Yo.... Totally random and not at all related to my Hazbin Hotel OC question here 👀.
Does anybody have any recommendations for a website or links to places where I could find some good references for Kamakura Period menswear? More specifically for warriors/warrior families? I can find articles on the history, but it is a bit difficult to find good pictures of the clothing (at least, with how I'm looking it up. I may just be trash at searching for it lol). Please and thank you!
A sketch of atsuko Hamato in a ryusou (I believe a ryusou is a type of formal wear that is wore in special occasions like wedding or coming of age ceremonies, which was popular during the Ryukyu kingdom period.)
I also did some practice sketches of traditional Japanese hairstyles. I can’t remember their names but I know that two on the bottom were popular during the Heian era.
( But please let me know in comment if you know the names of the hairstyles, historical information about the outfit or any inaccuracies that I might’ve made)
Hello everyone, a little personal project I have on my drafts is updating my human Godzilla design which I wanted to represent as a Japanese man using a Mawashi like the ones on the pics below
The thing is that I wanted him to use it backwards so it mimics the shape of his tail but I couldn't find any information on if there's any cultural significance on using it backwards or if it may be an issue to represent it being used backwards.
So I call out to anyone who may give me any pointers or insight on the matter, as well as other suggestions on clothes that I might modify to give them the tail silhouette feeling
Chinese and Japanese clothing are literally gorgeous and stunning. I literally wanna wear one of those things. Seriously though they are so damn pretty!!
Japanese and Chinese people, your fashion is basically chef's kiss.
