Remembering #JuthikaRoy on her 10th death anniversary (05/02/14), the iconic bhajan vocalist celebrated as the modern-day #Meera during the pre-independence era. Renowned for her soul-stirring Meerabai bhajans such as "Ghunghat ke pat khol" and "Pag Ghunghru Baandh Meera Naachi Re," Juthika Roy carved a niche for herself in the hearts of many.
Her melodious renditions won the hearts of Hindi and Bengali cinema audiences alike, making her a celebrated figure in her time. Her voice captivated notable personalities, including Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, who were avid admirers of her work.
On the historic day of August 15, 1947, as Nehru journeyed from Teen Murti Bhavan to the Red Fort to mark India's independence, Roy's bhajans filled the air, broadcast live by All India Radio. After her performance, at Nehru's request, she continued to sing until the national flag was hoisted, adding a memorable soundtrack to a pivotal moment in India's history.
In her reflections, Roy shared an anecdote about Sarojini Naidu revealing how Gandhi found solace in her bhajans during his incarceration in Pune, making her music an integral part of his daily prayer meetings. She even had the honor of performing privately for Gandhi at his residence.
Embarking on her musical journey at just 12 years old with her first album, Roy was mentored by the renowned rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. Her collaborations with the esteemed Bengali music director Kamal Dasgupta, especially the revered Narayan stuti "Narayan Shriman Narayan," continue to resonate with listeners.
Roy's versatile talent extended beyond Hindi and Bengali, as she lent her voice to songs in various languages, including Urdu and Tamil.
On February 5, 2014, the music world lost this luminary in Kolkata after a long illness. As we commemorate her legacy, we hope for her soul to find everlasting peace.

Archenemy of false gurus
Those who have falsely claimed to be gurus have met their match in the form of Jaf, who is from a Muslim background and who is materially and spiritually empowered.
Vishwananda is also suffering from physical pains and is currently having to approach life as a normal person as opposed to being a celebrity which is a status he was aspiring to. Not having the support of Jaf who is empowered in a worldly way means that Vishwananda has been halted in finding an outlet of materially benefitting himself and Jaf is ensuring that Vishwananda faces his karmic journey which is a reassurance to all spiritual seekers who no longer have to fear being entrapped by someone falsely claiming to be a spiritual authority. Jaf is an instrument of Sri Sathya Sai Baba and as alluded to in my last post regarding the dream, the presence of Sri Sathya Sai Baba has exposed the false gurus. An instrument of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, in the form of Jaf, through his worldly power and the manifestation of his worldly power disempowered this group where Vishwananda was at the helm of by not supporting this group who were falsely claiming to be spiritual authorities. Because of the incarnation of Sri Sathya Sai Baba they have been disempowered as they had been reliant on Jaf who is Baba’s instrument to promote their actions and to their detriment he does not support them. Jaf is of Asian origins, is tall, handsome and fair in complexion as well as reflecting physical strength and being noticeably Asian in features and exudes charisma to all who see him that those who had falsely claimed to be gurus have worshipped not to mention perhaps most importantly that he is a representative of material power; it is safe to say that he has had a godlike status with this group. The true path of Kriya yoga is under direction of Baba as Lord Muruga. For those of you who are familiar with the man who has been known as Vishwananda, you would know that he is originally from Mauritius and set up a base in Germany and claiming to initiate people into Kriya yoga charged huge fees for this. Vishwananda was arrested in Switzerland a number of years ago for theft of relics from churches. Although Vishwananda is from Mauritius which is a developing country he failed to use his status to initiate social progress in Mauritius and failed to identify with problems in this country noting the plight of those from Diego Garcia who were forced to have refugee status in Mauritius having to leave their homes owing to a construction of a military base in Diego Garcia by America in alliance with Britain. Vishwananda also received some support from those originally from South Africa who were initially from an Islamic background and Jaf took special interest in this not to mention the South African connection to me as Vishwananda would go to regions where large groups of Muslims were based as in the Emirates and Qatar and claim to be Muslim with the intent of becoming materially wealthy also projecting the notion of stereotypes in such regions. Jaf shares a sense of humour with me where one of these men who had been supporting Vishwananda, originally from the Islamic background, was someone who was at the same university as me and it is with great humour that Jaf and I noted that this man, who was at the same university as me and a student there about the same time as me was, at an emotional level, in a scenario of being disempowered. Kriya yoga has been extolled by Babaji Nagaraj who is an incarnation of Lord Muruga and Kundalini awakening that being the awakening to one's spiritual power cannot take place without the direction of Lord Muruga. Sri Sathya Sai Baba has directed followers to worship Lord Muruga by having an image of Lord Muruga at Puttaparthi as well as through bhajans where the last bhajan is always dedicated to Lord Muruga. As mentioned through the presence of Sri Sathya Sai Baba these false gurus have been exposed.

 My area, my pride
Hey dudes! Here’s my writing about my area- Triplicane. Being born and brought up here, I have always been truly enamoured by this place. Take a walk through my area as you walk with me.
A typical person’s morning would start with waking up before the sun does. The birds join the melody of the creek of the gate when it is opened. You walk past a tea kada round the corner and the hot vapour hits your face. As you relish the aroma and walk in a trance, you will already be standing  near the Kannagi statue. A walk by the sea as you enjoy the sunrise, amidst the ethereal hues, towards your right, Parthasarathy  temple bhajans envelop the air, infusing it with divine vibrations. The distant resonance of the Wallajah mosque prayers adds to the harmony, creating a sublime tapestry of spirituality and serenity that uplifts my soul with every breath. A few steps towards the right and you will find yourself in the busiest market and the enchanting fragrance of the flowers……Deports you to the ethereal world.
“There is no place in this world warmer than our native land”. I am with a heart full of reverence and a voice brimming with pride as I write about a place that holds a special place in my heart – Triplicane, my area, my pride.
Nestled amidst the bustling city of Chennai, Triplicane stands as a testament to the beauty of tradition .Our neighbourhood is not just a geographical location; it's a harmonious blend of communities, languages, and beliefs that come together to create a vibrant mosaic.
Thiruvallikeni, derived from Thiru-Alli-Keni in Tamil, means 'Sacred Lily Pond.' This area is also known as Vrindaranyam in the Brahmanda Purana.
The heart of Triplicane beats with historical significance. The Parthasarathy Temple, an architectural marvel, stands tall as a beacon of spirituality and heritage. And towards your other hand lies a marvel, Built during the 18th century, the Wallajah mosque showcases a unique blend of Islamic and Indo-Saracenic architectural styles.
But it's not just the past that defines Triplicane; it's the people who breathe life into its streets. We are a community of resilience and unity.
The magnificent M.A Chidambaram Stadium stands as a coliseum of cricketing dreams, where the roar of passionate fans merges with the echoes of legendary clashes. Its hallowed grounds are a theatre of sporting epics, where each blade of grass holds the weight of history, and every cheer reverberates through time.
The Madras university and the Presidency college are another thing we are proud of. It has borne many great and renowned people. Imagine this place as a Hogwarts for geniuses, where legends like Abdul Kalam and Ramanujan once walked down the halls. The Big street boasts twin schools, one Hindu and the other Muslim, gracing its distant extremes.
In the heart of Triplicane, two sanctuaries of enlightenment stand as pillars of celestial wisdom. Bharathiyar Illam emanates the pulsating spirit of Subramanya Bharathi. And the Vivekananda House, a hallowed abode, echoes Swami Vivekananda's teachings, bridging the mortal realm with the ethereal.
Triplicane truly portrays unity in diversity in every possible way. Triplicane is like the lovechild of Ramzan and Diwali – it's all about sharing and caring. I mean, who else would eagerly await both biryani and sweets with the same excitement? It's like a food festival that never ends!
From the shopkeepers who greet us with warm smiles to the elderly who share their stories of yesteryears, Triplicane is more than just a collection of buildings – it's a family, a tapestry woven with threads of camaraderie.

Why use the Meditation Beads?
Meditation can be quite a tricky practice because the mind is like a naughty child.
By its very nature, the mind tends to wander off during the meditation practice. If ones energy is low at the time of meditation, falling asleep can result.
If the energy is too high, fantasy and distraction become the barriers. At such times, the mala provides the much needed anchor.
The mala beads are moved in rhythm with the breath and the mantra, so that both-sleep as well as excessive mental distraction-are prevented by this action upon the beads.
For wearing:
A personal mala is a wonderful accessory to meditation, which when used regularly with a personal mantra, absorbs the vibrations of the practice. It becomes like a close friend or a comfortable piece of clothing! How to Use? The mala is traditionally held in the right hand and used in two ways - in one method; the mala is hanging between the thumb and the ring (third) finger. The thumb is used to rotate the mala by one bead towards oneself with each repetition of the mantra. In the other method, the mala is hanging on any finger.Brilliant finish and very decorative. Here is a comparison of original "Raghupati Raghava" song from Nama Ramayana and Gandhi's distortion of it. Gandhi tampered with the famous Hindu prayer to suit his political interests. Tampered version which includes "Allah, Rahim" has been popularized by Indian secularists. Gandhi tampered with Hindu prayers to include "Allah, Rahim, Karim" and became a "Mahatma" for it. But even Gandhi knew what would have happened to him had he tampered with Islamic prayers/Shahada to include "Jai Varaha".He never touched them Indian secularism is one way street A very important point. Gandhi NEVER worshiped the Hindu deity Rama. As Gandhi himself made it very clear in his Ramanavami speech, Gandhi's Rama is not the Rama of Hindu scriptures. Gandhi's "Rama" is a monotheist formless God. Excerpt from Gandhi's Sabarmati speech,1928 To drive the point home, Gandhi even revealed that according to him, the Hindu God Rama of Hindu scriptures was not the "perfect one". The Hindu God Rama was just a "monster" Peace would not be attained through him. It would be attained only by worshiping monotheist formless one. So,the "Rama" of Gandhi was not the Hindu deity Rama. He was just a monotheist formless God who was also known by other names such as Allah, Rahim, Karim. Keeping this in mind, let us take a look at the lines which Gandhi pruned from the original "Raghupati Raghava" bhajan. Gandhi removed the line "सुंदर विग्रह मेघश्याम" clearly because physical description of Hindu God Rama as मेघश्याम did not go well with his monotheist formless God. Replaced it with "ईश्वर अल्लाह तेरो नाम" so as to clarify that his Rama had nothing to do with Hindu deity Rama. Gandhi removed गंगा तुलसी शालग्राम because of Shalagrama's association with Vaishnavism and Hindu rituals. Removed भद्रगिरीश्वर सीताराम as the line refers to Rama as Lord of Bhadrachalam. Bhandrachalam is Andhra Pradesh is the site where a great idol temple Lord Rama exists. #hinduism #hindiwriters #true #truehindu #indian #gandhi #raghupatiraghav #congresshataodeshbachao #nehru #british #savehindu #sanatan #ram #jaishriram #pkmkb #patriotism #saffron #fact #knowyourdharma #dharma #bringbacktrueindology https://www.instagram.com/p/Bxsk-7dHfxR/?igshid=1237rvf09m3z9

The Many Names of the Nameless God (Anami): A History of Simran Practice in the Sant Tradition (Path of the Masters), By James Bean
The Nameless God has been given many names over the centuries. There are countless Divine names used as mantras or sacred words of Remembrance in various schools of spirituality. In Dadu Panth, that sacred name of God at the highest level is Satya-Raam. The name Raam was very frequently mentioned in the hymns of Guru Kabir, Sant Namdev, and other classic Sants of India. Some receive a single Name, others a longer Guru Mantra phrase. Some are given "The Five Names" (panch naam) consisting of five holy names of God. These are revealed at the time of Initiation into Sant Mat or Shabd Yoga meditation. These same five names have been used for centuries in certain branches of Sant Mat connected with Kabir and Sant Dharam Das, Sant Dariya Sahib, Sant Tulsi Sahib, and Sant Radhasoami Sahib. Others have been given five Sufi names of God at the time of Initiation into Surat Shabd Yoga meditation. These five Sufi or Islamic names have the same essential meaning as the five Indian names used in some forms of Sant Mat, and, as with the Indian names, also correspond to five basic inner regions. (In one of the Jewish Gnostic paths of antiquity, a group known as the Sethians, there was also a five-named or panch naam mantra approach, only with five Hebrew names that have been found in Coptic texts of Egypt. Those were associated with certain heavenly regions: Harmoz-el, Oroia-el, Daveithai, El-eleth, and another word meaning, the "Self-Begotten One".) Others are given the name of the Most High God RADHASOAMI (Rad-Da-Swam-e, "Soul-Lord" or "Lord of the Soul"), associated with the Eighth Plane, to use in simran practice along one's journey though all of the various states and stages within during meditation. A few Sant Mat lineages use a two-syllabled sacred word revealed at the time of Initiation, and it represents a name for the Soundless One.
In the classic bhajans and banis of the Sants of India appear numerous names of God. One can read verses exhorting devotees to repeat many names of the Nameless, Soundless, Formless One:
"Repeat the Panch Naam (Five Names)". "Repeat the Guru Mantra". "Repeat the Name of Raam". "Repeat the Name of Satya Raam" "Repeat the Name of Radhaswami". "Repeat the Name of Hari". "Repeat the Name of Govinda". "Repeat the Name of Vitthala". "Repeat the Name of HOO (HU)".

Tributes to Juthika Roy, on the 5th death anniversary of the legendary bhajan singer. Hailed as the 'adhunik Meera' during the pre-Independence days, Juthika Roy was popular for her Meerabai bhajans like “Ghunghat ke pat khol” and “Pag Ghunghru Baandh Meera Naachi Re”. Juthika Roy sang for a number of Hindi and Bengali films and became very famous during her time. Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru both were known to be great fans of her melodious voice. When Nehru was on his way from Teen Murti Bhavan to Red Fort in Delhi to hoist the flag of an independent India on August 15, 1947, Roy's bhajans were being broadcast live on All India Radio (AIR). As she finished singing and was about to leave the station, AIR officials told Roy, then 27, Prime Minister Nehru wanted her to continue till he unfurled the flag. In an interview she had said that Sarojini Naidu had told her that Mahatma Gandhi used to listen to her songs everyday when he was jailed in Pune. "He used to start his prayer meeting every morning playing discs that played my bhajans," Juthika Roy had once said. Later on, she had privately performed for the Mahatma in his house. She had recorded her first album at the tender age of 12 and had famous rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam as her mentor. Juthika Roy sang many songs for the famous Bengali music director Kamal Dasgupta. The soulful Narayan stuti (hymn) “Narayan Shriman Narayan” recorded in her voice is still popular. Besides Hindi and Bengali, the singer had given her voice to a number of songs in other languages like Urdu and Tamil. Juthika Roy died on 5 February 2014 in Kolkata after a prolonged illness. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Evolution of Bollywood And Devotional Song Lyrics
Tumblr media
Music is an essential part of our lives. It can help us express our feelings and emotions such as anger, happiness, love, fear, etc. We are surrounded by Music throughout our daily life, such as when we are in the shower, getting ready, or even going to a restaurant. Music is a fantastic way to convey our feelings and help us get through difficult times.
Without a doubt, Hindi cinema has always been defined and redefined by primarily three things; Music, lyrics, and dance. The splendor and the magnificence of lyrics in Hindi movies, from time immemorial, has dazzled everyone in India. And Bollywood song lyrics have evolved over close to 100 years.
What makes Music even better for the listener is the lyrics. Lyrics are an essential part of a song, and they are the words that make up a song; they carry a message and convey it through melodious voices and notes. It’s no wonder many always check up the lyrics to the songs they love, whether they are Bollywood songs or devotional songs.
When one considers the lyrics of Hindi cinema in the 1950s, the words evocative, thought-provoking, and musical come to mind. The intellectual yet straightforward take on life and philosophy of that era permeates every song lyrics of that time. It was soothing and marvelous to the listening ears.
The legendary lyricists had a penchant for writing the best song lyrics of all time. They encapsulated every human emotion like love, pain, loss, celebration, pleasure, the effects of which reverberate even today if only you have the desire. They were singing legends like Lata Mangeshkar, Mukesh, Mohammed Rafi, Hemant Kumar, who brought the lyrics alive.
It is worthy of observing that songs became super hits during this generation. People loved movies, and at the same time, good songs mattered so much for the audience. The commercial part of movies now succeeded even with songs alone.
India is home to different religions, with each religion having its own devotional hymns. Whether an adult or a person in old age, everyone at some point of day wants to listen to devotional songs. Devotional songs lyrics are played in the festive season and devotional songs are played all year around. Listening to morning bhajan doesn't only bloom in the morning but also provides us with positive energy for the rest of the day. Listening to Bhakti Gana helps us to calm the mind so that the soul can open to the divine and allows the mind to taste the blissful reality of our true nature. Devotion is the most crucial aspect of Bhakti. Someone has rightly said that God stays in religious places, but he is everywhere. So, we can listen to God's songs anywhere. Many people feel relaxed after listening to Bhakti songs like Laxmi Aarti Lyrics. Every religion has different devotional songs like Hindus have bhajans, Muslims have Islamic Music, and Christians have Jesus songs. Many bhakti sangeets like Hanuman Chalisa Lyrics are also available on the internet today.
You may not understand the purpose of a devotional song without knowing the meaning of the words. It is easy to dance and nod to a song. But the words can bring a whole new positive vibe, energy, and spirituality. Thus, to enjoy a bhakti song, it’s best to take your time to know the Aigiri Nandini Lyrics, understand the words, and embrace the Music in its entirety.
Meanwhile, lyrics, be it Bollywood Lyrics or devotional song Lyrics, are not hard to find anymore.

Ideal gift item for loved ones on this Christmas and New Year.
