"Trains across Europe: City breaks in Rotterdam " De Unie Cafe'

Café De Unie is a building from 1925 designed by architect JJP Oud . In the design, Oud used the primary colors, sleek letters and rectangular shapes of De Stijl. The locals didn't react well to this ultra-modern design at the time, the cafe' was closed after just one year and the facade painted over in grey.

The original building was located on Calandplein and was destroyed in 1940. In 1986, a replica of the facade was built on the Mauritsweg.

Oud had in fact became internationally famous as a pioneer of modern construction. De Stijl had also become an art movement of international significance and Café de Unie is now considered an icon of modern architecture.

Licheń bez wątpienia wzbudza kontrowersje od początku swego powstania 🤔 Część osób przyjeżdża tu pielgrzymując do miejsca objawień, by pogrążyć się w zadumie. Natomiast inna część ludzi uważa, że Licheń w obecnym kształcie nigdy nie powinien powstać. A jakie jest Wasze zdanie? Abstrahując od kwestii religijnych, Licheń jest intrygujący z kilku powodów: ✅ jego historia sięga epoki kamiennej ✅ tędy przebiegał szlak bursztynowy ✅ nad licheńskim jeziorem stała pogańska świątynia ✅ stąd pochodzi powiedzenie „licho nie śpi” ✅ pobliski las był miejscem objawień nigdy nie uznanych przez papiestwo ✅ Bazylika w Licheniu architektonicznie związana jest między innymi z kalendarzem My do Lichenia wybraliśmy się trochę z ciekawości 🕵 a trochę z chęci odnalezienia w tym miejscu mistycyzmu. Uznaliśmy, że choć raz Licheń warto zobaczyć, by wiedzieć czy sanktuarium w Licheniu to miejsce, które do nas trafia. Niestety duchowo do nas nie trafiło, co nie zmienia faktu, że było interesująco do tego stopnia, że zrobiliśmy o nim film i napisaliśmy artykuł na blogu, w których zawarliśmy nasze spojrzenie na Licheń. Paris holds a dark underground tourist destination “the Catacombs” 👻. #thecatacombs of #paris is one of the popular stops of anyone visiting the city. The catacombs is a very interesting dark side of the so called #cityoflove ❤️ . They house at least 6 million people, with bones arranged in a “ornamental” way, that reach around 200 miles of tunnels. If you come to Paris and want to visit this #interestingplace, make sure to go early. They open from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm everyday. The lines can be absurd, so go early to avoid crowds. #traveltip You can buy the tickets online and avoid lines, but is more expensive than buying tickets at the ticket office. The price online is €29 euros compared to the €13 at the ticket office. The temperature is around 14C or 57 Fahrenheit, so it can be a little cold. #travelfacts The catacombs are 60ft down and you will have 112 steps to go down and 131 steps to go up, just be mindful of that.
