I've been around Vampire: the Masquerade tumblr fandom long enough to observe a distinct, hilarious trend of VtM fandom experience. The fan experience usually goes something like this:
oooo, vampires! Yay! So much lore!
this lore is contradictory on purpose and terribly racist & misogynistic not on purpose. Wtf. Someone (me?) should fix it
An Indiana Jones insert is a Bride of Dracula
We know Indy's dick size
This lore is very silly and I'm going to take what I want and trash the rest. The dick size lore can stay.

terrible fanfic idea: Jan Pieterzoon returns to Amsterdam to discover his retainers have unionized

Have some wholesome JP headcanons
Being one of his retainers comes with a truly robust benefits package, including a comprehensive mental healthcare plan and more PTO than can reasonably be used.
He thinks he's super slick and none of his retainers know about his feeding restriction. They do. They all do. But they play dumb because they don't want to hurt his feelings.
His retainers have a "protect at all costs" policy because 1: they've got a pretty good idea regarding the origin of his feeding restriction, and 2: he's just so endearingly awkward, someone needs to look after him.
Spends an inordinate amount of time playing Tetris. He is very good at it.

Top five VtM characters that are NOT LaCroix, Ming-Xiao, or Nines ;D
@ryttu3k lol damn! XD well I'll make it harder for me by also not having vtmb characters too! XD (and that includes Beckett which is a shame since you know he would've been on this listt!)
5.
Tumblr media
Jan Pieterzoon, he's at number five since the best I've read about him was in the epilogue that wasn't by Gherbod Fleming and gave me a ton of feels. I really like the idea of a Ventrue that actually believes in the noble oblige the clan is meant to have, and the struggles he has to deal with his feeding restriction and having a sire that constantly mindwipes him and tricked him into destroying things that could've protected the world from Gehenna and how angry he was when he found out the truth. I have to admit I like his potential that is expanded on in fandom rather in canon XD
4.
Tumblr media
Lettow Kaminsky from vtm: nightroad, I really enjoyed Lettow as a character and romance option in nightroad, it was refreshing to have a Camarilla Prince who was both a Gangrel and also trying his damnest to do right by those he was responsible for, even when things are falling apart or when things get harder and harder to be morally good. Of course he isn't morally perfect, he still has some shadiness but that'd what you need in order to survive in the World of Darkness, though he tries to be fair especially to the courier. Also his annoyed filled banter with Juilan is really funny! XD
3.
Tumblr media
D’Angelo from vtm: Coteries of New York and Shadows of New York
D' Angelo was one of the higlights of my first playthrough of Coteries and honestly for me his story was one of the strongest in that game. I love that he narrates like an old noir detective(though in this case its him narrating like the main character of his novel) and he really does try to do the right thing even when it can backfire on him and remade himself to help cope with his unlife. He really is interesting and would love to see more of him in later games or in the New York by Night web series.
2.
Tumblr media
Ecaterina the Wise more specially from Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption, although her place in vtm canon is really interesting too. I found Ecaterina an really interesting character in seeing how a person's idealism can take them into some messy places, and her understandable hatred does leave her to joining the Sabbat(which at the beginning weren't so bad but got worse as time went on). She definitely has the scholarly mindset of the older Brujah while also having the passion of the younger Brujah. In the dark ages parts of Redemption she was a sort of good sire to Christof (despite embracing him against his will and all) but its interesting how the years had changed her so much where to the point when they reunite in the modern nights, (we find out in the 'Bad ending' of Shadows of New York) she has Christof break Hana's jaw so she could be Ecaterina's double which is all kinds of screwed up.

Tumblr media
Julia Sowinski from vtm: shadows of new york
Julia is one of the most interesting and relatable protagonists I've played in a vtm game where you don't get to design your character. From her depression, her struggles in the world of darkness and her slowly troubled relationship with her human girlfriend Dakota, I couldn't help but feel for her and relate a little as well. I also enjoyed her sarcastic humor and her observations of the world around her, her interactions with the other characters, her banter and relationship with Qadir al-Asmai was the most enjoyable. There is a lot I could say but that would be getting into too many spoilers and I still need to play through the 'Good ending'
Phew, that was tricky but I hope this answered your question and this was fun to think through why I like each character a lot.

If Mel ever meets Jan Pieterzoon, it's on sight. She'd recognise him in a heartbeat and just go ham.
The rest of the coterie just watches like:

Best Wod merch I found while cruising the wiki.
So we all know shirts, cups, masks, zippos. etc but white wolf troughout it’s existence released some wild ass fucking merch. So here’s the ones I love most. Longer post under read more. More infos are also in additional reblogs
Starting with something normal. The vtm letterheads for pretty much every clan. This one is for toreadors.
Tumblr media
Vtm Action figures! Theres 3 of them of Beckett (which I have), Theo and Lucita. They also actually wanted to make glow in the dark versions of them. Which my friend mentioned would be rather ironic for a lasombra to have. The blurb on the page is cheesy and i love it. They wanted to make werewolf ones too but idk if it ever happened.
Tumblr media
There is this derpy figure of a spiral dancer tho! Minis of werewolf also exist btw but they seem more metalic
Tumblr media
Here are some old vamp and werewolf ones. They look very goofy
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One that’s not weird but cute is this coffin shaped cigarette case (zippos also exist). I had the chance to buy it once but didn’t and kinda regret it now u_u
Tumblr media
This one is one of my favs. The vtm chess set where u play the Cammy and Sabbat. With the king and queen being Jan Pieterzoon, Victoria Ash, Sasha Vykos and Lucita de Argon.
Tumblr media
Mage the Ascension Ethergoggles. This grainy pic is the only one I could find. If anyone has this product pls send pics.
Tumblr media
Moving on with mage again. The tarot set! (which i actually own)
Tumblr media
And lastly, not one but two bladed weapons. First one for werewolf the apocalypse and one for vtm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sadly wraith and changeling don’t rly have much merch for them? Aside from posters and maybe a shirt.

I'm curious abut Sascha Vykos. Do you know which novels or splat books would be good to read to learn more about them?
*cracks knuckles*
Number 1 book you need to understand Sascha's background is the Dark Ages Tzimisce clan novel by Myranda Kalis, which has them as the main character (along with their lover, Ilias cel Frumos) and explains why they're... like that. Just a goddamn amazing character study, also completely heartbreaking and singlehandedly made me change my view of them from "haha wtf what an edgelord" to "they're my baby and I'm gonna fight a methuselah for them". Set between 1232 and 1234, if I've managed to maths right.
Also by Myranda and set around a similar time (shortly after the fall of Constantinople) is the Road of Sin book (set around 1205). Sascha (then called Myca) narrates the introduction and first chapter. It does specifically focus on their history with the eponymous Road, but has a lot of interesting character details, along with their relationship with Ilias.
For modern Sascha, there are two. First is the original Clan Novel Saga (set 1999), although in this case, I'm not recommending just the Tzimisce novel, but rather the compiled editions. There's a bunch of Sascha content in the Assamite book as well, since they're quite involved with one of the characters in it, and it also includes extra, exclusive content, including my two favourite chapters - a story by Lucien Soulban (Sascha's creator), and an epilogue by Janet Trautvetter, mostly about Jan Pieterzoon but with Sascha being fairly prominent in it.
Fair warning, CNS was written in 1999 and has. Mm. Edgelordy moments. We do not talk about The Foetus Thing :|
The other, probably most important one is Beckett's Jyhad Diary, which I would recommend for literally anyone interested in VtM in general. Sascha has minor appearances and mentions in a bunch of chapters, but is extremely prominent in the chapter Dreams & Nightmares (also by Myranda Kalis/Sarro). She also wrote the chapter Azhi Dahaka, another must-read relating to Sascha.
The timing for BJD is... less clear, because at least a few of the people involved have said it's set in 2005, but also there's one chapter where an event that explicitly took place around 1999 or 2000 is said to have taken place "sixteen years ago", so. Let's just call that early 21st century.
Most of the rest of the books are chronicles, plus one city book - their origin book, Constantinople by Night (1197, IIRC?) by Lucien Soulban, Philippe Boulle, and Joshua Mosqueira-Asheim. Others, in chronological order by setting, include Bitter Crusade (two chapters, Fiendish Winter and Dying Embers, the latter covering the Fall of Constantinople in 1204), Under the Black Cross (1225), and a whole bunch of the Transylvania Chronicles (Myca/Sascha appears in book 1 in Dark Tides Cresting (1314), in book 2 in Haceldema (covers the Convention of Thorns, 1493), in book 3 in An Angel's Plea (1680, also has the most hilariously thirsty description of Sascha I've ever seen in my life), and in book 4 in The Accounting (1998).)
Seriously. Here's their Transylvania Chronicles 3 character sheet:
Tumblr media
They appear in two of the Giovanni Chronicles books, three (1882) and four (same, in a flashback that also has my baby Anatole), in the Nightshade scenario of the Gehenna book (1999), although that's since been retconned out of existence, along with chunks of the Clan Novel Saga, mostly to do with the approaching Gehenna stuff, and in particular Anatole's fate. It's still worth reading just for some fascinating ways the world could end. Finally, they appear in the House of Lies chapter of Nights of Prophecy (1999?).
Aside from those, they also have little appearances and mentions in other books, including letters and notes throughout chapter 7 of the Revised corebook, a rather amusing little reference in chapter 4 of the Victorian Age corebook, a detailed profile and character sheet in Children of the Night although that book pisses me off because it put Beckett, Anatole, and Lucita on the front cover but didn't give us sheets for them!, and the opening letter of the V5 Sabbat book, which you can read here (and then ignore the rest of the book and get the Revised-era Guide to the Sabbat instead).
So yes! They show up a lot, and all through the game's history. The three most important ones to read, I think, are the Dark Ages Tzimisce novel, the combined Clan Novel Saga, and Beckett's Jyhad Diary, then the rest just depending on interest in the era or broader story, since Sascha is less involved in those.
Have fun! They're an absolute hot mess of a character and I adore them!

All these characters are from an RPG campaign called; Gehenna's Gates, set in the world of Vampire The Masquerade. Except for Jan Pieterzoon featured in this post, which is a character in the VTM lore. He is present in our campaign, but he is very different from the JP you might know.
Jan Pieterzoon and Samuel Sharbi:
How to explain the relationship between a Ventrue obsessed with the occult and a crazy Sabbath Ravnos? a strange alliance for sure, but together they are an unstoppable, if unlikely, duo. Jan is obviously at the head of the operation, helping Samuel become archbishop of the Sabbath, while he was a Justicar in Venice. Guaranteeing a spy and an ally within the opposing sect, and ensuring that both can achieve their goals. Jan with the obsession of being the man who will stop the Gehenna, and Samuel with the desire to reunite and rebuild the Ravnos clan. Jan will push the London coterie to take control of the city, in order to have indirect control, but the group of misfits will prove to be much more difficult to predict and control than expected. The conciliator will identify an extremely dangerous element in the group, which brings the world closer to Gehenna. so he and Samuel will set out at a good pace to try to put a spoke in his wheels. But things don't go quite as planned for the Ventrue...

Hey guys, are there any characters you admit you'd be guilty of turning into Creator's Pets? I know I'd probably make Jan Pieterzoon and Theo Bell from Vampire the Masquerade into my personal Creator's Pets. Not to mention obnoxiously promoting the Nephtali. XD

VTM Canon Characters when they're smashed:
Theo Bell: Happy drunk. Jan Pieterzoon: Gives you an hour long lecture about something boring after you ask a very simple question, as if it was a special interest. Sascha Vykos: Depressed drunk. Like very, VERY depressed. Like "don't let them touch alcohol ever again" depressed. Ilias cel Frumos: Cuddly drunk. Lettow Kaminsky: Depressed drunk, of the stares-into-the-middle-distance kind. Aila: "Hold my beer and watch this!" Dove: Angry, but only because she's trying to do things she'd normally do sober and she's pissed off her coordination has now gone to shit. Julian Sim: No thoughts, head empty. Roger de Camden: Slut. Mithras: Chill. LaCroix: Angry drunk, but in a funny way, not a scary way. Maximillian Strauss: Probably asked Pieterzoon the question and is now listening in rapt attention to a speech that is the verbal equivalent of watching paint dry. Nines: Depressed drunk. Aisling Sturbridge: The same, but slightly more cheerful. Beckett: The same, but with more disaster. Lucita: You can't tell because she's just as dangerous as she is sober. Anatole: You can't tell because he's just as weird as he is sober. Damsel: Probably already burning LA down. Jack: Handed her the matches.

Sejarah Kilas Balik Jurnalistik Indonesia

Name: Melisanne
Clan: Ventrue
Generation: 8th
Sire: Jan Pieterzoon (unidentified), Sophie Langley (adoptive)
Feeder type: Siren
Feeding Restriction: Men
Dwelling: New York City
Disciplines: Dominate, Presence, Fortitude
--
Born as Amanda Torrens, Melisanne was an office worker for a New York company who struggled to make serious headway thanks to a sexist environment. Nonetheless, she preserved and proved herself a corporate powerhouze when given the right tools for the job. Then, one night, she was Embraced by Jan Pieterzoon on the orders of Thomas Arturo, who sought to use her as a pawn in the ongoing power struggle in New York, and was then promptly abandoned. She narrowly avoided destruction with the aid of Sophie Langley, who took her under her wing and renamed her Melisanne.
Since then, Melisanne has been building up a coterie and carrying out Sophie’s will throughout New York.
--
Mel's feeding style comes from her restriction. While she can feed from men in general, her real preference is the blood of men post-orgasm, which makes sleeping with men practical for her needs. She also can't feed from bagged blood thanks to her dietary restrictions, and other women are a no-go as well.
