Thinking about the fact that they made Izzy a new leg, and left the leg outside his room for him cause they knew he wouldn't take it from them directly. Thinking about the fact they wrote him a note. Thinking about Pete and Lucius wanting to spend the rest of their lives together. Thinking about the fact that Stede and Ed actually talked to each other. Thinking about how Ed was trying to pretend he wasn't excited that Stede invited him back to the ship. Thinking about how Stede was trying to pretend he wasn't excited when Ed said yes. Watched the new episodes of Our Flag Means Death today. I want to scream into a pillow for the next century. I want to sleep for a thousand years. I just. I love this show. But it is making me feel things, and I dislike that very much. What do you mean I feel bad for Izzy Hands??? I didn't prepare for this. What do you mean Blackbeard going to purgatory and realising he hates himself and feels unlovable has had a profound effect on me? What do you mean seeing Lucius and Pete together again makes me want to ball my eyes out because of how happy I am for them? How am I supposed to move on from this I am mentally devastated.

I want to talk about the gay pirates, but every time I think about the gay pirates I want to scream, throw up, curl into a ball and cry and then stare at a wall for hours because I love the gay pirates and they mean so much to me and they are so sweet and I need the gay pirates to be happy or else I will explode. It is quite the predicament.

Even though Nimona has no mother he still has mama's boy energy and this is something I will argue until the day I die. You will have to pry the concept from my cold, dead, decomposing hands. They are the biggest mamas boy ever, and there's nothing anyone can do to convince me otherwise

So I just started watching Our Flag Means Death for the first time, and WHY THE FUCK DID NOBODY TELL ME THE GUY WHO VOICED CORAN FROM VOLTRON IS IN THIS???? I feel lied to

Thinking about Ambrosius and Ballister growing up together and Ambrosius thinking it was really cool Bal wanted to be a knight. Thinking about Bal and Ambrosius studying together. Thinking about how Ambrosius probably looked up to Bal and was inspired by Bal's persistence and determination because, who wouldn't be? Ballister made history. He put in years of work and effort and it nearly paid off, he would've definitely been a great knight if it wasn't for the Director. I hope he got to be after the end.

I am the kind of person that when watching something, if a character I'm very fond of goes through immense amounts of trauma I go 'noo my baby how could you do this to them' whilst simultaneously jotting down things that make the situation even angstier with a pen

Adding on to this cause I thought of more stuff in regards to Nimona cooking.

I think Nimona would be really good at making meals out of basically nothing. Like she'd find a couple things in the back of a cupboard and be like 'this will do' and will somehow make something out of it. It's not the best, obviously, but it's still something. I also think she's good at making stuff that lasts a long time. She also doesn't like to waste food. Like if she can find a use for the scraps of something she will. She will find ways to use as much as each ingredient as possible.

When Bal and Ambrosius realise this about Nimona, they're both simultaneously impressed and concerned. Because like, 'Yes Nimona it's very impressive you lived off of food from bins and that you can make food out of basically nothing, but when was the last time you ate a proper meal?'

And this leads to Ambrosius and Ballister cooking for her and taking her out for food as much as they can, because what are they gonna do? Not make sure she has whatever food she needs and wants at all times? Of course not. Like they force her to eat vegetables on occasion but other than that, she can have whatever. They make sure that their house is stocked up on all the foods she likes, and they offer to take her out to restaurants/order takeaway they know she particularly likes.

Meanwhile Nimona is just struggling to comprehend that she has access to food whenever she wants it. Things like fresh fruit and warm meals that were a novelty for so long are now something she just has access to. And she doesn't even have to really work for it, it's just there. And like that's great for her obviously, but imagine how overwhelming it would be to go from not knowing when your next meal would be, to having access to whatever food you want all of the time.

And also, Nimona now has access to all the ingredients she could possibly want. She doesn't have to cobble something together with scraps anymore, she has ingredients to make whatever she wants whenever she wants, which is a freedom she probably hasn't had ever.

And the thing is, if Nimona tried to explain it, someone like Ambrosius probably wouldn't get it. Because Ambrosius was rich and had access to food whenever, and he's always had that. But Ballister? Ballister who was probably an orphan who (probably) grew up poor and didn't really have access to much food until the Queen decided to let him become a knight, which led to him being (sort of) taken care of by the institute, at least to the point where he had access to food? He would get it. And imagine how heartbreaking that would be. For Bal to have to realise that Nimona went through the same thing he did for a thousand years.

Anyway yeah sorry for rambling I love angst. I am also mildly frustrated by those who think Nimona can't cook, because she definitely can and if the kitchen does get set on fire it is because Nimona decided to be a heathen.

Nimona can cook because she's had to cook for herself with limited ingredients for eons. Nimona wasn't scared of the arrow because she's probably had injuries worse than that that she's had to figure out how to treat by herself. Nimona can fight so well because she's had nobody else to fight for her. Nimona probably has the best self-preservation of anyone in the kingdom because she HAD to, she had no one else to take care of her. Gloreth was the first person to accept Nimona as she was (before turning on her), but even then, Gloreth couldn't take care of her. She was a child. The first person we ever know of who takes care of her is Ballister, but before that she had no one.
