Happy Lockwood & Co. Big Bang!!! :D I had the absolute pleasure of collaborating with @The_Dreamer_Half_Alive (on Ao3 :) on her fic for the @lockwoodandcobigbang2023 event; set post TEG, it’s truly so lovely and heartwarming, and I had so much fun doing a piece for it! We very much hope you enjoy :)

Okay, so I tried to put a bunch of little easter eggs from the fic and just in general in here, so if you’re interested:

Alright, to start off, I was generally very inspired by them getting a record player; I thought it was very sweet, and I loved the idea of them finally getting to relax and hang out in the library (the lack of chairs, I know; I couldn’t figure out how to put them in without blocking people lol) and locklyle dancing, with the record player on in the background, so that’s what I took as the basis of the scene!!

We had discussed that the characters were kind of a combo of both show and book versions, so I tried to add a smattering and hints of both when doing their designs!

The record is, of course, an Ella Fitzgerald record as mentioned in the fic (the record drawn is her Souvenir Album)

Holly is wearing her engagement ring, and wearing shades of pink and cream because that’s what she wears at her wedding (although shifted in hue to better match the color scheme of the piece lol)

Everyone (minus Flo) of course has their white strands of hair (which is *always* one of my favorite details to draw)

Lucy and George bake in the fic, but I think I had just read the Christmas mini story when I was doing my thumbnail for this, so Kipps ended up being the one bringing in baked goods; however, the baking mitts are orange and monogrammed with George's initials because I couldn't let that slip by, could I?

I wasn't quite sure what to put Flo in, because in the books she never takes off her boots or puffer jacket, but I wanted to throw in some sign that she was living at 35 Portland Row and becoming closer to all of them, (and her close relationship with George,) so I let her keep the boots, but traded the puffer jacket in for one of George's plaid shirts :)

The chess game also made it in because of the Christmas short story, lol

Lucy's blue star jacket!! When I read the fic, I was planning from the start to have her wearing the jacket, so of course it made it in :) I wasn't really sure what style it should be, though, so I ended up with kind of an odd mishmash of designs, but I think it turned out working alright!

The sapphire necklace, because, of course

I adore that Lockwood wears his pink socks throughout the entire show (well, most of the time they're the pink ones ;) so I wanted to include them (and then gave Lucy blue ones to match :)

The chipped blue mugs that Lockwood brings to Lucy for her tea after she wakes up from nightmares are on the bookshelf, and I couldn't find a way to directly include the Earl Grey tea they have, but I made the tea bag tags grey in honor of it

The green glow is the ghost lamp outside because if I can find a way to incorporate cool glows in my art, I will (and also on a more narrative-driven note, symbolizing the past danger they've been through and how some of it is definitely still present, but they have each other to heal with and finally be able to have some simple fun with, and are now curled up in the safety and comfort of 35 Portland Row :)

And finally, a big theme of the fic is them healing and building a happy life together, so I just wanted them to all be happy for once, and hence I put in my best efforts to draw them as such :)

WMMAP's manhwa: Now in Thai!

I'm a little bit late reporting about this, but WMMAP's manhwa will get an official Thai translation! The physical books will be released by SENSE T Publishing in collaboration with KW Books.

The books include postcards and bookmarks, and preorders will also receive 2 acrylic keychains (5x5 cm).

Yesterday's poll decided that The Adventurer should purchase some new shoes for himself while he's in the city...

It costs quite a bit of coin, but in the end he decides that having a new sturdy pair of boots will serve him well on his travels. After he's done in the shop, he rushes back to the local inn before nightfall, eventually settling into a somewhat restless sleep..

The next morning, he orders some cheap vegetable stew from a food stall, then lounges in a park as he has his breakfast, watching the squirrels weave through flowering trees and birds pecking about in the dewy grass.. When finished with his meal (and sufficiently recovered from the emotional turmoil of burning his tongue on the soup), he quickly sells his old pair of shoes to a sketchy pawn shop before finally getting back to his journey...

By his calculations, if he he walks all day, it should only be two more sleeps before he gets to his destination, so he sets out to travel as efficiently as possible. He doesn't have the money to rent a cart, or the skill to ride a borrowed horse, but, he does have some fancy new walking shoes and a renewed sense of purpose. No more meandering through fields looking for flowers, napping in the shade, or scanning the ground for cool rocks.. He's going to focus this time!

......After a few hours, he comes across a broken down carriage in the middle of the road, with few people surrounding it, seemingly stuck trying to repair a wheel or something. It's hard to discern from afar..

Maybe if he helps them, he could get a free ride.. or some coins.. or make a new lifelong friend! Who knows? Possibilities flood his mind, this is what adventuring is all about! Wandering into interesting situations and making the most out of them!! .. But, then he recalls his previous oath.. he's supposed to focus today and not allow himself to sidetracked.. And who says he has the skills to help anyway? It could always just be a waste of time... Hmm...

What should he do?

I said I was trying to get back on schedule.. idk what happened #I guess I initially thought that april would be a less busy month but then it actually ended up being MORE busy with a ton of appointments #and stuff so then I had like no time. on top of trying to get a lot of other stuff done... so.. eughhh #I DO STILL want to keepon track of this more though. I want to at least get him to the abandoned castle so he can complete #his quest. I think like. the first poll a lot of people seemed to like and care about and participate in so it was kind of like 'oh! cool!#it can be a fun collaborative story with a lot of people!' but then gradually less people participate or care so then I kind of allow mysel #to slack with it as well liike 'oh its fine if I miss a day or two here and there' which then turns into a month when I have other stuff #to do lol. Because it does still take time. like maybe 2 hours to put a post together. even if the art and writing is relatively rushed and #quick. Especially since polls are not editable once posted so half the time is just proofreading the post and tags 15 times #just to make super sure there's no errors or etc. lol.. But trying to clear two hours of time during an already hectic day for something #that generally speaking very few people are engaged with or care about at all when it's meant to be interactive (like with normal art #or costumes or other stuff I do - low interaction doesnt bother me since that's not the point/it's not as relevant. but with an actual poll #you do want like.. the most poeple possible to vote on it etc. lol) so it's like.. ehhh #I was originally thinking like 'oh i could do this for an entire year and tell like a whole story and it'd be cool to see where it ends #up eventually after so long and the community kind of choosing the direction of everything!' but now its like 'well people care significant #ly less about the following polls than they did the first one so maybe not As Big Of A Thing but I do at least want to finish the current #thing going on' etc. I mean if in the next few posts it becomes More Of A Thing then it's very fluid. I could do it for longer #but with the way things are looking it's like. is it worth the time investment when i ALSO have 800 other creative projects I'm meant to be #working on?? etc. etc. ANYWAY though.. Still there will probably be at least 10 or however many more since there's still like 1-2 more days #before he even gets to the castle plus then doing things AT the place.#I want to continue his journey!!!!! I also have just felt sick and weird and so unfocused for a while eughhh.. sorry #OO I almost forgot about his injury from the fight. i had to just add it in the last moment lol.. god. can i just say i love the youtube deltarune theorycrafting scene so much. the way that the most prominent theorists actually talk to each other and do like collabs and constantly, CONSTANTLY shout out each other's videos in their own. its just so nice to see how even if their ideas dont always line up, everyone is united and all work together to unravel this crazy story

#honestly i feel like its so collaborative that most of the time you cant even watch a deltarune theory/analysis video without there being #some kind of reference to another person's video/post/whatever that they're bouncing off of or using as a resource #its so cool how one person will make a video and then everyone will start using that video as a resource to send ppl to if they need to #catch up on certain things. the one i see most often is the ''who dr gaster is and why that matters to deltarune'' vid by misty sparkles #(i love that video so much)#and recently i've seen a lot of videos reference andrew cunningham's incredible video about gaster's motif #oh also ''the depths and the submarine castle town theory'' by brix vgm i also see referenced a lot #it seems like that's become a very popular theory. which is cool because i like that theory and think its very plausible #esp since its pretty simple. i mean the vid's only 8 minutes its not some sprawling all encompassing theory #ANYWAYS. sorry. i just love deltarune theorizing so much #AND EVEN IF UR NOT ONE OF THOSE MORE POPULAR THEORISTS!!!!!! the problem with thinking about the combined story for alice and lorcan (nuada and suhaila and uriel and unnamed venus fly trap woman are all included in this) is how many other characters i have to make to be in opposition to them
