most of you will not understand the agony of this outfit. but hey here's fantasy au Howdy!
rambles:
yes. i know. he looks like a gunslinger. but I think it'd be funny if Howdy shows up and he minorly tweaks the genre simply by Existing! plus, he has to make himself useful beyond being a traveling salesman - he doesn't have a scrap of magic in him! so! alchemist gunslinger!
due to much of this "final" outfit design being Miguel's (@indigopoptart <3 thanks for your help homeslice <3) influence, i have less to say than usual! i'll talk about the things i Kept from the first terrible, terrible draft!
i wanted him to have full-coverage gloves because One, gloves fuck, & Two, shooting gloves! plus, he regularly works with dangerous materials! gotta keep his hands as safe as possible! speaking of his guns, they were a Ton of fun to draw. i wanted to make them ornate... Howdy seems like he'd enjoy nice things? fancy stuff perhaps? anyway the guns have his tavern "logo" on them!
the "second safety" mentioned triggers a magic-oriented mechanism that allows him to piece the guns together! they "unfold" into a big ol clusterfuck of a powerhouse weapon! unfortunately, using this immediately breaks the guns and they have to be repaired, so it's a "break glass in case of emergency" ace up the Neighborhood's sleeve!
i like to imagine that his bandolier, while cool, stresses everyone out a little bit. each bullet is full of pressurized weaponized magic. If they break while on the bandolier, well! Howdy would probably be very much Royally Fucked! i also drew the bullets too large here, so imagine that there's a lot more than shown and they're a lot smaller. I didn't realize this mistake until right now! oopsies!
i want to keep elements of the canon outfits in these fantasy ones. hence why his vest is striped and blue, he's still got the reddish brown pants, and! why his cloak clasp is shaped like a tie! and why the inside of his cloak resembles his apron!
i like to think that Howdy got his magic pack by swindling some poor soul out of it! when the buckles are undone, it unfolds into a vendor stand that looks Much different than the tiny scribble provided! said scribble is there to ah... what's the word. Demonstrate? get the point across? it's actually quite a nice stall! he has space to sell, and a workbench to tinker on! the pockets on the bag actually do function as pockets, though.

#cookie run#licorice cookie#red velvet cookie#affogato cookie#I KNOW im late to this but i was at school ok 🙄 anyways i have a lot of thoughts#first off LICORICE UGH I MISSED HIM SO BAD IM SO HAPPY FOR HIM#his stats are so fascinating to me. i don't think anyone was expecting his strength to be that high#its pretty average but its still his best stat surprisingly#im shocked his strategy and puzzle solving are only 3. i think that's a strange decision to make them so low but I'm open to accepting it#maybe his avoidance/lack of ability to see the big picture contributes to the low scores?#his stats are so unexpected but I could get used to it. still i want an elaboration from devsis on these#i want them to show his strength in the show because i was expecting his strength to be like. 3 or 4#but anywho. i think its very funny how affo is 0 strength. i love how its canon licorice could easily kick his ass in a fist fight#i really do love affo and im SO happy to see him with the cod fucking finally all we got with him as a cod until now was ODYSSEY 😭#im so excited to see him work with the cod as an actual member. he's a very fun character for me#i cant wait for them to actually make him feel like one of the cookies of darkness its been over a year since he joined by now c'mon#im just so ecstatic that the cod are back. hopefully this is a good omen and will pave the way for more cod appearances soon#bcs u all know how i feel about the lack of cod for the better part of the past year. this better be their comeback i believe in them#😁😁😁😁😁😁 IM JUST SO HAPPY THIS IS THE BEST POSSIBLE OUTCOME IM SO HAPPY U HSVE NO IDEA I LITERALLY SCREAMED#btw ik crepe is there. but they're in a weird grey area of being a cod so i didn't post them BUT IM VERY HAPPY THEY'RE THERE TOO ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️#♦️charlie's miscellaneous

does anyone else find heart palpitations just. extremely unpleasant? like i know theyre not ~bad or anything but i still Hate having them
#idk it just freaks me out having my heart thump so noticeably#been having p bad heart palpitations all night (idk if its a period thing or what. i assume it is?) and it suuuuucks#also my heartrate has been SO high lately#like my fitbit has been saying my avg resting is like?? 75???#when normally its abt 60#and usually theres a rly obvious drop off when im asleep vs awake#but now my heartrate is high even while sleeping???#bp is still low tho#n im definitely still potsy lol#its just. weird#i dont like it#i hate strange heart-related sensations#very disconcerting

i've probably already mentioned this, but k'pheli is disabled! due to chronic pain in his back, hips, and knee, walking without mobility aids is painful for him and just overall not pleasant. normally he wears a leg brace for days when he'll need to be more active and in combat and such, but on slower days he'll use crutches.
(pspsps vote for k'pheli in round two of @woltourney here. vote for my genderfluid bisexual catboy please and thankyou. he can fit so much gender and also chronic illness in him)

DAMN... THIS GIRL HANA CANNOT STOP THINKING ABOUT RORY'S SMILE....
#ragna ramblings#Hana will meet someone and when they smile she'll note that it wasn't as bright as Rory's#she wants to smile with Rory so bad#She'll say that Rory's smile blinded her to her surroundings [CH 4 stuff] (she thinks getting close to Rory blinded her to advancing :[ )#she says this stuff but she still longs to see Rory and anyone she meets smile.#when Ignis smiles at her it makes her feel lighter on her feet.#she sees Alope smile and initially calls it annoying but thats bc Alope has very fake smiles at times#when Alope really smiles Hana describes it as 'A low flame... unable to tell if it was about to blow out or if the embers had just been lit'#GRAH ALOPE HAS A LOT OF MELLOW SMILES#Enid and Tank don't smile at Hana as much but once enid does start smiling Hana brraks down thats for sure 💀#WHEN HANA SMILES... whoa okay im getting off topic#still. #it is a very low energy/high fatigue day today SIGH !!!#i think partially bc i didnt sleep enough but fjfkdl alas and alack that was my fault for staying up too late working on a sketch WIP#I'll post that tonight hopefully if i finish it :3#if i can get a few dishes done today and also crochet the last 2 pieces of my is.opod amig.urumi then I'll be pretty plum pleased w myself#and then i can start putting all the pieces of the isoboy together :] !! very excited for that fjflsl this has been a year-long WIP i think#also its funny but i genuinely enjoy watching other ppl play video games fjfkdl#i think bc i grew up w two older brothers and i wasnt allowed to play video games as much as they were#so i ended up just. watching them play fairly often#also im not v good at video games in general so fjkdl i enjoy seeing other ppl play them !! plus im like. not competitive as a general rule#and then w this scenario... keyboard sounds and game controller sounds often make me sleepy and calm for some reason#so fhfkdl ... this would be a great way to lull me into a doze heehoo fjkflf and ough... laying against him... #been thinking about genetics and nature vs nurture and all this sort of stuff a lot lately#and just contemplating why people are the way they are and how much is sort of hardwired vs learned etc.#anyway I'm definitely wayyyy more like my dad than my mom and i think i have actually learned to become sort of the ideal companion#for people like my mom#because my mom is the harder to please and stronger personality in the household who is way more obviously emotional and sensitive#and i empathized with her automatically in a sort of female solidarity way as the household is all boys otherwise#but anyway i know im just naturally like my dad in disposition and humour and looks and everything else but i also know i probably studied#how he handles my mom and her outbursts and insecurities and learned to react to it similarly to him as well#she's a very odd mix of one of the most empathetic kindest people you'll ever meet and also incredibly critical and sensitive to criticism#and she barely ever will tell you you did a good job at anything and will point out mostly only the bad stuff or flaws in whatever you do#yet also HATES that her own mom is exactly the same way and was traumatized by that growing up herself#i honestly 100% believe her mom (my grandma) is undiagnosed autistic and simply doesnt even realize how she comes off but it really#affected my mom growing up and now she is constantly on alert for anything that could possibly be a critique of her and will throw you#under the bus instead if you ever say something even remotely close to negative about her or arent extremely thoughtful about showing up#to the multiple events she hosts every single week#anyway the way my dad usually reacts is just being extremely quiet and steady and dry humoured in reaction to this and when she starts#critiquing him and bringing up all his past failures as a way of making herself feel better about her own bad self esteem he kind of just#takes it and doesnt take it personally because he knows shes doing it for low self esteem reasons#even though its not really fair to him and she would absolutely hate anybody doing the same to her#when i think of my dad's gentle quietness and humour and how much he hates being aggressive or critical i think of when we played a#board game called qwelf once and in the game he was made to act like a drill sergeant and scold and yell at all of us as we moved#our pieces around the board and the best he could do was to mutter stuff like 'get your buns in gear there soldier!'#it makes me lol to remember it my god he simply can't it's the most unnatural thing for him in the world#anyway i always wonder how much of my similarities to him are just genes and how much are learning from him#by watching and admiring and mimicking#because having nieces shows me that kids are absolutely little sponges who try to do everything they see you doing without even knowing#if it's a good thing to be mimicking or not and that can be a bit of a terrifying responsibility as the adult#i am glad i learned good coping mechanisms from dad and how to handle unfair criticism and lack of praise in stride as well but#something i had to teach myself as an adult was how to have healthy boundaries and be assertive when i feel like im being treated poorly#because my parents are both huge people pleasers who struggle with it themselves
