Haven’t been able to watch season 2 of Shadow and Bone yet, but just saw a behind the scenes video on Instagram where Genya and David were holding hands… ❤️❤️❤️

They make me so happy.

Also literally every picture and video of Paddy Gibson in costume as Nikolai. 💙 Yes. Adding years to my life!! Nikolai my beloved.

The cute photos of Jessie and Archie in costume are also making me happy!! Alina and Mal are adorable in the show and I love them together.

#tiddytaco #b #thinking about it rn bc today while i was driving my mom home from pt #she saw someone she knew from years ago driving & was like FOLLOW THAT CAR & we met them in a parking lot #& the conversation turned to 'hey what the hell happened to your parents' pretty quickly bc our families hadnt been in touch #& it was a long conversation in the hobby lobby parking lot #& idk if itll ever Stop being fresh in my mind but now its Extra fresh in my mind #that whole time period was just so insane & awful #bc it was like Ok we're caring for both grandparents #& then my grandpa died #& all our pets at the time were very old #& when he died it occurred to me that we could easily lose both grandparents and all 3 pets within the year #it turned out to be like a long drawn-out year & a half from the first to the last #& looking back it seems impossible that is was that short a time period bc it felt like an eternity #we got off easy with grandpa bc he died before it got too bad but with grandma it just kept getting Worse #& the climax of the caring experience was traveling to take her to my uncle bc he wanted to take his shift caring for her #& that was so . So bad. SO bad #like it literally could not have gone more smoothly and it was SO bad #just thinking about it i feel like im there again i get so stressed out

#i walked into a situation today where my mom was effectively already dead. effectively bc her body was and is still alive. still breathing #painful groaning purrs. but her mind was gone yesterday. my dad said he showed her a picture of the mountains i took that day and told her #i loved her and she smiled. thats what he said. maybe he was just being nice. or maybe thats the last time she thought of me. i dunno. but #the human body is an incredible thing. shes got a heart still powering a broken body. too full of tumors to function anymore. stomach #streched like a pregnant mother. it happed really fast and now its happening very slow #im somehow probably better off than the rest of them. i only got here for the aftermath of a downslide. my daily life will b least effected #i only really saw her twice a year living so far away and she didnt text much. didnt call often. so life wont change much ill just kno shes #not there. which is sad. but theres nothing to b done abt it. life goes on. it hasnt been all bad tho. its nice to talk to my family abt her #how incredible she was. bc she was. wish her mom wasnt here tho. she doesn't deserve to b here. my mom wouldnt want her here. she didnt want #her here. but anyway. i wish her body would just let her go now. so we can sleep. so this can be over. so she can rest #but even like this shes stubborn and resilient. they say it could go on for days but i hope not. may the universe let her rest shes gotta b #so tired after 10 years of this. but i have no regrets. she knew how i felt abt her. and i dont think she had regrets either. she did so #much up to the very end. went out on a high note without the burdon of knowing it was coming #i dunno. its just such a strange experience to watch the empty shell of your mother sleeping like a gurgling baby #unrelated

#I don’t even know how to feel right now #my kiddo moved up into the older kids room #then yesterday I get a message from daycare saying another kid scratched my baby’s face #and I’m like okay a scratch is just a scratch it happens #when I got home and saw him I was like what the fuck this wasn’t just a little scratch it is dark and red and angry #and then I go to give him a bath and I see he has a bitemark shaped bruise on his shoulder #and I’m like what the fuck why wouldn’t you tell me this too #and I go in today to talk to the director and she wasn’t there #they give me the incident report that says basically this kid #wanted to take my sons pacifier and he wouldn’t let him and he scratched his face and pushed him down and bit him #like what the actual fuck #why wouldn’t you tell me the whole thing #I had to find out on my own by seeing a mark on my babies skin #I’m so upset #he’s still such a gentle baby like he doesn’t hit or bite out of anger yet #so it just breaks my heart to know this other kid did this to him #and that the daycare ladies weren’t there to monitor and see it happen

#random personal stuff #personal whining feel free to ignore #library booksales are kind of a big deal for me #I don't get to get out much so they're a good excuse to go on an adventure with friends #back in December one of my friends asked me to come to that month's sale but I was sick and couldn't be allowed to expose her baby to that #so I had to decline and that was disappointing and oh well maybe next time #today she blithely messages me that she dragged her husband to a library booksale and she found a lot of Sayers #I had no idea this was happening no idea she was going #she saw me on Thursday and apparently never thought to bring it up?#and I don't know if this was just thoughtless on her part or what but OUCH???#(this is in a town forty-five minutes away by car & I cannot go there unless someone else invites me to ride with them)

life is cruel.

it's tragic, horrific, and unfair. it gives us the worst of things, causes us to feel and experience things that are so unspeakably painful that sometimes I can't even. I can't even.

and it seems even more cruel in those moments of pain and grief and loss when you see something beautiful, like fall colors, or the color of the sky at sunset, or how the holidays typically are meant to bring joy to people but all you can think about now is that every year when this time of year comes, you'll just think about how tragic it is.

and cruel.

and horrific.

and unfair.

and beautiful.

Your essay on Joong's underrated acting skills deepened my Joong appreciation so much, that I watched Mafia the Series, I'm watching Ploy's Yearbook (even though there is a serious lack of Joong so far), and I'm planning on watching The Warp Effect too. I haven't watched het shows in over ten years, so this is a big deal! 😂 I really liked him with Dunk in their shows, but MTS gave me another facet of him, because he's so timid in it, unlike in SIMM and HA, where he's (seemingly) very cool and in control. So thank you for making me a full time Joong (and Dunk) girl 💜

mafia the series might actually be my absolute fave thai het-show, it's just SO funny!!!! and the entire cast is so great, like, not just joong but the entire cast plays off each other SO well. and don't even get me started on gina virahya and her portrayal of anna kondra!!!!

you know, when i went into mafia the series i saw the poster and was like "ughh i really am gonna have to sit through this standard (overly) dramatic mafia show just for joong, huh. the things i do for my boy..." and then. AND THEN. you can imagine my surprise. i was crying tears of laughter throughout the show and i was actually laughing so hard that my mom made a comment about how she could hear my laugh in my room

and yes there IS a serious lack of joong in ploy's yearbook so far :((((

it was quite funny tho bc in the one scene where joong does show up i immediately recognized him by the back of his head, like!! i saw this:

i've adored them ever since simm which i watched live from ep2 onwards. fun fact, actually: when i started simm i actually had no idea who they were (even though technically i'd seen dunk in bad buddy already, except i wasn't paying attention to the random high school bandmates and so i didn't actually recognize dunk and only realized later on ahahah)

aaaanyway, i had no idea who they were, right? and so in 2022 my mom and i spent two nights in prague during easter and in the evening we were in our hotel room and we were kinda looking for something to watch. and i was like "hey look, gmmtv has a new bl out and it looks kinda cute and fluffy judging by the thumbnails?? and like something that doesn't require too much brain power?? plus, there's also only two eps out so far, so we'll be caught up right away" and so we watched the first two episodes and then the two of us ended up watching every new ep together every week hahaha

i actually didn't really talk about it on tumblr back then and when you go back on my blog you'll see that there are hardly any simm post. but really, with every new simm episode that aired i liked joongdunk more and more. and especially once the characters started dating i was actually so in awe about just how comfortable joong and dunk were with each other and how they absolutely weren't afraid to touch? like, their physical affection was just so casual, like it was the most natural thing in the world to them in an "i'm-not-even-thinking-about-it-bc-it's-so-normal" kind of way and that was just soooo refreshing to watch?? i was (and still am) truly amazed

and when just a couple of months later, at the end of 2022 gmmtv announced joongdunk were gonna get another show together i got SO excited!! and also when it was revealed that simm was included in our skyy 2!!!!

and then hidden agenda started airing and then i was tagged in that tag game and then i went to watch joong's entire filmography and then i ended up falling into a joongdunk rabbit hole and here we are...

anyway, i have multiple agendas and one of them is turning people into joong fans and dunk fans and joongdunk fans sllksdfd

and my other agenda is getting people to watch mafia the series, bc it's truly a gem of a show!!!!

(speaking of agendas: the only thing that's missing in your message is you telling me that you approve of my fight for a sexy joongdunk vampire bl, like... that would have made the message and the influence of my joong/dunk/joongdunk blogging complete 😂😂😂)

the amount of time I spend on tumblr dot com has given me quite the set of standards when it comes to artworks on the theme of 'Trans Angel', and actual museums are failing to meet those standards quite spectacularly.

#news from the cupola #if you don't want to hear a lot of inane whining stop reading this post Here.#today once again I saw this particular sculpture entitled exactly that. it is the most unpleasant thing I have ever beheld.#it is relevant that it is a sculpture about the transamerica pyramid and not about Transgender things. but I do keep forgetting that.#so many errors were made in the construction of this fucking thing. I have seen it maybe thrice at this point and it has not grown on me #in the slightest. and I know that the conversation about Good Art and what makes Good Art is certainly fraught.#but by my lights whatever this is this isn't good art #maybe it's partially that this thing is displayed among some really wild examples of Just What Can Be Done With Clay #it's surrounded by hundreds of years' worth of technical mastery and it fails to be anything of note except bad to see!#clunky sculpting! ugly glazing! forms that are difficult to parse but also not very interesting once you do see them!#and why in the goddamn does it have the twitter logo sculpted all over it. what is Happening.#everything else by this artist in this exhibit is also not great in similar ways?#it's not even bad in a way that's interesting! it's just. not good!#it all feels like they're trying far too hard to make Art That Means Something and missing by a mile #also. no one calls the transamerica pyramid that. #think about the context of this woman writing this right #she was born in 1907 #so by the time she was 20 she had lived through one world war with the next right on the horizon #as well as at this point witnessing the effects of so many other 20th century conflicts #she’s 65 at this point and this is what she sees ahead for future generations #which I’ve no doubt others saw coming as well but just like everyone for USUK in the book is acting #I’m sure plenty read this and thought but that could never happen not now not here not to us #but look where we are today #look at the genocide being enacted in Palestine #I want people to read this book in 2024 and think hard about it #because the events of the book are happening to white people in England right #I’m not at all trying to say she described anything on the level of the real world atrocities currently happening #but the slowly building anxiety of ‘but what could really happen they won’t do that’#then overnight all these new restrictions and retaliation #phones cut power cut water cut travel ban #just because it’s happening to people far away from your life #doesn’t mean it could never happen #you wouldn’t see it coming or think it was all that bad until suddenly it was too late #obviously I am reaching to apply this book to today but I think it could make certain people reexamine their mindset #daphne du maurier #rule britannia #quote #this book is making me think so much about imperialism and occupation and military states and civilian cruelty #through such an interesting lens considering what I know of Daphne du mauriers life up to the point she wrote this #this was her last novel #and it’s so different from her other novels #like this to me is her equivalent of a Connecticut Yankee in king Arthur’s court #except it’s just the ending where everything becomes terrible so fast
