#vent tw#continuation.#its always weird when dying feels better and when it doesnt#for a few years it always got worse at the end of the school year#but my attempt was a few days before halloween#and now im sitting here thinking about how id do it if i werent such a coward(not even crying about it for once! progress)#in the middle of the summer.#sometimes i wanna say all this in the vent channels of servers with friends#but i cant because everyone has their own issues and im not gonna be a cause of them for people#plus when i tried to tell them about my attempt they just said i didnt need to tell them things i didnt want to#which wasnt the point. the point was it started to feel imaginary in my head and i thought telling them would make it less inaginary#especially since nobody knew it was happening st the time#i kinda wanna swallow another bottle of pills#it was so easy to just put them in one at a time#i went to school as if nothing was wrong. if i hadnt been a coward i couldve come home and laid down#and maybe i wouldnt have woken up to complain about dumb problems ever again#it wouldve been so nice#plus its not like anyone wouldve cared back then#both my best friends dont talk to me anymore. im a burden on my family. none of my dnd characters are good enough#everyone would get over it#i wanna make another scab but if all goes well ill already have 2#and besides i dont wanna feel soft flesh slowly squeezing out of my mouth until a single bit of skin is between my teeth and i bite it off#i wanna feel the pressure of a pencil digging into my skin carving a line across deep enough to stay there#i want to feel flesh between my nails and the biting pain of it coming off#i want a knife that im too scared to use#yknow i was right when i said my diary brought out the worst in me#writing makes all the ugly stuff come out#my drawings are pretty and not personal and made so i can show other people#everything i write ends up sad and ugly

WIFI IS MINE ONCE AGAIN as i sit on a mattress on the floor
#it feels like ive been without it for so long...#it has been... three and a half days... i am Weak....#nah jk i wouldve been find without it for much longer#but boy howdy am i Glad to be able to use my dear beloved laptop again#i am In The New Place i am Beginning To Settle#tomorrow i begin unpacking my own stuff!!! exciting!!!#i cant wait to admire all of my Things!#ohhhh and i finally have a spot on the wall for my combo whiteboard/corkboard....#im still very stressed and i want to lay in a hole but!!#i am doing slightly better than a few days ago!#the weather has been nice... cool and rainy... i am not used to cool and rainy#its also cold and i am - unfortunately - a desert creature#suffice to say i am wearing hand warmers a hoodie and a blanket#absolutely unprompted#the place's last owner Didnt Fucking Clean though#so there have been many spiders. and cobwebs. and general Grime we will have to scrub#like seriously today i was dusting the ceiling. THE CEILING.#had to dust & vacuum the windowsills... gonna scrub my bathroom tomorrow...#theres a large tear in my bedroom carpet too...#ugh and the cabinets are Small so organizing all the spices and shit has been Rancid#stuff has to go out of place and you cant see it all and MY ORGANIZATIONAL SYSTEMS ARE CRUMBLING#sometimes it feels like my adhd and autism are fistfighting but during a move?#lockstep babeyyyy. they are Streamlined. lots of things and lots of sorting & placing and eeheehee#i have also killed most of the freakishly huge mosquitos in the house so! things are better!#that first night was Rough! its better now! this shell is becoming a House!

speaking of fucked up overly hated female twdg characters i find it Super Interesting how people will say carver was the best villain in the whole series, but when lilly is literally just a successful carver (iron fist leader of a community turning children into soldiers) suddenly shes a bad/lame villain for some reason 🤔
#twdg#hmm im sure this has nothing to do with the fact shes a woman (a woman that a lot of people hated since S1)#AND they gave her a giant boat? thats funny#LIKE if they did originally plan to have kenny be carver in S2 she is LITERALLY JUST THAT IDEA but the woman version of it#also i find it interesting that her speech about larry and the lights is reminiscent of that first convo between shane and rick in the show#i happened to like S1 lilly for the most part and felt her evolution in S4 made perfect sense#she hated being questioned. wanted total authority. ex military and so used to dealing with military types. family/loyalty important to her#which is why her and clem meeting again and clashing heads is so narratively interesting#is this person your family? can you bring them to your side? are they even the same person? when do you let go?#so many themes in S4 mmm yummy#a theme vi/minnie share too#and mitch brings up the sentiment while burning ms martin#but yeah im in the 'lilly was actually the best villain in the whole series' camp i wonder whos in here with me. is it quiet in here#it wouldve been nice to see more of the delta... unfortunately if things needed to be cut its understandable why it was#you dont NEED to know more about the delta than whats been told#but i would like to 😔#like could we have been given more fleshing out of her character? sure. do we actually NEED it? no#it speaks

i will forever complain about how lilith stopped doing bounties for the characters, cuz they actually made me invested in wanting to know more about said characters. sure the little lore stuff in their careers profile is nice but i liked seeing them in different situations and scenarios and how they'd handle it. Idk it was nice seeing the characters just livin life and being themselves in the bounties. just a personal gripe towards lilith, whatever.

Jessamine's design has always intrigued me. the stark, full black suit and tall collar are pretty obvious status symbols. black was for the longest time an incredibly expensive colour of fabric due to how difficult it was to achieve proper rich blackness during the dyeing process and the collar, while most likely just a trend in Dunwall fashion inspired by the 1890s high collars can be read as lace, especially in some concept art, which is hard to care for and needs to be starched to hell and back to keep nice and stiff for a collar like that
but what I find a lot more curious about this is that the clothes appear very much inspired by Spanish renaissance fashion
which, honestly, would make sense with the real world inspiration. 19th century was obsessed with the past, with the romanticized medieval and renaissance times, and it was quite common to see fashion inspired by times long past (I mean, just look at Worth. the man invented haute couture and there is so much influence of medieval and Elisabethan fashion in his designs). it was also a thing for rich families to just kinda... invest in recreations of historical pieces of clothing and LARP in them.
Jessamine's clothes, in particular, reminded me of Spanish court dresses. especially of the portraits of Anne of Austria and Elisabeth of Valois
obsessed with those slit sleeves. too bad Jessamine didn't go the extra mile to have the sleeves hang long and heavy around her arms but they were more form fitting
there is also something to be said about the tall white (possibly starched lace) collar and the style of clasps used on her clothes
the mini cape thing she has on top is more similar to the style of capes worn by men in renaissance, but yeah, of course she reminded me of a Spanish princess when this is one of the most given example portraits for this style
I wonder if this was an intentional choice on the designer's side or if they were just inspired by the revivalism present in 19th century fashion. what really makes me consider that though is that one of her earlier designs has those sleeves much, Much more pronounced and obvious

still, it makes me wonder: if this was intentional, what does this tell us about Jessamine, and the history of the Isles themselves?

i absolutely love how the devs portray reth and his relationship with tish. i feel like so often in media we see siblings hate each other when one of them was sick/disabled/otherwise needed more care, and i do understand why this is common and important to see, but i also love that their relationship Isn't like that. reth still loves, appreciates, and wants to protect tish. he's also not completely overprotective either. he just. loves his sister! and wants to see her happy! and it would've been so easy for the devs to make him spiteful or envious of her but instead they made him a good brother which is So refreshing to see. i love that they have a good relationship with each other
