We all have of a need to protect those we love most. Like protecting your younger sister from the dangers of the outside world (“Anansi”) or saving your daughter from heartbreak (“Weredad”) or even keeping your partners secret about their terminal illness (“Guiltrip”). We have good intentions, but sometimes we get carried away and it ironically ends up hurting our loved ones. The Turtle Miraculous represents stability, longevity, and (what else!?) protection all of which was bestowed to Master Fu longer than a century to uphold that meaning and borrowed occasionally by Nino. It’s shielding power is used as a defense move from attacks to protect loved ones and in the hands of an enemy, it’ll be tough. Who gets that power? Let’s see:
*Protection-Say! How goes the S.S Adrienette!? Doin’ good? Cool breeze, calm waves, clear skies, oh that’s nice, except the only problem is the sailing is boring as f*ck cuz they still have yet to have their “moment” together and the shippers on board are being rather intrusive about it. (yawns) We have our ship after so long and now we feel like jumping into open water😒.
Another thing about intrusive shippers is how Gabe and Tomoe are shocked to discover that their ship, Adrigami, is parked beautifully next to the Titanic. Well, it’s you guy’s fault for not being involved with your children’s lives to notice too late that they broke up a season ago! (“Lies”) That’s all on you! They try to salvage Adrigami with Gabe saying Adrien and Kagami are of “the same design” and Tomoe making Kagami regrow her feelings for Adrien. Guys, don’t rock the boat! They also mentioned a certain “ball” for the high elite (that we were spoiled by last year *cough*”Emotion”*cough*) and that they want their kids to be the “perfect couple” there and need to quicken the event before it’s “night-night” forever for Gabe (he finally told Tomoe).
It gets worse when Lila gets involved as well, thanks to her weaseling her way into a friendship with Kagami (“Perfection”), and manipulates Kagami into thinking Marinette used her (Kagami) into winning over Adrien which upsets Kagami to become, with the Turtle Miraculous power, Riposte Prime, where she believes she’s “protecting” Adrien from Marinettes “manipulation”. It’s basically her first akumatized form except she has both arms carrying a sword instead of one of her arms being a sword. Lame! They took the one good thing about her first look, the one good thing! That I personally loved, by just letting her have two boring a** arms and traditionally carrying a sword! :P. Worst.Upgrade.Ever! Even her power with the Turtle Miraculous was pathetic! Sure it trapped people in red shield bubbles, but freed them when Riposte Prime would target a new victim! It was “Chameleon” all over again! Double :P! I’m so disappointed😒.
No hate on the long waited Adrienette ship. We’ve been dying for this to happen since the very beginning and even though we’re happy it’s finally happened, it’s awkward cuz the two don’t know how to express themselves romantically. The serenading didn’t work (“Perfection”), they talked to Luka about their troubles (“Migration”) and even though Adrien said he would wait when Marinette was ready (“Derision”), they’re just dating with nothing significant goin’ on! The problem is their shippers. They’re protecting their ship cuz they’ve done so much from the show to build it, knock a bottle on it and have it sail that they don’t want all that hard work to have been for nothing, but the classmates, the majority of Paris and the fandom try too hard to keep Adrienette afloat by making it entertaining that they (Adrienette) don’t have time to just be themselves and let their romance blossom naturally. It would’ve worked had it not been the anti-shippers staging a c*ckblocker on ‘em. Ships have haters, for Adrienette, those haters are Chloe, Sabrina (kinda), Lila and now Gabe/Monarch and Tomoe. You thought the dynamic duo were having a hard time with their arch enemies!? Well it also looks like they got some in their civilian forms too! Gabe and Tomoe are like this🤞. Waaaay back since “Animaestro they had important paper work planned out and what was it for? The whole business ordeal with the alliance rings when we found out Tomoe knew Gabe was Monarch? (“Multiplication”) OR an arranged marriage!? (gasps). Interesting, Adrien said Gabe and Emilie were from “different worlds” and yet they were happy. Does this mean Gabes new money? Could explain why one of his old designs were a French fry suit (“Psychomedian”) and how he was discovered by already rich and famous fashion designer Audrey Bourgeois (“Queen’s Battle Part 1:Style Queen”). So now they think they’re “protecting” their ship cuz they need their children together just cuz of their classist attitudes! Why can’t they just let them be happy!? They failed to do this when Gabe ordered Adrien with his ring to stay away from Marinette (Thank you, Nathalie) and Tomoe says she doesn’t need to order Kagami (Kagamies ring) cuz she’s obedient enough, but Kagami got a good talking to with Adrienette to not bottle up emotions, stay aboard their ship and to watch out for Lila…….(whispers) sentimonsters. Thus begins the story arc of the haters (mainly Gabe and Tomoe) trying to resurface Adrigami and sink Adrienette (army drum beat sounds as I put on my military helmet) BATTLE STATIONS!🪖🚢💣💥

after puppeteer 2 of course, what are the best/your favorite episodes at the moment
This is going to make me lose all my credibility but puppeteer 2 is actually not my favorite episode, it's one of the top but I mostly started hyping it up cause I didn't like that people would refuse to even watch it.
My top faves are actually:
Chat Blanc
Ephemeral
Glaciator 2
Origins
Puppeteer 2 or Kwamibuster, depending on what I'm in the mood for.
Then the other episodes I always rewatch are (in no particular order) Oblivio, Desperada, Riposte, Mr Pigeon 72, Ikari Gozen, Gorizilla, Gamer (1 and 2), Party Crasher, Evillustrator, Frozer, Weredad, Startrain, Garbage Agreste, and Psycomedian as well and really if I let this go on any longer I'm going to list all of the episodes but basically everything that has good shipping sjskkgkskgnsm

I’m the anon who asked about your other Adrien salt ideas. I would actually really like to see you describe all your ideas because I like the thought processes and concepts of salt ideas. I’m also really really interested in the high salt category.
Hohohoho boy alright High Salt Category, also known as the Dead Sea Salt Category. I hope you are ready for this list because as I recall I have stated before that I have around 12 ideas. I believe I have shared two on here already but they were kind of all over the place so I will refine them. Buckle up kiddos.
1. Double Take:
Tom and Sabine aren't dumb, they know something is going on with their little girl, but every attempt to get her to open up is met with over-enthusiastic reassurances and too big smiles. They hope that a surprise visit from her cousin Bridgette and her aunt, Sabine's sister, will help. When they were younger, Bridgette and Marinette were as thick as thieves and everyone thought the two were twins whenever they hung out. Even though they haven't seen each other in a year, the two still are close, that's why Bridgette knows that something is wrong immediately when she goes up to Marinette's room to support her.
It doesn't take long for Marinette to break and tell her everything. Everything about Lila, how she did turn everyone against her like she said, how Adrien said they were in it together yet he offered no help when he saw how her former friends were treating her, how Bustier kept lecturing her about how she had to be the example. Bridgette is furious but she convinces Marinette to tell her parents, when she does they are rightfully angry, and Tom becomes Akumatized yet again into Weredad. Bridgette and Marinette run when their mothers tell them too and in a fit of desperation Marinette tells Tikki she is sorry before telling Bridgette that she is Ladybug and she needs to transform as quick as possible.
Bridgette immediately is even more furious at her cousin's situation but understands, she comes up with the idea that the two of them switch clothes in case Tom goes searching for Marinette, he'll think Bridgette is her, Marinette agrees and they quickly do so. After Tom is defeated everyone sits down and has a long conversation about what to do. Sabine wants the school to pay for not taking action and her sister is right there with her but Marinette quickly points out they have no definitive proof to take to the board and Damocles would fight tooth and nail and would throw whoever he had to under the bus if they just opened up a case, not to mention if they went with no proof who knew how long it would take for the investigation to actually start. That's when Bridgette gets the idea that they collect proof themselves over a period of time and then go to the board. Marinette is on board the idea but Sabine really doesn't want Marinette to go back to that class or school, that's when Bridgette gets the idea for the two of them to swap places. It gives Marinette a break from the chaos and Bridgette can collect the proof.
Everyone is a little hesitant but after a longer talk everyone agrees. They wait two weeks before switching. That way Bridgette can cut her hair and have everyone get used to it before Marinette comes in, she let's her friends know what's going on because she knows they'll be able to tell that Marinette is not her so she tells them to make her feel welcome and help her come across as 'Bridgette.' They agree of course after she explains the situation. Then the switch happens. While Marinette is finally able to have a break and starts to enjoy her life once more, Bridgette is getting angrier as the days go on, horrified by what her cousin has to go through but she is dutifully collecting evidence and boy it wasn't hard at all. It's a wonder that the school is still open. It's hard not to call off the whole thing but she's going to be strong for Marinette.
Meanwhile Adrien doesn't understand why Marinette is acting so differently but he doesn't like it. Felix is intrigued by Bridgette's cousin and it seems like his friends share that sentiment as they are all trying to convince her to transfer after the whole investigation and whatnot.
[Includes New Chat Bridgette and Quantic Kids as the new heroes and Felinette, Felix Culpa not Felix Graham de Vanily]
2. Moving On, Finding Home:
Out of everything Felix expected his mother to do while in the stages of her grief, he never thought moving would be one of them. Now he is in Paris and hoping beyond all hope that he will not run into his cousin. Thankfully he is at a different school than his cousin, on the other hand his mother is all to eager to throw herself into work again and start on a new movie, and so are her employees. Felix is dreading the time when they will have to get costumes, since his uncle was always the one to provide them, and he is fairly certain his uncle would not be pleased to see him. It would seem that his mother shares the same thoughts as him and is also not wanting to ask Gabriel for help. That's when he gets an idea.
After his last visit to Paris and his...encounter with Adrien's friends, he had been keeping an eye on one of them, purely because they had piqued his interest. Marinette Dupain Cheng, the girl who professed her love to her cousin, though he never got to see it, also the very talented designer MDC. It wasn't hard to put two and two together, sure she posted on two different accounts but really the signatures on each commissioned piece were basically the same. Then he thinks about how thrilled his mother would he to work with her...the only problem is how will he convince the girl to help them out?
All the while Amelie decides to play matchmaker for her boy and Marinette while she commissions the young artist. It's great because it double as a big middle finger to Gabriel who is wracking his brain trying to figure out who this MDC is while simultaneously trying to steal Mlle Dupain Cheng from his sister-in-law. Adrien is just upset about his very close friend getting too close to his mischievous cousin. He will stop at nothing till he makes Marinette understand what a bad person Felix is.
[Contains new Chat Felix, as well as Felix redemption, school transfer for Mari, Quantic Kids, Lila Rossi's Lies Exposed]
3. Marinette, The Rolling Stone:
She didn't know how, but Lila had done it, she had successfully turned Marinette's friends against her. Not only that, but her lies had somehow made their way to and infected, Marinette's parents, making them lose their faith in their "once sweet daughter." They decide they no longer can care for her, seeing as she deceived them, they want to send her away or give up guardianship. Marinette tries to get Adrien to help her out but he is still on his high-road-horse and won't come don't even if it means she loses her parents. So she collects all her evidence and does her best to talk to them.
But Tom and Sabine don't want her to "take advantage" of their family members so they decide the best course of action is to have Marinette legally emancipated. Marinette tried, she tried so hard to get them to see her evidence and just hear her out but they think she is nothing more than a liar and manipulator. Before they have her emancipated, Jagged crashes back into her life and when he hears what Tom and Sabine are planning he is outraged and immediately offers to adopt Marinette. For Tom and Sabine, it's the out they needed, but they worry about Jagged, seeing as he obviously doesn't know the truth about their wicked daughter. But he stands strong and does not take no for an answer, and Marinette...she is hurt, yet happy that Jagged loves her enough to adopt her.
When all is said and done, Jagged and Penny get to work on being the best parents they can be. First things first. Getting their little Rolling Stone out of that hell-hole of a school and finding one better suited to her tastes. Or better yet, why not leave Paris as a whole?
[Includes class salt so much of it, Lila Rossi getting outed as the liar she is, Chat Noir aka Adrien salt and him losing his miraculous, new school, new friends, Tom and Sabine salt, some Master Fu salt, slight Tikki salt but so slight like a grain of salt, Marinette being loved, Jagged getting to be a dotting father, I don't know what ship I want this to be fyi]
4. Everyday Ladybug
After the events of Ladybug, Sabine and Tom have had enough. Marinette said she could handle it but she shouldn't have to, not to this extent, not to almost getting akumatized, so they decide to pull her from that problematic school and they reinstate her, and transfer her to a new school that would help cultivate her skills and passions. Marinette fully agreed, the expulsion had been the last straw for her, she couldn't take it anymore. She was ready for a change, but was Collège Françoise Dupont?
Once their little girl is free from the Akuma School, Tom and Sabine take their case to Board of Education. Because even though they got Marinette out of there, there was bound to be other students like her who thought they could and should stick it out and that just won't do. They hoped Principal Damocles was ready, because they were prepared to go to war.
[Includes the pairing Felinette, Quantic Kids, Uncle Jagged, Damocles Salt, Bustier Salt, Adrien and Gabriel Agreste salt, Adrien losing the Cat Miraculous, Class salt, Lila Rossi Salt, etc]
5. All The World's A Stage:
She had so many roles to fulfill, and at this point she couldn't keep track of them all. Marinette was being pulled thin and she felt as though there was nothing she could do to stop it. Lila knew this, had seen it coming, maybe even had been a small devil on people's shoulders to help it along, and she decides to take advantage of the situation to help Hawkmoth finally akumatize Marinette. The liar plans a party with the class, or well suggests they should throw a party. The class jumps on the idea and adds just that much more work onto Marinette.
She can't hold on and she needs help, but it seems like the only help she will get is from herself...many of them actually.
[My spin on the Many-nette akuma idea! Includes the pairing Lukanette, akumanette, Adrien realizing that actions and inactions have consequences, new Chat Noir, new Miraculous Holders, class salt, Lila salt, Adrien salt, Hawkmoth salt, happy ending]
6. Wish Me Away:
Chat Noir betrayed her. He took her earrings at the peak of the battle, she never even saw it coming, but she did see his look of surprise and his look of awe and love, and yet...not one apologetic look was given. She watched from where she was pinned under Mayura as Chat detransformed, she watched as he became Adrien, and she cried. She begged Gabriel Agreste not to make the wish, she didn't expect the slap from Adrien or the venom he spit out telling her he expected better from her, he thought she wanted him to be happy.
She watched in horror as Gabriel detransformed and told Natalie to do the same but not before tying Marinette to a chair. She watched as Gabriel happily took her earrings from his son and Adrien's ring before transforming into a being of Chaos and Order, she forced herself to watch as he made his wish and as the light swallowed her she finally closed her eyes.
Tikki and Plagg were furious, Adrien betrayed them and all of Paris, all of the Miraculi. But as they were joined to make the wish they realized that Gabriel hadn't been specific in his wish, which meant they could create something together, a loophole of sorts, all they wanted was to give Marinette a better life. One where no one from her past life would find her, and they wished that she would be placed somewhere she would be loved and cared for like she deserved.
Well...it worked...what they didn't understand was why their Guardian was currently transported to Gotham of all places, and why she was barely a year old!? At least she was transported to what seemed like a nice place. Wayne Manor huh? Well no matter they would make sure their little kit was cared for and make sure that no one from her past life found her.
[Includes Batfam! With Babynette! Marinette gets adopted into the Wayne family! Yes she is still the Guardian of the Miraculous. Karma is being served and it is delicious! No one is skipped, everyone gets a serving!]
7. Tattle-Tail:
When an Akuma catches the class off-guard and makes them tattle their truths on themselves nothing is the same. Marinette still had hope that her friends could return to their senses and come back to her side but after hearing what they think of her, really think, that hope dies. It turns to ash and ignites a fire she didn't know she had. She was done holding out for them. She was done being nice for the sake of being nice. And most importantly, she was done being the example.
Her class started the fire, and they were going to get burned.
[Includes class change for Marinette, Truth Akuma, Lila Rossi's lies exposed, consequences being learned, new friends for Marinette, class salt, no ship for Marinette or if there is it may be Kagaminette, New Chat Noir]
8. The Haunted Bride:
Marinette didn't know why, but ever since she was a little girl she was always fascinated with the famous Culpa Mansion in London. If she asked her parents where her fascination came from they always claimed it had to be from her Grandma Gina when she had given Marinette a book about the mansion. Gina claimed it came from her parents and that's why she bought her little fairy the book. All Marinette remembers is dreaming of the mansion, of living there, and when she found out the tragic history, she started to dream about being the Master of the Mansion's bride-to-be, Bridgette Chang. She dreamed that she might be the reincarnated bride and one day she would go to Culpa Mansion and be reunited with her love, but as she grew, that dream grew to be just that, a dream.
But fate works in weird ways and Marinette finds the chance to go visit like her heart has always yearned to, when she wins her class the opportunity to stay in the mansion. It should be the perfect trip, but between her friends believing the liar over her and her boyfriend, Adrien, still telling her to just take the high road and being everything else but her boyfriend, Marinette is finding it hard to be happy.
Then she meets the staff of Culpa Mansion and she can't help but feel right at home.
[My take on the Haunted Mansion AU made by @merry-madness I believe! Includes class salt, Lila salt, supernatural elements, ghosts!, Adrien salt, Felinette, Quantic Kids, Marinette being loved like she deserves, Guardian Marinette, Hawkmoth has been defeated]
9. Ivy's Sapling:
Pamela didn't mean for it to happen, she didn't mean to stumble upon a robbery gone wrong but she did. She was fully prepared to go about her business but then she heard a baby cry and saw the man with the gun point it at the bundle in pink and next thing she knew her vines and her lashed out and strangled the man. She was fully prepared to take the child to the orphanage but when she saw the child wrap a small chubby hand around one of her vines and give her a gummy smile, she made a decision that would change a lot.
Poison Ivy became a mother, and she loved her little Marigold so much, so when things became a little too much, a little too dangerous in Gotham she sent her little Marigold away with a dear friend who said her son and his wife would take care of her daughter.
Now her and Harley are getting married and she wants her daughter there, when she calls her to tell her the news she wasn't expecting to hear her daughter crying and asking to move back home.
[Includes Mama Ivy and Harley! Daminette pairing, class salt, of course Adrien Salt, new Chat Noir, Lila salt and her lies exposed, Mari moving to Gotham! Uncle Jagged! Batfam]
10. The Commission
Marinette had many noteworthy commissions, but she never bragged, and it's not like she had many people to brag to. So when she opened her business email and saw it full of requests she merely smiled excitedly at the promise of work and the opportunity to work with new people. She clicked the top email and nearly fainted, she read it once, twice, five times before she asked Tikki to read it for her, and after that yelling for her mom and dad to also read it for her. When they confirmed that she had actually gotten a commission from who she had read from she gave out an excited squeal. She had the opportunity to design a formal suit for Tony Stark and a wedding dress for Pepper Potts! Yeah no she was going to faint.
Tony had been a little reluctant to commission this MDC for his and Pepper's wedding attire but he couldn't say no to Pepper who had been a fan of the designers for a long time, so when he finally got his hands on the designers email he didn't hesitate to send an email for the designer to fly over to New York for a consultation and have them stay until their outfits were done. Was it over the top? Maybe a bit much? Was he more than willing to pay for their rooming and materials just to make Pepper happy? Hell yeah! Oh and maybe he could ask if they could make a suit for Peter, he loved the kid, really he did, but he wouldn't know a nice suit if it wrestled itself onto his scrawny body.
Adrien didn't know what Marinette's problem was, he told her to take the high road and she had been doing anything but! Their friends started to call her a bully and well Adrien could tell them that Lila was lying about the bullying but she wouldn't be lying about it if Marinette had just done as he said so he saw it as fine punishment. Well school was over and it was summer and he was planning on helping Marinette go back to the way she was. It was for the best really.
[Includes Spiderbug ship aka Marinette and Peter Parker, I also like to call them Lovebugs! Adrien salt and a new chat! Lila salt and her lies exposed, class salt, Uncle Jagged, the Avengers, the Avengers loving Marinette]
11. The Not-So Phantom of the Théâtre du Châtelet:
Marinette couldn't be more thrilled! She was hired to design and make the costumes for the Théâtre du Châtelet's performance of The Phantom of the Opera. She was less than thrilled at the fact that she would be working with Lila Rossi, her old bully from collège, and Adrien Agreste her ex-boyfriend. But this was a great opportunity for her and her company, Lady Luck Designs. When her and her team arrive to the theatre, she was expecting a little drama, what she wasn't expecting was the whole cast and crew to be on edge. Then she heard the whispers, the rumors, the show was haunted.
At first she thought it was just a little PR stunt, but then she realized that everyone was doing their best not to let the information get out. Then the whispers and rumors were more than just about little things going wrong, people were actually meeting the ghost,, the phantom they were calling him. Marinette didn't believe in it,, didn't want to believe in it, that is until she came face to...er mask? with the phantom.
She hoped Lady Luck shined on her for the duration of this project, she had a feeling she would need it.
[Includes: No Miraculous AU, Felinette pairing, big Lila Rossi salt and her lies finally being exposed as well as her facing consequences, Adrien salt big time too, Marinette's former friends salt, Quantic Kids, the Kwami as Marinette's design team, theatre kid shenanigans.]
12. Silence Can Be The Loudest Thing:
Marinette was fully prepared to find a place to transform in the studio, it shouldn't be hard, it was a big place, and she wasn't Luka's target, but she hadn't counted on Bob Ross. He kept using her as a human shield so it seemed like Luka...er...Silencer took it upon himself to be her protector, and apparently that meant carrying her around Paris as he hunted down Bob Ross so he could keep her safe. She just hoped Chat Noir would get there soon and distract Silencer long enough so that she could transform.
Once he does though she can't help but notice how reckless he is in the fight and how he reacts when he finds out Ladybug isn't there yet. Silencer doesn't take it well and seemed more determined than ever to guard her.
What's a bug to do.
[Includes a Silencer rewrite, lukanette, Adrien/Chat salt, new Chat Noir, new heroes, class salt, class picking sides, Kitty Section opening their eyes to Lila's lies, LIla salt, Alya salt]

Scaranoire AU idea
So the replacemnt for the weredad ep should be animan & anansi
Alya being trapped in anasi's wrb and lqdynoire having to fight both animan and anansi all by herself
oh my god this is gay and i love it
lady noire showing everyone she's also boss, cause i think we've seen chat hold off like 4 akumas, why can't lady noire do it too
(but would she have back-up or would the battle just take even longer? since alya (and tikki? would tikki be trapped too) is basically incapacitated for the ride and there are two akumas, i think this is like a few magnitudes harder considering she's kinda alone and chat has always had someone with him for akumas)
alya definitely runs to hide when the objects are broken and the akumas are captured (like in hack-san). miraculous ladybug without a holder seems scary + i think plagg might have been asked some kwami horror stories before 😅 and i think its possible to cast the cure if you just appear at the end and capture the butterfly
+ watch scarabella make an excuse on why she's late
also this implies a lovesquare??? lady noire pining for scarabella while alya pining for marinette????
if i got anything wrong, it's been like a year since i last binged the show 😅 feel free to correct!

AU marinette’s close childhood friend is ladybug. Marinette is the first and most frequently hero who was revealed during Miracle Queen and retires when she is revealed to the world.
Set during weredad.
Marinette is in her room when the giant donut hits. She died and her body is showed in the rubble of her room. Ladybug is horrified at her friend’s death. She screams Marinette's name in horror at the sight, drawing everyone’s attention to it.
Chat Noir brush Marinette’s death off because “Miraculous Ladybug will bring her back.” He tries to go back to flirting with Ladybug. Ladybug is furious. She rips into Chat Noir blaming him for Marinette’s death because his flirting distracts her and cause the donut to fly into Marinette’s room.
She blames the fact that he hadn’t taken the fight seriously. All the frustration and anger that have been building up over the fights spilled out and she lists everyone of his mistakes out.
By now Gigantitan had frozen at Ladybug’s anger. Everyone was now listening to Ladybug including Tom and Sabine who had found their daughter’s dead body and hear the reason for her death.
By the time Ladybug was finished, it have been almost a hour. Chat Noir is offended at the way she talks to him and decides if she doesn’t appreciate him he was leaving. (He forgot about the cameras filming by now.)
Ladybug still angry turns to Gigantitan who just started crying. She quickly got his akumatizrd item and cause Miraculous ladybug. August is left with the Dupain Cheng family who are relieved that marinette is alive again.
The aftermath is shocking. Marinette have never liked Chat Noir due to her friend (who is Ladybug) pointing out his horrible behavior. Marinette’s parents show that dislike to a lesser extent. But now that they blame him for their daughter’s death, they loathe and make no secret of it.
Nadja goes over footage of every fight and finds strong proof supporting Ladybug’s speech. She shows it on TV. It was very popular.
Chat Noir’s reputation drop. Paris no longer trust Chat Noir to protect them. After all if he would treat Ladybug and a former hero and ally so carelessly what does that said about him?
Basically Adrien got a former hero killed and people see how little he care about them and ladybug.

Okay so a while back I discussed that some episodes changed in the Hero Chat AU. And I wrote a post detailing the changes to various episodes.
However, I recently realized that some episodes of Season 2 would’ve changed too. And that my original post on Season 3 didn’t include Weredad.
So here’s the episodes that changed and why/what changed.
Queen Wasp:
Let's start here. Basically the ending is the place where things change. Instead of encouraging Chloé to continue being a jerk in an attempt to please her abusive mother, Marinette tells Chloé that she shouldn't have to do that, that the situation's fucked, and that Chloé deserves better and can decide for herself to be a better person or not.
Chloé finally has the breakthrough of the idea that she doesn't need Audrey's love, and that even if her attempts had worked, that's no longer the kind of person she wants to be.
Marinette respectfully declines Audrey's invitation to New York. Because as much as she wishes she could punch Audrey, she knows that could have several consequences. Audrey is unused to someone declining her, and resolves to stay in Paris to try to convince Marinette to take the internship.
This really hurts Chloé, but she doesn't blame Marinette for Audrey's actions.
Malediktator.
Chloé is still reeling from the events of Queen Wasp so she's a bit quieter and not really enjoying the glory like she was in Canon. So she doesn't make that video thing.
Other people are still talking about Queen Bee and Queen Wasp though. Some people make various comments along the lines of "ugh she was being such an attention whore! Obviously she stole the Bee Miraculous because Ladybug would never think someone like her could ever be a Hero."
Both Adrien and Marinette shut that shit down quick. The class actually listens because Mari isn't using her usual "let's be nice and not insult people even when they annoy us" voice but her "you guys are being assholes and I won't stand for it!" Voice. Which is a voice she usually only uses toward Chloé, not when defending her.
Alya asks Marinette about it though, because why is she suddenly defending Chloé of all people. Marinette is basically like "remember how her mom was? Can you imagine what you'd be like if every conversation with your mom was her insulting you and not bothering to remember your name?"
Alya gets the picture and feels a little guilty. Marinette also tells her that she and Chloé had a conversation about that, and Chloé is deciding to stop trying to get Audrey's nonexistent love and is going to work on being better. She also reminds Alya to be patient because it's a process.
When Chloé gets home, her dad notices she's upset. Trying to help, he gives her various gifts and offersto use his power as Mayor to 'fix it' like usual. Chloé snaps at him, telling him that won't help this time. Feeling powerless, he gets Akumatized.
The Akuma fight is the same, pretty much. Though Marinette's hesitation about giving Chloé the Bee again is less about thinking Chloé is "worthy" and more about the fact that Hawkmoth might target her if Queen Bee comes back. Also when Chat is acting like a cat, he hisses at Audrey and tries to scratch her.
Post-battle, Chloé talks to her dad and tries to explain a little better that this isn't a problem he can just magically wave away. It needs to be worked on. Unfortunately he gets the idea that she means the whole family should spend more time together so she and Audrey can get along. It's frustrating but Chloé appreciates the effort.
Catalyst/Mayura
The biggest difference is that when discussing their good deeds for Heroes' Day, Chloé doesn't mock anyone, and instead of saying "uh, I am a Hero?", she says her good deed is to work on being nicer to people. Some classmates are skeptical but oh well.
The "bee signal" also doesn't exist, and Chloé is only teasing toward Chat when he shows up to give her the Bee.
During the fight, Chloé is only worried about her dad being Akumatized again, not her mom. Also, while Dark Cupid does hit her, I have headcanons about Chloé's emotions being complicated and mixed up enough that she's sort of immune to Dark Cupid.
She still becomes Queen Wasp again, but you know.
At the picnic, both Alya and Nino have come around to the idea of Chloé being better, having fought by her side as Heroes. Chloé is actually attempting to nicely socialize, and they help out. So do Mari and Adrien but that's after the "everyday Ladybug" thing. Which Chloé laughs at because identities!
There are two bonus scenes after this. One is Marinette convincing Master Fu of her plan to add more Heroes.
The second where Ladybug and Chat gather the Heroes and tell them that, because Hawkmoth has upped his game, they will be getting their Miraculous permanently. Although they tell Chloé that to protect her better, she needs to pick a new name/costume and pretend to be her replacement.
Weredad:
Finally to the Season 3 episode I forgot. Anyway.
The initial fight with Gigantitian is a little different. Part of the bakery does get destroyed, which sends several of the Heroes panicking. But Ladybug assures them she saw Marinette get out safely.
Anyway. As there's more Heroes, someone else returns August to his mom, pacifier included.
Meanwhile, Chat goes to check on Marinette because even if Miraculous Cure fixed it, she could've still been hurt. Because Chat isn't looking for Ladybug, just Marinette, he doesn't begin to connect any dots and Marinette doesn't panic and fake confess.
Marinette's parents walk in on a worried Chat fussing over Marinette's safety. Now is when Mari and Chat panic, trying to explain what Chat's doing there but making it kinda sound like a secret relationship thing.
Tom invites Chat for dinner, and he accepts, much to Mari's confusion. Chat explains that it's hard to say no to the dinner, but they can also explain better then.
There's a scene between Tom and Sabine while cooking where Sabine points out that the kids didn't say they were together, and Tom explains that while he'd be happy for Marinette if it was, it's not about that. It's more about how he saw exactly how young Chat was, and how young the other Heroes are. The dinner is planned to be partly a potential "meet the boyfriend", but more of a "hey kid if you need some place to go we're. Here for you". That gets Sabine in on the thing.
Chat comes to dinner and things are a little strange. Tom's questions are less "what are your intentions with my daughter" and more "what's your home life like?".
Eventually Chat says the thing of "while Marinette is amazing and someone would be lucky to have her, even if I weren't in love with Ladybug, I would have to turn her down because it's dangerous for Civilians to be close to the Heroes because Hawkmoth could use them."
Instead of being upset at Marinette's heartbreak, Tom's anger over "how dare children be forced to be Heroes and have to deal with the possible threat toward anyone close to them!" Comes back, and that's what gets him Akumatized.
Weredad isn't trying to just protect Marinette. He attempts to put all the Heroes in the cage of vines, wanting to protect them from having to fight anymore.
The Heroes still defeat him, and Tom apologizes for the irony of being Akumatized and attacking them because he wanted to protect them. He still offers the "if you need an adult in your life feel free to drop by!"

MLB rant
At this point, I am genuinely pissed at Miraculous. Among other things, Thomas has wrecked the quality of the show over shipping bullshit with episodes like weredad and, in the process, fucked everything over so that now, no matter what happens or who ends up with who, it’s going to be shit. In a lot of ways, he’s done to Miraculous what Bryke did to Avatar in the comics- ruined established characters and the overall story by trying and failing to take care of the relationships/shipping. At this point, Marinette’s character is so awful in relation to this that I truly can’t fathom how Adrien and Luka can still tolerate her, never mind actually like her. Where she should have been steadily improving this whole time, she is instead getting much worse. This, of course, is because the show is constructed such that there is only the few main plot aspects everything revolves around (Hawkmoth and the love square) but, even though Astruc is clearly trying to drag the show out, he isn’t adding any other layers to the show to make up for how flat it is, so in the process of keeping those main plot points static, he has ended up fucking over his own show and dragging Marinette’s character down. At the start of the series, Marinette was clumsy and socially awkward but in a somewhat endearing way. Now, a school year or so later, she hasn’t improved at all and, in spite of now being Ladybug which would be the perfect catalyst for her character development, she’s genuinely getting worse to the point where, as we see in Desperada, she now acts like she has brain damage or something.
The degradation of Marinette’s character is a direct result of Atruc trying to shut down side ships, including some within the love square, in spite of how completely unnecessary it was. He shouldn’t have been doing stuff like that at all, honestly, but things like that should have only been done if and when he was going into the endgame and setting up to finally put them into canon relationships. There are a few ways he could have done this more successfully:
1. In season 2, after Ladybug flat out rejects him, have that be enough to initiate the process of Adrien moving on and have him be completely over her by the end of the season but leave him single. Meanwhile, from the beginning of the show, it should be shown how the way Adrien constantly says that Marinette is “just a friend” wears on her over time, plus Luka showing up adds another element that would shake things up and leave her feelings for Adrien unsteady. Eventually, maybe later season 2, Adrien would make another comment like that again and that would be the last straw at which point she’d be done. Shortly after that, she’d get together with Luka.
2.Kinda like what I just described but after Adrien gets over Ladybug and Marinette gets over him, they could get together as Marichat in some rich dramatic irony.
So then there is the matter of character development. I’ve already lamented Marinette, but I’d argue that basically none of the characters have any significant character development. Chloe had the opportunity that got royally fucked over, which was probably also for the sake of maintaining stasis, but other than a couple people here and there, there isn’t much to be found. I think this is because there isn’t actually much content, when it comes to this show. About half of each episode is taken up by the akuma and what’s left tends to be more concerned with cute things like Marinette facetiming Alya about Adrien or bringing some macrons somewhere or whatever and, like I said earlier, there are no subplots that would provide more depth to the show and help promote character growth. I think it would work better if a) there were subplots and b) there wasn’t an akuma every episode, maybe just every couple. It gets really boring and repetitive to have half of every episode be basically the same and take up so much space so that there isn’t room to put in real shit and character growth around it.
Regarding Chloe, if they were going to give her a fucking miraculous, they should’ve been planning on using that to kickstart her redemption arc. It makes absolutely no sense to trust her with it and then have her proceed to not change at all. All it does is create a shitty situation where this bitch is now a superhero but she’s still a mega bitch so then when she no longer gets to be a superhero, that adds to her being a miserable bitch. Honestly, it doesn’t even remotely make sense why Marinette gave it to her in the first place and when I look back on it I think it’s literally nothing more than pure pandering in response to what people were posting on Tumblr. It would’ve made a lot more sense for her to have had some level of preliminary character development first before Marinette presented her with the miraculous. Also, maybe it could be after she’d made a bitchy comment about Chloe that then got a response that showed Marinette how she was wrong and made her feel bad and this is her way of making it up to her but, more importantly, showing how she’s getting over her prejudice and now choosing to put faith in Chloe and support the progress she and those around her have witnessed. Then, the miraculous and the responsibilities that go with it (plus Marinette’s inevitable end of episode apology) would catalyze Chloe’s continued growth and development but like the amount of growth she’d have already would be enough for her to act more maturely and keep her identity a secret, which would be A Thingᵗᵐ.
However, along that same vein, I think it’s absurdly stupid how they really went with the “everyone gets a miraculous (ノ´ヮ`)ノ *:・゚ ” thing. It makes sense to bring in one more but not this bullshit where everybody gets one but only sometimes. Bring on one more, permanently, maybe even add another later on (MUCH later on) if necessary but don’t just have this bullshit where Marinette just picks the flavor of the day. Also, her now being the guardian is the genuine worst decision, period. If it’s really that important to boot Wu and bring in a new guardian, have it be someone else like Alya, idk or, even better, a new character entirely. Wu said he had to be trained so I’d like to propose to have it so that he’s been training one for a while but we just don’t see them because since their training is incomplete, Wu can’t trust them with Ladybug and Chat Noir’s secret identities yet. But jesus fuck, Marinette should not be that person. She’s already quite Mary Sue already, she really doesn’t need that and the episode where she’s able to weild all the miraculouses to just throw in more shit about how she’s so good and so powerful and all that stuff.
So, then, there are inconsistencies in the writing, mainly in regards to their secret identities and shipping. In one of the episodes in season three, Master Wu told them they would have to give up their miraculouses if they ever learned each other’s identities, which is incredibly fucking stupid since he then just hands her all the miraculouses and makes her the new guardian. So she’s just supposed to hold that boundary because he told her to when she’s now the one who’d be enforcing it and taking the miraculouses if that ever came to be? So if (when) they learn their identities, she’s supposed to, as the guardian, take Adrien’s and give up her own miraculous but then keep on being the guardian? I think the line from Master Wu was supposed to add drama and suspence but that only works if you don’t go and negate it three seconds later. The other inconsistency that, to me, was glaringly obvious and just as annoying was when Marinette, Adrien, and Kagami went to Andre’s. Back when this guy was first introduced, the way it all worked was that when someone came up, he’d make them an individualized ice cream cone based on the person they love. In season three, all of a sudden, for no reason whatsoever, the fact that it’s three people coming up to get ice cream changes the entire system to some other bullshit all so we can get some over done, in-your-face adrienette vs adrigami tension in which Marinette is a Good Girlᵗᵐ.
Then, lastly, I find it extremely odd how there are practically no background characters and that the few there are tend to be recurring. If there are going to be 77+ episodes of “oh no that dude got akumatized”, it would be prudent to have more throwaway background characters to use for the akumas and then only use the main/recurring ones for that intermittently and only when it adds something to the episode and/or the plot as a whole. The classroom kids shouldn’t be the default, they should be used sparingly and with care. Not to mention how it also would be good to have more background characters just so stuff like scenes where they’re in the hallways in between classes don’t look so awkward because there’s just this one class of kids in this entire school (plus Marco) and literally nobody else. It’s a thing in every film or show that has ever been made but in this one, for no reason, there just are no extras and it feels so awkward at times.
The way that every single episode is set up the same and how there is that lack of background characters to akumatize so there ends up being a bunch of reakumatizations, plus the way that nothing much actually happens, in terms of plot progression, after season one all make it so that the show as a whole after the end of season one feels really stagnant. It’s like Astruc is trying to hold out and wait to drop actual resolution to any of the main plot points until later on but he hasn’t sufficiently constructed other layers to the story, like subplots, to have it still be engaging. In my opinion, MLB could’ve actually been completely tied up with the whole Hawkmoth business back in the season one finale, based on the content of the show, because there’s just not that much there. It makes me mad because the show has a great concept and I love the characters, but it’s just been shit and it’s not getting better.

Yet Another AkuMarinette Idea
Ok so. Basis for this idea is that Hawkmoth’s been exhausting lately with the number of Akumas.. and ladybug has to be there for every. single. one.
The exhaustion gets to be so bad that Marinette can’t stop the Akuma from flying right into her earrings.
And you know what? FUCK Hawkmoth!! Why can’t she let him get a taste of his own medicine for once!!
“Ladybird, I am-”
“Powers in exchange for me trying to steal the two Miraculous? DEAL.”
And she transforms into basically her ladybug form, except for a few differences.
ONE: her stud earrings are no longer round and ladybug-patterned. Instead they are dark purple butterflies
TWO: Big Lavender Moth Wings.
you know how Ladybug opens her yoyo to release the purified akumas? Ladybird can open her yoyo when its empty to CREATE her own ‘akumas’, which are loyal to her.
And she will use this power to absolutely FLOOD paris with akumas who Want to Fight Hawkmoth.
“Lady Wifi, I am Ladybird. I will give you the powers you need to expose Paris’ greatest supervillains! All you have to do in return, is bring me the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculouses...”
“Rogercop, I am Ladybird. I will give you the powers you need to arrest the supervillains of Paris, Hawkmoth and Mayura! All I ask is that you confiscate their Miraculouses and bring them to me...”
“[Horrificator / Vanisher / Prime Queen / Riposte / Dark Owl / Glaciator / Gorizilla / Zombizou / Trouble Maker / Queen Wasp / Anansi / Malediktator / Sandboy / Weredad], I am Ladybird. I will give you the powers you need to take down Hawkmoth and [get attention / restore honor / be a hero / protect your charge / fear no longer]. All I ask in return are the Miraculouses of Hawkmoth and Mayura...”
“Adrien Agreste, I am Ladybird-”
“Uh, no thanks!”
“...No?”
“Nope.”
“...Very well.”
And then i had this idea where Nino snatches the butterfly and:
"Hey dude, Ladybird right? So, if I like, promise to get you Hawkmoth’s Miraculous, will you give me the powers I need to punch Gabriel Agreste in the face?”
“NINO!”
“...Absolutely.”

What order would you recommend watching the second part of season 3? Since it's an out of order mess?
I mean, obviously watch Hearthunter and Miracle Queen in the correct order. If you feel like sitting through MQ that is.
After that, it’s hard to say. There is a production order, which looks something like this:
1. Chameleon
2. Animaestro
3. Bakerix
4. Backwarder
5. Reflekdoll
6. Weredad
7. Silencer
8. Onichan
9. Miraculer
10. Oblivio
11. Desperada
12. Christmaster
13. Startrain
14. Kwamibuster
15. Feast
16. Gamer 2.0
17. Stormy Weather 2
18. Ikari Gozen
19. Timetagger
20. Party Crasher
21. The Puppeteer 2
22. Cat Blanc
23. Felix
24. Ladybug
25. Hearthunter
26. Miracle Queen
Some of this order makes some sense, to an extent, although I can’t explain without getting into spoilers. So, anon, if you haven’t already watched the last part of the season and want to go in blind, I’d suggest returning to the later part of this post after that. Or you can just skip it, if you’re not looking for a long-winded rant. Otherwise, here I go.
SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRETY OF SEASON 3 FROM THIS POINT ON.
Ok, so things that make sense - Party Crasher coming after Desperada, Startrain, and Feast. It doesn’t really matter which of the first two comes first, so long as Party Crasher is after them, because Viperion and Pegase make their return. And we see that Fu is no longer hiding out at his place when he gives Kim Xuppu, so this has to take place after Feast.
Gamer 2.0 coming after Desperada, because she makes a cameo in the game, works.
Timetagger before Cat Blanc checks out, because Bunnix makes her return in the latter episode.
I forget where I saw this, but I think someone on the team said that it was important to see Animaestro before Oblivio, because the poster that the amnesiac Marinette and Adrien see makes more sense when you know it’s from the movie. This could have been easily changed in the script so that the two discover their identities regardless, but whatever I guess.
Both Feast and Stormy Weather 2 make sense as mid-season episodes in theory. There are so many problems with both of these episodes in execution, but I’m not going to detail that here. But on paper, an episode that changes the status quo for the second half of the season, and an episode that recaps how far everyone’s come both work at the midpoint.
Of course, there are so many issues with individual episodes in general, so if they were reworked, I think the order would have to be shifted dramatically.
Ladybug would have been a much better episode if it had been the season finale, or at least a two parter. If you’re going to start the season establishing the Lilanette rivalry, then it only makes sense to end the season with the escalation of that rivalry. And pull no punches either - Marinette’s relationships should get shaken up, characters should second guess their actions, and so forth. Alternatively, I have two other options for how this should have been handled.
1. This should have been put into season 2. Because going into Chameleon after Hero’s Day is jarring tonally, something that has been addressed numerous times by this point, so I’m not going into detail further.
2. If you’re going to keep Chloe as a recurring antagonist and fail to redeem herself, then you don’t really need Lila in the show at all. Marinette can still come across the grimoire when Adrien brings it to school. Maybe he forgets about it or something. The Scarlet Army can be caused by a bunch of things going wrong on Hero’s Day that have a domino effect. Chameleon can be cut entirely, along with Ladybug. Onichan can have Kagami in conflict with her mother, since she wants to be a good daughter and not cause problems, but also feels lonely. Lila only caused everything in Miraculer to happen at a quicker rate, but tbh, I still think the episode would have played out without her. Chloe would have gotten fed up with not getting the bee back and taken it out on Sabrina. This could be its own post tbh.
I agree with @miraculouscontent on Desperada taking place before Silencer, especially with Marinette’s behavior in Silencer basically forgetting all about Adrien, since Desperada she learns that she can like the both of them at the same time.
Felix wasn’t as bad as I was prepared for it to be, but I would still have Adrien reflect on his own pushy behavior toward Ladybug, and give the moral that harassment isn’t just physical, it can also be psychological and verbal as well. Also, I would give new, unique forms for Alya, Juleka and Rose.
Timetagger is okay mostly, but I would want some of the stakes to be higher and the foreshadowing to pack more of a punch. Maybe have future!Alix warn Chat that he’s taking things too far or something. Also, have Alya and Nino actually babysit their siblings together instead of making their friends do it. It’s not a good look for them.
Episodes I would cut:
--> Puppeteer 2 - if you’re not going to make this a dramatic episode where the friend group fights, and just have it as an excuse to embarrass Marinette, then it deserves to be cut. We could actually spend that time on fleshing out Alya and Nino, so that their progress in SW2 doesn’t amount to “dating” and “being superheroes”. Seriously, this episode is the mission statement of the season:
Any other S3 Episode: Clearly, I will have the scene meant to most humiliate/embarrass Marinette.
Puppeteer 2: Hold my beer.
--> Oblivio and Cat Blanc - these episodes are both major teases and do basically nothing for the Love Square except sabotage it. The second one especially explains to us why we shouldn’t ship these two together, in the most dramatic, over the top, killjoy way. Even if I was still a Love Square fan, I would still hate these episodes, because we could actually be getting scenes and episodes that actually develop Marinette and Adrien’s relationship with one another, but instead, we have to waste time and make people feel bad for wanting to “rush” things.
--> Bakerix - while I like that we’re getting more episodes focused on Marinette’s family, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN HER MOM. Hell, this could have been the recap we got - maybe a two parter revolving around her parents realizing that they’ve been growing apart and that their daughter is getting older. OR Weredad could have been more about Marinette growing closer to her friends, not just a potential romance, while an Akumom episode could be about Sabine feeling out of touch with Marinette’s interests.
--> Christmaster - WHY DO WE NEED TWO CHRISTMAS EPISODES THAT WASTE OUR TIME WITH HUMILIATING AND/OR MAKING MARINETTE LOOK BAD? This one is worse in the sense that it could have focused on Nino for once, and have it focus on his relationship with his brother. But no. That’s not funny enough apparently.
→ Reflekdoll - A good example of a body swap/power swap episode: “Trading Faces” from Jimmy Neutron. Because the show actually shows both Jimmy and Cindy failing to adjust to the life of the other, learning to develop a small appreciation for the other by the end of the episode. JN is another episodic based show, so they’re still at each other’s throats for a while, but you can see that soften over time. Reflekdoll, on the other hand, refuses to have Chat learn or understand how hard Ladybug’s job is, especially when all he does is joke around and not take things seriously.
--> Gamer 2.0 - Another episode where Marinette “needs to learn to loosen up” but actually it should be “Marinette learns to prioritize everything in her life while still giving herself some downtime to relax and breathe”. Again, if you cut this episode, you lose nothing really.
TL;DR: You thought you were getting an answer for the best viewing order of season 3, but it was actually a rant about how season 3 is The Worst and how things could have been better. Go with the production codes, I guess.

A Felinette thing
Summary: basically just this
https://a-6-yearold-inside.tumblr.com/post/184742777295/felinette-idea
———————————
Felix was taking his usual walk from his favorite coffee shop back to his house. As he passed the school, he found his thoughts drifting to the nearby Dupain-Cheng bakery, or, more specifically, the raven haired girl living on the highest floor of the building. He remembered knowing with absolute certainty the moment he met her that they were miles apart personality-wise.
He was wrong.
Dupain-Cheng, at first glance, seemed predictable, perky, social, and all of the things he wasn’t. However, after seeing her practically burn with indignation at the Rossi girl’s lies and continually put Bourgeois in her place, he began to recognize the traits he valued. Drive, work ethic, intelligence, and a need for truth.
After a few months and one particularly nasty lie, Dupain-Cheng had snapped. She tore the lie apart with controlled, brutal blows, and her friends, the ones she had been so painstakingly loyal to in the first place, had looked on in horror. The docile bakers daughter was docile no longer.
Needless to say, Rossi had bounced back quickly and soon, seats were changed; and not for the first time, or so he heard. He found himself unmoved in the same seat in the back, but this time not alone.
Dupain-Cheng and he learned to coexist and respect each other over time, but not without difficulty. These difficulties were mainly over Rossi and her untruths. Felix believed that she should cut her losses and allow the lemmings of a class to be lead off their cliff while she (unlike that idiot Agreste) believed they should do whatever necessary to reveal her fibs. However, because of that same blond idiot, she had said nothing until the previously mentioned meltdown.
Felix also learned that having Ma- Dupain-Cheng as an acquaintance would be benificial to him. As Ms. Bustille insisted on group projects, he now didn’t have to partner with that insufferable brat daughter of the mayor. He and the designer turned out to work well together, their opposing calculated and emotional views typically meshing to form well-rounded projects.
He was snapped out of his reminiscing when, from the Dupain-Cheng bakery, a massive vine thundered from the earth, followed by a familiar voice’s cry of “Marinette!” He recognized this voice as Adrien Agreste or rather his super hero alias, Chat Noir.
Yes, Felix knew the identities of Paris’s guardians. However, rather than act, blackmail, bribe, or go public with this information (like that blog girl), Felix chose to simply observe, like he did now.
He observed as Agreste (who was just as much an imbecile when he was a hero as he was as a civilian) utterly failed in landing even a single blow on the akuma who, judging by his build and voice was likely Mr. Dupain-Cheng. He watched as Chat Noir crashed onto the pavement and leapt back to his feet with a mutter “Where are you, Ladybug?” But Ladybug would not be joining this battle, for Ladybug and the girl Chat Noir was trying so desperately to save were one and the same.
He stood and he watched until he could stand it no longer. The only person in class he actually admired was trapped in the grasp of an akuma and he just had to stand by as a leather clad boy with a tail tried, without results, to rescue her?
No, let it not be said that Felix Culpa was the type to stand by.
He dropped his bag, hanging it on the mirror of a nearby car, and ran into the vine infested bakery. He managed to reach the base of the largest vine and begin climbing. All throughout his trek, he listened to the sounds of Chat Noir struggle fruitlessly against Weredad. (For that was what the akuma called himself.) When he reaches the part of the vine where said battle was occurring, Chat Noir locked eyes with him as the akuma continued his speech. “…I will protect her!” He gestured for Felix to climb back down. “Until a brave prince comes along to face me and pluck the magic rose to free her from the tower!” Felix responded deftly with a gesture of his own.
Agreste pursed his lips and Felix couldn’t help the smirk from crawling up his face. Take that, sunshine boy. He turned and continued up the vine, unaware that he akuma had thrown Chat Noir halfway across Paris and was planing to do the same to Felix.
Felix had almost reached the massive cluster of vines keeping his friend associate capitve, when a massive hand lifted him from the vine and turned him to face the akumatized image of Tom Dupain-Cheng.
The giant baker, no matter how friendly, had intimidated Felix even when offering cookies alongside his wife (who was just as tiny as her daughter.) Now, staring into the rage filled eyes of that same man, Felix made a mental note to ensure he was on Mr. Dupain-Cheng’s good side by any means necessary. (This was the same mental note he had made when he saw Sabine Dupain-Cheng prepare to attack someone with a bread paddle.)
Weredad’s eyes narrowed. “ I know you, you’re Marinette’s new friend. The one who never looks like he’s got enough to eat. What are you doing here?” Felix sighed, he’d had this conversation multiple times with the Dupain-Cheng’s. “Mr. Dupain- Weredad.” He amended after seeing the snarl beginning to appear on his face. “I assure you, as I have multiple times already, that I am eating a perfectly average amount for a boy of my age and activity level. As for why I’m here, I’m merely ensuring that your daughter will be at school for the group project tomorrow.”
The akuma’s green eyes squinted at him, scrutinizing every detail. After what had seemed like an eternity, he opened his mouth. Felix flinched, expecting a shout or a threat. Instead he got a whisper soft murmur, so quiet he could hardly hear the query.
“Will you protect her?”
Felix’s mind was racing, questioning this question. What am I protecting her from? Rossi? Akumas? She’s Ladybug, she needs no protection from akumas, just that mangy cat. But what about when she’s Dupain-Cheng? Is she facing struggles I’ve not yet noticed or acted upon? His mouth, however, acted without the assistance of any of these scrambled thoughts.
“With my life.”
The monster of a man nodded, seemingly satisfied, and placed Felix back onto the vine. He stepped back and whispered, even softer than previously, “Then do so.”
With that, the akuma stepped back and nodded to the knot of vines containing his daughter. The vines parted, revealing a door-like hole about Felix’s size. He looked at him for a moment more before racing back into combat with Chat Noir, who had returned while Weredad was occupied with Felix.
Felix stood, stunned, for a moment, before remembering his cause. He raced to the hole and leaped in, all of his thoughts reducing to a steady pulse of Marinette, adrenaline keeping him from schooling himself into his usual cool demeanor. He scrambled forward, not stopping until he saw Marinette hanging off of a clearly booby trapped vine. She swung off and went into a roll that, when she landed on her feet, was so graceful that Felix completely understood how the clutzy blunette could manage to save Paris on a daily basis.
Then she fell.
This wasn’t unusual for Felix. In the short time he’d known Marinette Dupain-Cheng, she had fallen more than enough times for an average person’s entire life. As on instinct, he groaned. “Honestly, Dupain-Cheng? Even with your life on the line, you still find time to fall?”
She whipped around, her hand falling from the obviously akumatized rose. “Felix! What are you doing here? It’s not safe!”
“I was passing by, your house was attacked by an akuma, and I came to ensure that the only other sensible person in class wasn’t murdered by sentient vines.” He made like he was to step forward, but remembered the traps and remained where he was. “Now, could you break the rose and get us out of here?”
“But… uh… LADYBUG?” It was clear that Marinette was grasping for whatever she could to protect her identity. It was time to play up the admiration angle. “I trust that Paris’ hero will show up in time to purify the akuma before it multiplies. At the moment, getting us out of here is my only priority.”
“Well… ok.” The rose snapped and the vines began to shake. Felix flipped around, his feet swept out from under him. He saw a bright flash of light and knew it to be her miraculous transformation. His job was complete now, so he did what he did best. Observed.
He observed as Ladybug used her lucky charm to create a spotted sailboat. He watched as, after being swept into said boat, she and her partner communicated without a single word and got got him and Mr. Dupain-Cheng to the ground safely. He watched as Chat Noir fell into his lady’s arms, allowing himself a moment of rest before racing into the Dupain-Cheng bakery, desperate to ensure his damsel’s safety. He watched as the remaining hero’s face glowed a spectacular pink when he thanked her for saving his friend, before racing away to protect her identity yet again.
He stared at the bakery’s highest floor, until he saw the leather clad cat boy exit. Felix turned and grabbed his bag from the car he left it on. He began, yet again, his walk home, and allowed his thoughts to drift. After all, he had a lot to think about.
With my life
Friend
Yes, certainly a lot to think about.

After the Fall Ch.14 Reflections
LoganLight, AO3
Notes:
Trigger Warning: Panic Attack.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alya was confused.
She didn't like being confused. Even if the source of her confusion was making her other friends happy. Things should make sense when you put them together. That's not to say she didn't see the pattern.
Nino started talking to her about his music again. And more than that, actually sharing it with her. Letting her listen to unfinished mixes and accepting her input.
Marinette was having bursts of inspiration Alya hadn't seen in months. And she wasn't ripping out the Chat Noir inspired designs from her sketchbook like she used to, either.
Alya knew exactly who was responsible for these positive changes: Adrien Agreste!
. . . Okay, so it was probably too convenient for Adrien to be responsible for everything. But he was definitely a major factor!
Nino was spending more time with Adrien (and Kagami). Alya was happy Nino wasn't coming to her about Adrien being reserved around him anymore . . . Although, it was a bit weird that Nino wasn't being as forthcoming about his best friend as he used to be.
Marinette had the opposite reaction, her girl had so many thoughts they all came out in a jumble. They had talked late into the night about that first conversation after half a year of stuttering and single syllable answers. A conversation Adrien had started.
Maybe she was reading too much into this. It was normal to be happy when your friend starts talking to you again . . . But she needed to distract herself from Chat Noir.
Ladybug probably regrets telling me about that.
Alya was in the unenviable position of wanting to respect Ladybug's privacy and really, really wanting to know what happened to Chat Noir. Even if she'd only asked a handful of times her questions upset Ladybug. And that just wouldn't do.
So, without the boys around Rena Rouge had apologized for her behavior. That wasn't something she wanted to repeat anytime soon. Ladybug had enough to deal with as it was.
Still. Sometimes Ladybug acted . . . un-Ladybug-like. The guys wouldn't say anything so that left Rena Rouge to tactfully suggest maybe not putting their heavy hitter in the back. Alya understood why; Ladybug already lost one Black Cat, she wasn't about to lose another one.
Alya put those thoughts into the back of her mind to better focus on the blond enigma in front of her.
Adrien went from being Chloe's friend to her best friend's crush to her boyfriend's best friend. Throughout that first year Alya had spent precious little time actually being Adrien's friend. Instead focusing on Marinette's elaborate . . . she didn't want to say 'schemes'.
Alya hadn't noticed until Marinette's plans went from trying to gain Adrien's affection to trying to help Adrien open up.
And I thought her romance-oriented plans were out there.
. . . Alya really shouldn't be doing this . . . But she wanted to help. She wanted to know. And she wasn't the only one; the whole class wanted to know too.
Good thing Alix is here.
That girl made sure everyone had their head on straight. Especially Kim. Alix was good at talking Marinette out of some . . . questionable ideas. And keeping the art room from bugging Rose about her bandmate too much.
Or she used to. Everyone seemed to have accepted that whatever-it-is would remain a mystery. Adrien was smiling after all. Playing video games with Max, taking part in Kim's silly challenges, giving Nathaniel and Marc constructive criticism (not sure how that happened) on their comics, and basically being more involved with his friends than ever.
Maybe she should just let this go? Adrien wasn't the only one that ever died in an akuma attack or the only one to take it this hard. Alya shuddered as she remembered Syren.
"Trixx, what do you think?"
"I think you've been staring at a guy who isn't your boyfriend longer than socially acceptable," Trixx replied from his hiding place in her hair.
Alya blushed. "I have not!"
Some of the students in the courtyard turned to give her funny looks. Thankfully Adrien and Kagami were too far away to hear. Alya held her phone a bit higher, pretending to speak into it. No, it wasn't recording. Yet.
"Mm, you kind of have though. It's starting to reach Marinette levels," Trixx pointed out.
"I'm nowhere near Marinette levels!" Alya whisper-shouted.
"True. She never took pictures."
Alya groaned. Or maybe it was a growl.
"Didn't Nino make it abundantly clear that Adrien doesn't want to tell anyone else whatever-it-is?" Trixx reminded her.
"According to the Bro Code it is totally prohibited for me to reveal confidential info without the express permission of said bro . . . Sorry, dude."
". . . I wanna be mad at him."
"For being as good a friend to Adrien as you are to Marinette?"
"Majestia help me. It sounds so terrible when you put it like that."
Trixx patted her head. "You're a good Fox. And part of being a good Fox is knowing when to keep a secret."
"Even though I don't actually know it?"
"Especially then."
Alya lowered her phone. "So . . . No more snooping around Adrien?"
"What're you asking me for?"
"Right," Alya stood straighter and repeated herself with more conviction. "Right! Adrien is my friend who greatly values his privacy and I should respect-"
"M. DUPAIN! W-w-what are you doing here!?"
Alya looked at Adrien again and standing beside him was indeed Tom Dupain. How had she missed someone so tall? Alya walked toward them.
"-seen Marinette?" Tom Dupain asked.
"N-n-no." Adrien took a step back. "She m-might be in the art room."
Kagami grasped one of his hands tightly and stepped forward. "I'm sure Marinette just forgot to turn her phone back on . . . M. Damocles! M. Dupain is looking for Marinette."
Adrien quickly backed away, removing his hand from Kagami's who followed a step behind. Kagami positioned herself between Tom Dupain and Adrien.
"-really come to the office first." M. Damocles chastised.
"Oh, yes, of course! It's just . . . where is that again?"
Alya passed the two adults who didn't notice Adrien curling in on himself.
"It wasn't him . . . It wasn't him . . . It wasn't him . . . It wasn't him!"
"What- What's going on?" she asked Kagami.
Kagami ignored her and reached toward Adrien, who was pressing himself against the wall. "Adrien-"
"Don't. Touch. Me."
Kagami snatched her hand back. Adrien took deep breaths. Alya restrained herself from asking more questions.
Nino zoomed past her. "Adrien! Dude, what-"
Kagami jerked him to a stop.
"Hey!"
"He said no touching," Kagami explained.
"Oh . . ." Nino glanced from Adrien to their surroundings, his frown deepened.
Alya followed his gaze and realized they were attracting attention.
Nino gave Kagami a you-know-what-to-do look. She nodded and turned to glare at the gawkers; suddenly everyone was very interested in something else.
"Hey, bro? You wanna, maybe, go somewhere less . . . public?"
". . . Don't talk to me like that."
". . . You're totally causing a scene and I know you hate that. So get your butt moving, dude!"
Adrien's lips twitched. "Okay." He wouldn't meet anyone's eyes as he made his way to the boy's restroom.
"Nino!" This time Alya reached out to stop him. "Wait. What . . . What triggered him?"
Nino glanced between Alya's expectant face and Adrien's retreating back. He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "Ah, yeah. Look, dude, Adrien needs me now but, uh . . . Kagami! You explain!"
Alya turned to see Kagami's look of surprise and then turned back just in time to see her boyfriend disappear into the boy's room.
Why, that little-
"Coward!" Kagami exclaimed.
I'm the only one allowed to insult my boyfriend!
Alya mentally shook the automatic thought away. "So, how 'bout that explanation?"
"My honor prevents me from divulging anything without Adrien's consent," Kagami replied neutrally.
That sounded suspiciously similar to what Nino had told her . . . Although it wasn't any different from what Kagami had said before. The idea that the three of them had planned specifically for her left Alya feeling  . . . conflicted.
"All I want is to know what happened so I can help! Then Adrien won't have to deal with . . . This!" Alya gestured vaguely around them.
Kagami's eyes softened. "Today was a special circumstance. I doubt he's encountered this trigger at all since the incident."
Alya tried not to feel annoyed at the deflection. "This trigger? What was different today?"
Kagami just raised an eyebrow.
"Adrien, you, no Nino, no Marinette, M. Dupain . . ." Alya's eyes widened. "Weredad!"
"Keep your voice down!"
"Of course! The timing matches up! That's why he . . . Oh."
"It took you this long to piece that together?"
"I was a bit distracted at finding out one of my friends died! Not turned into a statue or encased in magical ice or . . . Or anything else! Died."
Kagami's look shifted. "Is this the first time it's happened to someone close to you?"
"No, but . . . It's been a while."
"I see." Kagami must've seen that Alya didn't want to talk about that with her. "Have you told Marinette?"
"My girl has enough to deal with. I can't just go 'Hey, Marinette! Adrien died half a year ago and didn't tell anyone because reasons!' "
"Perhaps you should say that louder so everyone can hear," Kagami said sarcastically.
Alya ignored this and barreled on with her rant. "No way! Not doing that! Especially with Weredad involved. She has this weird guilt about that villain! Knowing Adrien got caught up in it will only make her feel worse!"
"And how would Adrien feel if I betrayed his trust by telling you something he doesn't want me to?"
. . . Well, drat.
"That's a fair point but I already figured out Weredad. Isn't there anything you can tell me about what happened?"
"Adrien didn't offer specifics and I didn't ask."
Alya sighed in defeat. Kagami hadn't budged since this whole affair started. At this point Alya was just questioning Kagami out of habit.
"At least I know why Adrien was avoiding my girl now."
"Right. That's why he did that."
". . . Do you think Nino needs help?"
"Boy's bathroom. And no, he's much better at getting Adrien to 'chill' than I am."
"You three seem close."
"Hasn't Nino provided exposition?"
"My boyfriend is suspiciously unforthcoming"
Kagami smiled. "He really is terrible at keeping secrets."
"Oh, you have no idea."
Kagami gave her a thoughtful look. "How is Marinette?"
"Well, now that 'Sunshine' is talking to her again Marinette's obs- concern is at an all time low. Thanks for that."
Kagami shook her head. "I should be thanking you. I don't think Adrien would have opened up to Nino when he did if you hadn't talked to him. You're a good friend."
Gratitude swelled in Alya's chest at the words.
"He's had fewer off day's with Nino around," Kagami continued. "Today notwithstanding."
"Do you think they'll stay in there all day?" Alya remembered Adrien's previous episodes.
"Adrien's stronger than you think," Kagami stated with conviction.
As if to prove her point that's when the boys emerged. Nino looked at the girls nervously. Adrien seemed embarrassed but held his head up.
Kagami stepped toward them and raised an eyebrow "Well?"
Adrien took a deep breath and said, "I need to see M. Dupain again."
"What!?" Alya exclaimed.
Kagami's other eyebrow rose to meet the first then she narrowed her eyes accusingly at Nino.
"Dude, it's not my fault! I tried to talk him out of it! Bro's seriously determined."
Kagami looked at Adrien. "You shouldn't push yourself before you're ready. Healing takes time."
"I've had time. Now I need to face my demons." Adrien squared his shoulders.
"That's great and all," Alya said. "But you faced him ten minutes ago. Didn't turn out so great."
"Understatement," Nino agreed.
Adrien gave a questioning look to Kagami.
"She knows about Weredad," Kagami explained.
"Ah." Adrien pushed his surprise aside and looked at them, unwavering. "He took me by surprise. I can do this! . . . If you help me."
Well . . . That's just cheating.
Kagami stared at him for a moment. Apparently satisfied with what she saw Kagami nodded. "Alright."
"What!?" Nino cried out, full of concern. "But . . . Dude . . ."
"He says he can do it," Kagami said, giving Nino a meaningful look.
Nino glanced between Adrien and Kagami, his worried eyes landed on Alya.
"I'm in," Alya said.
Adrien gave her a grateful smile.
Nino slumped in resignation but quickly straitened and set his cap. "Right dudes! If we're gonna do this someone needs to look out for Marinette and Chloe."
Alya understood perfectly. Didn't want Marinette seeing Adrien react badly to her dad. And as for Chloe . . .
------------------------------------------------------
"Of course Queen Bee is the best superhero!" Chloe exclaimed. "But at least Panthera is much better than that mangy alley cat who turned tail and ran!"
The courtyard was suddenly very quiet except for Marinette's growling beside Alya. Nino and Kagami stood next to a stiff Adrien, shooting daggers at Chloe.
"What?" Chloe asked disdainfully. "Anyone with eyes can see it. Ladybug herself told me Chat Noir just up and left! Right?"
Sabrina nodded vigorously.
Alya wasn't sure who was angrier: her or Nino. That was not what Ladybug told them! Alya opened her mouth to launch verbal barbs at Chloe, but her words were lost in the cacophony of voices.
"How dare you!?"
"Like you'd know a good superhero-"
"Chloe Bourgeois!"
"-if he fell on your head!"
"Chat Noir was an awesome hero!"
"Ladybug would be ashamed of-"
"Oh, please!'" Chloe cut them off . "Like you haven't been thinking the same thing! We're all better off without that-"
"Shut. Up."
Everyone stared at Adrien in varying degrees of shock. He was trembling, eyes down and fists clenched.
"A-all you do is i-insult everyone around you. Criticizing e-every flaw l-like you don't have any." Adrien looked up to glare at Chloe who stood frozen. "That- That's not okay! J-just because you're in pain doesn't give you the right to m-make everyone else as miserable as you!"
Adrien bolted. Chloe lurched after him. "Adrien, wait!"
She didn't get far as Nino blocked her path. "No, you don't, dude!"
"Outta my way you-"
Kagami walked up to Nino's side "No."
Fluttering black wings appeared in the corner of Alya's eye. She whipped her head toward it so fast pain flared in her neck . . . But it was only a white butterfly.
Unease filled Alya as she gazed around at her agitated classmates. Alix and Kim glared angrily at Chloe. The blond herself demanded to see Adrien, tears threatening to spill out of her eyes. Rose and Juleka held each other while Luka stood protectively near them. Max was attempting to calm a confused Markov. It was a powder keg.
Alya turned to a troubled Marinette who gazed in the direction Adrien fled. "Girl, you gotta do something."
Marinette snapped out of her thoughts. "M-me?"
"Yes, you!" Alya took in everyone around them with her hands. "This is one black butterfly short of an akuma attack."
"Yeah, but . . ."
"They'll listen to you, Marinette."
Determination filled Marinette"s eyes as she nodded. "Make sure Adrien doesn't get akumatized."
"You got it, girl."
As Marinette went to pacify a former Bee, a Turtle, and a potential Dragon, Alya searched for Adrien. He wasn't hard to find.

Notes:
Alya is being introspective (and a bit hard on herself) due to circumstances. Trixx can totally hide in her hair and no one can convince me otherwise! Trixx is either a more nuanced Plagg or a more mischievous Tikki: I can't decide which.
The second part is a flashback in case that wasn't clear.
Chloe is the most vocal critic of Chat Noir. If she was less clingy or if Adrien was more vulnerable I believe he'd take it MUCH harder than he does in canon. Though he might be repressing that like he does everything else. Also, Adrien is her main motivator when it comes to improving herself. Take him away and she regresses easily.
As for Alya's observations in the beginning: All of her friends are under new and stressful conditions that have only really been normalizing recently. Her boyfriend and best friend are creative types and stress is very good at giving you a creative block.
(Also, I’m taking liberties with panic attacks because I didn’t research them at all when I wrote this. Sorry, about that.)

I haven't watched ml since season 1, I intended to start watching it again but everyone says it's gotten kind of bad. Could you please update me?
I’ll be entirely honest, I haven’t really been watching the episodes as such. I don’t bother blocking out spoilers so between them and just reading the synopsis for the episodes, I just pick and chose which episodes I want to watch.
But from what I’ve heard and read, I believe that Miraculous Ladybug is Good Idea, Dodgy Execution.
(This got longer than I thought. And a lot saltier. I’ve tried to keep it more critical than just salt. The rest is undercut and I think I’ve explained why everyone says it’s gotten bad. If you just want an update, scroll until the first line cut.)
Personally, I was never a fan of the Episodic Arcs Only format they went for. I don’t think it suits the type of show they were going for and it feels sloppy and like a... (there’s a word I’m looking for but the only that comes to mind is Shortcut). I could let it be for Season 1 (since it was the first season, they’re learning and we’re learning) but Season 2, for me, kinda failed to bring it up. The Collector, which was the first episode of Season 2 started strong but afterwards, the Season felt kinda flat. I haven’t even bothered with Season 3. The only one I watched was Chamelion and a bit of Weredad (to which I say, what the fuck was that?)
So the show hasn’t gotten worse. It just hasn’t gotten better.
To take an example of probably the only show I have ever watched more than once (I’m kinda a watch and done person so for me to watch it over and over is a big deal for me), the 2003-2009 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles did episodic formating the best since they didn’t stick to just Episode Arcs. I know the goal of Miraculous Ladybug was to be able to watch in any order but it doesn’t work. It showed in Season One that it didn’t work (Evillustrator comes to mind) but they just kept trying to pound it in. TMNT 2003 did it right. They focused on Episode Arcs but had background Arcs going, tried to tie up any loose ends (which they mostly succeeded at) and if you hadn’t seen a previous episode that led up to it, they had like a 30-second flashback. And for me, that worked. I could watch any episode and still know what was going on even in the middle of an arc.
So I think that’s the biggest contributor to the issues the fandom has now. The status quo of the show is Marinette is in Love with Adrien who is in love with Ladybug. The show has to keep that status if they want to keep going with Episodic Arcs.
Which means Chloe’s Character Development isn’t going to happen. I thought they might succeed with the Battle of the Queens Arcs but they failed immediately afterwards. (Look I would take Chloe just not being the cause of Akumas anymore which Stormy Weather 2 showed isn’t happening.)
It means Marinette isn’t going to start talking normally or make any headway with Adrien despite the fact the audience is going to get/have gotten sick of it.
It means Adrien is continuously going to keep flirting with Ladybug despite the fact that we have seen her turn him down numerous times. (Which is not a good message for the so-called target age group.)
It means that any character development that should have happened by now, doesn’t matter.
It means characters like Lila Rossi or Mayura/Nathalie aren’t going to be regular despite being major players to kick off arcs.
They wanted Episodic Arcs? They got it at the expense of Character Development, potential plotlines, a decent writing timeline and a solid release schedule. It’s predictable and in season 3? That’s not good. This was released four years ago and they are in contact with fans. They should know this.
(There also some suspicion that Fan Content was stolen by the creators which is hardly helped by the fact the show is predictable. Normally I would blow this off but the creators have been exposed to a huge amount of content (whereas normally Creators stay away from it to prevent that kind of accusation) and some of the stuff that has come out is a little suss. There was once a running joke that TheLastPilot was nearly prophetic about the show but now it’s just worrisome. Some acknowledgement about how similar the ideas are would have settled my unease rather than the defensive mocking than we got.)
They keep saying it’s a kids show. I’m saying it deserves better.
But you didn’t ask for my salt. So here’s what you need to know
Alya is a part-time user of the fox miraculous and is called Rena Rouge. Her power is a one time use of illusions called mirage.
Nino is a part-time user of the Turtle Miraculous and is called Carapace. His ability is a one time use of a massive shield bubble called Shelter.
Chloe is a part-time user of the Bee Miraculous and is called Queen Bee. Her power is a one time use stun called Venom.
(I am salty about the names. I won’t deny it. At least Nino’s is half creative.)
Marinette has met the Guardian of the Miraculous, Master Fu, and now she and Adrien have access to different environmental abilities. The ones we’ve seen are Underwater suits and Ice suits.
Gabriel Agreste is confirmed to be Hawkmoth.
Nathalie knows that he is Hawkmoth and actively helped him in the finale of Season 2, first as an Akuma then as a user of the Peacock Miraculous called Mayura. The Peacock Miraculous is ‘broken’ and it’s believed that that’s why Mrs Agreste is not missing but in a magical coma.
Mrs Agreste is in a weird ass tube under Agreste Mansion and Gabriel wants to use the Ultimate Power to cure her.
Another thing that has popped up is Love Interests. (Warning; Saltier than the Dead Sea)
To clarify, I haven’t bothered to watch any of these episodes and I will not watch them. I am not a fan of love triangles (the weird love square aside because technically that’s just two idiots who can’t recognise each other) and I find it annoying (and possibly sexist) that 1) Adrien’s love interests (Marinette, Chloe, Lila and the new one) all seem to fight over him and 2) Marinette’s love interests are all chill.
Kagami Tsurugi is a Japanese girl who looks similar to Marinette, only with dark almond eyes and a bob cut. Kagami is a great Fencer which is how she is introduced to the show. She seems cool but they immediately framed her as a love interest for Adrien which just pisses me off so I didn’t watch any of it. If they had just made her a friend and then slowly brought up the idea that she and Adrien might date, then I might have accepted it (doubtful but now we’ll never know).
Luka Couffaine is Juleka’s older brother that as far as I can tell takes chill to a whole new level and is a musician. I haven’t touched anything to do with him because of an irrational (and I admit it is irrational) annoyance that Luka is basically just bait. And he is. He is bait for Marinette Character Development that won’t happen, he’s bait for Adrien Character Development that won’t happen and he’s bait for shippers who are sick of the love square going nowhere.
We know that the Love Square is end game. This is already complicated enough without more love interests.
If the two had been introduced as new friends, Kagami as a Fencing Friend (preferably not an enabler like Nino kinda is) for Adrien (and maybe Marinette), and Luka as an older friend for Marinette (and maybe Adrien on how to stick up for your good friends when a liar tries to isolate them.) I would be more chill about this, but they introduced them as Love Interests and now I want basically nothing to do with them.
