Honestly wukong being trapped in the celestial realm is kinda a tragic fate considering his past and how much he truly cares for his freedom was he the only one who could fill the position and I cant help but feel MK would be preety upset about it and having to take the mantle of monkey king much sooner than he anticipated
To remind everyone, the AU is settled after S4 WITHOUT the specials. Wukong defeats Azure cause he’s the only one that can do it and absorbs the essence of the Jade Emperor, making him the new emperor. Unlike Azure, Wukong can control it and the world does not collapse immediately. The only bad thing is that he cannot exit the Celestial Realm or things will start to go south.
This makes Wukong the Golden Emperor and Mk has to accept his new role as Monkey King earlier than they all wanted. But it’ll be okay, they got each other and nothing will stop them
Until a shadow starts to make a plan, until a demon starts to scheme, until a daughter gets revenge
