While I was proud of it back then, I know I could draw it a lot better now...so that's what I did!

I don’t know enough about the law to write a full story (also super busy with other writings and things) but I would probably make some headcannons if anyone likes this idea.

Synopsis

The sci-fi action-adventure presents the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear—the hero who inspired the toy—introducing the legendary Space Ranger who would win generations of fans.

This is different than the cheesy cartoon the original Buzz was from. If this is where all the hate for the movie is coming from, I understand it. The marketing is misleading. But aside from continuity issues, as a standalone story, this hits all the beats of a great story for me. Subtle worldbuilding(in the background), character arcs, high-tension moments, emotional moments, and (most importantly) a cathartic ending. Very close to a Must Watch.

Lightyear (dir. Angus MacLane) - review by Rookie-Critic

Lightyear is a wholly unnecessary, but nevertheless entertaining spinoff of the Toy Story franchise. Listen, I hold Toy Stories 1-3 as an almost sacred thing. It is a perfect trilogy of excellently crafted animated films and to try and add to that is almost blasphemous. Pixar has now done it twice. I'm gonna be perfectly honest, I don't like Toy Story 4. No matter how I look at it I can't justify its existence. It treated major characters like punching bags and, in my opinion, spit in the face of everything Toy Story 3 did. Lightyear, while still not really having a justification for existing, at least manages to be harmless. The idea to market this as "the movie Andy saw in 1995 that made him love Buzz Lightyear" is genius, in a way; giving this movie a space within the Toy Story universe without meddling or screwing up anything that's already been established. It's funny, there are parts that are exciting, the characters work, it ticks all the boxes. Also, as cliché as the "comic relief animal sidekick" character has become in Disney movies, Sox the robot cat is, undoubtedly, the greatest character in the film and I would die for him without hesitation. He's just an incredibly hilarious and lovable character.

However, with all that working for it, this is a Pixar movie, and we have come to expect great stories and phenomenal emotional weight from them, and this movie doesn't really have either. It is a predictable, boiler-plate effort from the animation titan, and that's a bit of a letdown. It's not spectacular, and it didn't need to be made, but somehow it's still an incredibly enjoyable popcorn movie, which was probably what they were going for anyway.

Score: 7/10

Oof, let's just say Siva can't open it (even after using her brute strength, tricks, and even her hammer fails?) It'll take a while for her to actually go and ask someone cuz she would try everything to see if she can do it herself.

Pulling @coloredgravity into this, I think she would go to James for this. If only because he is a little stronger, he is a human that she is not paranoid about, and she thinks it might make a difference. I mean if all else fails, she'll go to War.

Lightyear. More Interesting For What It Isn’t.  

Not much to add here.

As a confessed die-hard Pixar fan on paper, it was great to finally see them back in cinemas. The joy of seeing that little bouncing lamp on the screen was designed to bring this viewer a pang of joy like few other media-related events in 2022. One just wishes it had been with a distinctly more interesting product. No getting around this. Well, Lightyear may not be as bad as some people will tell…
