Do you know who I respect? Everyone who has an Inquisitor Carver AU. Y'all are neat because like... you get it. You see the potential, you see the tragedy of it, you get so creative with everything, and I am here for it.
Because Carver has such Main Character energy but is constantly overshadowed by everyone in DA2...but then he ends up going through an entire hero's journey as a warden or templar in the background while we as Hawke is just stumble our way into becoming champion. Then he shows up at the end as a warden or is a templar who turns on Meredith to fight with you, like.... baby brother went through some shit and we still don't give him the acknowledgement he deserves.
Carver just wants to be wanted, to be needed. He wants to protect people, to keep everyone he loves safe. He wants to prove his worth and make something of himself, to find fulfillment in his life after spending so much time stagnant. He wants to matter so much, to make a name for himself, and DA2 blocks him at nearly every corner.
Carver doesn't have his own people. We don't know if he has friends or anyone he actually hangs out with outside of Hawke's group. Most of them don't like him or take him seriously. He has a crush on Merrill but he's awkward and she's oblivious so that goes no where.
Even before DA2, Carver's the only Hawke sibling without magic and that was isolating for him. He never felt like he could go out and thrive because it would bring unwanted attention to his family of apostates.
So him becoming the Inquisitor seems like the perfect opportunity for him, right? He gets to make his mark! He gets to be in charge and make important, life changing decisions! He gets his own inner circle of friends!
Except Inquisition is possibly the worst game for him to be the main character of and THAT is the tragic beauty of it.
Because the Inquisitor is the most important person in Thedas but no one outside of the inner circle actually gives a shit about who they are. The Inquisitor as a person isn't important. Hell, the Inquisitor isn't even a person to some. They are a symbol first and foremost. They are the Herald of Andraste and no one cares if they want the title or not, or if they're even the right person for the job! They have the mark, they were touched by Andraste! They fell outta the fade! They don't get a choice, it's forced on them by everyone.
And Carver as the Inquisitor? First of all: "Hey, wait a minute, this isn't the Hawke we ordered! ....Eh, close enough, I guess."
Second, Carver suddenly having a magical glowing mark on his hand that can close fade rifts after spending his entire life as the only Hawke sibling without any magic? Give him some space, he needs to breathe, what do you MEAN HE FELL OUT OF THE FADE--
Third, Carver gets to lead the Inquisition, make important decisions, and have an inner circle.....yet it's absolutely a case of "I'm surrounded by so many people yet I've never felt so alone" because again... Carver's finally important and needed, but so few people actually care about him as a person, how he's actually dealing with all of this. They care more about what they can get out of him.
Fourth, Here Lies the Abyss...... reuniting with Hawke and potentially losing them in the fade...... excuse me while I go SCREAM.
Lastly, Carver is a two-handed warrior who takes great pride in those skills as a warrior.......... y'all remember what happens to the Inquisitor at the end of Trespasser??? In the end, the mark will slowly kill Carver until he loses a hand. Not only will he need to recover physically from that, but emotionally and mentally. He puts so much of his self-worth in those skills that losing a hand and not being able to fight the way he used to would be devastating.
There's just SO MUCH, okay?? Listen:
--Varric has so much dirt on Carver from their days in Kirkwall and he never misses an opportunity to tell an embarrassing story but if you think Varric isn't extra protective?? or that he doesn't go out of his way to check on how Carver's actually doing?? You're wrong and you should feel bad, Varric is here for him.
--Carver and Cullen meeting in the war room for the first time like:
Carver: Oh good, the blasted Knight-Captain from Kirkwall.
Cullen: Oh good, Hawke's little brother.
Carver&Cullen: WONDERFUL.
but also:
Josephine: How should we handle this situation?
Cullen: Punch it.
Carver: Agreed. Punch it.
Cullen: With swords.
Carver&Cullen: PUNCH IT WITH SWORDS!
--Carver canonically had a small crush on Leliana from when they were both in Lothering, now she's one of his advisors... small world.
--A warden Carver meeting Blackwall and immediately being like "...if you're a warden, then why can't I sense the taint in you, hmmm?" whereas a templar Carver would shrug and say, "I don't know anything about the wardens so I believe you, welcome to the Inquisition."
--It doesn't matter who Carver romances, all four choices are hilarious in some way.
Cassandra threatened to kill him and is so Andrastian that she's a potential candidate for Divine but she's also killed a dragon and that's pretty hot; The Iron Bull shows up in Carver's room like "I've noticed the flirting, you want to ride the bull" but Carver keeps insisting he's a top; Josephine is so pretty and shiny and kind but boy it's like trying to ask Merrill out all over again, he's awkward and she's oblivious; Dorian's a mage from Tevinter and Carver can already hear Gamlen's voice in his head saying, "A mage? You're just like your mother."
--Carver: I knew an elven slave from Tevinter. He was a friend of my siblings.
Dorian: Oh?
Carver: He used to fist magisters to death.
Dorian: ...
Carver: It was pretty neat.
And all of that is just scratching the surface.
There's so much fun and tragedy to be had with Carver as Inquisitor. I love and hate it, and I want more. Y'all keep making it, I'm rooting for you.

Danyal Al Ghul's missed potential - this kid is not gonna behave like his canon self if he's with the league of assassins until his late formative years, and my reasoning why
(feel free to take this all with a grain of salt this is just my thoughts on it, this is all mostly amusing to me and isn't trying to be negative towards anyone else)
similar to how i was talking about how danny growing up in crime alley would affect him, demon twin aus with danyal al ghul make me laugh a lot (affectionate) because... whose teaching danny to unlearn all the ecofascism he picked up from the league of assassins? whose teaching him to be kind? to be gentle? Not the LoA thats for certain.
(you could plausibly say Jazz but she's only 2 years older than Danny and do you really expect a fellow child to properly explain why X is wrong to another child and have it be 100% effective? i don't doubt it'd help to an extent, but not in the same way an adult explaining it would)
plus a ton of other things, like whose teaching him to value human life? not the LoA. Whose teaching him how to adjust to living with American society after he ends up with the Fentons when he's 8-9-10? Who teaches him that killing is wrong, whose enforcing that?
(not the Fentons if you're going the neglectful parent route, and Jazz can try but i really don't think Danny is going to listen to her, a stranger who isn't even part of his grandfather's league)
How do you teach a child to value human life when the greatest development window for that opportunity has closed and he's already formed his own opinions?
You're not gonna get a Danny whose exactly like his canon attitude if he's staying with the league during his formative years (0-8 years old). you're not. You could get someone LIKE it, potentially, or someone who has traces of it or is similar -- like danny's wit and jokes and sarcasm, and on some level his kindness. but you're not gonna have a carbon copy. Development doesn't work that way. "nature" can only do so much in the face of nurture.
If anything, it doesn't even have to be a major change -- in the league he cans till be kind, but it's probably going to manifest in a different way than what is considered normal. Tough love, for one. But there's gonna be something that affects him negatively. Why make him 'always good/kind' when you can make him a brat who develops into a kinder (if spikier than in canon) person?
TLDR: Danyal Al Ghul would not be like how he is in canon if he's with the league until his late formative years -- not without any lasting pr permanent impacts from the league at least. Missed potential to make him an absolute nightmare like damian was -- especially in his early years when he first arrived to the Fenton house.
(this doesn't apply to danyal al ghul aus where he's either given to the fentons as a baby/is reincarnated/etc. this is mostly aimed for danyal al ghul aus where he fakes his death at like, 7-10 and somehow ends up, personality-wise like his completely canon self by 14 without any differences.)
(and even then if he's five or four, or even three, he would still be traumatized and influenced by the league. he'll just have more time to adjust. the sooner he leaves the league the more likely he is to be like his canon self, but not like an exact copy)

Anyways what I'm saying is that there is prime missed Danyal al Ghul potential to make him an absolute NIGHTMARE to the Fentons however way he ends up with them, just like Damian was with the Waynes! Cuz why does Damian get all the fun? Danny got the same training and endoctrine as him! He is also an ex-assassin! Why is Danny the only one who is 'well adjusted and non-violent' hm? Hmm?
Why can't he also be mean, and stabby, and a total stuck-up in some way or another? Have fun with his characterization, its prime opportunity to play play-doh and clay with him! If he starts out as X how does he get the personality traits of Y, and thus become XY?
Like take this with a grain of salt if you will, but make him arrogant. Make him an asshole! Make him a bad person at first! Because he will be! He's the blood son of the batman and you mean to tell me that damian is the only one arrogant about it at first? Make him stabby and mean even at 14 when he's begun to chill out! Have fun with it! If he's with the Fentons at any point past the age of four or five then he's gonna be a nightmare to handle because he still remembers the league and his time there.
(and while it gives him more time to chill the hell out, his time at the league is still gonna leave an impact on him.)
also what im saying as well is have him and sam potentially get along like a house on FIRE. Again, Danny grew up under the views of an ecofascist cult and nobody to challenge those views to him until he got to amity park at whatever age in late formative years he was at. He could be about as intense or even MORE intense about environmental awareness/rights than Sam is!
(also him being supremely unimpressed with Sam's wealth. he gave up a palace in the mountains for this town. because that's funny to me - like let his past have more influence on him! it'll be fun!)
you could have a danny who doesn't kill but doesn't fully understand the value of human life because jazz is like two years older than him and isn't that good at explaining why people's lives are important. he won't kill but he's not morally opposed to it. there's very little chance he actually gets bullied at school because he nearly killed Dash the first time he tried anything.
Danny could have scars, physical ones, because its implied in multiple canon that training starts at toddling (my best bet is 3 at minimum and ~maybe~ 2 but only on the later side of 2. Good fucking luck getting any infant under 2 to do anything you ask, ESPECIALLY assassin training. They're gonna stick the weapon in their mouth sooner than they're gonna do katas. This is coming from a daycare teacher.)
there's more examples of how danny being at the league during his formative years would affect him, but those are just some of them. he could have a sword! An appreciation for weaponry and nature. Maybe he still speaks all shakespearan and formal, does he still make bodily threats to people? If Damian is still threatening people at 14 why can't danny?

think itd have been so interesting if the iron islands had been subjected to a foreign lord paramount until the greyjoy rebellion. the tension of the greyjoy rebellion, it validates balon as a leader, it emphasizes the old ways as a return to tradition precipitated by a newfound cultural unity, it contextualizes the disdain for greenlanders, it gives direct momentum to house greyjoy, it contextualizes the iron islands as both repressed and oppressed. think itd be cool if the lord of harrenhal was also the traditional lord of the iron islands, who doesnt even live in the islands, doesnt know its people, lives in a wreck of a decaying castle and yet gains the taxes and iron from the islands......
plus it contextualises the jockeying for the seat of harrenhal in a very fun way to me

Many times I've written scenarios where PK lays curled up around PV when they're sick or hurt (either physically or emotionally), or simply just bonding and lounging together as wyrms do. Finally decided to draw how I imagine how in the hell he's able to curl up around them with their height difference. The answer: Compress! That! Bug!
Plus, that stretch that cats do, with their legs stretched out and covering their muzzles with their paws? So cute, I imagine PV does that often

Sensi Garmadon was literally one of the greatest characters in Ninjago
His arc in Rebooted with Lloyd was done pretty well, slowly but surely teaching Lloyd about the true boundaries of his power
But God damn he shined through so much in Season 4, it gave us a look into a scenario where Garmadon was the mentor for the ninja (temporarily) instead of Wu, and like FUCK I'm so mad they killed him off
And if that wasn't enough the writers decided to kill him AGAIN in Season 5
JUST GIVE THE MAN A BREAK D:<
On top of that, his dynamic with Clouse is just nothing short of pure art, its literally just both of them going "I specialise in the art of kicking your ass in 50 million different ways" and I'm all for it, it also gave us a lot of lore for the serpentine wars and how Chen got to this point with Clouse
And of course the elephant in the room for this guy, his sacrifice at the end of season 4
"I yearned to make the world in MY IMAGE.
I never realised I already had... In You."
That line fuckin took me when I originally watched season 4, like it's so damn tragic, and I really wish the writers kept him in the story longer, but at the same time his sacrifice was what made S4's ending so powerful
So uhhhh yeah, thanks for coming to my Ted talk about why Sensi Garmadon is an amazing character

so perhaps one day, the head of the family (i wanna say lucifer but since i want the person in this role to give off more a mysterious vibe, where his word is final michael might be a better choice) is like... this specific family...theyre kinda important and we want them on our side so get married to their eldest who has rejected every other person ever but has agreed to marry and since u dont do much when it comes to political affairs im gonna have you do this whether you want to or not

now mc never really wanted to get married cause they didnt wanna have to go through the motions against their will and they like their life as is but their parents have been breathing down their neck about marriage for years now. And now that this BIG opportunity has present itself to their parents, it feels like the pressure is really on now! at first mc is like shit...idk if i can weasel my way outta this one
and then......they realized that maybe this could probably work out in their favor actually.....
mc agreed to married him cause asmo has a bit of a reputation as a partier and a playboy
with asmo they feel like things can stay as they are for the most part if they let him continue to do as he pleases (not like they could have stopped him if they wanted to lol)
everything can be the same, they can still live their own separate lives, just now they have the title of spouses!
and thats the plan, like i said before asmo comes in being a bit rude at first but it kinda changes to indifference and a little passive aggressiveness once MC is like...yo chill im not gonna shit on ur parade. i just wanna be left to my own things. you do you sir

First Donnie Sketches for TMNT:Fusion! I absolutely adore this dork he and Leo have always been my favorites.
Donnie definitely has more of the 2003 qualities with being more of a loner pacifist but he gets irritated very quickly with his brothers. He’s the teams mechanic, scientist, and the other half of the disaster twins duo!
Never leave Donnie and Leo alone with plans, they will always end up setting fire to something. However, Leo and Donnie unwinding together = peak fluff.
