died within the first 12 days of their life. But angel babies? I don't actually know, but here's my thinking based on stuff we know in the canon:
Lilith is the mother of bad boi Exile angel, so they can have kids. Phoenix also mentions that Exiles used to "take women to bear them children". So there's parentage. Lilith did have a physical form at that point.
There's also a thing that female angels are somehow rare, so maybe that's why the angels reproduce very rarely?
Nox and Uri (another angel, but of light) are brothers, twins specifically unless my reading comprehension is failing me, so obviously there's family ties in the angel realm.
The actual headcanon
So right now I have decided that Onyx has daddy issues which is why he went to earth. Nox worries about him on the daily but is a complete tsundere about it 💕 And sometimes Nox visits Onyx in his dreams and is like "Could you please just come home?" And Onyx would be all "It's not a phase Dad, I like food and sex and killing grigori... 😒"
TL;DR Nox is Onyx Dad and there's nothing anyone can say to change my mind.

YA FANTASY BOOKS THAT YOU’VE PROBABLY NEVER HEARD OF - BUT YOU SHOULD READ
This list is entirely Pacific authors because they deserve more love and attention! If you like these I can do more xo
1. Lady Helen and the Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman
This incredible trilogy is by Australian author Goodman who mashes demon/spirit hunting with high society regency England. Think Jane Austen/Bridgerton with underground societies crossed with fantasy and mystery. This is an incredible read, and genuinely one of the only series I’ve ever read that uses the love triangle trope in as a compelling plot device.
Description: 18 year old Lady Helen is eager to make a good impression at her presentation to the queen after rumours that her parents death’s were due to the being traitors to England and the British crown. All she wants is to prove she is not as reckless and untrustworthy as her beloved mother, however she cannot seem to quite fit in with society and has bursts of impulses that are borderline scandalous. After one of her maids goes missing and nobody seems to care about finding her, Helen secretly tries to find the girl. Helen begins to see strange changes in her life, such as seeing a blue light surrounding people, and one gentleman, who is rumoured to have killed his wife, can’t seem to leave her alone.
2. The Embrace Series by Jessica Shirvington
Also known as the Violet Eden Chapters, this 5-part book series also by and Australian author is an excellent read for those looking to get into YA and is highly suited for young teens. This series is urban fantasy/contemporary fantasy. I first read this when I was 14 and probably read it again once or twice a year, I love it. It may annoy older readers as the main character does make a lot of questionable choices but if you keep in mind she is supposed to be young and naive in the first book, and the fact that everyone around her is taking advantage of her without her realising it then it’s a great book. This was Shirvington’s first published series so you can really see her writing get better as the series goes on. Most of the world building happens in the second book, with the climax full of emotions, heartbreak, love and action happening in the 4th and 5th books which are amazing.
Description: Violet Eden just turned seventeen and got accepted into her dream art school. All she needs now is to get the boy - her older best friend and mentor who seems to be holding himself at arms length with her. As she tries to get closer to Lincoln she realises he’s keeping big secrets that threaten their friendship. Violet is thrust into a world where nightmares become reality - literally. Are angels and demons real? Was her mother trying to warn her of something more sinister in the last letter she left her before she died? And how does the dark, classy, doting boy she met in a club play into it? Can Violet forgive Lincoln for involving her in a dangerous and terrifying world?
3. The Harp of Kings by Juliet Marillier
This is an intriguing series that I haven’t finished myself yet so don’t kill me if it ends terribly! This is a series by New Zealand author Marillier, who also has another series that I’ve yet to pick up, so if you like her writing style theres plenty to read!
Description: This series follows singer and musician Liobhan, and her equally musically talented twin brother. Both have an ambition to be trained on elite Swan Island, which trains warriors and spies. When asked to accompany Sean Island warriors on a trip as undercover travelling minstrels, Liobhan must make tough decisions to uncover the truth about an other dimension meddling in the affairs of their world, while trying to keep her kingdom safe from scheming political threats.

Blue eyes, dark hair
High cheek bones and fair skin

Highest ranking Grigori due to her angel maker

This is a character created by Jessica Shirvington’s “Embrace” series, I DO NOT own the rights to these characters! This is the American actress Ryan Whitney Newman, who I picture as Violet.
