y'all ever listen to One Blink for Yes and then melt into a puddle of tears over how accurately and gorgeously it encapsulates the billions of interweaving emotions and revelations and tones of the titular scene with Joyce making first contact with her son stuck somewhere she can't figure out I—

like... the tragedy of her missing son... the confirmation of him still existing... the relief, the RELIEF, THE PROOF THAT JOYCE WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG, SHE WASN'T CRAZY... the curious unease of the supernatural staining the whole of the first season, and this moment in particular... the way the articulation makes the music sound like string lights blinking from some otherworldly influence... the overwhelming joy of receiving that one blink for yes, and her pride in her son for his intelligence and strength, making it far enough to tell her he's still alive... somewhere close but still so far away... in that moment where it kicks in you can TELL she doesn't care what this means for the future, she's just so happy to have FOUND HIM even in this small, mysterious, unexplainable way. the goddamn LOVE this woman has for her CHILD—

Honestly I don’t ever want to hear anything about Aemond being “bullied” or losing his eye. I don’t give a fuck. This psycho maniac massacred an entire house that were ALLIES of his— beheading every male Strong from old men to little boys and stacking their heads in a pile 3-feet tall— because he was having a temper tantrum after losing Kings Landing. Aemond had the most dangerous dragon alive and all he used it for during the Dance besides killing a child diplomatic envoy was to rain fire down on innocent civilians. Luke would have done the world a huge favor if he’d just plunged his knife into Aemond’s brain instead of taking his eye. I mean how much of POS do you have to be to make DAEMON the good guy in your 1v1 battle?

Nothing. I mean NOTHING. That has ever happened to Aemond in his pathetic worthless life even comes REMOTELY close to sort of maybe possibly justifying his literal war crimes. He’s the Westerosi equivalent of a fucking mass shooter. He cries about his stupid eye so much I cannot WAIT for Daemon to show him what a real fucking injury looks like as he plunges Dark Sister up to its hilt into his eye socket. The people who found his body were so real — they rescued Dark Sister and threw Aemond’s rotted corpse back to the bottom of the lake where it belongs.

everyone talks about how tiktok destroys people's attention spans with its short-form content, but i've never seen anyone talk about how constantly watching long-form video essays on youtube basically has the opposite effect.

like i'll play a 25-30 minute video and be shocked when the youtuber apologizes for how long it is. that's not a long video, that's a delightful morsel of content. a smackerel, if you will.

i officially resigned today :')
