WIP Wednesday: Plant Company
Thank you for the ask! As I was writing your sentences, I realized that I never actually planned out what Alta Station looks like and I'm 13 chapters into this story, which up until this point has taken place mainly *in* Alta Station.
WIP Wednesday Game-Plant Company (original story)
Allan's eyes widened as Gatling acknowledged over the comm.
"You really think he might try to leave the station?" she asked as she followed Haskell to the nearest exit and out into the third atrium.
Alta station was built as a series of specialized wings that extended from a set of three atria ringing the station's main reactor.

Ok so I've finally finished "Aristotle & Dante Dive into the Waters of the World" (a few days ago now).
I'm gonna start with: I got so fucking scared towards the end when they "broke up" and Dante didn't talk to him for weeks and left. God I think not many stories have ever made me feel like that. I think I actually have a bit of a trauma with one in particular that went like that and, actually followed up on not giving me a happy ending.
I was tired but I wasn't sure how I was gonna sleep with that in my mind, until Ari said he was going to Paris and so I knew I could have some hope.
Tbh I had a few more issues with this one than the first. I talked about it before but I didn't really like how it sort of pushed the idea that you HAD to come out to your friends even if you don't feel ready. I also felt like sometimes there wasn't enough Dante? I like Ari's friends and all, but these books are called Aristotle AND DANTE.
I also feel like, in a way, all the characters are a bit too articulate? Maybe too mature even? In the first book I didn't mind it as much cause it was just Ari and Dante themselves, plus their moms I guess, but here Gina and Susie are more relevant and there's Cassandra and Ari's father talks a lot more and there's more stuff like his mom arguing with other people, and it was just like... Well I guess it would be nice if most people were like that in real life, but they're really not...
That aside though, it was obviously still amazing. One thing I liked was Ari actually being gay and that term being used throughout? I usually don't mind when certain characters are mlm without their specific sexuality being stated, and ofc bi/gay couples are nice too, but I feel like sometimes in fiction it ends up being a bit more rare to have couples with two gay guys even though that's what's more common in real life.
I also love how fucking horny he was at the beginning lol. Like this actually felt realistic, and even though there's no smut or anything, it's not something that's just ignored or pushed aside.
I felt like Dante felt a bit more realistic in this book. He's moody so many times and I think his flaws are more visible and so it feel less like he's just there to be Ari's perfect manic pixie dream girl (though I'll say he's still one, affectionately).
Something I thought when I finished the first book was how cool it would probably be to see their parents reacting to their relationship. And that was indeed really cute. I think Dante's mom is my favorite of them all. And on the topic of the parents, Ari's dad's death? That was a complete shock to me. I wasn't expecting it at all. It came out of nowhere but it was honestly really interesting to have Ari and his mom deal with that grief, and that whole section is probably, in a weird way, one of my favorite parts of the book.
Another interesting thing was how much the AIDS crisis in the backdrop affected the book. I remembered when they flashed to that in the movie and I was confused at how random it seemed, but now I can kinda get why. I thought it was the best they could do by making it matter to the characters even though they probably wouldn't and shouldn't be actually affected. It's kinda funny to me how I decided to read this sometime close to when I watched Fellow Travelers that also featured that into the story, cause it's honestly not something I've thought about as much before.
Something that was really important was the closure between Ari and his brother. I'm not gonna say it bothered me exactly, because it was understandable, but it was just always kind of an ick for me that Ari cared so much about him knowing he was there because he killed someone in a hate crime. So the way their reunion went down was actually perfect for me and gave me a much needed relief just like it did for Ari. I feel like the writer probably felt the need to address it too because of the stuff people were saying about the first book due to this plot point, but even if that was why I still felt like the way things were handled felt natural. Their parents had already given up on him, he was never gonna accept Ari and I didn't want for Ari to stay caring about him by just not telling him or something.
I know the ending is a bit vague and doesn't like reeally explain every little thing, but the message felt clear enough to me, in that it was meant to tell us that things will be alright and that they're not just gonna let their love slip through their fingers or run away from it. Ari coming in with the wedding and honeymoon talk? Got me.
It still feels kinda weird that it's really over because it had honestly become so much of a habit to read these almost every day in bed. These books were probably the easiest thing for me to read and just flowed so naturally. I know people have already said that, but they really do feel like a way to celebrate life despite all the hardships in it and you can feel that love through the pages.

do you think a colossal squid would exist in splatoon? id imagine theyd definitely be a lot smaller but still noticeably taller/bigger than other inkfish
(I got carried away so for answers to the ACTUAL QUESTION, skip to paragraph 5.)
Given how many other "repeat species" there are in Splatoon (for example many different types of crab, and separate species of jellyfish and anemone that are similar in physique but still distinct species, and now different species of Octoling) i definitely see them in the realm of possibility. This opening segment isn't really relevant to the ask, but I got too caught up in the "do you think (x) would exist" concept, so now i feel the need to evaluate what makes a species "likely" to exist in the Splatoon world. There's some animals that wouldn't exist on account of being extinct (Including marine mammals unless they randomly decide to do a plot point with a hidden dolphin society like they did with Mr Grizz). Different Octoling and Inkling species seemed pretty unlikely before because there wasn't much canon evidence that it COULD be a thing, but now there is, so it's a whole new ball park.
Generally, with how much variety there has been and continuously is in terms of species coming up in band art, even "unlikely" species that don't make sense as anthropomorphic creatures just kinda are there, which means the whole "would this and this exist" conversation is kind of pointless now in my opinion? For example anemones, urchins and worst of all, CORALS and seaweed. None of those really make sense as Guys but they evolved, so at this point if a sea creature exists, it can be a Guy. It can be a bunch of other things, too, as we know there's bug-like flying scallops and split evolution within very similar species is present. And like a major species in the game are sentient, severed limbs of another species, which btw would be great to get an actual canon origin explanation on that is STRAIGHTFORWARD and explains how Octarians are created.
There's some semi-aquatic and questionable sea creatures that don't really fit the "aquatic creature" niche that might still exist, like frogs or reptiles in general, which i DON'T think would fit at all as anthropomorphic. But this is more on a basis of thematic fitting and tropes from the game. If an animal is even a little bit terrestrial and not deliberately known to humans as something aquatic, it would probably be unchanged for the most part. Birds are a very good example of this as there's technically no reason they couldn't have evolved (before someone brings up the crystals and ocean pollution causing rapid evolution, those would've travelled up to the birds through the food chain) but it feels much more natural for them to still be animals.
The same in my head goes for something like crocodiles or turtles, which can be sea creatures, but they're not **really** sea creatures and I feel making them anthropomorphic wouldn't feel very Splatoon. Those are creatures you often seen anthropomorphized in general furry media, and Splatoon is a pretty specific type of setting where the creatures are largely unconventional and bizarre fully aquatic Things. This isn't related to the topic at all anymore and I don't know if it's just me, but it's how I feel about it. And for the record, if they did decide to include an anthro saltwater crocodile in a future game, i WOULD NOT COMPLAIN because crocodilians are my second favorite animals, but I WOULD think it's very odd. TL;DR i think crocodiles evolving to be a guy would be really strange because it's kinda on the same page as a Mallard or Swan having evolved. (They're both semi-aquatic vertebrates.)
(PARAGRAPH 5) Now the actual topic at hand. I COULD see colossal squid existing in Splatoon! if you read the rest of this ask it pretty much explains why at this point I think it's pretty rare for an animal to fall into the "definitely not" category. I imagine they would be much like you said in the ask, definitely NOTICEABLY larger than other inkfish, but waaaayyyy smaller proportionally than even their real-life counterparts. I made a post on a few squid sizes earlier this year and I can't be bothered to find it right now but I listed Giant Squid on that one and with them being in the same general size class, I imagine they would be very similar functionally too - not inkfish that could really participate in turf wars because they absolutely would not have the agility, but they would have ridiculous muscle mass and be able to wrangle pretty much anything with their tentacles.
Generally when it comes to Turf Wars, there's probably a very clear-cut upper size limit for different inkfish species when it comes to their abilities. Basically, the smaller an inkfish is the more agile it is, the faster it's able to move and change forms, and those are very important skills in ink battles, of course including lighter inkfish being able to climb walls very fast. On the other hand, the smaller an inkfish is the easier it is to splat. So where a smaller inkfish is typically more nimble, a large squid like a Humboldt squid can produce way more ink faster, cross more distance faster, scale terrain like it's nothing and most importantly take more hits before getting splatted. Realistically with a bunch of different species sizes smacked in a match together (and also realistically there'd be size brackets in some instances), there absolutely would not be a universal "3 Splattershot droplets splat you"-rule.
Where something like Giant squid and Colossal squid would fall on this scale? I don't think they could do Turf Wars at all, even if they on-average teetered somewhere around the 2,5 meter mark. I have to assume the bigger a squid is, the longer it takes them to change forms, and a giant inkfish taking 5 seconds to fully change forms if not more just doesn't really work in a fast-paced battle. They would probably very likely be way too heavy to Super Jump, especially giant squid with their TINY fins. Basically these deep-sea squid would be large and intimidating, but they're much slower paced than the average inkfish. I imagine they would also be pretty solitary by nature, generally speaking.
(And if we go out on a limb and assume *most* of Inkopolis and Splatsville is Inkling-scaled, like it tends to be in game, they would also not be a common sight in the city because they don't fit in any of the buildings. Seriously have you guys looked at the scale of the architecture? The "accessible" escalator to the train station in Inkopolis Plaza can fit like one Inkling at a time and I don't even think Marigold would fit on that.)

please give us the tea on the warrior cats ships!!!
I'll go first by saying Mothpool is overhyped and Leafpool had more chemestry with Cinderpelt. (in my opinion, ship what you like!)
:3c !!! Didn't think anybody would actually ask I am gonna gonna ramble now.. Separating this into pos and neg opinions
Positive:
I did think of leafcinder before and thought it was cute but not really something I'll get passionate about (i tend to be very picky on these kinda age gap/mentor x apprentice ships), now that I'm reminded of it I can really see it! They would have a great dynamic (taking tnp cinderpelt personality into account here. tbh her in tpb and her in tnp are almost different characters to me... where's your whimsy girl...), and honestly, there are almost endless options for Leafpool ships (she interacts with so many cats woagh that's crazy for this series she actually has friends??) that have more chemistry than crowpool. I mean it's fine I guess from a strictly plot perspective (and even that's well. bendable) but why is Leafpool, 30 cat years after their breakup, dead, in cat heaven, STILL deeply in love with cat Clay Puppington. I know they will get back together in StarClan because the authors absolutely love them and think they popped off writing their romance subplot they think they created a banger. Sorry this veered off into negative can't help being a hater.
hollyjaylion, leafsquirrel and bramblehawk are the three shipcest pairings I will never be able to be normal about. Canon to me. I say this as if I'm joking but I'm serious oughhh the goddamn dynamics. On a joking note though, graysky. there is no healthy nothing to see here just bro supporting his bro explanation for whatever the hell gray wing's problem was this entire arc
spottedtiger is cool it's interesting it's mindblowing it saves lives and it's haters are sooo silly I am sorry... "but spotted is his aunt according to the family tree!!!!" ok. and is this made relevant in the books at all? do they ever even acknowledge these two as kin. It's so pointless.. draw them making out
why's the fandom turning on darktiger suddenly now because they're still related (which is not even relevant or explicitly pointed out in the books and them being related was only decided way after both of their arcs together were done I. ughhhh.) wasn't this your favourite little henchman x fascist dictator toxic yaoi ship just a few years ago?? cowards. draw them making ou- ah wait that's just dark being obsessed with tiger, who on the other hand would RATHER NOT he wants that useless lickspittle OBLITERATED he doesn't CARE
ivyhawk good she could fix him. or he can make her worse. once again the fandom are major cowards for turning on it just like they did with darktiger, but much, much more aggresively so. like you people need to calm tf down just take deep breaths it's just a warrior cat ship...
people complaining about dovetiger's age gap (which are commonplace in the wc series tiger is not alone in dating apprentices) are so boring. they actually have the most wholesome dynamic in the current era/arcs I'd argue. they're in love and I love them. as a ship and both as characters.
fallenholly had the option to be one of THE best dubiously-canon wc pairings to come out of this series had they just went the direction of making fallen actually somewhat more messed up after being trapped as a ghost in the torment tunnels for cat centuries like. I remember someone else wording this really well earlier but I'm not really gonna search so just. Yeah. fallen leaves ships.
leopardtiger is hilarious I don't care. she thinks he's sooo correct and intelligent and truly the enlightened sigma worthy of the tigerclan podcast throne while also poisoning his food because he's fucking pissing her off in their side twitter dms and plotting his demise every night while he's snork mimimi'ing next to her in their kitty political marriage cuddle pile. ben shapiro x pragerU fucking ship I hope they kill each other
mudhawk... funny... seriously WHY is the fandom picking the most interesting goddamn ships to get pissed off at and call "problematic"??????? "age gap" THEY WERE BOTH ADULTS WHEN THEY MET WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU ON LET HAWK MANSPLAIN MANIPULATE MANFUCK THAT OLD MAN
I didn't read AVoS in it's entirety (and don't want to. it's... boring for the most part. I mean I love violet but is she enough to make me keep reading all that.) and don't remember if they even had any notable interactions but violetpuddle is very cute and my favourite (and, honestly, only) option for their ships. puddle's mother suckled violet but they don't consider each other "real" siblings just like how their mother doesn't consider violet as her daughter but try telling that to the fandom who can't distinguish between wet nurse arrangement, foster siblings and adopted siblings. Proud only resident of violetpuddle nation...... literally nobody else is here...
Negative: (gonna start censoring the cat/ship names now)
so correct moth.pool overhyped and their fans annoying. and also because I headcanon moth as aroace like there is not a single romantic thought in her body I cannot ever imagine her in a relationship moth don't care.
*takes a deep breath* mouse.fur is not aroace. tall.star, raven.paw and barley aren't gay. authorial statements made 10 years ago at some con ARE NOT CANON. IF IT'S NOT IN THE TEXT IT'S NOT CONFIRMED CANON. Also the latter examples also reek of biphobia lol. you can ship any of these characters with anyone forever, what is any of you people's problem.
long.fire, shadow.root, holly.cinder, bright.cloud, jay.kestrel are boring yaaawn I am falling asleep and do not see it. same with sandfire; these two did not have the groundbreaking dynamic (nor was sand that uh, well-rounded as character) you think they did you're just nostalgic. I actually prefer spottedfire and cinderfire over sandfire. anything over sandfire.
hawk.ash pisses me off because their shippers are always "hahahaha toxic yaoi sooo fucked up they make each other worse!!" but show them an actual toxic pairing and they immediately shit themselves and call you an abuse fetishizer. COWARDS you lot are COWARDS and this is why I cannot get behind hawk.ash at all like I associate them with the most annoying people so much I cannot sorry. I'm sure it's a cool ship or whatever
I actually got tired and now am too sleepy to articulate myself properly anymore but still here are the other ships that I either dislike or just plain out hate seeing: fern.ivy, alder.needle, crow.squirrel, bristle.root, bramble.squirrel (but that's a very popular one lol), lion.cinder.
thanks for the ask! :3

The EagleOwl Swap Part 4A :House of Hades Au Part 1
Don't worry y'all, I'm alive, I was just busy with school :( I have like three projects due on Friday, but I'm done with them so time to continue the swap. Also My Au has veered off course since Mark Of Athena, so beware.
So, Nico tells them two bad news. 1) Apparently the romans have covered a lot of ground, and are now really near the CHB borders, and there is some sort of army gathering near the outskirts of the camp, with all the monsters getting killed getting reformed very quickly thanks to the doors of death being opened. 2)To close the doors of death, someone has to close it from the other side, which was a system implemented after Gaia's enemies (demigods and satyrs) started coming back from the dead as well.
Also Nico wasn't trapped by Gaia in this timeline, and Nico is healing from the trauma that was the Titan's curse better than original, so he has a much more healthier mental state, especially after coming out to Will and some campers at CHB and them be extremely understanding. In fact, it was kinda reminiscent of him pre- Bianca's death. Nico needs a break, y'all. Cue adorable reunion between Nico and Annabeth.
"By the way, there was this giant gaining on you, so I sorta fought it. Didn't work though, so I distracted it with this bomb the Hephaestus cabin made" "Wait that was you?" Anyway since they sorta figured out why Percy left, they decided to press the advantage and head towards the doors of death, much to Annabeth and Nico, who just found out Percy's state, chargin
So they have to split up; Frank, Piper , Jason would be sent to reason with the romans, carrying the Athena Parthenous with them Nico tailing them, or stall them at the least, the others to head out to the doors of death, while Leo, Hazel, Annabeth and Reyna head to the doors of death to try to close them.
Hazel gets to shine in this one, because she tackles with the new lease of life she just gained, and she hasn't given it much thought with Frank around, but now she's giving it some serious thought and she does not know what to do with it. And she at first decides not to give too much thought to it because why would she need to, she's probably going to die in this quest, but after she almost dies during the many battles they face while getting to the doors of death, she realises that she's really scared of death and start actually considering what she gonna do in life. Her arc's pretty much knowing that it's fine not knowing what to do in life, but as long as you have your loved ones at your side supporting you every way, it doesn't really matter, for life is sea of possibilities, and it's a way better life than what she would have gotten in the 1940s.
Meanwhile, while Frank, Piper, Jason, meet Eros and boom, Nico get's outed. Very horribly. Of course, Piper and Nico have a bonding moment after that, while Jason completely eversicates Eros, and they become part of Nico's protection squad. Nico jokes that they have to check in with the president, who's Percy, and the mood falls after that. The vetereans from CHB tend to rave about Percy a lot, but Jason, Piper and Frank just don't get it. So Nico starts giving them little tidbit during the Second Titan War Era. (This will be plot relevant later on)
Meanwhile, back on the Argo 2, they crash-land, thanks to Clytius, Hectate's opposite. They do a little bit of monologuing, before they bring out the big guns- Percy. Hazel and Leo is on fighting Clytius duty, Annabeth and Reyna are on fighting Percy Duty. Percy starts pointing out all the insecurities Annabeth has, "forgotten child of Athena' because Gaia told him to do so, but Reyna point out all the good parts of Annabeth, cause ya she's still mad at her, for the whole Circe Island debcale, but she's slowly forgiving her (Percy, not so much)
Percy manages to knock out Reyna, but then Annabeth starts pleading with him, "Please Percy, you can fight it, I know I can" and he seems to fight it a bit but then Gaia comes swooping in and destroys all the effort Annabeth made. Damn.
Thankfully, before Percy kills Annabeth and Reyna, Leo starts raining the entire artillery of the Argo 2, and while Percy's distracted by that, Annabeth, Reyna, Leo and Hazel, who has temporarily subdued Clythius, rush towards the doors of death. Percy manged to survive that show of gunfire because he has the heel of achilles, which in this timeline still hasn't been taken away yet.
Piper, Frank, Jason and Nico reach the roman battalions nearing outskirts of New York around dusk, showing the Athena Parthenous to themcarried by a roman demigod of war and the greek demigod of love, as a sign of peace. Then they start talks with the romans, making connections with them and how the greeks fought bravely during the Titan War, while they fought at Mount Othrys. The romans start doubting their stance against the greeks, and Nico's chiming in, the guy that pops up to the roman camp from time to time, which Frank,( a newbie), Piper (barely stepped foot at the roman camp) and Jason (lost his memories) look surprised at. Octavian though manipulates the crowd for hating on Jason, saying he abadoned them and whatnot, and the peace talks are broken. However, most romans are not dead set on killing the greeks anymore, so while they won't make peace with them, they opt to not engage them for now. Octavian seethes at that, by realising he can't change anything about that, resolves to try to motivate the romans to attack the greeks tmr.
Leo calls up the Argo 2 gang at CHB, telling them they need backup, but since the solstice is nearing in like two weeks and they haven't made peace with the romans, they decided to send only Jason there. Nico decides to join him as well, so off they go on the storm pegasi.
Why did they need reenforcements? Well because guarding the temple where the doors of death is are a bunch of monsters, and they just finished their battle with Clythius and Percy sooo they decided to make camp for the night while they wait for Jason and Nico to come. Of course, halfway through their waiting time, Dionysus shows up, saying something about making their reenforcement get a speed boost and mention that the only way to break the very strong enchantments on Percy, and clear atleast one of their obstacles, is to go back to Circe Island, which Reyna visbly groans at. Annabeth's curious, but before she can prod further, some monsters spot them, Dionysus peaces out of there and they start fighting against the mosnters.
Also meanwhile we jump to Nico complaining about the horse travelling too fast thank to Mr D, and we actually have a bonding moment where Jason helps Nico get over his fear of fallinng off the horse, and never really fitting in.
Just when Leo's about to die, Jason and Nico show up and they finally enter the temple. Hazel vs Clythius showdown, with Hectate helping Hazel to kill him. Meanwhile, the doors of death are still open, so the monsters are still arriving by the horde, and Percy's here as well.
Nico, Reyna and Jason fighting Percy, while Annabeth, Leo and Hazel are left to deal with the monsters. Realising they have to close the doors on the other side soon, or they will die due to the sheer numbers of monsters getting revived, Jason makes the sacrifice to enter the house of hades and close it from the inside. Of course everyone, especially Reyna and Leo, who know him the most, object. Nico, doesn't want to lose a brother so quickly after just getting to know him while Annabeth doesn't want to lose Jason who she's sees as a little brother. Jason giving a bittersweet smile as he walks into the elevator, and the doors shut on him. They start killing out the monsters, and it looks like Jason suceedded, in living long enough to close the doors on Tartarus Side, because no more monsters coming, but Nico and Hazel feel his death soon after, and after hearing that we get a very heartwrenching moment with Leo crying, screaming, and promising revenge on Gaia
There's a word limit I'm about to reach, so i guess we will be extending the HOH Au to a part 2 then.

A short post on Champion.
Random Thought Before I Begin:
I'm currently watching a judiciary audience of a Very Bad Man. You don't need to know his name, unless you're from Colombia, and if you are, well then you know whom I'm referring to.
I haven't watched this audiences in a very long time. I used to, when it was my job, when I knew knowing this was necessary and I endure it. When it wasn't, I realized I felt too much and I just couldn't anymore. Maybe because I took so much distance (and dissasociation) that I can now watch this audience, and I actually told my sister I thought this man, who had done so much harm and pain, knowingly so, seems...very nice. It's kinda like what Hannah Arendt wrote about the Eichmann trial many years ago- she felt sorry for him because he was just a sad, little, scared man standing trial. This man however doesn't look sad or scared, he just looks like someone who's doing something bureacratic. But what he's saying is not bureacratic, it's relevant to hundreds of people who know this man is a monster- my sister said "above all, he's human", and I want to point out here how dissonant it is when we acknowledge the humanity of someone who took it away from so many people. Whose legacy is cruelty, violence, pain, evil.
Something to think about.
On "Champion. An opera in jazz". Champion is an opera by terence blanchard and michael griffith. It is the second balck opera ever presented in the MET history and blanchard's second work with the Met. I saw it a few weeks after its premiere in NYC, because one big movie company in Colombia has this streaming rights for the entire Met opera season and I finally have the money to afford to go to almost all the season. I didn't know this opera would happen because I'm not an expert in Opera, I just go because this is the best way to learn about classical music and performers and so on. This is why I was so blown away when I went to the first operas of the season and I saw a latina woman performing a leading role, with 30% of the cast that was black and asian. Black and asian people! On a stage! Performing the whitest of the arts! And like I have pointed out many times, I am almost always the only POC person in the audience, and even though I know I'm not the only one who understands the importance of seeing POC performing opera, it will never get old to sit down and see a damn opera where POC are actually performing.
And Champion is actually more than just a representation checklist opera. It's not just that the cast is 99% black, with drag queens and gay issues as part of the plot; or that the conductor is a queer person who not only loves classical music, but has fun and makes fun of it. It's also that behind the scenes POC had active roles and that the day of the premiere and the shows after this, POC have shown up, again and again, to support this opera, not because it's a black opera, but because it's really damn good.
I went that saturday knowing that the movie theater was going to be a bit empty, and it was. I had the entire row for me. I was the only brown person in that room- something that, I think, it doesn't mean much, unless something happens that reminds me that I am a brown person who has the means to afford tickets to opera and no one in that movie room questions why I'm there because they know I have the means to be there. It is not mind boggling. It's the reality of the privilege of being brown in this country and not fitting the racist notions people have about brown and black people in Colombia.
And so I sat, alone in a row, and the opera started and from scene 1 my heart did jumps and hoops and I thought well this was to be expected because I'm a sensible blob and I always feel everything too much. But when the final scene came, and the entire black cast came out, and the clapping began and everyone was kinda leaving the room, I just sat there and sobbed. Because in all my years watching opera, and going to white spaces knowing I wasn't white, I had never experience why representation matters, not at this level anyway. And even if this representation may fall short or be perceived as performative, to me it isn't. Champion made me cry because when I was growing up, in the 90's, I didn't had this. My dad used to play classical music where all composers and performers where white and european, and he only listened to this when he needed to focus or wanted to work. I never knew black and brown people could make, play and/or perform classical music. My only reference that wasn't white was....Bugs Bunny. So seeing this opera meant so much to me. And I left that theater crying my heart out because I am also wrapping up the document where I write about black representation in colombian art, knowing that this is jus the beginning for I am going to do in terms of not bringing a seat at the table, but to flip the table and see what happens.
black people really are stars.

Excuse me this little discussion about what's on my mind. It is relevant to my blog but it's also personal. No content warnings needed. (skip to "long story short" if you want the tldr)
So ever since I started college in January, my ability to be creative went like 📉. Now I get by on basically the bare minimum which is the rare RP or rambled discussion about SIs, plots or developments (mostly in private). This has shown on my blog. I made hardly any meaningful posts about my ships, SIs or F/Os, aside from small stuff like how I wanna snuggle or lil tag rambles about how pretty they are. These are fine, wonderful in fact, but they don't really do much for me. They don't make me feel happy or satisfied.
I've kinda just been feeding off these tidbits for months and months. Heck, there was even a time where I didnt even talk in the tags (really out of character). Due to this I've essentially lost all the spark and passion I had for self shipping. Which is strange because my feelings for my f/os remain as strong as they have always been.
The lack of this spark has made me feel like I should just pack in my blog and move on. And yes, I did try that. But that only made me depressed. It clearly wasn't the answer. So I kinda sat with this "I wanna be here but idk what I'm doing here" feeling for a long time since.
Coupled with this is the feeling that I need to create ship content. I should be writing fics. I should be making moodboards. I should be posting detailed lore/themes/ideas/plots about my ships. I should be making time for my f/os even though I'm exhausted.
I've cried about it actually. It's so frustrating because I know I don't have to make those things to properly love my f/os, but the fact is I really want to make that kind of content. I want to do all those things and more. Yet I've struggled with the fact that I can't because after college and assignments, and social/family time and adult responsibilities, I have basically no energy left. Especially since I'm disabled too and that's a whole ton of energy expended trying to maintain my additional needs too. The only "spare" time I've really had for self shipping is either during self-care moments or right before I go to sleep or get up in the morning. It sucks.
(especially since my f/os help me cope)
I thought I was okay with this. Like it was some small thing that sucked but I could learn to live with. But something changed. I made that stardew profile. It was the first time in a really, really long time where I actually made something purely for myself. And God it felt good. It made me realise how important making things is for me. I need to create to be happy. It's not something I can really go without. I mean I can, but I'll be fucking miserable.
After that I had the spark again. The desire to create and share. I've been coming up with all kinds of stuff that I'd stopped thinking about. Like yesterday in the shower I made up this whole angel themed magical girl purely for fun. Then I wanted to draw her but I didn't have time. I was okay with that though because I had created her anyway and it was fun. I had stopped doing things for fun. I had fallen into the capitalist mindset of productivity. But no more.
Long story short, I really want to create again. I don't have the time or the energy I used to have, so I need to adapt to that. Make smaller but no less special things. Talk about the stuff I usually think isn't worth talking about, like my idea for that stardew character. Maybe I go nowhere with it or nobody cares for it, but at least I have fun.
On top of this I'm also trying to figure out if I actually want to continue academics into University (sociology) or dedicate my life to what I always valued most, art (creative writing degree). Creative writing was my original plan but I thought doing it for a career or studies would sap the passion out of it. Instead I learnt that not being creative saps the passion out of me.

(INSANELY BIG SPOILERS FOR MY FIC
so they'll be under the cut
I warned you!)
... Guess who!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(takes place somewhere around the 2/4th of Book 2 - How A Cat Tamed A Wolf)
.... If you got it right, and I believe you have, here comes the big explanation. And MORE SPOILERS .
Brace yourselves.
So, at the very beginning, a year and a half ago, when I was just getting fresh ideas for the story, this kinda just slipped through.
Why? Because, sadly, most of my OCs fall in love with the main male protagonist of the story, and I never even tried to stop this.
Yes, it's sappy, it's cringe-y and well overused in any fandom - yet I'm still a sucker for those plots.
However, being a Love Square shipper, this brought troubles to the table I haven't been able to sort out to this day.
Reminds me kinda of my days in the Kingdom Hearts fandom, where I shipped Sora and Kairi but added my own OC to the story. However, I managed to work things out there without touching the canon OTP, and they never went beyond friendship. However, HERE, I didn't even think of going down that road.
Don't get me wrong - Luna/Amani wasn't supposed to fall in love with Chat Noir right from the start. It took well over a year for her, as well as his best efforts to break the walls she had unknowingly put up between herself and every other living being.
However, one thing I wasn't gonna do with Amani was use the typical 'she was scarred by love/other people before and has closed up because of that' trope. I wanted to try something new.
Amani is not your typical girl. She's okay with physical closeness but has experienced affection like 10 times less than Adrien - emotional counted. So the Cat had a lot of groundwork laid out for him in order to reach her - and we know Adrien just loves getting in people's personal space as much as it's possible. However, he ended up doing it a little too much with Amani.
And here comes the problem: by then, Luna/Amani learned both his and Ladybug's identities, and has been keeping them secret from the two as best as she could. But because she knows who they are, she knows how much they're already meant for each other. And now que the gifs I set above.
She's trying to keep her emotions under check, but is failing fast after she realizes she has them. And to make matters worse - we know how much Ladybug has been turning down Chat, and Adrien didn't get the hots for Marinette yet, as this was a fic I was making during Season 4 and the story will probably still be most relevant to it.
So - you have a confused Cat who just wants a good relationship, a lovestruck Wolf - and a little Bug who has no idea what is happening behind her back while she's still pining after her Perfect Prince Charming.
... I still haven't worked out the kinks, nor do I know how I will. Mostly, I let the story write itself, but it didn't get me anywhere (during the time I was actually able to write without hating the canon...); I am now torn between the two ships.
However - for all this time.... I never saw Adrien getting anywhere with Amani - mostly because she wouldn't let him. And to be fair - we all know he has a special spot in his heart for his Lady that only another equally special girl could take and, well.... I don't think Amani is that girl.
But don't you worry - I have so much planned for these two that his episode with Kagami is going to be very short in comparison and probably completely forgotten at the end. (Then again.... the canon might beat me to it and kill me before I manage to write anything... :') )
... Wish both me and my girl some luck! 🍀🤞😂 We're gonna need all of it for the roller-coaster ride that's ahead of us.

Hello, hello, Dreams~! I hope you're having a lovely Wednesday thus far. So, I'm curious, I know you've been playing with different things for your writing process for awhile now, and I was wondering how your world building method has evolved since you started experimenting with different methods? What kinds of methods have you tried for world building? What does your world building process look like from start to finish?
That's a very interesting question, Ren🤔
I'm not the biggest fan of worldbuilding for some reason. I like to focus on the characters, and a very small cast to that, on dynamics and arcs and hurt/comfort moments and the drama and fluff. So worldbuilding has for a long time been a background thing for me to solve when the story needs it, if it needs at all.
Then aspects started to appear that I liked to think about even if they weren't directly connected to the plot of the story. Magic for instance. Culture. Culture clash. Habits and what's ordinary and how the extraordinary would be treated. Mindsets that came with magic. The political system, power hierarchy or its everyday implications. Had a phase with dystopias and apocalypses to imagine what new order would come out of chaos.
Then I started to be really drawn to political intrigue and power relationships. Stuff like gangs, mafia, court intrigue, enemies to friends when the cultures and value systems were at play. How different magics or people with different systems and habits and strenght could react and clash and come together.
I have not yet found a fitting story to realize all of these fascinations. Only AUs. The 5th Magic x Tears of Iron AU esp set in a world where magic types make up different countries with all together different systems is def fascinating realization of this. Plus the thing with peace efforts and representational rings, and hybridity...maybe I should really write that sometime.😂
I'm also drawn to all these Enemy kings and Gangs and War AUs, so it comes up in those ways as well. But I have decided for a slice of life fantasy focused on everyday little moments of special magical people with a tight hurt/comfort arc I want to explore with relevant themes, and there just unfortunately isn't any space for politics in there. I think. Maybe if the world wasn't just like ours after all and each country felt like a different world, with different stages of recovery after an apocalypse or war that really took place...that would give me some leave to work with different countries, systems and relationships.
But then again, my worldbuilding process mostly had two forms. One, I worked out the worldbuilding in detail in my notes, way before I started writing and then I lost interest with the story and reading the notes and that eas the end.
Or I wrote up just the magic and the most important details, like I have now, but they feel sometimes too much like limitations. I love magic and playing with types and rules and costs, but when I focus more on what's logical and realistic for the world I lose connection to what's fun and exciting and immediately relevant for the story. I think that's an issue thats blocking me right now. The magic finally makes sense, but it also feels like a drag and like I don't want to think about it, which ehhh is not a good thing for the story at all. I think I will have to add some big rewinds and changes for the excitement to return again.
Or maybe going more with a soft magic system, without hard fact rules but with every country and whatnot having a different take. Who knows. I'm especially frustrated with mind magic right now, cause I wanted it to be a parallel for how writing feels, the imagination, projection of dreams, studying the person beforehand to know what dreams will be calming and helpful, analysing the additions of said person,...and to underline how important the power of mind is. But I can't really imagine good use for that kind of stuff as official job? And it seems kinda weak? I really want to give the MC something more powerful and threatening and physical right now. XD
Also magic that has more brutal painful costs would be fun, but I'm not sure how to explain why people would be using it then. XD
Well, it was fun putting it all into out into words at least. A brainstorming sessions about frustrations and wishes. I started a lot of books last two weeks to get new inspiration, and maybe it's the current interests there that make my story sound bland to me right now and it will go away with the book ending. Or maybe not. Does a book every make you feel like that? XD
Anyway, thanks for the question :D

For the Echoes thing: 1, 3, 5, 7, 14, 22, 35
THANK YOU FOR ASKING 💖💖
1. I generally think Celica is more interesting and she's more different in terms of FE Lords. So in a vacuum probably Celica. But I'm such an Alm's Side fan that Alm generally comes out on top. I'm too invested in the Ram Village Group to leave him out. So probably Alm.
3. This is such a lame answer but Atlas. He's kinda like Tobin and so I was like yeah that's my guy. Celica is my other favorite, as well as Valbar's trio. They're fun.
5. This is hard! I think most of the good parts get praised a lot. I think the base conversations are a really nice thing and idk how much they're talked about as a mechanic. I think it's great to have character development tied to the timeline in the story. I think it could return separate to supports, it's nice to get a view of how the characters feel about what's going on right now and helps tie non-plot-relevant characters to the plot.
7. Other than the characters definitely the overall plot/theme about the gods. Sometimes I just think about how cool it was that the Valentia gods had physical form and are just kind of around. And then they die and humanity has to learn to live on their own. It's so poignant and interesting. And when they have to CHOOSE if they're going to kill the god. That's so crazy. And Tobin isn't sure if his family will survive. I think it's one of the most interesting FE plot points. I like it so much better than Evil Dragon God. The gods felt human and there were stakes and consequences for what happened to them. Friendship is stronger than the power of the gods not because it can take down a dragon but because your friends will help you when no greater power can!!!!!
14. Thank you for asking this specifically <3. FE4 is probably (hopefully) coming but my choice if I could have anything would be some kind of 4+5 dual release. I think Thracia's characters need the Echoes treatment more. Most of the Genealogy cast is iconic and memorable with strong personalities, and the in-game conversations make the lack of supports bother me less. But FE5 1. Has such fun levels and 2. Has so many characters who have very little to them. And I'd love to return to those guys and come to love them with the added depth. Like Carrion is cool and I like him and I used him for a few levels, but you could do so much with his dedication to Leonster. He could be so much more. And that applies to a lot of the cast. I want to see their relationships fleshed out too. I have many thoughts on what I would do for a Shadows of Thracia lol
22. I think Celica's route as a whole and especially Conrad's subplot could have been a lot better. Conrad should be a BIG DEAL but he just kind of isn't? Also I think the pacing in the early game is kind of slow. There's a lot of dialogue for levels that weren't built to have story, you know? In Gaiden there wasn't a dialogue there so sometimes it makes the story drag when we add it to explain the current battle when nothing important is really happening.
35. Please IntSys any Tobin at all I'm begging you. On my knees. Crying. I have 1500 orbs I refuse to spend before him what more do you want from me. I think Valentine's would be cute but the chance has passed since we had Valentia Valentines. Summer no. Christmas no. Pirate? 👀. But actually I want one of the ones where it's clearly Post-Game Tobin. I want to see him after he's come in to his own and accepted who he is and what his role is. I want to see his arc completed and have him say some nice things looking back on the game. And I want him to have a cool outfit.

Mod: If I may ask... What do you think of Frontier? Not sure if you played it or watched a walktrough or you decided to wait
WOO! Okay! I did play Sonic Frontiers, played it every time I had a moment for the past three/four days, and knocked it out last night. I have thoughts, and there are spoilers in them, so there's the read more below! Read on at your own peril!
TL;DR: Good change in direction, enjoyable game. Story has potential, but it's rushed. Sanded-down character interactions and lack of polish hold it back from being a homerun. Open world is extremely rewarding, but they don't always trust the player to pay attention to their surroundings or figure things out, so prepare to get repeated interruptions while exploring. Combat is easy, but feels satisfying to learn and play. If you're a Sonic fan and like open world games, pick it up. If you're not, wait for a sale.
(This is gonna be long. I used your ask as an excuse to ramble. Sorry!)
STORY
I mentioned in a previous post that this feels the most sincere that Sonic has been in a while—no memes, no forced quips, no ribbing the audience about how much they know how silly the concept of Sonic is. This, to me, feels like the beginning of a new direction for the games' tone (and if Evan Stanley's updates are anything to go by, I'm pretty sure I'm on point). Sincerity goes a long way for me even if the story is rough--I never thought that SA and SA2's stories were particularly good, but I love them because at the time, the affection and passion the creators had for their series was palpable. They thought Sonic was cool, and they wanted us to think Sonic was cool. Frontiers brought that back. It treats itself like it matters and I really like that. I felt emotional at more than one point during the game. I like how this felt like an epic; Sonic, to me, is a superhero story, and like classic superhero stories, its hopeful, confident, and big. This is the direction they took, and I like it.
But moment to moment, the word I would use is "rushed". For one, I feel like the characters don't get enough room to play off each other and show their wonderful personalities. We start a scene, they talk mostly about the plot for a bit, maybe make one small character-relevant joke, character beat or lore reference, and then shove along before the player gets bored. This is a shame; I wanted this to be the game I would point people to if I wanted to sell newcomers on these characters, but the lack of chemistry mixed with the more subtle portrayals leaves them all feeling kinda... watered down. Not terrible, definitely functional, but faint. Seriously; I wanted Knuckles and Sonic to rib each other a little more! I wanted Sonic to try to uplift Tails (I saw what you were trying to do, writers; do more of it! We can learn about the ruins later!)! I miss the more openly upbeat Amy! The bones are there. What happened?
Now, as for Sage; this is pretty on-brand for a Sonic story. The writers introduce a new character, a "heart" that, through their interactions with Sonic and co., start to change for the better throughout the story. In SA1, it was a spread around the cast for almost everyone who wasn't Sonic. In SA2, it was Shadow. In the story series, it was Shahra and Merlina. In this one, it's Sage. And I like the idea so much; I like not only the thread of this character, but her dynamic with Eggman. It's a side of him we don't see in the games. Which is why it was such a huge mistake to relegate most of it to optional memos acquired through an optional mini-game of all things. We absolutely needed to see these onscreen. Again, what happened, guys?
Saved the most... okay for last, I guess! I like the plot. Ancients are cool and interesting. Giving them a connection to Chaos was a good idea. I'd like more opportunities to care about them on a personal level. Again, they tried, but it's really rushed, so it didn't really happen for me. It's not that I was apathetic; it was functional! Just not punchy.
GAMEPLAY It's a video game, so even if the story was Shakespearian, the gameplay needs to be good. It was! I enjoyed it! The biggest problem is their lack of trust in the player's learning curve and their unwillingness to abandon the mechanics they picked up after 06.
It's a little over-tutorialized; instead of easing you into the mechanics in a natural and pleasing way, they slap you with a dozen dialogue boxes and pop-ups instead. I imagine a game where they tell the story and teach you the game at the same time a la BoTW, and I wish that was what we got.
The 2D sections in the open world should not have been there at all. Chaos Island was so painful in particular for me because every couple feet I'm enjoying running full-pelt through the wilderness only to get clotheslined by the 2.5 bat. Every time you make a classic Sonic fan play a 3D section, they're annoyed. Every time a 3D fan like me has to play a 2D section, I'm annoyed. Separate the gameplay styles! Free us all. We can play 2D Sonic later!
Speaking of that, why, oh why do they stop you to introduce the monsters literally every single time you run by them?! Can you imagine playing Breath of the Wild and getting interrupted while galloping around so they could play a cutscene with a big ugly title card reading 'LEGLESS GUARDIAN' every single time you find one?! Stop! Stop it! Let me be Sonic!
The action stages, which were the strength of the SA duo, Unleashed, Generations, etc. are unfortunately the weakest part; every time I had to go into one, I wanted it to be over. This Sonic is not mechanically built for these; he feels stiff here, when he feels great in the open world. I would've liked them to put the time they put into the former into refining the latter.
BUT--the open world. Oh, the open world is such a joy to move around in that I can still say this was a win. Being able to sprint full speed up and down hills wherever I wanted is the Sonic experience I've been dreaming of since I was five. I'm blasting alongside walls and ripping through the desert! Openly laughing as I blaze by enemies I know can't catch me! I felt like Sonic, and that was huge.
The combat does a great job with this, too; Sonic fights by overwhelming his opponents with lightning fast strikes. One of his attacks is literally running circles around them! That's incredibly cool and a really good design choice.
Boss fights are fun! I liked the open world bosses more than the end-stage bosses, but both were fun. A good cap on the new game style they're going for.
Aaand... that's it! That's all I got off the top of my head, good and bad, after my first playthrough. Overall, this feels like a game with the means, but not the time. If this does well enough, I'm hoping the next game will lean harder into this game's strengths. I'm happy to have this as the latest installment; I don't regret buying this, and if you're a Sonic fan, chances are good that you won't either.

Little Witch academia theories
Since now there's the possibility of an upcoming Lwa season I thought it was the perfect time to share this theory I've had for a long time, along with what I think the upcoming season could be about, possible episode ideas and… maybe future villains. And as I’m rewatching this show , I developed this theory that I had for a long time and even came up with ideas for the new season and what it could be about.Let's speculate!!
My main theory is about Croix Meridies and how she could possibly be related to the Hanbridge family.
This might be me over analysing things, but after seeing someone on Tumblr point out to how similar Andrew and Croix's eyes are, I believe they are connected in some way, but the creators didn't have time to develop on that. Especially in how in ep 24, there was put a strong emphasis on both of their eyes. In a scene that was supposed to parallel their reactions.Especially in a show like Lwa, where all the important characters have unique eye shapes that match their personality, having two important characters have the same eye shape and the same eye color raises some questions.
And this is not the only evidence I have to Croix being related to the Hanbridge family. In episode 19, Andrew even states that him and Diana are sort of related. And now on to the Paul Hanbridge part, it would be weird for a man who claims to dislike magic so much to be related to witches. So, what if his wife was a witch, because I think there's a reason we never saw Andrew's mother, and even though we don't see all of the characters parents and flashback moments in this show, Andrew's backstory seems to be pretty important and his father is always present throughout the story.
And for a father that is so strict it raises some questions that his mother is absent. So what if his mother is… dead, and what if her death had to do something with witchcraft, possibly being a reason why Paul hates witchcraft and forced his son to have the same opinions , thinking magic is a dead practice, and his hatred seems too personal to be political in the first place.
Another interesting factor is how Paul's hatred for witches seems to be different from Blackwell's hatred for witches. Whereas Paul's reasons are more justified since he hates the art, not the artist and thinks magic and witches are outdated and have no place in the modern age, Blackwell holds this opinion out of pure bigotry.
And as much as he hates witches, Paul still tries to keep a good relation with them, even if trying to "keep his enemies in debt"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
as he says in ep 6 and he seems to have had a good relation with witches and Luna Nova for a long time. So something must have happened along the way for him to hate witches and that something may involve… his wife. What if witches or witchcraft were involved in his wife's death.
And this gets us to the important part of the theory, Croix and how she could possibly be Paul's daughter. What if Andrew isn't the only child Paul has, and this theory is plausible since Croix is around 28 years old,(she graduated in 2007, the anime takes place somewhere around 2017)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
and Paul seems to be around his middle or late 50s, basically old enough to be her father. Another piece of evidence I have to that is how there not anything known about Croix's past before she joined Luna Nova, and despite her achievements and the fact that she was described as a "magic prodigy" she was also described as timid and reserved during high-school days, and back then she wasn't as confident and over the top villainous as she is today, her stance being much more distant and reserved, compared to Chariot, who was much more extroverted, even a bit of a show of, always surrounded by people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She seemed as if she was hiding from something… or someone. What if Croix ran away from home in order to pursue witchcraft, since Paul could have been just as strict about witchcraft to her as he is to Andrew.
And it would make Andrew and Paul's connection to the Chariot and Croix storyline deeper and better, since even the magic shop owner was more relevant to the plot than those two at this point, and they acted as spectators in the second half of the story. Another interesting factor is how Paul constantly says that magic is dead ,obsolete and not necessarily in modern times, while Croix's main motivation is to prove that this exact thing is wrong and that magic is still useful by fusing it with science. And think about it for a second, the damage Croix's monsters did, how Croix fueling the protests for her experiments almost sparked into ww3, all of these things affect the government, which Paul is a part of. Her villain plan might have also been a revenge plan at her father, for being an awful parental figure.
On top of that, neither Andrew or Paul ever directly interacted with Croix or even saw her, and all of the important characters saw Croix and interacted with her, except those two. And at the end of episode 25, right after Croix was arrested and left the scene, Andrew appeared, almost as if the creators didn't want the two characters to interact just yet.
And knowing that Andrew and Diana are cousins, this would also make Croix be part of the Cavendish family, Meridies being possibly a fake name she took to distance herself from both of the well known powerful families. Andrew and Diana often parallel each other in the show, and Croix and her relationship to Chariot is also supposed to be a foil to Akko and her relationship with Diana. Therefore Andrew and Croix were supposed to be a foil to each other, Croix kind of showing Andrew what can happen if he quietly held a grudge against his father and not standing up to him at the right time for two long until he eventually could snap and do the same thing as Croix. Her story of being misunderstood, missguided, filled with jealousy could serve as a cautionary tail.
And Croix being Paul’s daughter would also make sense given her overambitious personality and her constant need of validation from others , including Profesor Woodward and desire to be on top.All of these factors could have easily shaped her into the sort of person that despite having good intentions doesn't have the best ways of achieving them , often putting others in danger to do so.Her being Paul’s daughter would also make sense of why she is jealous of Chariot , since Chariot not only has the shiny rod , but also support from others and appreciation .
A reason my theory could work is how Andrew was originally supposed to be Akko’s love interest , but the creator of the show , Yoh Yoshinari scrapped that sconcept at the request of staff and voice actor , he ended up making Akko a “girl who’s not interested in boys” , so Andrew needed a new purpose in the story , and maybe him discovering Croix is his sister and potentially also becoming a wizard could be those purposes , since they already been kinda set up.
But this theory also raises some questions .How did Andrew’s mother die?Is Andrew a wizard?Did he know he had an older sister? These could be interesting themes to explore in the potential upcoming season .Other things that would be cool to see in this potential season what happened after the missile, Croix redemption arc, my theory becoming cannon and Croix and Chariot having to deal with the mistakes they made, how Akko feels about all of these, and more stuff with the nine new witches, are they considered like superheroes, are they famous now??
Now , onto what the upcoming season could potentially be about :
- As I stated in my theory , Croix and Andrew having to deal with the fact that they are siblings
-Croix redemption arc , maybe more development with her relationship with Ursula/Chariot
-Maybe another episode focused on nightfall , maybe Akko using a spell to make the Nightfall characters real for Lotte’s birthday.
-More flashbacks about Chariot and Croix’s years as Luna Nova students
-Lore behind the golden age of magic and the nine new witches
-New villains
-Return of the shiny rod , but in a unique way
-Maybe the stories could deal with Arthurian Mythos via Appleton Academy
-Male Wizards , maybe more episodes with Andrew and Frank
-More action scenes and serious moments
-The preparation for the spring festival mentioned at the end of episode 25
-More references to other pieces of media (maybe more kingsman , marvel and star wars references as well…)
I should go in depth with some of these aspects :
1.For example , even after episode 25 showed everyone cheering for the 7 witches, they were happy and cheering because otherwise the missile would have killed everyone. They now are happy that they are saved by the witches , and possibly entering a new age of magic , but what if somehow , it is discover that it was because of Croix’s magic that the missile attack almost happened in the first place. How would they react knowing a single witch was capable of such a feast.Especially how would the politicians react.Because at the end of episode 25,Paul was willing to learn more about Andrew’s opinions about witchcraft and even be open to it .But maybe after he finds out the truth about the missile attack, his hatred for witchcraft is even more reinforced , maybe ruining all the progress Andrew has been trying to make in teaching his father about magic ,for him to hate it even more now.Maybe it would even push him to become a villain in the show.
2.Another idea for a villain in the upcoming season I theorize about is Daryl , Diana’s aunt , even though she was kinda redeemed by the end of the season , she is a strange figure , possibly using dark magic , maybe after Diana became head of the Cavendish family , Daryl does not agree with some of Diana’s ways of improving the Cavendish family title and returns to villany , maybe serving as a possible introduction to dark magic (Like she literally can go through walls and has a snake as a pet AND HER EYES GLOW RED)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3.After rewatching episode 17 (Amanda O’Neill and the holy grail) I came up with this silly idea for a plotline , what if that episode wasn't just about an epic fight scene and showing us Croix’s first experiment test , but set up something even more interesting.Even if the title of the episode is a reference to “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” , in the Arturian legend of the holy grail it is Galahad the knight who is chosen to find the Holy Grail. Galahad, in both the Lancelot-Grail cycle and in Malory's retelling, is exalted above all the other knights: he is the one worthy enough to have the Holy Grail revealed to him and to be taken into Heaven , so Galahad is the one to have found the holy grail. And for a first test , Croix’s monster worked quite well , and we also know in Lwa , spirits and ghosts exist and they tend to attach themselves to objects. And if Croix’s pixels were in the grail before Louis broke it , why didn't they start working yet.My theory is that Galahad’s ghost was attached to the Holy Grail and the cubes only powered the ghost up , making it able to separate form the grail ,but decided to stay still until Louis broke the grail , pissing the ghost of Galahad off and thus punishing Louis by possessing a nearby knight armor along with Blackwell himself, combining both into a violent berserker. After Amanda destroyed the armor she could’ve weakened the ghost of Galahad , thus everything instantly went back to normal , but what if the ghost started regaining strength , adjusting to life not being attached to the grail , but planning to stroke again , to punish Louis and the other students of Appleton for ruining the reputation of the school with their hatred for witches .Appleton academy could possibly have lore connected to Arthurian legend to it , with how much they hold the importance of tradition , duels , and gentleman like behaviour , almost knight-like.Maybe the next season could have a plotline that involves stopping the Ghost of Galahad.

4.Last but not least , even after the shiny rod vanished in episode 25 , i think there is a way for it to return without ruining the impact it had in the show. There are seven words of arcturus , and seven of the Luna Nova students are part of the nine new witches , right ?So since the rod became a constellation at the end of the show , seven of those stars could be the seven words , so what if each of the seven words materializes as weapon of their own on earth and each of the seven witches(Akko ,Diana, Lotte,Sucy, Amanda , Constanze , Jasminka) get one of the seven words that became weapons .Because even if the rod disappeared , it came to Akko’s help in a different way , since even if the quest to bringing a new age of magic is far from complete.

Hello!!! Welcome to 🦋 anon's probably-way-too-overthought analysis on the m&m series in light of the new part. I have stopped crying and had about 24 hours to think, and I have discovered I have many thoughts, and this will probably be way more detailed than it should be.
The first thing I would like to address are some of the accusations Chan made at the end of the most recent part. (While I understand that they're supposed to not quite be accurate because of their obvious root in insecurity, and a lot of what I'm saying may just be like "yeah, obviously," I still would like to tell at the character a bit but I can't so this is what I have.)
Claim #1: "You fucking came at us at that party with your little girl-dom agenda and the guys fell for it, hook line sinker!"
This one's fairly self explanatory, no she didn't. They literally came onto her, even him, with his "There’s that pretty blush," and "Whatever you want it to be," lines. (And while yes, it's very likely that he was just trying to play it cool, but there's no way she could've known that, I'll come back to this later.)
Claim #2: "Nobody fucking asked me what I wanted!" "Nobody asked if I was sure that I wanted…"
Also mostly false, but he does have a tiny bit of a point. Yes, reader did grab his hair without asking, which is a little iffy, but she didn't actually rough with him until he goads her on. But I would argue that the reader is actually the ONLY one who asks him what he wants, if he's okay with things. While there may have been a little bit of discussion on the decision to approach the reader that we didn't see because of perspective (him saying this is kind of telling me that there wasn't, or at the very least not enough, maybe even some pressure for this to be the moment), or maybe Changbin said something while reader is with Jisung on the couch, after that, we don't see Jisung and Changbin check in with him at ALL, and there's not really an opportunity any other time for it just not have been noticed by the reader. As his partners, and the ones in the situation who have the full knowledge of Chan's situation, it should've been their responsibility to make sure he was alright throughout the process, even if they're not the ones in control for this situation, ESPECIALLY if they're going to keep this information from their Domme for the night (which really, I would say, wasn't a good idea, but no one is required to out themselves so I'll leave it alone).
HOWEVER, the reader does check with him, several times. She asks for boundaries/hard limits/etc before they even start anything, and while again, he's not required to say "hey, having a sexuality crisis, first time with a girl, kinda nervous," and he may not want to tip off Jisung and Changbin that something's wrong, that would be the time to say something like "I'm not feeling anything rough tonight, if you could be gentler that would be great." She asks them if there's anyone that doesn't actually want to fuck her. Also, she implements a safeword system (which she specifically calls him out to make sure he's okay with), which they weren't even going to USE, and asks them at least twice throughout the scene for their color, and Chan specifically if he's okay at least two more times besides that. Actually Chan almost makes fun of her for asking so many questions, so I think this claim is just another part of his insecurity-fed delusion that she's conspiring to ruin his life, or something, but again I'll come back to that. My point is that despite being the only one who doesn't know his situation, reader is also the only one who checks in with him.
There are a few other things he said that I took issue with, but those are the main two.
Next; Chan's delusion that reader is like conspiring to ruin his life. (Really like how you depicted this by the way, though I may be thinking wayyy too far into this.) I remember watching some video when I had one of my mental health/disorders hyperfixations. The video was about schizophrenia, and while I definitely don't think Chan has schizophrenia, one of the things the video talked about was types of delusions, and this kind of reminded me of one of them. I don't remember what it's called, but it's basically a delusion based around one idea, and then you force the world around you to fit into that idea. One example of this that I can think of is Azula from ATLA. Towards the end of her arc in the TV series, she starts seeing hallucinating her mother everywhere, and you get a peek of her fixed belief that her mother is behind everything that has gone wrong in her life, which is expanded upon a little bit in the books. Obviously Chan's not experiencing delusion to the extent that she did, but I did see some (albeit much less intense) parallels that were interesting. See, if he only talked about how his boyfriends seemed to like the reader more than him, that would be one thing, but he brings up his mother as well, which even though they did speak, it's a little out there to say that your mother likes someone she's talked to once more than you. That, combined with his insisting that the reader is playing some sort of game makes me think of that a little.
Of course this was only at first, when I was like "wtf, where is this 'my boyfriends like you more than me' thing coming from?" And then I reread the first few parts for this monstrosity of an ask that I'm writing rn. While at first I thought that this was entirely out of left field, when I read through the first few parts, especially the second one, with the knowledge that he felt that way, I noticed a few things you had put in there.
For the majority of the scene, or at least the first good chunk, the reader deals with Jisung and Changbin alone, leaving Chan by himself to watch. Obviously, as we see the reader's perspective, we know that it's because she found Chan's attitude intriguing and wanted to be able to deal with that one on one (at least that's what I got from it), it's easy to see now how to someone who's already insecure about their relationship and themselves, that would read as someone replacing you. Especially when Jisung, with no ill intent, but still, outright rejects his help in favour of the reader, and once again, he is left out, only this time it's accompanied with the sting of knowing (or at least feeling) that your partner didn't want you involved.
Now I kinda want to go character by character, and idk, talk about what I think they did wrong? We'll see, I'm not going to edit this so here we go.
Jisung and Changbin : Honestly, looking back on 3racha's first encounter with the reader, they really should have done better as Chan's partners. Like I said earlier, as the ones who knew Chan's situation, and the ones who likely pressured him slightly into he whole ordeal, it was really their responsibility to make sure Chan was okay with everything that was going on. That, and them feeling the need to sneak around with reader behind Chan's back doesn't sit right with me. I get that they have an open relationship, but there's a difference between having an open relationship and hooking up with someone your partner doesn't like, and actively trying to hide that you're hooking up with them. Their relationship boundaries may be fine with that, but idk, something feels off about it.
(I couldn't figure out where to put this and you may have already addressed this but it's my little theory/headcanon that Chan actually suspected it was reader at Jisung's place, and when there wasn't anyone there, he kinda gaslighted himself afterwards, idk. With the new knowledge it feels likely.)
Also, knowing that they were together for a while before Chan joined the relationship I think explains so much about the communication issues they seem to have with him. While I do think Chan has trouble communicating his feelings about things, I think their established communication and knowing eachother really well doesn't help. I may just be making things up at this point, but I feel like they have trouble with communication with Chan specifically, maybe forgetting that he doesn't have the same time/experience thy have with each other? If that makes sense?
Chan : oh boy. I've gone into a lot of detail already, so I'll try to keep this brief. Obviously, I think he has a looooottt of insecurity he needs to work through. If I were reallllyyy analyzing this I would say maybe a past cheating partner(?), but unless that's relevant to the plot I'm not sure if that's just me reading too much into this. Also mentioned before, COMMUNICATION ISSUES. One thing that would prevent half of the issues with this series is Chan communicating with his partners, though I suppose that wouldn't be near as much fun to read. Or just communicating I'm general, like I said, he had a plethora of opportunities to communicate to reader if he wanted something different, and didn't. So, yeah. Honestly I think he causes most of his own problems, but I feel like we knew that.
Reader : Now. I spent most of this series completely on the reader's side. Last night after reading part six, I was like "oh my god. He's right!" But then I took a while and thought a lot about it (as you can see), and honestly, I think reader probably did the least wrong out of everyone. Yes, the hair thing was a little iffy, like I said earlier, but once I went back and realized that he was actively participating and egging her on, I don't think that's necessarily something she did wrong. Beyond that, she did the most in regards of communication (at least during sex, after is another story), even more than the partners themselves. I think she did the best she could with the information that was given to her. She saw three guys approach her as a unit, and while yes, she didn't ask before engaging with Chan, I don't think it's really her fault for assuming that they were all interested as a unit as well. She had no reason to question any of their sexualities, why would she? She sees three partners approach her in unison, why wouldn't she assume they were on the same page? Anyway, all that to say, I think reader is the most innocent of all the main characters so far, though I may feel different after sitting on this for more time.
Anyway, here's this unedited brain dump, loved the new part, enjoy. Or not ig - 🦋
i've been sitting on this for like a week bc it's just so long and amazing??? and i have no idea what to say?? 🥺🥺
the bit about chan having a sort of delusion that reader is out to ruin his life in a pointed, conspired way is VERY interesting. their dynamic is actually something that i pulled from myself, in a way. i'm really superstitious about dumb things. i hate, like, bumping into someone or accidentally saying something that hurts someone's feelings bc i know that that karma/vibe/intention (whatever you wanna call it, i'm not spiritual just paranoid) is gonna come back around.
reader is the opposite. she's just walking around doing things and thinking about herself, and then being shocked when there are equal and opposite reactions to the stuff she does. i overthink everything, so reader doesn't think nearly enough.
but lemme say
that the best thing you said is how jisung and changbin are absolutely not the innocent bystanders that everyone seems to think they are 🤐🤐 most readers LOVE those two. but think about it...what are they trying to accomplish, here? 👀

LO Fans: "I love Lore Olympus because it deals with serious themes, like sexual assault, abuse, gaslighting, trauma, and mental health issues!"
Me, who spent my life discovering and obsessing over masterpieces like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"You're gonna have to try a lot harder than that to impress me."
Yeah, I never understood that kind of praise. For one thing, people act like LO is groundbreaking for that reason, despite there being countless movies, books, tv shows, comics, and video games that also deal with the same themes. That isn't to say there can't be more stories like this, however. I, for one, am begging for another video game that comes close to the emotional resonance of Silent Hill 2, or for a faithful adaptation of Dracula and/or Phantom of the Opera, or for a horror movie as unsettling as The Howling! But to say any new story that deals with these themes is unique for doing so, is just simply not true. Lore Olympus is no more unique than any of these stories. Also, I don't understand the praise that Lore Olympus is great just by virtue of having these themes in the first place. Just because a story has serious themes, doesn't automatically make it good. Far too often does LO use its themes as a crutch for a plot that is standard issue among romances, as opposed to stories like The Howling, which has a very intriguing, outlandish plot that serves as a catalyst to explore themes of very real and relatable horror. Lore Olympus, without its intense themes, is just another story about the CEO falling in love with his intern. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE those kinds of stories, but Lore Olympus just doesn't really do it for me. And the poorly executed themes just hamper it even further for me.
If it wasn't already apparent, has anyone noticed a pattern between these titles? All but one are horror stories. In my opinion, that is one of the key differences between them and LO: Horror! The themes within, are ones that illicit terror, and the stories reflect that (even Phantom of the Opera--don't listen to anyone who says it's a romance). Starting with Dracula, one of the scenes that horrified me the most in the book was the one where Count Dracula sneaks into Mina's bedroom. The book describes him slitting open his own vein and forcing her to drink his blood. Mina then expresses feelings of violation, much akin to what rape survivors feel. It doesn't pull any punches in its shocking, horrific portrayal, but it never comes off as exploitative. That's because the best horror stories rely on the audience's empathy. In this case, nobody wants to feel violated, so we feel as horrified as the characters do when we read about this grotesque event. And because it is about illiciting fear through empathy, Dracula succeeds where Lore Olympus fails. Lore Olympus, before all else, is a romance. And rape should not be in a romantic story. Especially not when the narrative of LO uses this trauma to validate the relationship between the two leads. I'm not a fan of stories that use trauma to validate a relationship between romantic interests, and I think that partly stems from reading the Phantom of the Opera.
If you ask me, Phantom of the Opera is one if the best books to discuss abuse and gaslighting ever written! Despite misconceptions generated by the popularity of the musical, PotO is very much a horror story with hardly any romance at all. And it's one of the best examples about why using trauma to validate a romance is a very bad idea! You see, all the conflict of the story begins with The Phantom and his trauma. He was born with multiple physical deformities that cause him to look like a living corpse. Because of this, he is despised and rejected by the world in order to escape the hatred of the world, he commissions the construction of the Paris Opera House, complete with intricate catacombs where he can live out the rest of his miserable days. Then one day, a woman named Christine comes to work at the Opera as a chorus girl. She is sad and alone due to her being orphaned, without a friend in the world. She too is emotionally damaged and the Phantom thinks this means she'll understand him. The trouble begins instantly when he claims to be a character from a folktale that Christine's father used to tell her. This is when the manipulation and gaslighting begins. Part of what makes this so effective is how we see it from an outside perspective. The protagonist, Raoul, is in love with Christine and we get to see his confusion and growing concern when he starts realizing Christine is showing signs of an abusive relationship. What makes the relationship even worse is the fact that Christine actually does understand The Phantom. So she doesn't run away not only out of fear, but also compassion. She knows what it's like to feel isolated and dead to the world and The Phantom uses that against her. The more I describe this, the more parallels I begin to see to Hades' and Minthe's relationship. Yes, Minthe abused Hades in much of the same way as The Phantom abused Christine. Notice how Minthe keeps convincing Hades that they're the only people who understand each other, even going so far as to say, "We're the same." The funny thing is, that's exactly what the narrative uses to validate Hades' and Persephone's relationship! It tries to establish that Hades and Persephone relate to each other and they say, several times, "We're the same," to each other. But this is exactly how Hades got stuck in a toxic relationship with Minthe, so why is it suddenly okay now? Relationships that use shared trauma to validate themselves are almost always doomed to become toxic, in one way or another.
So what about the healthy relationship in Phantom of the Opera? Well, it's kinda interesting actually. You see, Christine eventually comes to realize that she needs help, so she turns to the protagonist, Raoul, to get her away from the Phantom. Raoul has an interesting character arc because he starts the novel being pretty immature and kinda selfish. He doesn't really take Christine's feelings into consideration. It's more like a boy chasing his childhood crush (actually that's exactly what happens). However, over the course of the story, as he becomes increasingly concerned with her well-being, he learns to care more about her feelings and her needs. This culminates in the climax, when he's willing to crawl through hell itself for her sake. I bring all this up because I wanted to compare Raoul with Hades as well. Hades is a very consistent character. He doesn't need an arc like Raoul because, from the very beginning, he's willing to put all of Persephone's needs before his, to a fault! That is his entire purpose within the narrative of LO. He exists to serve Persephone. Raoul didn't exist to serve Christine. He had his own journey of growing and maturing. And Christine didn't exist to serve Raoul either. It bothers me that a novel from 1910 has a more well-rounded relationship than a modern comic! Actually, now that I think about it, isn't Persephone's entire character arc supposed to be her learning that she shouldn't exist to serve others? Well, that totally contradicts Hades' role in the story, doesn't it? He exists to serve her! I guess, in the eyes of LO, it's only okay if men serve women, but not for women to serve men. Newsflash: neither is okay.
Now Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931) remains, to this day, one of the most terrifying movies I've ever seen! That's all thanks to its brutal depictions of domestic abuse. So Dr. Henry Jekyll believes the solution to enlightening the human race is to separate the good and evil in our souls. He solves this problem by creating a drug to do just that, which transforms him into Edward Hyde, but he becomes addicted and starts terrorizing a woman who was once a former patient of his. I think what makes this so effective, when compared to LO, is one simple factor: Fear. I am terrified of Edward Hyde, but whenever Apollo shows up, I'm just annoyed. That's because Hyde isn't being used to sell an agenda, while Apoll is. Apollo is all about making a statement about toxic masculinity, which always bothered me from the very beginning! Being an abusive cunt who rapes women has nothing to do with masculinity! It doesn't matter if you're masculine or feminine, anyone can be a cunting abusive rapist. If you are a rapist, it's because you're a monster who lacks empathy, not because of masculinity. And if you think masculinity has something to do with a lack of empathy, fuck off! Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is not about toxic masculinity. It's about how drug addiction can often hurt other people around us just as much, if not moreso, than ourselves. It also doesn't use rape to validate a relationship between characters. I'm sorry, but that is just the laziest storytelling technique. When the antagonist is a rapist OF COURSE the male love interest is going to look better by comparison! But when you take Apollo out of the equation, Hades stops looking like a desirable love interest real fucking quick.
So yeah, I think Hades makes for a bad love interest. That's mostly because he's so much like Shinji Ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Yeah, the one title from the list above that's not a horror, but is no less relevant. The thing is, both Hades and Shinji have a lot in common, such as hating themselves, having a bad relationship with their father, and not caring at all about their own wants and needs. Oh, also Asuka's a better written character than Minthe, but that's a whole other topic. What makes Evangelion work, in my opinion, is that Shinji's whole journey is about learning to love himself, while Hades is portrayed as being perfect the way he is. Hades in LO is like a flawless beacon of virtue, solely because he worships the ground Persephone walks on. But the guy just doesn't care about himself at all! Like I said earlier, Hades guilty of the same self-destructive behaviors as Persephone but he's praised for it, while Persephone is encouraged to look after herself more often. Compare this to Shinji, whose life only gets worse the more he neglects himself. The only time Hades does something beneficial for himself is when he breaks up with Minthe, but immediately after that, he starts devoting every ounce of energy to Persephone! All that matters is her! He doesn't give a single fuck about himself. Sorry, but that's not good qualities in a male love interest. In all fairness, this is a problem with the romance genre as a whole. Most romances give priority to the protagonist (in this case Persephone) while neglecting the love interest (Hades). It's why I have a serious problem with the entire genre.
Now what could Silent Hill 2 have that is in any way relevant to Lore Olympus? Two words: Nightmare Fuel. Personifying trauma as literal demons is one of the smartest ideas anyone's ever had, because speaking from personal experience, that's how it feels. I just don't feel like the trauma experienced by the characters in LO is a waking nightmare like it is in real life. For one, the characters' trauma only pops up when it's convenient for the plot. Like whenever Persephone starts experiencing ptsd, it happens when she's with Hades so we can get a scene with Hades cuddling her. After that, it shows up in a scene to make her look badass by confronting Apollo. No, just no. The Howling did it better too, by making the protagonist's trauma such an inconvenience in her life! I never felt that way in LO. When you uss traumatic encounters to make your character look like a badass, kindly fuck off.

My thoughts on Ninjago the Island!!! 🏝🏝🏝
So, gotta be honest... this is not a Blind reaction thing, I actually watched it in French first so I know most of the stuff already 😅 It's entertaining, it got great animation, but nothing more than that in my opinion 🤷‍♀️
Still there is stuff I liked or I want to point out, and finally I'm seeing the English version so I can actually understand what the HECK they are saying 🤩
Alright, nothing else to say, here we go!
UNCHARTED
I haven't actually seen anything Clutch Powers related before Ninjago, is he always like this? I love that he is a jerk honestly, just wondering 😂
Press F for respect for intern Dwaine (at least he seems to like being... used?)
Clutch: It's just a bunch of rocks! It's not alive!
Totem: I'm about to end this man's whole career
Wait, Misako is part of the explorers club? ... that would have come in handy in season 11 to get the scroll of Forbitten Spinjitzu from the club instead of begging uncle Powers for it... *sighs* I don't mind plot holes in Ninjago like most fans I think, but if you wanna make Misako relevant again at least pay attention to the details 😅
Wow, after the end of season 13 I would've thought Wu was going to go through a midlife crisis, not Misako 😂😂
Oww, everytime I hear I get 😢 Bless your soul Kirby, always in our hearts 🖤🖤🖤
Well hello Brian
Tumblr media
Always nice to see you 😊
Twitchy Tim must have been pretty interesting to voice 🤔 I like him enough, he's fun and all, maybe not at the level of the characters we got last season
Okay, the place is called the STORM belt, there are LIGHTNINGS, and the sand of the beach is BLUE. Are we gonna address any of these similarities to our Bluebell here or not? 😅
Wait, Tim was giving a hot air balloon tour, does that mean other people where with him? What of them? Are they dead? Did he let them die on the island?... am I reading too much into this? Probably 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
Alright, the part of the boats? SO COOL 🤩🤩 I literally can't say anything bad about the animation at this point
Why did they think leaving Kai, Jay and Cole on one boat was going to be a good idea 😂 Also Zane just randomly doing sick tricks on his vehicle, love that nindroid
I'm guessing Nya is keeping her water abilities for her season 🤷‍♀️
Yep, yep, this is why the creators try to keep Pixal out of the adventures, with her everything is way too cool and easy to access to 😎😎
Twitchy Tim: There are statues that become alive!!
Lloyd:... so it's a season 2 stone army ripoff, we've seen worse
It's a cute episode overall 👍
THE KEEPERS OF THE AMULET
OKAY THE INTRO IS SO FREAKING COOL 🤩🤩🤩🤩
So Twitchy Tim has temporarily taken over Jay's role of spazzing out and complain about worse case scenarios... in another occasion they might have bonded over this, maybe 😂
Okay, survival position? MOOD
Nya: DRAGOOON 😱
Me: DRAGOOOOOOON 😍😍😍
Why am I not surprised that Jay was the one that named him Zippy? 💙 Also HE'S SO CUTE 💕💕💕 Love how in every adventure, we always get very different types of dragon in this show 👌 I'm a simple person, I see a dragon... 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Oh-oh, it's the "Lloyd's done with this crap"'s face
Tumblr media
This means serious business... am I that used to LEGO characters that this way of crossing arms on the chest looks almost normal to me? 😅
Soooo, Master of the Mountain clearly gave Cole too much development... because now he got demoted to "the one who is always hungry" 🤦‍♀️ I'm all for Cole's endearing love for cakes, which is super relatable, but if you're gonna push it on his fun side, at least be coherent 🙃
Is it just me or it feels like the writing of this special was made by someone different from the one of season 13? Like, it's not bad, just less engaging and witty. For now. Maybe I'm being premature 🤷‍♀️
New way of nerfing powers, we got... weird, sucking power totem thingies... OKAY
My gosh I really can't say anything about the animation, look at that! It's all cinematic with such a light! YES!! 🤩
I'M SORRY
Tumblr media
WHY ARE WE LOOKING OVER THIS??? IT LOOKS LIKE COLE'S LAVA PUNCHES BUT THEY ARE JAY LIGHTNING FEET??? IT'S A GREAT IDEA AND I WOULD LOVE TO SEE IT AGAIN??? WHY ARE WE IGNORING THIS??? 💙💙💙💙
So they at least addressed that lightning isn't a Jay's thing only anymore 😅
Alright, Jay having a mental breakdown because of a bridge because it always breaks, that's the Bluebell I know and love 😂😂 Nya telling him to keep moving was cute too 💙❤💙❤
Okay, I'm sorry but this really bothers me, what kind of lightning can instantly knock out the MASTER OF LIGHTNING??? Like, my gosh, really??? I hope they give us an explanation, like it's some sort of special lightning, because this really doesn't sit right with me. Jay is lightning proof, we've seen it in Skybound, we've seen it in Sons of Garmadon, I DON'T BELIEVE HE WOULD JUST BE KNOCKED OUT LIKE THAT 😡😡😡
Soooooo, storm amulet? Being one with the lightning? Is that the reason why Jay got to be the sacrifice? 😅
THE GIFT OF JAY
Alright, I am kinda looking forward for this one, what did Bluebell actually say or do to get him into trouble this time 😂😂
Oh, he just... introduced himself... well that was underwhelming
SENSEI👏YOU👏ARE👏A👏FREAKING👏GOD👏STOP👏GETTING👏KIDNAPPED👏BY👏RANDOM👏VILLAINS👏
Bring ooooon Lloyd Grills 💪
Okay I did like the little speech, definitely resonates with how Lloyd survived this long even though everything wanted him to give up, even his father... I'M NOT CRYING YOU'RE CRYING 😭
Jay out there making the real questions 😂
Awwww Edna used to call him gift of Jay? I can totally see it, so cute 💙💙 Makes even more sense if Libber actually left Jay at the Walkers' door...
Pff, Jay made the connection I would've done honestly 🤷‍♀️ Like, him being the master of lightning really didn't give these dudes any impression or inspiration? Any cool idea, full Road of El Dorado style? 🙃🙃
Lloyd out there abusing of the animation budget 💚💚💚
Somehow these ninja never actual sneak in, it's always a huge mess everyone knows about beforehand 😂 It's familiar though, I'm used to it and happy with it 👍
I might not be the biggest Misako fan, but you know what I am a fan of?
Tumblr media
LEGO HUGS 😍😍😍😍😍
Dang it uncle Powers, you just got here to make a mess did you 😅
Not the first person of the fandom to say this, but Jay looks absolutely lovely with that flower crown 🌺🌺🌺
Oh poor greenie
Tumblr media
Lloyd just has the worst luck 😓
Jay: Why would I be the gift?
Kai: Yeah who would want Jay?
Nya: Huh, me?? 😡
Got some very good Jaya for this little special, can't complain 💙❤💙❤
I mean, not matter how big of a snake Wojira might turn out to be, we've already seen the biggest and the second biggest snake of all so 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
Whoa, at last... IT WAS THE FIRST SPINJITZU MASTER THAT HAD SOMETHING HE SHOULD'VE TOLD WU A LONG TIME AGO!! 😱 Wu, you got pulled a Wu, how does it feel? 😂
Again, Jay freaking out, kinda my jam it's too funny 💙💙
Wow Kai way to be hominous offscreen 👏👏 I miss talking about my flame babe, this really isn't his time 🤷‍♀️
THE TOOTH OF WOJIRA
So when I first watched this I was genuinely, really excited about knowing the truth behind all this. It turned out very different from what I first thought, but at least in this case it's okay (besides I was pushing with the lightning meaning just to see Libber again 😅😅😅)
I feel like the guys get their powers stolen or blocked so much it takes them a minute to remember "Oh wait I can literally burn my way out" 🤷‍♀️
SPINJITZU YAY 🤩
I... forgot that Misako knows how to fight 😅 She knows how to do spinjitzu too if I remember correctly...
NYA BEING LIKE "OUT OF THE WAY IMMA SAVE MY BOYFRIEND AGAIN" ❤💙❤💙
Gotta love how they were all crazy worried about Jay, like, this is something that never changes through the show. They really care so so much for each other 💕💕💕
Ooohhhh, okay, so Wojira does seem to be the main villain of next season according to the story. I remember Tommy saying that we needed to have faith and this is probably why. The special was okay, nothing too much, and hopefully that too much we will see in Nya's season 😍😍😍
What the- pff, I didn't notice this the first time 😂
Tumblr media
At this point I can't tell if that one short with the chicken of the movie carried a hate or a love for chickens in the actual show 😂😂
Nice to see Jay standing up for himself at least for a little while 💪 Also Lloyd being "He's our trouble", aww family 💜
THERE IT IS
Tumblr media
MY BRUISE HEART IS SOARING 🖤💙🖤💙
Gotta give props to the voice actors, voicing an explanation while fighting must be pretty hard! WE ARE BLESSED WITH AN AMAZING CAST!!! 🤩🤩🤩
And there he is, our favorite jerk... shaved Ronin 😂 He does look a little weird, but it's fair, new animation and all. Not the weirdest until now 🤷‍♀️
I genuinely had to make a mental check to see where we are with Ronin now, like, he started as a villain, then a partner, he betrayed us, became an ally, he hunted the ninja, then joined them, that timeline was erased, he was around in SoG and... wow this man is chaotic 😂😂
Yaaaay, Twitchy's last minute redemption act! Lloyd is too good at motivational speeches 👏👏
A bit of Lava OTP/BrOTP
Tumblr media
Cause it's good for the heart ❤🖤❤🖤
Okay, Scooby doo reference, why not? Also honestly, I'm confident Ronin has seen A LOT of jails and prisons... probably won't stay behind bars for long 😅
Mammatus: sorry for imprisoning you and almost killing your friend
Kai: no biggie, that's how we make friends in this show
Alright the "And Clutch Powers" gag made me chuckle 😂 ... wait where is he- DANG IT UNCLE POWERS
Okay, this is the last time I say it I promise, but I mean. I MEAN

THE ANIMATION GUYS 😍😍😍
Aaaaand sensei you jinxed it 😅 But you apparently awakened Nya's season so I'm gonna forgive you on this one 😉
FINAL THOUGHTS
There are a few little details that bothered me a little, and it wasn't as exciting as I maybe hoped it was going to be, but it was fine. Enjoyable still. These characters make me like the show, even when it got nothing too impactful 🤷‍♀️
But I got triggered about that lightning thing with Jay 😅 I guess I'll just fanfic whatever I had in mind...
Don't have to repeat myself about the animation *chef's kiss*
The writing was really less engaging, a little normal in a way? Idk just a feeling. Nice to see Ronin again though, I really like him. And nice to see Jay freaking out, I really like that too 😂
To be honest I wanted to put down my thoughts on this one because I REALLY wanna do the same with Nya's season 🤩🤩 I already know that Maya is gonna be there and I am so HAPPY already!!! 💙💙💙
So that's it from me! Thank you for reading me ranting, see you next season! 😊

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
Haven’t done one of these in what feels like forever and that would be because I’ve been in a book rut.  When quarantine started and PA shut down, I was literally 5 books ahead of my year goal of 50.  I am now only 1 book ahead of schedule and that was after some short easy reads to catch up
Tumblr media
BUT. I finally finished Ninth House which took an entire month (about 3 weeks too long tbh) so stop reading after the weird snake ball if you haven’t finished that one because I have some things to say about it.
Tumblr media
First, characters
Alex
Overall I liked her. She had a lot of baggage and complex things from her past, but she was at her base, a survivor.
I liked that she wasn’t perfect. Too often in books the main character is basically perfect with a few small flaws to make them relatable. Alex had a lot of flaws that she acknowledged, and as the book went on I felt like she was working really hard to make herself better for Lethe and for herself.
She could see ghosts so that was kinda cool 👻
Bonus points for having the same nickname as me (team Alex FTW 💁🏻‍♀️)
Darlington
I wish we had more of him 🙃 I really enjoyed the few parts of the book in his POV
Him and Alex we’re almost polar opposites, but they worked so well together
He was so smart and took his job so seriously. Literally was always just trying to do his best
Dawes
Dawes was literally so SWEET 💕
Darlington and Alex would have been a mess without her. I wish she was in the book more but I loved how her and Alex got closer as the story went on and I feel like she’s going to be a bigger part of book 2
Turner
Not gonna lie...I loved him.  He was such a hardass and was literally no help to Alex in the beginning but he totally grew on me
I love how in the beginning we could barely get two gruff sentences from him, but by the end of the book he’s laughing at things Alex says
Dean Sandow
I could not decide during the book if he was a villain or just a weirdo because of his part in Lethe
North 👻
Poor poor lost soul.  At first I totally thought he murdered his fiancé and then killed himself
Then I thought he was just possessed
And then I just felt bad for him.  All he wanted was to find the girl he had loved in the after life so they could be together forever but she turned out to be completely evil and crazy 😥
Belbalm
Totally thought she was just a professor that wanted to see her students succeed
Boy was I fucking wrong about that one 🤦🏻‍♀️
Now, the plot!
At first I wasn't sure how I felt about the time jumps, but as the book went on I liked them.  They were a good way to give the reader information without drowning them in too much of it at once
I really liked the modern magic of the Houses of the Veil. It reminded me of occult stories and stuff like that. It was a nice change from the usual magic in fantasy books
I also really liked the murder-mystery. When I’m not reading fantasy I like thrillers and mysteries so Ninth House was a good combo of the two for me
I do wish that there was more (or any really 😂) romance. All we got was a very very very small part where Darlington was drugged/tricked into making a move on Alex and they were both like WTF.  It was kind of hinted that they were attracted to each other but then Darlington disappeared so that was it 🙃
Me telling myself I don’t need a romantic subplot and Alex doesn’t need a SO:
Tumblr media
The flashbacks to Alex and her ex do not count because they're relationship was a MESS
I would count Alex/Hellie as a romantic subplot but it was never specified if Alex’s love for her was romantic or platonic and we only got a few flashbacks of them interacting anyway and one of them was when Hellie’s ghost goes into Alex to kill everyone else for causing her death 😢
I also feel like there should have been some trigger warnings.  I haven't ever read a book that had one and it needs to become a thing.  Some of the stuff definitely could be difficult to read and not being warned about it wouldn't be ok (looking at you ghost rape scene). Katie reached that part before me so I knew it was going to happen, but if she hadn’t told me I never would have expected to read it
I do think that Bardugo did a good job keeping the reader on their toes when it came to trying to figure out who murdered Tara. I literally could not figure it out because everyone seemed like a logical suspect
I was so upset when they tried to bring Darlington back and they thought he was dead like whyyyyyyy
Me after that failed ritual:
Tumblr media
Blake was a garbage human and I was glad Dawes bashed his head in 🤷🏻‍♀️
The whole time I was reading I was so confused as to why North’s story was relevant
Me trying to figure out how it all fit together:
Tumblr media
And then at the end I was like OH SHIT
I was not ready for Belbalm to actually be Daisy and she's kept herself alive all this time BY EATING PEOPLES SOULS
ALSO WHAT IS A WHEELWALKER
And she was the one creating the nexuses?!?!?!
I wasn't surprised about Sandow being involved in Tara’s murder. He was definitely sketchy enough throughout the whole book
The ending really made the book for me.  The entire time I was reading I was on the fence about it but there were some good twists and now I have tons of questions and am excited for the next book
Are Alex and Dawes really going to hell and are they actually going to bring Darlington back? How??? (pls come back I need more of him)
If they do get him back, what is he going to do now that he knows Alex can use Grays’ strength and that she was responsible for three murders?!?!
While Ninth House was a lot of world building and background, I’m completely glad I powered through and finished this one.  Now I sit and wait for the next book to come out
