Golden Wildfire Ch 15 (Final)
Guys, I think this is finally it, the last chapter
MAIN STORY
We're . . . not going to get an answer about Shez, are we? Would I if I recruited Byleth?
Which, now that I think about it, that was really anticlimatic death.
Also, Claude wants Dimitri and Faerghus to survive, but Rhea to die. Edelgard doesn't want Dimitri and Faerghus to survive, but also wants Rhea to die. So why the hell is Claude letting Edelgard right Dimitri while he fights Rhea? What's stopping Edelgard from killing Dimitri and taking all the Faerghus land she desperately wants? He knows Rhea was only an excuse for her.
I guess just another "Claude is an idiot" point or the writers not giving a single shit about him or this route and only caring about Dimitri and Edelgard.
Claude is suddenly reading Dimitri's mind. He thinks Dimitri wants him to dissolve the central church. This is . . . beyond stupid. Claude is literally imagining the enemy wants he wishes the enemy would want. This is such a stupid thing to do in war. Dimitri has never showed signs of wanting the church dissolved.
Also, blaming all of Fodlan's problems on Rhea is so dumb and such childish thinking too.
They really were like, go Claude, we'll give you nothing! in the writer's room.
If I cared about Claude, I'd be livid. I doubt many Dimitri or Edelgard fans are upset though.
Man, the character list is so much smaller in this route.
MAP/SIDE BATTLES
So annoyed this one has a bunch of side quests. I'm sooooo close to finishing this game.
Aww, an Alliance NPC talked about how much she likes Seteth and hopes he survives.
Ouch! Yuri! When he questions the validity of Claude's plans, Shez assures him it's the only way to pave the future, and he has the audacity to say "I guess now isn't the time to be wondering who exactly is included in this future we're dreaming about." He's calling Claude out on his shit big time. Yuri just does not fit here.
Ashe keeps talking about Dimitri. He's miserable.
Hapi doesn't want to kill Rhea :(
Ohhh, interesting, so Raphael doesn't like how we've been fighting. Shez can agree or disagree. I agreed in both SB and GW. In GW, she says their actions are too haphazard, but in SB, she says they're being too brutal and not letting anyone surrender. Curious differences (ofc Raphael just wants to eat and party, that's what he disagrees with, it's Shez's perceptions that made me interested).
Gilbert and Dimitri talking. Dimitri arriving has boosted moral. But it's the same for his enemies.
Dimitri's concerned about Rhea and learns that they're prepared for battle. Dimitri can't help them :(
Dimitri ordered his citizens to evacuate because he's worried about what the Alliance will do, but isn't convinced Claude wants to destroy his Kingdom.
I love Dimitri doubling down on protecting his people above all else here. Gustave is upset about abandoning Rhea. Dimitri is too, but he's willing to be the bad guy if it saves a single life in Faerghus.
A side mission involved defeating Cyril :( And now Flayn :(
SHEZ & RAPHAEL A
Soldiers are happier. Shez can guess war turning in our favor or pay raise.
If you ever needed proof that Raphael is an idiot, he argues that wouldn't make sense because not everyone is motivated by money. Like, seriously, tell me a single soldier there who gives a flying shit about what some king says. The only route this wouldn't be true in is AG since they're fighting for their lives.
Anyways, it's actually the food.
Shez talks about how a good meal rather than scapes is a good motivator. And honestly, good point.
Raphael talks about being an innkeeper. Honestly, he'd be such a fun boss to have, but he'll need to hire someone to handle the logistics lol.
Raphael asks Shez to tag along. I can either be nice and agree or not make promises. Being mean to Raphael is basically bullying.
Shez either way still considers being a mercenary, but I love the idea of Shez and Raphael running an inn together.
LYSITHEA & RAPHAEL A
Wonder why they choose Lysithea of all people to reach A with Raphael.
She studied too long and is out after dark, so obviously scared. She tries to convince herself the weird noises is Raphael.
But it's not this time, bc he shows up and asks what's the creepy noise lol. Poor Lysithea.
Now she's properly freaked out. Poor girl.
It's probably just a cat, but she thinks it's a ghost.
Lysithea goes to investigate too or else she'll be alone.
I guessed wrong. It's a puppy, not a cat. Poor doggy is hungry, and Raphael knows the dog.
Lysithea is like, if you knew the dog, how come you didn't know that? lol.
HILDA & DOROTHEA B
A fan gave Dorothea a bracelet, and she appreciates the support. Hilda wishes she had one too.
Dorothea tells Hilda no one is better in the whole army at makeup and accessories.
The support addresses how Hilda makes her own accessories.
Dorothea talks about plant design trends. So like real life lol.
Hilda asks Dorothea about her makeup. She tries to stick for ones that are actually good for the body. Which, is really good considering what they used to use for makeup.
They want to keep chatting over tea.
Honestly, I love seeing two girls just chat about girly things without anyone putting it down.
It's nice, in general, how the Fodlan games don't put down the women who are really into fashion and the ones who don't care. Everyone is allowed to just exist, and it's great.
LYSITHEA PARALOGUE
Does she get her own because her paired up one is in SB?
She apologizes to Count Glouster for all the chaos Ordelia causes, but he apologizes for not taking care of it. She understands how important it is for him to protect the bridge.
Her father is buddies with Lorenz's father.
Shez comes with news about Ordelia under attack.
No one else can help. Lysithea says she didn't realize how Claude could be so cruel. Shez tries to defend him by saying she's all the way out here, and Lysithea claps back. Team Lysithea here.
Shez thought Count Glouster would we dead weight. She was right. Idiot almost died. Shez and Lysithea were fine.
He looks forward to the day both aren't leaders anymore so they can just be friends and thinks Lysithea would be a worthy heir :( Poor Lysithea, she faltered at that.
Glouster did nothing to help Lysithea's father because he led the pro-Empire nobles.
MARIANNE & YURI A
Yuri sees Marianne out late and worried that she was going to leave like she thought about, but she was just walking her horse.
Then we get the classic "..." and "..." response. Since the ye ole days characters have done that in FE supports.
Marianne is like, why were you worried, then goes off how she's just a burden, and Yuri is like stop that, now.
Yuri is allergic to horses and cats? :((( Poor guy. That would suck.
That's why he was always giving Marianne funny looks, because he was about to sneeze and she's always around horses, lamo.
It's nice seeing Yuri be nice. But if he was mean to Marianne, like how can you be mean to Marianne?
Yuri dreams of being able to spent time with the animals he's allergic too, so he accepts Marianne's offer to use magic to try to help. I hope it works.
HILDA & DOROTHEA A
Hilda is trying to figure out what's wrong with one of her accessories. She thinks it's missing something.
Dorothea offers to help out, and is really impressed with Hilda's craftsmanship. And honestly, there's a picture and it looks pretty.
Hilda likes Dorothea's suggestion.
Dorothea also offers to buy the accessories for the opera, and use that to advertise them too.
Hilda is more than happy with that suggestion.
Hilda actually wants to open her own school to teach people craftsmanship, and thinks she can partner with Dorothea on that too.
MARIANNE & IGNATZ A
A pegasus that Ignatz was helping said "bring me more hay, four eyes." to Ignatz, Marianne interpreted. She rightly called it rude lamo.
Ignatz used to ride pegasus with his mother, she used to be a pegasus knight. I wonder if that's why he wants to be a knight.
He was really impressed with the view, understandably.
It made him want to become a pegasus knight, but they're sexist lol. Women only.
That's why he wants to help with the pegasi so much, it's the closest he can get.
Marianne is like "I can feel your feelings in the paintings" and Ignatz freaks out until she keeps going and saying she can tell how much he loves pegasi. I wonder what he was so worried about . . .hmm . . . Liking Marianne just proves taste though.
Marianne thinks that maybe the pegasus will accept Ignatz. But I don't think it went well lol. She grabbed his clothing with her teeth, not on her back. OMG, poor Ignatz.
It ends with Ignatz begging for Marianne's help lamo.
MAIN (& FINAL) BATTLE
Alright, guys, this is it. 2/3 done once this battle is over. Sadly, I'll probably have to kill Rhea though. But who knows, she got to be the hero of SB in the end, maybe GW too, or is that asking too much?
Rhea's like I should've killed these bitches years ago (rather than protecting them after turning her genocided family into weapons, poor woman has seen some shit).
Rhea thinks she'll have the goddesses' protection. Too bad Sothis is dead :(
It seems like Rhea is expecting to die. She's telling Seteth and Flayn to run. And saying her time is at an end.
It's funny that Rhea also thinks she's fighting for the future and humanity because she thinks she knows what's best. She and Edelgard (and Claude in this route) are really the same. Then there's Dimitri, the only sane one who doesn't have a bloated ego that thinks he knows best for every living soul in Fodlan, in some case, without ever even talking to some people from a particular country (looking at you, Edelgard, ding dong thinks she can rule Faerghus better than Dimitri without ever even having bothered to TALK to someone from Faerghus).
OK, so why did Edelgard only get 40 points, but Claude gets 70?
OMG, one of Claude's tactics is to burn the enemies alive (elite archers turn enemies into ash, not sure how else to see that).
I don't want to kill Cyril two times in one night :( Thankfully, he retreated.
Great, now Alois is here, claiming he'll fight to the death, which seems major OOC even with Rhea under attack. This game really forgot that he had a family, didn't it? I think he, Claude, and Caspar got the biggest downgrades in writing.
Oh, shit, he died for real. And he mentioned his family this time.
I had to fight Seteth too, but he retreated, thankfully.
DON'T MAKE ME KILL MERCEDES!!!!
Oh, fuck, Cyril died :((( God.
Jeritza came to save his sister :(((( So he turned against the Empire in GW. That's kinda touching, much better than in Houses. Seems Mercedes is now flipping, better than having to kill her like poor Cyril and Alois.
Now I have to fight Flayn :( Thankfully, she withdrew.
Now I have to fight Seteth and Flayn again, but on the upside, Rhea did badass magic and took away my captured strongholds.
I'm not clear if Flayn died or retreated, but Seteth is pissed off at me.
Oh, thank God, they're both running away.
Time to kill Rhea :(
Cut scene time. Wow, Claude, that's rich. He's telling Rhea to go walk away. But, to like where? The guy's been hell bent on killing her and blaming her for everything from racism to arranged marriage this entire game?
Why the random flower getting crushed? Usually that's a sign of crushed renewal, not a brand new world like Claude's been blowing smoke about this whole route.
Lololol Idiot just realized Rhea's the Immaculate One.
Lamo, even in the final battle Marianne's not convinced Claude not coo coo for coco puffs.
More cut scene. Shez and Claude killing Rhea. Shez turned into Arval. Wonder what happens if you recruit Byleth.
This was such a watered-down version of SB's final battle. They both had Rhea as a final boss, but SB got Thales too and it was A LOT harder because of that. Either that or Lorenz is really that silly stupid good.
Another abrupt, non-ending.
Claude wanted the war to end, and shock of all shock, killing Rhea didn't work!!! The idiot. All those people died, for nothing. I also predict greedy assholes will still enforce hierarchies and be racist, even without Rhea.
This ending may have been even worse than SB's? Because at least Edelgard still has a goal she's working towards, it just cut off mid-way. Claude accomplished his and nothing changed - he only made the world worse.
Are either GW or SB better endings if you get Byleth? I'm betting that's what happens. Because that can't be the real ending, lol.
MVP time. Wonder when it'll turn into the Lorenz show. As soon as Ch 5, pretty much no one but Lorenz got MVP. He's just absurd, but in a boring way. He's invulnerable to damage, but doesn't play very fun. If I ever did GW again, I'd main Lysithea. She's a unit type I like way more, hella strong and fast, but low defense. Lorenz made GW super boring to play since I didn't have to think at all. He's that good of a unit.
It's funny seeing nothing but Lorenz's face on an endless scroll (except paralogues or like, women units only battles)
I can't believe I'm getting a letter from Lorenz. If I knew I'd get a letter, I would've picked a character I actually liked, like Marianne. Hubert's letter was better. Lorenz's was really generic.
Still pissed there's no paired endings.
And these endings are so bad, wtf. I'm glad I did this twice so I know AG is also just going to randomly end.

Flayn's Instruction
Read it here on ao3!
A grin spreads across Flayn’s lips as she watches the students file in. They seem tired; midterm season was particularly gruesome this year, leaving even Flayn exhausted to her core. But it’s a new day, and with a new day, it means she can share more stories with the teenagers that take their places, their tired eyes glancing between their professor sitting on her desk and their study material. She watches as the last of them file in, the bell ringing as the doors of other classrooms shut. It’s going to be an interesting period.
Flayn hops down from her desk, bringing her hands together and redirecting the attention on her. Phones are dropped to the bottom of bags and pencil cases; all eyes are on her. She’s ready to put on a show, a fun class that might cheer up the sleepy eyes before her.
“So today we’re going to be talking more about the Great Fódlan War! Who can tell me what it’s about, in broad terms?”
Glances are exchanged amongst the students before a few shy hands come up. Flayn is happy to call upon her students, encouraging them as they give her bits of the right answer.
“Correct! It’s when the Empire lead a rebellion against the Church of Seiros! Anything else?”
A few more bits of information are handed to her: Edelgard von Hresvelg was the leader of the Empire rebellion, the victors were the army lead by Claude von Riegan, the first ruler of Fódlan was Byleth Eisner. The answers come more confidently as Flayn shows her excitement for every raised hand; it’s how she likes to teach, reinforcing her students’ participation. And knowing that they show even the slightest of interest in her class, well, what more could she ask for?
“Alright, so now that we refreshed ourselves on the basic of this war, we’re going to talk a bit more about the victors of the war: King Claude and Quen Byleth. And while I could go on and on about how they gained the high grounds against Empress Edelgard and King Dimitri, I think you’re all a little too tired for that this morning.” A smile pulls at the corners of Flayn’s mouth as she pushes herself back up onto her desk. “Who wants to hear about the relationship that united Claude and Byleth instead? It won’t be on your exam, but it’s a great fun fact if ever you want to tell someone a nice little anecdote from the past.”
There’s little that brings Flayn as much joy as watching the eyes of her students turn to sparkles. She loves watching the heads go up before being put back down on the desks, attentive ears turned to her. What more can a professor ask for?
“In that case, how about I start with the betrothal?” Grins appear like the first spring daisies. “In that case, we go back a thousand years, back to 1187, a few months after the war has ended…”
---
Byleth’s chest heaves as she watches the last of the enemies fall. It’s over. It’s finally over. Or at least, it’s over for now. For now, there will be a semblance of peace. For now, there is no one else that opposes Byleth’s reign. Which means…
Her smile grows as she watches the horizon. He’s right there. He’s so close. Byleth can almost feel him, his touch, his loving embrace. He’s right there, his wyvern flipping in the sky against the pinks and the purples and the oranges of the setting sun. He’s right there, so beautiful. He’s right there, finally back, just as he had promised.
Relief washes over Byleth as the shadow grows larger, the white wyvern making its way straight to her. She never thought she’d be this happy to see the giant beast, though saying her excitement was for it alone would be a lie. What truly has Byleth’s head reeling is the prospect of finally seeing him, the one who had promised to be back all those months ago. Claude, he’s finally back.
He’s gorgeous as he stumbles off of his mount. His smile, it reaches his eyes, something it didn’t use to do. And his eyes, so green, so beautiful, they crease at the corner from the happiness. And his lips, well… They find their way home in a kiss that Byleth is more than happy to return.
She never had envisioned their reunion to go like this. She had always thought he would walk back into the monastery one day, happy to announce that his work was done. It had always been a peaceful reunion in Byleth’s mind; it had never crossed her mind that it would come with more bloodshed. And yet, this feels perfect for them. The cuts and scrapes against her body still ache, and the blood that stains her skin feels crusty, but it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter because Claude is back. It doesn’t matter because Claude is here, kissing her under the sunset. Nothing matters; only Claude matters.
“Took you long enough.”
He smiles into yet another kiss, this one slower and more careful than the last three. This one, it tastes like love and victory. This one, it tastes exactly the way Byleth remembers their kisses to be. This one, it tastes the way every kiss from Claude should; it tastes like forever.
“I’m sorry I couldn’t become the king of Almyra any sooner. I’ll be faster next time it happens.”
A hand flies up to cover the snort that escapes Byleth. Her face falls against Claude’s chest as she openly laughs, something that has never happened before. And as Claude’s arms wrap around her, she feels safer than she ever has. Claude, how she missed his presence.
“Teach?”
Byleth hums, not bothering to lift her head away from Claude. She’s too comfortable there. He’s warm and safe; he’s finally home. And as his fingers cup her cheek, Byleth can’t help lean her weight into him. How is she supposed to leave the here and now? How is she supposed to risk losing him all over again? Though she knows this isn’t a dream, she can’t risk it. She can’t risk opening her eyes and watching him leave once more.
The kiss to her cheek is what it takes for Byleth’s eyes to flutter open. And they open to green; Claude isn’t gone, disappearing with the setting sun. He’s there, for real. He’s there, for her. He’s there, and by the sounds of it, all their friends are there too.
A content smile pulls at the corners of Byleth’s lips as she turns to the crowd that has started to form. First, it’s Hilda and her cheers. She screams louder than Byleth’s ever heard her scream as she jumps up and down. Then there’s Lorenz and his gasps. He seems surprised, but he soon eases himself into a content smile and a congratulatory nod. And then there’s Raphael and Leonie, both cheering, one shouting congratulations, the other screaming near obscenities. Not far off, there’s Lysithea, her mouth agape. She’s pointing at both Claude and Byleth, yet no words manage to leave her lips. And finally, there’s Marianne and Ignatz, both silently smiling at the pair. Everyone is there; the Golden Deer are finally back together.
“Claude! Why didn’t you tell me you and the professor were an item? I thought we were closer than that!”
Hilda grins as she dramatically leans against Lorenz, looking ready to faint. Of course, he catches her, though not without a bit of reticence. Lorenz, he’s never been good with Hilda’s antics. He’s always been too polite to play along with her. And yet, as the years go on, he seems to be more exasperated than uncomfortable with the girl. Perhaps that’s what happens when a group of people spend so much time with one another.
Claude grins at the rest of the group, but not without pressing another kiss to Byleth’s cheek. He wants to drive home that she’s his and that nothing can keep him away from her any longer. Or maybe he likes the attention, from Hilda’s squeals to Lysithea’s gags to Lorenz’s groans. Maybe he likes that everyone is back together, though this time in far less threatening circumstances.
“You’re so gross, Claude! Literally no one wants to see you doing,” Lysithea gestures in his and Byleth’s direction, “that. Like get a room or whatever.”
“I mean if—”
Byleth couldn’t help the smile that grows at the corners of her mouth as she smooths out her coat sleeve, which seemed to have magically smacked Claude in the face. And he laughs along; he always laughs along, but this time, his laughter is genuine. This time, Byleth knows he’s happy.
“Okay, okay, I guess I should make this official in front of everyone.”
Byleth’s head turns as Claude takes her hand in his. His smile, it’s soft, and it’s gentle. His eyes, they sparkle just as they did all those months ago, though this time, tears don’t well up at the corners of either of their eyes. This time, they’re not placed in a dire situation, one where even the happiest of outcomes left them in tears. This time, it’s real happiness.
She doesn’t resist as Claude turns her towards him. Byleth lets him take the lead on this; she needs a break from being the leader. And by the way he’s looking at her, she knows what comes next.
“Byleth Eisner, my Love who has already said yes to me all those months ago, my Love who has provided us with a new peaceful, happy world, will you do me the honor of being my queen and marrying me?”
Clapping and cheering echoes in Byleth’s ears as she pulls Claude in for a kiss. Of course she accepts; she’s already waited too long for his return. And as Claude lifts her from the ground, she can’t help but grin into the kiss. This, this is what true happiness feels like. It’s being surrounded by friends. It’s getting to live in a peaceful world. It’s being in the arms of the man she loves more than anyone else. This is happiness; Byleth is sure of it.
---
Small smiles pull at the corners of Flayn’s students as she wraps up her story. It did them some good to have spent a class not taking notes, but just listening to a story of Flayn’s choosing. She knows better than to make every class a potential exam question, facts memorized and regurgitated. Sometimes, kids just need a moment to learn without the expectation of repeating the facts exactly as they have been told.
She watches as her students get up from their chairs, stretching a little before filing out of her classroom. And Flayn grins as a few students come to her, prodding her for more details. She happily fills them in, though not without keeping a few of the information to herself.
Where did she get that story? Where can they read it for themselves? Well, Flayn tells them she had come across it during her university days, back when she was a student who had travelled to the ancient capital of Derdriu. The exact source, she can’t recall, but she’ll be sure to tell them if she finds it somewhere.
Why was it she seemed so familiar with people who had lived a thousand years ago? Well, that’s simple. She’s spent so much time on the subject, they almost seem like friends to her. She’s read so much about them, seen so much art about the victors of the Great Fódlan War; she can’t help but talk about them as if she were acquainted with them.
Did Claude and Byleth have children? Did they get to live happily ever after? That, Flayn has no troubling answering. She has no problem smiling as she nods: they did have children of their own, and they did get to live a happy life together, though not without their disagreements. Claude and Byleth, they were both headstrong, though it is said that the King more often than not conceded to his wife out of pure love and devotion. The only thing she could never win against him was the way wyverns were trained, not that she had any intention of correcting him on his way of treating the beasts.
But for more stories about the King of Almyra and the Queen of Fódlan, they would have to wait for another class with Flayn. Until then, she ushered them to their next class, reminding them of their upcoming reading assignment. Until the next time Flayn could tell them stories about Claude and Byleth, or perhaps of their friends, her students would have to get through their other classes.
It wouldn’t be long before Flayn would tell another story of her friends, not that anyone had to know that she had been there, standing behind everyone as horror and beauty filled Fódlan, during its destruction and its rebirth.

My Analysis of the Best Paired Endings in 3H (Part 11: Flayn/Seteth)
Tumblr media
Flayn: Even if it cannot last, I want to live among my peers as one of them—as an ordinary person. Similar to how you and Mother coexisted with your own comrades back then, fighting side by side. Seteth: Quite right. I know you must leave the nest someday. No matter how many ages our lives may span, I know that's the way of it.
The Crest of Cethleann is associated with The Lovers arcana. Flayn was Seteth's entire reason for living. But she wanted to grow up and gain more independence after living in isolation for so long. She was interested in boys and didn't want her father constantly interfering.
Tumblr media
Manuela: Say, Seteth. Have you ever considered remarrying? You know, just so you're not alone? Seteth: It is not a thought that has ever crossed my mind. I have been too preoccupied with fatherhood. Manuela: It's been a long time since your wife passed, right? You should start thinking about it. There could be someone who finds you handsome. Someone close by. Maybe even right in front of you. Seteth: Whatever you said just now, I didn't quite hear. But to remarry—I'd never even considered it an option until you brought it up just now.
While finding Seteth a wife might seem like a good solution, he only considered remarrying when Manuela suggested it. And he only considered it because Flayn would not be by his side forever.
Tumblr media
Seteth: It reminds me how deeply I appreciate those years… and how I wish I could return to them. Flayn: We cannot turn back the clock, Father. We must live our lives fully, in the present moment. Seteth: You're right. That is what she always said, isn't it? Dwell too much on the past, and you may be unable to move forward.
While I do think he needed to give Flayn more independence, I think it is better that he takes more time to move on from his wife's death instead of rushing into a relationship just to not be alone. I don't think he was ready to remarry anyone for a long time yet.
Tumblr media
Byleth & Seteth Byleth took on the role of archbishop of the Church of Seiros, and Seteth continued in his position of adviser. As they set about the grand task of restoring Fódlan and the church, Seteth's strictness combined with the archbishop's magnanimity won the faithful over easily. Their personalities complemented one another perfectly in keeping church operations smooth. When Fódlan returned to stability, they finally announced their marriage, to the shock and delight of the people. The faithful considered themselves truly blessed to be guided by such a pair.
In most of Seteth's paired endings, he will dedicate himself to the restoration of the church and its authority. His paired ending with Byleth even mentions his strictness in his leadership position.
Seteth (Solo) Seteth remained at the monastery and worked to restore the authority of the Church of Seiros. Doing away with his old strictness, he adopted a tolerant stance toward all. His encouragement of believers to respect those of other faiths helped the people of Fódlan to find common ground with others.
However, his solo ending describes him as doing away with his old strictness and adopting a tolerant stance towards all and encouraging his followers to respect other faiths.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Flayn: Father, I have been wondering something. Is it truly so difficult for the people of Fódlan to live in peace? The world would be a much happier place if everyone could live in harmony with each other... Seteth: I know. I feel the same. But so do the majority of those risking their lives in this war. That is why I believe a peaceful future awaits us, beyond this dreadful conflict. That is the reason I fight. And so you do not have to. Flayn: Father… Seteth: If I lose you, I would lose the very meaning of my life. And so, we will always be together. Flayn: Come now, Father… Please try to understand that I cannot stay with you forever. I will grow up eventually. Though I do promise to refrain from any unnecessary recklessness. And until that day comes, I will always be with you. Besides which, I am certain Mother would be cross with me if I left you all alone. Seteth: I understand. Thank you…Flayn.
From the very beginning, Seteth's purpose was to create a peaceful world, particularly for his daughter. In their paired ending, Flayn leaves the monastery, and he stays behind at first to finish his work before eventually leaving to join her. So even if he isn't ready for her to leave his side for good, he has at least decided to give her more independence. Which shows the growth of their relationship, as well as significant character development on his part.
Tumblr media
Hubert: Those with power must use it wisely. Is that not a teaching of the Church of Seiros? It's absurd to preach to others what you cannot practice yourself. Byleth: You're absolutely right. Hubert: Yes. It is our humanity that pushes us to step up and take the lead should the need arise. That is not the case for inhuman creatures with lifespans well beyond our own. We must fight to preserve what makes us human.
I do agree with Edelgard and Hubert that it was better for Rhea and Seteth to step down from a position of authority. They did not always use their power wisely. But I disagree that it was because Rhea, Seteth, and Flayn lacked "humanity".
A recurring theme in 3H was that humanity is based on behavior, not species. Byleth's arc was about regaining their humanity. They used to cut people down without emotion until they spent time with the students. They did not lose their humanity when they merged with Sothis. Dimitri's arc was about reclaiming his humanity by becoming a person who can reach out his hand rather than kill. And Claude's arc was about how people often dehumanize those of other races.
Tumblr media
Seteth: If something were to happen to you, it would utterly destroy me. You are my reason for breathing. Do you understand? Flayn: I…I understand. If something were to happen to you, it would break my heart. I could not go on either.
Despite their long lifespans, the Nabateans were just as capable of empathy and grieving loss as any human.
I am sorry, Rhea. I fear we must return to a life in hiding. I detest that person with all my heart. However, Flayn's life is more important to me than all else. I pray that you will one day be free from the burden of your work…
It was Seteth's humanity—his fear of losing his daughter—that led him to step down and begrudgingly leave Fódlan in Byleth's hands.
Tumblr media
Scholar: It's normal for history to be revised in favor of those who hold the power. The documents in this library are no exception. It's perfectly possible for someone to have made edits to them. But it's my belief that no one has the power to blot out the truth entirely. I like to read the same texts over and over again. That way, I can spot some of the truths hidden between the lines…
I've seen many fans claim that every route in FE3H leads to a golden age. But I'm not so sure that's actually true. There is a certain scholar who appears in the library and only says the above quote in CF. He points out how history is revised by those who hold power, and you have to look for the truth hidden between the lines.
Tumblr media
Narrator: Embracing her newfound power, Edelgard could at last set about destroying Fodlan's entrenched system of nobility and rebuild a world free from the tyranny of Crests and status.
I'm not so sure that CF's ending text was something the player was supposed to simply take at face value. Especially when you consider the authoritarian imagery that accompanies the narration, the fact that nobility still exists in the other endings, as well as the director's interview stressing how "history is at the end of the day the victor's privilege and nothing else".
Tumblr media
Mila: Edelgard, your strength and resolve will surely bear you fruit in a world reborn by your hand. But I can't help but wonder what kind of world will grow from the ruin of what came before. I only hope you do not regret your world once you've built it...
Because Seteth and Flayn are banished/killed in CF, I couldn't get their paired ending and had no way of knowing whether Edelgard really brought lasting peace or if she just used her power as supreme ruler to alter history in her favor.
Seteth & Flayn Flayn disappeared shortly after the war, but Seteth remained at the monastery as the Archbishop's assistant, working towards restoring the authority of the Church. The former strictness gave way to a more lenient approach in all matters, as the management policy shifted. Seteth relentlessly pursued reforms in doctrine that were in line with the times, ensuring clarity for the faithful before leaving the monastery. Centuries later, in a completely transformed Fódlan, a couple dressed in old-fashioned attire appeared. The woman asked the man beside her, "In this era, is it acceptable to address you as 'father'?" The man replied, "Wouldn't 'brother and sister' be more natural after all?"
Seteth's ending with Flayn is similar to his solo ending, but it goes a step further. It says he left the monastery when he was satisfied his message of tolerance had been received. And unlike in CF, he chooses to leave of his own free will. That's why it's the best ending for his character arc. He no longer feels the need to stay in a position of authority over humanity. He has completed his purpose and created a safe world for his daughter.
This ending might be the best ending in the whole game for Fódlan. It is the ONLY ending that states that it is a drastically different place several centuries in the future. It is significant that the Flayn/Seteth ending is not written from a historian's perspective, like most endings. Because they apparently went into hiding once again, their ending is from the perspective of living eyewitnesses.

OK, up to the coronation (aka route split), but I couldn't include the coronation notes without hitting char limit.
I don't actually have too much to say here, since it's just the Kronya stuff, which... doesn't really reveal much. I'll just note that Kronya's sword has her as "Disciple Kronya" which I guess is interesting.
Since there's nothing else, I guess there's the point regarding what people know about each other going into the big part one finale:
Solon referred to Byleth as "Fell Star" already when casting Zahras, so the Agarthans had cottoned on about Byleth's situation at least in part, likely due to the Sword of the Creator.
As mentioned before, Edelgard and Hubert know that Demonic Beasts can be created artificially, and I would even say that some artificial ones already exist.
It is mentioned by several characters that Byleth's minty green color is "familiar" or "like someone else" and Flayn even directly says they match now. This is a super easy connection to make.
Seteth seems to not know that Agarthans can shapeshift, which works with Thales not wanting Kronya's body to be taken so that the specifics of their shapeshifting aren't discovered. iirc Seteth does obliquely refer to the Agarthans as being the likely culprits.
The Flame Emperor and the Death Knight being antagonists is at least known to Dimitri even though he theoretically wasn't around for the missions when we see them. Monica being an imposter is common knowledge after the fact. You doing a ceremony to receive a revelation from the goddess is common knowledge.
Anyway, the most interesting part starts after this.
Live blogging notes:
The Blue Sea star is not visible in winter. I kind of headcanon it as a planet in the same solar system, not an actual star in a different star system, but it being visible Jul to Dec and then invisible the rest of the year matches more with actual stars.
Alois doesn't like it when you blush at him lol
Alois has a wife and daughter???
Linhardt: I hate blood and killing :( (is friends with Hubert somehow)
Manuela: you need 13 charm to win; Sylvain: has 21 (albeit after the +5)
Full names: Alois Rangeld, Manuela Casagranda, Shamir Nevrand
The contestants are Sylvain (from me, because I think he's cute), Dimitri (who forced him into this?? he's so desperate NOT to get picked and yet??), and Raphael (Claude apparently showing his sense of humor).
I do not understand why the "dance competition" is doing waltz movements... alone. Especially when the dancer outfit is like that...? That's not a waltz outfit. And why are they dancing alone?! Listen, I've only seen AMVs of dancing animes but, it was definitely way cooler.
Shamir votes for Dimitri lol
You know, when GD made the promise to meet in 5 years, it was kind of cute. Not terribly meaningful, since their relationships were quite casual on the whole, but cute. Having Edelgard suggest it, knowing what she's planning barely months from now, is...... it's pretty messed up. It doesn't help that the Eagles don't really have a sense of camaraderie either.
Same cinematic for the ball. It was kind of one thing when Claude takes you by the hand and pulls you onto the dance floor (?) in GD, though the focus on Edelgard and Dimitri was pretty pointless, but here, it's just weird.
It's vaguely annoying that you can't choose who you meet at the Goddess Tower. I got Marianne on GD, and I got Ashe here... presumably because I recruited him by getting his B rank.
The chapel is within the monastery's walls.
OK, poking at the Demonic Beasts in the chapel, they are "Experimental Demonic Beasts" with "A shard from a shattered Crest Stone" embedded in their foreheads. They are a "more resilient variation." Although this won't be unique to them, they're also labelled as both "monsters" (unnatural beings wielding magic) and "dragons" (born or descended from the goddess herself).
There are 4 beasts and 3 students in trouble.
Jeralt suggests that the students being turned into beasts has "something to do with Remire," but I have come to doubt that Remire was a test run or directly related to the same research. The timeline is just too tight, and the Sothis paralogue won't make sense.
Bye, Jeralt (again).
Thales tells Kronya she must survive because there's a role he needs her to fulfil, but then Solon will kill her in like a month. In a scene later, he says that his only aim was actually to keep the mystery of their bodies from being revealed, which would happen if Kronya died (her body could be taken by the Church, I guess).
Worth noting that Seteth is very confused about Tomas and clearly does not know that Agarthans can shapeshift.
The explanation for why Byleth accepts Jeralt's death is still so weak. "It's fate," says Sothis. OK, but like, why. Because Thales said so??
Guardian Moon (January) is named after Seiros, who first appeared during this month.
The scene with Edelgard after Jeralt's death is a bit... She starts with a very tough love "have you lost the will to act" approach and discusses how no one can understand your sadness. Others can only offer the tears of an outsider. So she won't cry for you or stand still with you, she can only promise to offer her hand when the time comes for HER to move forward. Which is such a weird direction to take? What does this promise have to do with Byleth grieving?
Thales describes the Flame Emperor as their greatest creation, powerful enough to "burn even the gods." So it seems like they experimented on Edelgard specifically to create a powerful soldier who could face Rhea.
Based on this, it does seem like Edelgard targeting the church is a combination of needing to keep the Agarthans cooperating with her by going along with their aims and getting rid of the Knights in case their interfere (since the Knights supported Loog's separation from the empire). Very impersonal, despite how she sometimes frames it.
Edelgard directly tells Thales that there will be no salvation for their kind and blames them for Duscur (and the shit they caused in Enbarr, presumably the Insurrection of the Seven?).
Sylvain says that most noble children are tested at birth to see if they have a crest. Of course, he also says you can't be the heir without one, but like... Ingrid's family wants to marry her out and she's specifically the only one with the crest, so...
The dancer animation is killing me. It's so stupid.
Hubert suggests that the real aim behind Jeralt's murder was to provoke the Knights into spreading themselves thin hunting his killer.
Manuela says the dagger that killed Jeralt wasn't made of iron or steel and the wound it caused wasn't ordinary.
A lot of the named Church people are out of the monastery this month. Which means you can't train with them, which is annoying...
Dorothea casually drops how she had to survive kidnappings, attempted murders, and who knows what while at the opera. Girl, what??
Linhardt mentions, as we're entering the Sealed Forest, that we have no official mission this month. I guess things were too chaotic to assign us anything.
Kronya is using a sword called Athame, which is described as being crafted with archaic methods. Kronya herself is referred to as "Disciple Kronya." She also has a passive called "Agarthan technology" which makes adjacent foes deal 3 less damage. Is this the weird tentacles she has behind her?
Regarding the Sealed Forest itself, there's some ruins, the platform Kronya waits on (where Solon casts Zahras, which uses the pillars on the edges), a glowing red stone embedded in a sigil on a ruin wall, and the remains of mechanical weapon (I think the kind Rhea keeps in the Tomb in her paralogue?).
It snows on the Locket, I guess because the Throat is a mountain range.
The Holy Mausoleum vs Holy Tomb thing is SO confusing that Rhea has a dialogue line that uses the wrong one lmao
Everyone at the monastery knows we're going to receive a revelation, but Manuela mentions that this is the first time she's heard of the Holy Tomb.
One of the Knights at the monastery mentions that he noticed more people in town than usual. Edelgard's hidden troops are on the move...
Dimitri mentions "this month's mission," so it seems Blue Lions have one, which should NOT be going down into the Tomb with Byleth... I would say this, but Felix's dialogue expects you to do something about Dimitri and like... he's not in my class, dude...

Debts and Repayment
Thanks for the support as always, @authordgaster!
This is a C-A Support chain between Balthus and Seteth from Three Houses! Such a interesting duo, thanks for the opportunity to let me write about them~
Commission info HEREand HERE!
__________________________
C SUPPORT
Seteth: Balthus. A word?
Balthus: Hey there, pal. That’s three words. Done, right? See ya!
Seteth: Hold it right there.
Balthus: Wow, I wouldn’t have pegged your grip to be this strong, Seteth. Care for a match to settle things instead of whatever it is you wanna say?
Seteth: I will decline the offer, though it is as I suspected; you are aware of why I am here.
Balthus: Well, duh. You’re here to collect money, right? The debt I owe the church ain’t small so it was a matter of time until Lady Rhea sent you to me.
Seteth: You are right and wrong about that. I did not come to play a debt collector role even though I am quite aware of the dent you have made in the church’s coffers since your student days.
Balthus: No? Oh that’s a big relief. I didn’t wanna have to fight you and run away from Abyss after finally settling in for a bit.
Seteth: However, I am here to ask you the reason why you have not chosen to work as a hired hand for the church instead. You have done that in the past so you are aware of the amount you can earn.
Balthus: Sure, if I could earn all of that! You’ll take such a big cut outta the whole I end up with barely a coin to toss. I’d rather try my luck elsewhere to pay that debt, thanks.
Seteth: It would be honest work, regardless of monetary rewards, would it not? Haven’t you lived your life in the shadows enough? Now that you fight alongside law-abiding citizens, perhaps it is time to change your ways…
Balthus: Welp, what you say is true. I have been living as a vagabond for a long time.
Seteth: Excellent. I can have you outfitted—
Balthus: But that doesn’t mean I’ll enroll, pal. There’re many ways the King of Grappling can make a living, and being the church’s dog ain’t one of them. Don’t think too much about the debt, aight? I got it covered.
Seteth: *sighs* Must you behave this way? Will you truly not consider it? As you are now a classmate of my sister’s, I must make it so you do not wrongly influence her in any way.
Balthus: Ahh, so that’s what this was about. I did think it was fishy since you didn’t come at me with a weapon in hand demanding money.
Balthus: I know I’m a hard man to miss — which woman could not look twice when they see these?! Haha! — so I understand your concerns… I’m sure I left my share of heartbreak wherever I went.
Seteth: Wha—?! Flayn would never— How dare you suggest she would ever take a liking to- to you?! Preposterous! And even if she did, I would never approve of it.
Balthus: Whoa there, overprotective much? No wonder the kid looks like such an easy prey; you haven’t let her live her own life!
Seteth: I will have you know I give her plenty of freedom! I care only for her safety and wellbeing.
Balthus: Sure, the freedom of a cage, yeah? I feel kinda sorry for her now. Don’t worry, I promise to play nice if it means you’ll give the kid some space. Are we done here?
Seteth: I—? … I suppose. I did not think you would agree so easily, so I apologize for my earlier outburst.
Balthus: No skin off my back, pal. But better keep your overprotectiveness in check or the kid’s gonna hate you for real.
Seteth: …
B SUPPORT (Unlockable after Seteth and Flayn B Support is attained)
Seteth: Balthus. I remember you said you would ‘play nice’? What part of playing nice means getting drunk at the local tavern at noon?
Balthus: Uh, in my defense, I’ve lived down in Abyss for so long I kinda lost the proper sense of time? It’s always dark down there, so any time’s a good time for a drink!
Seteth: …
Balthus: And there’s the death glare. You know I overhead something interesting a few days ago, should I share?
Seteth: By the way you are looking at me, I suppose I will not like this, will I?
Balthus: Not one bit, I’m sure.
Seteth: *sighs*
Balthus: So, does ‘Kindly keep out of my social business in the future’ ring any bells?
Seteth: !! You— What else did you hear? How long have you been eavesdropping on our conversations?!
Balthus: Whoa, easy there, Big Brother, no need to get aggressive. It’s not my way to go around listening in to people’s family meetings. I just so happened to pass by when I overheard that… Though by your reaction, it seems this runs deeper, don’t it?
Seteth: Humph. I’ll thank you not to meddle in my family’s affairs. I hope this does not happen again, Balthus. If I catch you looming around my sister…
Balthus: See, there’s that, too, pal. What did she just tell you? Aren’t you reflecting even a bit? The kid needs some space and you ain’t giving it.
Seteth: I… do not need to hear this from you. I am reflecting well enough without you telling me. Is it too much to simply wish for her to be safe, happy and content at all times? She is my only sister.
Balthus: It kinda is, yeah. You can’t live a life without getting a bit dirty, you know? And I don’t even mean in that way.
Seteth: … Ahem. I am quite aware that it is foolish to expect to shield her from everything, but if I were to ever lose her…
Balthus: You gotta let her loose, pal. She’s your little sis so she’ll always have a spot at your side, won’t she? But if you keep holding her back like this, she’ll just hate you.
Seteth: …
Balthus: I’m not saying I’m a prime example of an older brother, seeing as I left my little bro to inherit the title and land back home, but overprotection ain’t the way.
Seteth: I do remember you hail from House Albrecht, though I know little else about it. So your younger brother is the reigning Baron?
Balthus: Yep. You kinda look like how his mom was when we were kids, and this ain’t a compliment. Because I was born with a Crest and he wasn’t, she always thought that she had to ‘protect’ him from me, and shielded him from mostly everything else on the way. She would control who he met, what he did, where he went and what the professors would tell him in class. Sound familiar?
Seteth: … I am not so unreasonable.
Balthus: Not yet, you mean. My brother still managed to grow up well despite all that, but I figured me leaving would make her gaze turn to eliminating me instead of focusing on him too much. That worked well, hah! This scar was from the last ‘present’ she sent me a few weeks ago.
Seteth: What?! You were attacked within the Monastery’s walls? That breach in security has to be reported—
Balthus: It happened down in Abyss, don’t worry about it. Your little sis is safe here with all of ya’ll. But you’re missing the point again, pal.
Seteth: … Forgive me. I know you are trying to help, and I thank you for it. I confess I didn’t expect to find such wisdom in you.
Balthus: Harsh! Hah!
Seteth: Heh.
Balthus: Nice, now we’re loosing up. Think about it, eh, pal? If you need more ‘wisdom’, you know where to find me!
Balthus leaves.
Seteth: … Surely I won’t look for wisdom at the pub, but I thank you for the new perspective regardless.
A SUPPORT
Balthus: Hey, pal!
Seteth: Balthus.
Balthus: I noticed your grip on little Flayn’s gotten a bit loose lately, that’s good!
Seteth: … I did not have a ‘grip’ on her, but yes, I have done my share of reflecting, much of it was thanks to you.
Balthus: No prob, pal. I’m kinda in the same boat so I get where you’re coming from. Taking care of a little sister in a world filled with trash men sure is hard.
Seteth: Oh? I was not aware you had a sister as well.
Balthus: Well, not my sister, but since she’s my best friend’s sis, she might as well be! You know her — it’s Hilda.
Seteth: Ah. I did hear you and her brother were on good terms. I did not imagine you were so close as to share such a familial bond.
Balthus: Yeah, he asked me to protect her, so that’s what I’m doin’. Any guy who wants to get on with her will have to go through me first!
Seteth: *nod* I understand completely. No unfitting scoundrel will get his hands on my sister on my watch.
Balthus: You know it, pal. But in moderation, yeah? Don’t be a control freak like my step-mom…
Seteth: Ahem. Of course.
Seteth: You mentioned your stepmother, so you are not the official heir to House Albrecht?
Balthus: Nah. Kinda? It’s complicated. You know Kupala? It’s a village up Fódlan’s Throat, so hidden away people think it doesn’t actually exist.
Seteth: I’m afraid I do not recognize the name.
Balthus: Didn’t expect ya to. My mom’s from there, but she left. It didn’t go well and she was rescued by my dad. Bam! Love at first sight and they married. But he’s a noble and she wasn’t, so he had to marry another noble to continue on with the family line. Problem was, my brother wasn’t born with a Crest, so although I wasn’t the ‘official’ son, I’m the one who had the most ‘potential’ to be the heir.
Seteth: I had no idea…
Balthus: So my mom went back to Kupala ‘cause she couldn’t handle all those noble intrigues and what not, you know? I left a while later to give my brother some space and there we have it. I’m planning on going back home to protect my mom once this is over, though. My step-mom’s attacks have stopped since the war, but I’m scared she might be looking for my mom to retaliate.
Seteth: Would she do such a thing?
Balthus: I wouldn’t put it past her, to be honest. Anyway, what did you have in mind to do after the war? I just told you my plan, so be a pal and share yours, too.
Seteth: I will remain at Garreg Mach and help Byleth rebuilt what’s left of the Church and of Fódlan. I could not shirk away from such a duty after helping them play such a pivotal role in the war.
Balthus: Uh-huh. Nice. And after that?
Seteth: After… I’m afraid I don’t know. I want to take Flayn somewhere safe so we live out our lives at peace, for a change. Although she demanded me to stop fretting over her after the war ended, it’s easier said than done.
Balthus: I wanted you to say that. Say, why don’t you go to Kupala with me? It’s a village so out of the way, I don’t think people can find us there unless they try really hard. Besides, I already offered little Lysithea and her folks a spot there, so why not call you and Flyan in, too? The more the merrier, right?
Seteth: That’s… is quite a generous offer. But why would you make such a promise to Lysithea’s family, as well?
Balthus: Ah, I owe them my life. I figured I could repay their kindness the same way they showed it to me, so there you have it. Consider yourself formally invited too, pal!
Seteth, smiling: … Very well. Thank you for the invitation, Balthus. I very well may take you up on that.
Balthus: Nice!
Balthus: Does that mean my debt to the church is pardoned—
Seteth: This and that are completely different matters.
Balthus: Dang. Worth a try, at least. Haha!Seteth: Heh.

FEA character mini-analyses: the house lords, rhea, and byleth
Here is part 3 of explaining why I cast characters the way I did in FEA (my ongoing 3H/EAH crossover fic)! Part 1, about the Black Eagles, is linked here, Part 2 on the Blue Lions is here, and Part 3 on the Golden Deer is here.
Now without further ado... let us begin!
Edelgard as Raven Queen: the biggest hurdle for writing El as Raven was--and honestly still is--the huge personality difference. While El is kind, she's not exactly... as nice? I also imagine her inner monologue to be a lot less insecure than Raven's, so I had to take some liberties on that front. Other than that, though, I can't think of any reason why Edelgard wouldn't be the leader of the Rebels--she's here to contest the system and make a real change. To echo her twin Crests, I tweaked Raven's destiny-bound magic so that El just has weaker magic than she should, and thus relies on spellcraft.
Dimitri as Apple White: I don't think Dimitri would actually be as in love with his story as Apple apparently is, but they share their obsession with duty and what I would call an intense fear of the unknown. Dimitri disagrees with El for exactly the same reasons as Apple disagrees with Raven--because of the disastrous consequences of division and unrest. Apple isn't hiding any demons in her head, though, so again we have some liberties at play. I thought having super-strength (echoing the Blaiddyd Crest) would be an interesting secret for Dimi to keep.
Claude as Madeline Hatter: Claude is the son of Alice here, but Alistair from the original show never did anything interesting and no one else deserves Maddie's iconic role. I couldn't make the Wonderland situation perfectly parallel to Almyrah, but I do want a spotlight on Claude's identity being split between Fódlan and Wonderland. Even though there are other Wonderlandians, he's the only one who is from both worlds--who has to be both logical and mad, but is never quite enough of each. Just, you know, the typical TCK experience. Oh, and talking to the Narrators is of huge importance too!
Yuri as Ramona Badwolf: I took some biiig liberties with this one. Yuri is not related to Bernadetta, but he has the Badwolf name because Mr. Badwolf needed to hide his marriage to Red while still preserving the story's future somehow. I never liked the idea of him having another child, so I thought it'd be cool to mess up some succession laws and have Yuri--the only house lord in the game who didn't come from a wealthy background--"fight" for his destiny by beating all the other Wolfs to it.
Rhea as Milton Grimm: well this is a no-brainer! I'm still smoothing out the wrinkles in how her backstory has to do with Sothis, but just like Milton, Rhea's fear of losing control causes her to rewrite history to fit her narrative. This is gonna be key in FEA.
Byleth as... like... Just Byleth: so... yeah, Byleth doesn't get an important role in this AU, mostly because I couldn't think of a good reason they'd be involved. Honestly it would be hard for me to write them in an interesting way so I'm fine with that.
other characters: Seteth mostly suffers at the hands of chaos and Flayn enjoys it. Jeralt is mentioned exclusively by Leonie. Sothis does not appear as a living character but uh... let's not spoil that. Rodrigue appears as often as I can allow because he's King Charming (!!), who teaches a class at EAH. For the most part, I don't include the 3H students' original parents. Dimitri's father is still named Lambert but his mother is the EAH version of Snow White; likewise for Edelgard. As for the Ashen Wolves--Constance is the daughter of the Marsh King (look it up; I think you'll agree with me!), I made Hapi the daughter of the Sea Witch just because, and Balthus... there's no good reason for him to be around, I'm afraid :(
And that, my folksies, is that!

Ooo how was Silver Snow? Still have to play that one :0
okay so context is i started silver snow like. YEARS ago. two years, probably. got 3h burnout. only started playing it again for [extremely secret reasons i will reveal hopefully on the 27th otherwise please do strike me down. anyway.]
which means i played the back half of silver snow's part 2 with like, NO memory of what a slog part 1 was to replay. that is to say, with part 1 done by some... mysterious other being, who was me, once upon a time, it was great!
a lot of moments that were meant to be serious were just. so silly though. but i am NOT the first to say this. like. the magic missles. what else. hubert's posthumous "hey btw u still gotta kill these guys lol."
it's like this game FOR SURE needed another year in the oven cuz the ASSPULLS dear god. like. seteth knows the slitherers exist. at the very least, he knows that there are people who supported nemesis. so could he. i dunno. investigate those guys himself. esp when rhea actually comes back and the two start chatting w flayn and talk abt all this slitherer stuff it's INTERESTING that maybe they could unravel the mystery behind the greatest tragedy to befall them!!
that like, maybe seteth and rhea can find some closure in catching those who killed their family!! that'd be like, COOL, wouldn't it, if seteth, as deuteragonist of silver snow, and the whole church crew, could've, like, sensed that something is Off abt the imperial army, and. yknow. not. had hubert tell them.
WHATEVER. IT'S WHATEVER
i generally LIKED part 2 outside of the Magic Missle Cutscene which just made me laugh so fucking bad. i gotta admit rhea's last speech to byleth actually nearly made me cry cuz it just lays rhea bare and actually shows growth on her part. like in her captivity she very obviously had time to reflect and she at last sees her mother is never coming back, but, at the very least, all this struggle has brought her byleth, her dear child, and that alone makes it all worth it. she acknowledges byleth for who they are and she is so so proud of them. it made me tear up.
and then it's WAGRGRGRRG RHEA TURNS INTO A MONSTER NOW CUZ FUCK YOU WE NEEDED A FINAL BOSS!!!!!
i think the shadowdropped lore of "yah btw all high ranking church members get some of rhea's blood" is quite frankly REALLY GROSS? obviously it's just there so the final map has additional enemies, and is thus a consequence of the setup for the final boss also being a total asspull.
but it's. gross. for. yknow. "the lizard pope has a secret section of the church where she gives people her blood" is. DO I EVEN NEED TO EXPLAIN HERE???
also this totally dilutes that she saved jeralt's life with her blood because jeralt and rhea's relationship was obviously special and complicated compared to other church members and it gave him a unique perspectice on rhea and that HE had a crest of seiros was LORE IMPORTANT because it meant byleth had a higher chance to actually obtain sothis' power and now you're telling me that like, a whole map's worth of fuckers got the same deal for free? without the emotional baggage? hey, fuck you??
the last cutscene where rhea dies in byleth's arms and she's obviously confused and lost and dying so she calls byleth mother even after her whole speech abt byleth being byleth it. it got to me. that was actually good writing in that one.
gameplay wise it was. hm. well i certainly had fun but the final map was TOO LONG. like u need to take out EVERY white beast which means u need to circle the ENTIRE fucking map before u can even THINK abt fighting rhea. whereas in ch20 i just went "fuck this i'm killing edelgard rn" and then i could and i did.
god BLESS the fucking archer brigade (petra, ashe, and last minute addition underlevelled cyril with that one no crest legendary bow), for being the ABSOLUTE HARD CARRIES on this clusterfuck of a final map. combined they could defeat one white beast per turn with that sweet sweet EFFECTIVE DAMAGE.
i will take ashe to endgame every single fucking time and all tier list makers can eat my dust. does ur meta breaker have lockpick utility. no they dont. ashy-boy best boy i will take no arguments.
also who the fuck needs an actual tank when u have seteth. thanks seteth for insane bulk and rally def.
thank u lysithea for customary dark knight baja blasting. lysithea is always good.
ch21 was fucking Confusing bcuz i didnt know where i was supposed to actually go first and ch20 was "wow this is just the blue lions finale except WAYYYYY easier because edelgard cant snipe me."
other maps i do not remember probably because all of them were also on blue lions. i know the ailel map was and FUCK OFF JUDITH. GO AWAY.
the funniest fucking thing is how silver snow just SKIPS the battle of eagle and lion because you dont have any of the house leaders. it just skips over the dramatic midpoint that existed primarily for All of the marketing. seteth drops in. hi byleth. by the way. dimitir is dead. claude has retreated. the empire has taken heavy losses so we gotta warcrime them right this fucking moment. byleth are you in.
yeah sure thing seteth let's fucking roll. time for a false flag operation. hey what's that weird light in the sky it's -
YE OLDE MAGICAL MISSLE!!!!!
anyway yeah. three houses stays three houses. which is to say. a very mixed bag that under the line leaves me kind of ambivalent these days but i could say "yeah that was fun" again considering i have like. no memory of replaying white clouds outside of "oh yeah edelgard was there."

This is an interesting quote from one of the abyss residents I found. It takes during the explore for the chapter with the battle of the eagle in the line, taking place one chapter after Flayn’s rescue and two chapters after the Gautier’s inheritance.
The reason I mention the two chapters that come before it is because I wonder...do either of those events have something to do with it? We know, when people were searching for Flayn, knights were sent out far and wide to find her, but the knights aren’t all nobles nor do they all have crests (and tbh if the game wanted the knights to be responsible I think this resident would name drop the CoS) so that’s why I think the massacre of this woman’s family has something to do with what happened with the Gautier family.
So obviously this is all headcanon territory (because as far as I’m aware this never comes up again) but my theory is that this woman lived in Gautier territory and her family gave some sort of support to Miklan and his thieves (which would make sense with the negative way she speaks of nobles/those with crests) and the Gautier family retaliated against her family by killing them. I am interested though if anybody else has any theories about what this woman could be referring to?

Favourite things about Rhea? And, because the game hates to see her happy and thriving, any headcanons you have for her? Honestly I just want some Rhea content and I trust you to deliver some Quality Shit.
Actually morally gray character that brings up genuinely interesting moral hypotheticals ("Do you allow for the advancement of technology after witnessing firsthand the horrors that came from allowing such a thing to happen in the past?" "Do you morph history in order to protect a persecuted minority from being further attacked and killed?" "If you were to have an extremely long life, should you use it to be a long-standing guiding figure for those who don't share your long lifespan?") as well as performing actions that are understandable but still extremely morally questionable (creating homunculi in order to revive Sothis).
The voice acting for her, both JPN and even the butchered ENG direction one, are so good and really let you get a feel for her deeply she feels emotions. More so in the JPN version, but her Fallen!Rhea alt in FEH provides some quality Sad Sounding Rhea content for her ENG version to catch up on lol (even though hot take yes her ENG version has way less range than her JPN version but I don't mind Angrhea cuz her being Blood Sweatin' Pissed always made sense to me given her circumstances. Definitely needs more range tho, fuck the voice direction she got lmao)
I like that she's actually fairly shy? Like she wants to interact with people more but she's so worried that she'd just make things awkward for them - woman's so worried about it she's anonymously asking this piece of wood mercenary advice about how to politely tell someone hosting a tea party that she prefers her tea cold 😭 Like yes she can be very stern and decisive when it comes to big matters but damn how can that not tickle your heart some lmao
I really like that she does eventually come to see Byleth as their own person and not just an amnesiac Sothis, especially because this comes as a result of her seeing it for herself and coming to that revelation herself - and that, even after realizing that Byleth =/= Sothis, she still wants them to lead Fodlan because she genuinely trusts them to use Sothis' power for the betterment of the people. That actually says a lot! Because she could always see that Byleth isn't Sothis and then come to resent Byleth for it, or otherwise not trust them with Sothis' power that she knows they have now, but she doesn't. And she owns up to what she did and admits that she was wrong to do it! That takes a lot to admit, especially given her specific circumstances.
As for headcanons, I have a few:
It takes a while for her to put on her ornate Church robes, but not really because of the clothes themselves; not anymore anyway, a few hundred years down the line and it becomes simple enough to put on fairly quickly. No, it's because everyday she has to very meticulously rub off all of the cat/dog hair that sticks to her after letting in like a dozen stray cats and dogs into her room when Seteth's not looking. She can't afford to get caught by Seteth look unprofessional or anything silly like that! It's a big hassle (especially sneaking in the dogs), but the fuzzy lil' furballs are just too cute to not let in <3
Auntie Rhea teaching Flayn about the stars is one of her favorite past times - she was so happy when Byleth returned her star chart to her after she'd lost it, cuz she planned on giving it to Flayn once she learned the constellations properly so that she can spot them on the chart.
Her relationship with Macuil is rather strained - she knows he isn't fond of her staying with humans, and she can't ever seem to build up the courage to talk to him knowing that. But she visits Indech once every few decades, when she can get away with it. Looking at the landscape painting of Lake Teutates always brings a smile to her face, knowing that closed-off Indech is safe and content enough as he is.
She and Seteth are super super omega mature always no matter what... except when Rhea calls him a moldy-oldy and kicks off an hour long insult-a-thon between the two of them. It brings levity to the both of them, rare as they are to happen.
I wanna keep them light-hearted plus that seems like enough for now so imma stop there lmao

fe3h support thoughts
Ingrid shouldn't have had an ending with Claude. The Claude Ingrid support is one of the worst support chains in the entire game. Entire thing just rambles on and on. It has the plot and structure of your typical C-B support where the two people start off antagonistic or have a misunderstanding but then come to realize the other person isn't so bad but instead of the usual 2 conversations this takes place over, the Ingrid Claude one drags on and on for FOUR scenes of this nonsense. It's the B support line formula that most of the other B supports use where at first they aren't on the same page but then come to appreciate each other. But for some reason their support just drags on and on and on and it doesn't add the depth you'd expect from an A support.
Ingrid's supports with Ignatz and Raphael where fine, I liked them though I think they could have done more with Raphaels. Loved having the two big eaters of the group have a support but Ingrid could really learn about grief and healthy coping mechanism from Raphael (most of the blue lions could really).
Pretty much all of Hanneman's paired endings should have been platonic. The hanneman supports are so weird in that for the most part they're good and they're all platonic but then halfway through some of the A support it takes SHARP turn and becomes romantic out of NOWHERE, it is incredibly jarring. Like they took a perfectly good non-romantic relationship and shoved in an unwanted romance last second.
I'm going to write a petition to give Flayn female friends. Flayn deserves more women in her life! Not even paired endings I just wish she had more supports with women. Some of her supports with men are very interesting or reveal more about her character but others were kinda just filler and easy could have been replaced with other supports.
I find the Shamir Claude ending funny just for the sheer number of positions of power Claude runs away from. Duke of Riegan? Outta here. Leader of the Leicester Alliance? Sayonara. King of Unified Fodlan? Nope. King of Almyra? My work here is done.
Hapi is the blue lion member of the ashen wolves with more supports with them than the other wolves but she shouldn't be. Thematically I'd argue either Golden Deer or a neutral 4th party like abyss is better for her. Golden Deer is all about outsiders and perceived notions, expanding worldviews and greater perspectives, the truth, and the way the mysteries and histories of the Church, Fodlan, Crests, nobility, the Children of the Goddess, and the Agarthans are all connected. Hapi's life story started because she wanted to leave her isolated village and see the world. Her life was greatly influenced for the worse by both the Agarthans and the Church, its because of both of them that she is where she is. She's technically from the Fodlan continent but she's not really a Fodlander either culturally or in perspective in a lot of ways she's more like Dedue who is from a separate culture. I think the devs made a mistake. Yuri is the one with all the history with Faerghus, he's a Faerghus boy through and through with Farrghus values and Faerghus ties. However since he's house leader the devs wanted to write him as the neutral 4th option when that doesn't make sense for him as a character. He was a part of house Rowe, he and Ashe have parallel stories, he probably knows the inner workings of the Farrghus court and nobility very well. Yuri should have been the Blue Lions support character instead of Hapi.
Sylvain, Ingrid, and Felix are especially close. Due to being the prince but more importantly closing off after the Tragedy of Duscar, Dimitri in recent years hasn't been as close to the others. Dimitri closed himself off after the Tragedy so I can see why he and Sylvain don't have an A support. Also while they knew each other in childhood, living indifferent territories, Dimitri's closest friends weren't Sylvain, Felix, and Ingrid.
Manuela and Edelgard's supports were about religion and how Edelgard initially viewed religious people as weak, relying on religion instead of standing on their own. Manuela shows her how religion can be a personal relationship that can make people stronger. It's one of the more interesting philosophical moments in the game (the others come in some of Claude and Linhard's various supports off the top of my head)

I have this idea.
It's playing with the idea of CF!setleth but not in the way of him betraying Rhea and joining Edelgard.
I was thinking like....it's years after the war has ended and Byleth is traveling around. Since her CF solo end just talks about how she keeps on her "destined path" by fighting TWSITD to bring peace to Fodlan. So I was thinking she's traveling around and is in Deidru and catches a glimpse of something green.
Which obviously makes her tense up and she quickly turns but sees nothing. Part of her hopes she somehow sees Seteth and Flayn again but at the same time doesn't because she doesn't know how she could face them now.
For her heart beats and her hair isn't green anymore.
But she stays a few days longer and is exploring the market area when she sees it again but this time sees a hooded figure walking quickly away. Without really thinking about it she runs after them and lo and behold it's Seteth.
It's not exactly the warmest reunion since the last time they saw each other she was invading the Monastary; and was telling him to flee if he wanted him and Flayn to live. And like they just stare at each other.
And he's like "so it is true....The Goddess has forsaken us all." Or something snippy lol Which obviously makes Byleth upset bc rn she doesn't know any truth about the children of The Goddess and just knows the propaganda.
Though she will never admit of the nightmares she has after stabbing Rhea with the SOTC and hearing the woman brokenly gasp "mother". Just like the dream she had of a similar woman holding the sword and calling if mother.
She refuses to ponder it because why admit that maybe you don't have all the facts?
But she's like "No she hasnt" and he just stares at her before turning away and she grabs him not understanding why she feels panic bc she KNOWS if he goes now she will never see him again as long as she lives.
And like I really wanna capture the feeling of "could of been" "in another life" regret and consequences. Loving someone and they love you back but it can never be bc they will never forgive you.
I dont have much thought out outside the "reunion" but they like talk to each other of the course of a few weeks. Seteth tho is even more cagey with her and even Flayn is keeping distance. But somehow she learns the truth about crests and relics.
But I also wanna enraptured these feelings in these qoutes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like also dont want it totally disregarding Byleths choice but I think the consequences of giving up her "family" whether she understood or not is like interesting? And also to like give Seteth and Flayn ability to understand her but for her to understand THEM.
And I still want it to be romantic but that achingly tragic kind. If that makes sense? Like I have a lotta thoughts but I think it'll only just stay like....thoughts since I don't really have the writing abilities or delicacy to write something like this. But I'm like obsessed with it lol.
I do know how it ends. Seteth and Flayn leave Fodlan maybe they contacted Claude and finally gave him tbe church secrets so be could give them asylum? And just ends with Byleth moving forward bc she chose her path. But the regret and love stays.
Maybe even ends with her giving him the ring as a goodbye. Or something lol
It's a very scatterbrained idea I know.

Azure Gleam Ch 8
Spoilers for AG below. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Last chapter was 😭😭😭😭😭😭
STORY
Cornelia just needs to go awayyyyy. It's ok, more beating up on Cornelia is good.
Poor Annette, her uncle turned against Dimitri 😭😭😭 Poor baby has to fight her uncle.
Oh, more Faerghus history. It got split into 3 at one point, which explains why House Dominic might fight against Dimitri. They think her uncle is sort of forced into the uprising.
I'm so glad they want to convince her uncle to change sides. Steal their leader too.
God, I love this route.
Duscur chief throwing their full support behind Dimitri. I love this so much 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I'm so happy to see Dimitri getting some love. Can Dedue talk to this guy too, though? At least Dedue was there.
Dimitri giving Dedue and Rodrigue credit. And Dedue giving Dimitri credit. Ofc these two.
Dedue getting to talk about Duscur 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Dimitri switched from "my" to "our" duty. Boy is growing up and LISTENING to Felix. Good 😭😭😭. And Felix, like, not being abusive but helpful. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
CAMP/SIDE BATTLES
Man, I love seeing so many people from Duscur in the camp now. More than there used to be.
Wait, did Hapi just call Dimitri "Didi?" That's really cute.
Ah, people commenting that it seems like Felix and Rodrigue are now getting along 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Flayn is too precious for this world. Saying she's noticed that Dimitri looks more at peace and credits that to his friends and says she wants more friends herself.
Oh, oh, it sounds like from Catherine we're getting Shamir on this route soon!
Ingrid is just casually talking with someone from Duscur about training with the spear. Bless this game for giving us these details. Ingrid. Deserves. Character. Development. (and to live, fuck Scarlet Blaze).
Dimitri's boyfriends are talking and he's like handing out at the bottom of the stairs where he can hear but not see them. II bet he's listening in, lol.
Oh, they're talking about Duscur soldiers. Felix only cares that they're good fighters. Of course he does. Felix is so sour. I love him.
Dimitri spent the night getting scolded by Felix. 😌 I hope they had fun. 👌 On a serious note, apparently Felix and Dimitri used to talk together all night and this was like old times. This group, I swear. Dedue came in and argued with Felix. Three-way. 😌
Edelgard is attacking us. Shocking.
Dimitri's torn between needing to attack the West and defending himself from Edelgard.
Rodrigue wants to focus on the West. So does Dimitri.
Seteth tells Dimiri to send Serios to defend Faerghus.
Looks like Annette's uncle is finding out the truth about Duscur. Seems like he'll side with Dimitri now.
Baron Dominic sympathizes with them (as Lambert favored the Eastern lords, or so they claim, who knows), but has some interesting dialogue.
"I understand the situation you found yourself in, but I fail to see the righteousness or necessity in the measures you chose." And even better. "Yet one can never predict what may lie on the other side of a violent, radical revolution." "Surely a dialogue is a more preferable to cold-blooded murder." Safe to say he'd never side with Edelgard.
Annette, your uncle is based.
Cornelia is back. Man, she's by far the most fun villain.
INGRID & RODRIGUE C SUPPORT
Super happy they let these two support. But if they start talking about Glenn, I'm going to cry.
They're talking strategy together.
Ingrid's like "I command Galatea, I can't retreat." 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 (she just died in SB for anyone wondering)
Rodrigue is helping her figure it all out. He's such a Team Dad in this game, and I LOVE it. This is exactly what I thought his supports would be like.
Oh, Ingrid's brother used to serve as Rodrigue's squire. He was the one who came up with the strategy.
Glad I get to hear more about Ingrid's brothers. I think they got mentioned like once and I always find it cool that she's the heir over her brothers despite men always getting favored over women.
Rodrigue also wants to make sure Ingrid takes care of herself. He's such a Dad.
SHEZ & DIMITRI B SUPPORT
Dimitri got knocked out while training and is beating himself up over it. Shez blames his exhaustion. Let's be real. She's right.
"Dedue and Felix in particular didn't know what to do with themselves." Man, this game ships Dimilix and Dimidue so hard.
Shez ran things while Dimitri was out. Setting up camp.
"Everyone, and I mean everyone, thinks you need to take more breaks." I love this side of Dimitri so much.
Ah, Shez, Ingrid, Sylvain, Ashe, Annette, Rodrigue, Mercedes, Felix, and Dedue all getting mentioned doing various things. I love how much these supports mention other Blue Lions.
Dimitri's insisting he's doing better, but he's doing too much. I love how he mentioned that this is what he wants to do too.
Shez accuses Dimitri of not trusting them, but Dimitri says it's not about that.
Shez told everyone about the C support stuff with Dimitri burying the villagers who died in the war.
Man, I love these two as friends. Someone lighthearted like Shez just plays off someone somber like Dimitri so well.
DIMITRI & DEDUE B SUPPORT
It's happening 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Oh, god, it's the same. Someone telling Dimitri to fucking sleep.
Dedue isn't taking his shit. Good.
Dimitri relents because he knows Dedue will get his way and asks Dedue to help wrap things up.
Dimitri wrote in Duscurian. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 You have NO idea how elated I am this got confirmed as cannon (that Dimitri learned Duscur's language).
He's writing Duscur for help, working with them on the investigation into the tragedy.
Dedue's like, go to sleep, this can wait. And Dimitri's like, what if I die? This can't wait. Dimitri's so fucking dramatic.
Dedue ain't taking shit. Keeps insisting Dimitri just sleep, lamo.
Dedue asked if Dimitri still has nightmares about it. :( Dimitri's surprised that Dedue remembered them. As if he wouldn't.
Guys, I can't with this. OMG. 😭 It's cannon.
When they were younger, Dimitri would ask for Dedue when he was having nightmares, pretending he thought Dedue needed protection, and then they'd fall asleep together.
Like, this shit is straight out of fanfic. Whoever wrote AG deserves a raise and is a shipper.
Dedue liked that Dimitri did that.
Lamo, Dimitri told DEDUE to rest. Like, tone-deaf hypocrite.
Guys, this who support was really sweet and tender, which is peak their interactions romantic or not.
SHEZ & ANNETTE B SUPPORT
Oh boy, this is still about Annette's songs.
Her attempt to change the lyrics didn't work. And people are reading way too deep into her lyrics. 🤣
Ahh, Annette wanted to add Duscur mythology into her song. It's cannon that Dedue taught Annette Duscur stories. My heart.
OH MY GOD. This game just got meta. Saying that once the lyrics are out there, it's out of the author's hands and up to whoever is listening to interpret it. 🤣🤣🤣
Guys, we're getting called out for reading way too much into a fantasy JRPG about killing dragons with wide hips and pale mole men.
Shez encouraged Annette by saying the songs inspired people.
DOROTHEA & FLAYN C SUPPORT
Now THIS is an interesting match up, esp since I seriously, seriously doubt Dorothea can get this support in her native route.
Flayn's asking about Dorothea's days as a diva.
Flayn's voice sounds pitcher different than in Houses.
Flayn wants to learn new songs. And Dorothea wants to start with the most complicated ones lol.
Funny that this is also about the power of songs lol.
They both want to investigate a legend of a song that ended a war.
ASHE & SYLVAIN B SUPPORT
Sylvain offers to help Ashe investigate something, but Ashe is just trying to learn.
Sylvain and Ashe are both wishing they could've just been normal students getting to learn things and have fun. :(
Sylvain helps Ashe read deeper into everything and starts seeing the bigger picture of wars with Sreng.
Ashe begs Sylvain to keep teaching him.
Pretty cute and more examples of Sylvain being smart and the team older brother and Ashe being a book nerd.
INGRID & MERCEDES B SUPPORT
They're cleaning up together. Ingrid is concerned that Mercedes is pushing herself too much. Mercedes feels bad that she wasn't strong enough to do a lot of the work.
Ok, so some info about Ingrid's brothers. She has 2, they're both much older than her so they're not close. One is an advisor in Galatea, and another is serving another house as a knight.
Ingrid's brother was strict with her. She thinks it was over her crest, but Mercedes insists they probably just loved her.
Mercedes says older siblings are just like that.
She also then ruffles Ingrid's hair lol.
I'm glad this one has an A support.
DIMITRI & RODRIGUE B SUPPORT
Finally!
Oh, God, this is going to be about all of them as kids 😭😭😭
Matthias returned Lambert's sword to Rodrigue like 30 years after borrowing it lol.
While at the Officer's Academy, Rodrigue charged too far ahead and the other two got into a fistfight while debating how/if to save Rodrigue. 🤣🤣🤣
Matthais wanted to wait. Lambert wanted to go ahead. Rodrigue doesn't know who won.
So Lambert and Rodrigue also liked to charge ahead.
😭😭😭😭😭😭 Rodrigue doesn't think Matthais accepted Lambert's death until Dimitri took the throne.
Dimitri thinks he started the war and that Lambert would disapprove of him. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Rodrigue says he doesn't think so.
Dimitri begs Rodrigue to stop him if he ever does anything that Lambert would hate. Rodrigue says he'd die to do so. Fuck that. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 He can't fucking die again. Rodrigue gets to live this time. I refuse anything else.
MAIN BATTLE/STORY
Time to kick Cornelia's ass for the nth time! Never gets old.
Dimitri is sending Annette and Gilbert to recruit Baron Dominic. Felix is cautious and thinks killing him now is safest, but Dimitri insists on trying to recruit him.
Rodrigue says that they'd just promote his son if Baron Dominic died, so it's better to try and recruit rather than kill and kill.
Their army is spread thin because most are defending from the Empire.
Shez is like "you've all grown up, Dimitri." She's happy to see Dimitri at ease.
Arval called Shez and the others friends. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Trying to get Shez to fight Byleth lamo. Arval is obsessed. Arval is suspicious af, not going to lie. Baiting Shez into doing what he/she? wants by going on about getting stronger that way.
Shez wants her purpose to be fighting for Dimitri and doesn't need to fight Byleth anymore.
OMG Duscur generals came and helped us out 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 You have no idea how happy it makes me to see Duscur get more involved.
Cornelia talked trash about Duscur, saying she should've wiped them all out.
Man, Cornelia went down fast. Two special hits from Sylvain and Ingrid took her out. #deserved
I hope she dies for real this time.
Wait, what, did Edelgard kill Patricia? That . . . doesn't make sense?
Bitch is dead! Or it seemed like it? Not gonna lie, she's a fun as hell villain because she's just so awful. Yep, she dead. Finally.
Dimitri doesn't fully believe Cornelia, but does think Edelgard knows more than he does about what happened. And believes the Empire was involved in the tragedy.
Oh, good! Everyone learns that Edelgard is Dimitri's step-sister in this storyline too. I always liked how Dimitri opened up to everyone. It seemed Very Blue Lions, esp compared to the other two who never come clean.
Rodrigue offers to explain what happened. It's mostly stuff we all know already, like Cornelia's backstory.
Real Cornelia sounded so awesome. It's awful her name gets destroyed. I'm glad here the truth will get exposed. The real woman deserves it.
So it seems like Cornelia asked Faerghus to rescue Patricia, so TWSITD planted Patricia from the start and manipulated the whole situation with Lambert. Patricia was likely faking the whole time.
Ashe isn't sure they can have a chat about things. But this is Dimitri, he always wants to invite people to talk rather than just war.
Dimitri put reconstruction of the Western Faerghus in charge of Gustave and Baron Dominic.
Glad to see Dimitri is still focused only on defense of the Silver Maiden and not land grabbing. I was worried because they have Claude go for it, which is entertaining as hell, but I'm a bit more protective of Dimitri lol.

Scarlet Blaze - Chapter 13-Chapter 14
We are close to the end-game now!
Story
Mercedes says she’s ok now with fighting the Kingdom. I guess that’s… something….
Lol, Yuri is like “You want to put me to work? Neither you or Edelgard can afford to pay me the price for my life”. Kek.
There is literally a trade route with a foreign country mentioned by an NPC (and the game has the gale to claim the Central Church prevents outside contact)
Ashe is a little happier here too, but only because he wants to help the people in Hyrm that were attacked by the Slithers. A distraction, I guess.
Alois actually had something nice to say about the Church, about how we could learn from them at how they dispatched people and supplies to help those in need. Kinda cool.
Frankly, Shamir confuses me. She says she also wants to kill some of Edelgard’s supports because of the Dagda war. She has no chill.
There is a merchant that is actually someone undercover, pretending to be a merchant… huh.
Constance is kinda irritated that the Duke didn’t consider her house as one to contact for the uprising (lol)
Dancer class is honestly kinda awesome, haha.
Arval comments on this corner of the world being an uncontrolled mess. Lol. It’s been a while since he has chimed in in general.
Some more new slithers appearing on the side missions
OK, here we go, reclaiming Fort Merceus.
Kroyna is here... and now she’s dead.
Why did the Slithers even get involved?!
Jesus christ, Ferdinand just fucking murdered his father. I mean, guy was an asshole. But it was still his dad.
This makes me feel something.
Now that a bunch of Houses have been... destroyed, a new duke needs to be picked.
Ferdinand asks if Edelgard is trying to give him solace.... and she looks confused. (So, I don’t think she did, I think she was just being practical).
I guess there are no more rebels in the Empire now.
Edelgard now has total power now, they literally said it out loud.
Edelgard has a point - it makes no sense for Thales and crew to stop those protecting the archbishop from being crushed.
Edelgard STILL doesn’t trust Shez. Really, this war should be about killing the Slithers, not the fucking Church.
We STILL DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE SLITHERS EXCEPT THAT APPARENTLY THEY DON’T WORK TOGETHER, THEY JUST DO CHAOS ON THEIR OWN.
CHAPTER 14
Whelp, guess it’s time to go crush the Kingdom and Rhea, or so the game claims.
Whoa, Jeralt and Byleth are actually in on the story now.
Jeralt seems totally cool with the idea that if he needs to kill Rhea, he will kill Rhea.
Rhea is suggesting now we retake the monastery. To keep the Empire in check, and to shake the faith of others who loyalties are weaker.
Oooohhhh, time for Valley of Torment.
Man, we haven’t seen Rhea for so fucking long.
Caspar mentions his brother will likely be blamed for what happened to the fort. Betcha that will go nowhere.
Apparently there are still lords who oppose Edelgard’s plan in the Empire (and Monica wants them stamped out)
Leonie kinda whines about not being includes in Jeralt and Byleth’s convos.
Jeralt actually tells Byleth why he left the Knights, interesting (we as players don’t get to know why, though).
Man, Hubert and Claude figured out that Dimitri and Rhea are after the monastery.
Cyril appears in a side map (he’s going to die, ain’t he?)
“adherents to the status quo” THEY ACTUALLY SAID STATUS QUO, I’M DYING, IT’S LIKE THE DISCOURSE
*sweats* Here we go.  This is basically the three way battle again. Except that that it’s really two-version one. Seteth doesn’t want Flayn here.
“Empire supremacy” sure Edelgard
Felix is here!!!
Sylvain has come to save felix’s life
Sylvain wants to avenge Ingrid.... Too bad he dies. :(
Flayn has appeared. Hubert comments about  “Saint Cethleann” and a second coming, lol.
Dedue....
He doesn’t die.
Neither does Flayn, boooo
Nor does Seteth, he retreats too.
Edelgard asks Dimitri to step aside and break it off with the Church, and return to his people. But Dimitri refuses, because he knows Edelgard will likely go after him still.
After the battle, Byleth appears shows up and just talks to Shez.
Well, we are chasing after Dimitri now. And Edelgard wants to be the ones to apprehend Dimitri.
Rhea went to the monastery, I guess.
Ooohhh, Arval has taken over Shez’s body...... And attacked Byleth.
IF YOU DIDN’T RECRUIT BYLETH HOWEVER
There are some minor Arval dialogue changes, since now you will be killing Byleth.
The title of the chapter is different. If you recruited Byleth, Chapter 14 is called Torment of the Eagle and Lion, but if you didn’t recruit Byleth, Chapter 14 is called A Clash of Ambitions.
There is no Byleth scene here, it’s completely skipped.
Fleche, despite being alive, is notably absent here at camp.
Nevermind, there is actually a different Byleth scene, where he gives Claude some “tips”. Claude asks Byleth to come with him after the battle is over, saying he feels like “maybe his path would be different” or some nonsense. Very on the nose. Curious to see where this goes. What tips did Byleth give him?
We get a different scene with Claude now. Claude signed a pact with Edelgard under duress since they were being attack.
But Claude also is against the Church and the Kingdom so they won’t be be “shackled to the past” or something like that. So he is declaring war on both the Empire and the Kingdom.
Is he... a moron?
The Kingdom just wants to be left the fuck alone overall.
So instead of him helping in battle, we fight both armies.
Hilda retreats, no death there
Claude ded now. Not sure if he can survive this battle....
Byleth appears for one last battle. Sothis is controlling him.
Byleth seems to be fighting back Sothis’ control, which is why we win, I guess.
Byleth dead now.
This was a harder battle this way.
Shez feels empty after killing Byleth. He wonders if there is another way to solve this. Which... solve what? You were after Byleth.....
Arval feels relief though.
Interestingly, it’s Shez who can realize that there is a secret path here this time.
I didn’t feel like replaying this chapter for all the character dialogue. So I went and watched it on Youtube.
Claude will ask Lorenz to take care of the Alliance should he fall.
We really going to be ending this route by saving Count Varley? Amazing....
Paralogue
There is a single paralogue for chapter 13, and you need Jeralt and Byleth with Leonie.
Firstly…. Leonie is a bitch. She was so mean to Byleth, asking how Jeralt could raise such a cold and unfeeling person. (Jeralt then admitted that he wasn’t the best dad).
The whole battle, which was killing poachers, Leonie and Jeralt talked about their time together, completely ignoring Byleth for the most part. We don’t even know where Byleth was during Jeralt and Leonie’s time together, we don’t learn that at all. :/
Jeralt then goes to the villagers to get a feast (he was kinda expecting one), and Alois won’t even be there. He even doesn’t let Byleth or Shez come. What a jackass.
Byleth was cute though, when he thought Shez really meant they should hold hands on the way home.
CHAPTER 14 PARALOGUES
STOP GIVING ME PARALOGUES, I WANT TO BE FREE, ASGKFDAKGDAKGJFDKGJKFDSJGKFDSJGKFDJGKDSGFDSKGKFDSJGKFDSJGKFDJGKJFDG
Leonie and Shamir Paralogue.....
Apparently, there is a HUGE merc group called the Guardians of Foldan that just.... exist?
Anyways, boring paralogue. Some nobles took a shine to Shamir and wanted her kidnapped, and that’s really it.
Whoa, they are NOT HIDING the fact that Shamir is bi here, the noble interested in her is... a woman.
Damn, lady.... stop catching all the ladies!
Linhardt and Caspar’s paralogue....
we are getting the last of the rebels with their fathers in this paralogue.
Caspar is really bloodthirsty with his father. They are having a competition to see how many they can kill. :/
Caspar’s older brother is mentioned again. Looks like he will be “reassessed” for his failure for defending the Fort from the former Duke.
So far, there have been less rebels and more... thieves. Even Linhardt says as much.
Wait, and then Count Bergliez and Count Hevring turn on us to “test” Caspar and Linhardt.
Man, a waste of another paralogue. It made very little sense. It just shows off the “friendship” of the dads more, really.
We get the magical gauntlets though from Caspar’s father. “Jarngrepir”. Or, as my tongue likes to call it, “Jarnfreplerpler”
Caspar seems.... particularly stupid in Hopes....
Supports
After chapter 12 is done, a few more supports open up: Shez with Hubert and Edelgard.
Edelgard with Shez - Why is so much Slither stuff behind supports and paralogues? But this support basically confirms that Edelgard in Houses turned a blind eye to the Slithers. However, this doesn’t…. mesh well with Houses? I mean, correct me if I’m wrong, but… Edelgard also allowed them to exist because they were useful to her cause. This makes it seem like Edelgard DIDN’T have a choice with the Slithers in Houses, but that just doesn’t make sense with what we know. Also, Shez says Edelgard was different because she was a noble who paid attention to him. Never mind Claude and Dimitri and all the other nobles from the houses who gave him the time of day before he chose his house.
Hubert with Edelgard - Nothing to really say about this, honestly. Just Hubert saying he finally trusts Shez. Somehow, Hubert can sense there is “another person” in Shez and worry that Shez will become another person entirely. Feels a little forced, for Hubert to be able to “sense” that.
Jesus, they don’t give you a lot of time to gain supports between Leonie and Ferdinand. Damn.
Leonie and Ferdinand C - Leonie thinks there might be a cultural difference between nobles?! UM, EXCUSE ME, WHERE IS THIS ELSEWHERE?! Everything else is all about how all the nobles are the same, down with nobility! Maybe, and I say just maybe…. countries are different?!
Leonie and Jeralt Support - It’s a little weird, because Jeralt says that he wasn’t in Leonie’s town for long, and even tells Leonie at camp that she wasn’t really his apprentice (although he does tell her kinda “ok, fine, you were my apprentice” after she whines a little). But in this support, he says he is proud she was his apprentice. OKie dokie.
Leonie and Ferdinand B support - Never mind, this support turned dumb. Leonie has come to the conclusion that all nobles are the same. Ferdinand is also saying that he is the only one who is doing stuff like… take care of horses…. Um… Marianne is right there? Holy fuck this support was dumb, dumb, dumb.
Leonie and Lorenz’s support - The Church paid back some of Leonie’s money since it shut down. How absolutely EVIL /s. It’s a weird conversation overall, that apparently commoners “don’t make their own choices” and that “commoners don’t want to be commoners anymore”. I’m…. huh. It feels like whoever wrote this support just doesn’t understand the world in general. Leonie making it as she has isn’t proof of change upon them - what about mercenaries? Seriously, this support makes no SENSE.
Leonie and Lysithea Support - Lysithea’s biggest concern for becoming a commoner is that she won’t be able to get candy anymore.
CHAPTER 14 SUPPORTS
A bunch of supports unlocked after killing the Duke.
Shez and Ferdinand - Ferdinand has been depressed this whole route.
Ferdinand and Edelgard - Ferdinand is so loyal now. And he says he did the right thing by killing his father. Also, Edelgard doesn’t want to lose so people won’t say bad things her and her war. And Ferdinand would rather die than see people end up saying shit about her. Yay....Ferdinand does mention that the commonfolk need to be educated before they can carry on. (AND EDELGARD DIDN’T THINK ABOUT A SCHOOL, FERDINAND CAME UP WITH THE IDEA).
Edelgard and Bernadetta - Thales is still live, so Edelgard is still bothered. Also, Edelgard doesn’t believe in being kind to people in despair, because it doesn’t really help them.
Hubert and Ferdinand - I honestly prefer silly Ferdinand, this serious Ferdinand isn’t as fun. :/ Ah, the “Twin jewels of the Empire” was mentioned here.
When will my suffering end of this route?

Here is my review for Fire Emblem Engage. It is long and full of spoilers so it is under the cut.
Story: it was fine. There was nothing too intense, but I enjoyed it. There parts that were rushed that probably could have used some more time and I wish we had more with Lumera and seen more family time with the Hounds (actually seen why they considered themselves a family, especially Marnie)
Best Chapters: Brodia and Elusia (first time there). Story wise, this felt like the strongest part. Brodia and Elusia had a lot of great characters and even though parts were predictable, I enjoyed it. They did a good job shaking things up here.
Worst chapters: Solm, it feels like Solm had a lot of busy work and I feel like they could have reorganized it so it flowed better. I would have preferred skipping that random bandit fight to get Timerra and maybe had Seadall join at this point too. However, I like the maps we get, so I won’t complain too much.
Supports: I actually like the supports in FE Engage. Are they reliant on the person’s shtick? Yes, but I think people are forgetting just how reliant FE3H was too. A few of the supports were a bit random and weak, but I thought a lot were at least funny but most did a good job building on the characters.
Paralogue: I get why they gave the Emblems paralogues (since quite frankly, I didn’t know most of the emblems), but I would have given at least one to each of the lords and have taken out Jean’s.
Lords: I really like the lords in this game, but I think the game does hold them back a bit. Having four lords with you for most of the game means each one does not really get a chance to shine. FE3H strength with their lord is even though there was three, they would only let you focus on one so that lord was really developed and could shine in the story. Ivy is a strong character who I liked a lot, but she really fades from the plot after she joins the party and that is unfortunate. Timerra never really gets her chance to shine since she shows up pretty late and has to deal with the other three and that is unfortunate because she seemed interesting. Alfred and Diamant probably have the best time since Alfred is with you for such a long period of time that there is time to know him and Diamant gets the lead in Brodia, first trip to Elusia, and part of Solm which are some of the best chapters in my opinion.
Veyle: I can’t stand Veyle. At first I was alright with her, but once I realized she wasn’t actually a small child but a teenager, I was just like wow, there is a difference between being naïve and dumber than a bag of rocks. Alear is naïve, but actually works for the character, she is just dumb. I feel she could have been done so much better, either push her more like Flayn or actually make her a child. Plus they neutered everything that could have been interesting about her by making nothing she does actually her fault and having most of the characters be completely fine with her (as far as I know, I’m not going out of my way to get her supports). Plus they force her to be equal to the Lords once she joins the party and I really couldn’t care less about her.
Alear: I really like Alear. I think they have a great personality and their design really grew on me. I like how they feel like a young adult, trying to find their footing, making mistakes, getting emotional, and have some spunk (teasing their friends)
Byleth: boy do I wish Byleth talked more in his own game. Byleth was great here and I really liked what he had to say.
Map: I really appreciated the large variety of maps. It really kept things interesting and made replaying things fun.
Game play: For the most part, I thought the game play was solid, especially the maps, enemies, and builds. There were a lot of things you can do with the characters and it was fun (also, the fact they flagged the save file you completed as such makes me believe they will eventually add in NG+ which I think will make this game a lot better).
Resources: I think this is going to continue to improve as the dlc waves come, but wow was this game tough on both gold and supplies, yes the weapons don’t break, but staffs do and you need money for healing items too. Also, why is iron the thing that is constantly holds me back from upgrades? Have steel and silver, but always running out of iron.
Grinding: so it is nice to know the enemy skirmishes cap at Level 20 Advance, but I really wish there was better places to grind up my weaker units. I don’t know if they are going to improve the tower, but it would be nice if I could get more exp from there.
Character who I would like to remove: Besides Veyles’ bad writing, the character who is most out of place is Jean. He really does not fit in with the others from Firene and does not really add to it. He does not make sense and in a cast that I feel is probably weighed down by the sheer amount, I think you could easy remove Jean and no one would notice.
Wake Up Events: They need to be refined. I was woken up about 100 times and I got Diamant, my romance, twice that entire time. There are just so many characters and the fact it is (fairly) random, makes it hard to get the characters you want. Perhaps if they increase the odds with the amount of usage would be good. The concept of the wake up events is completely odd (and very Fire Emblem), but they are some of the better romantic moments.
Romances: All the romances were a little weak, but they do get full points for having the romances only be for adult characters (in English) AND not have any of the romances be gendered locked. I know not everyone is happy about that, but unless some of the characters are actually going to be gay or lesbian, than only lgbt players are negatively impacted by gender locking character since straight players won’t have the same issues. Playersexual characters work for me and I would much rather have more options than less.

SS is done.
The most standout part: I got the Rhea S rank. It was good. I support it, but I wish there was a gen version and also that it was available on VW. My general impression is that VW actually gives you more chances to ask after and worry for Rhea (plus Claude is a rather meh romance option), so it would be great if I could get with her there too.
In general, I wish VW and SS were just one route. Both have some nice small details, but given how similar they are, I feel like you'd get a better experience if they were just combined.
Checking my VW endgame notes, it seems VW gives you info dump about Agartha, which definitely feels missing in SS, and SS gives you a bit more detail about Byleth's deal from Rhea, which adds some nice details on the Rhea relationship front. Seriously, they should have just combined them.
(Hilariously, Catherine's endcard outright contradicts the paired Rhea one. They are incompatible, but I got both. Additionally, Ingrid's card seems to be written for Crimson Flower, since it mentions Galatea being "seized" and Ingrid needing to push strongly to be allowed to govern it, which comes across weirdly as a post-war in the Byleth-led United Kingdom, especially since the other Lions kids I recruited all got their lord positions without any apparent fuss.)
Overall, not much else to say about SS. Final take: SS and VW are really obviously the same route, but even though SS was supposedly written first, VW feels marginally better in its focus and I enjoyed it more. However, the Rhea stuff specifically is good, and I wish I could get it on VW. Yup.
Final save file time: 95:19. Minus the VW playthrough, it's 44:07, so a bit faster. Specifically post-route split, it's 20:16, so it seems like the part that I finished faster was actually just Academy phase, possibly because I just didn't care much for the BE kids.
Liveblogging notes:
Looking closely at the battle selection screen, it seems Shambhala is at the very eastern tip of the Empire. There's a bit of mountain that stretches down from the Throat across Airmid River, and it seems to be there.
Narration calls it a "sprawling underground city."
Thales was kind of a chump!
Ah, I just realized I forgot to check his X description blurbs. They probably weren't too interesting tho.
The Agarthans are super mad about living underground and not having "light." Thales also name drops Agartha in his battle line vs Seteth and in the cutscene afterwards. Aside from their ability description, I think this is probably the first time their proper name is mentioned. But we uh, don't seem to discuss this much?
Small scene with Nemesis's coffin is missing, I think. Well, obviously because he's not the final boss now. iirc the scene immediately after the month change, with everyone freaking out over Rhea is new instead. It's a little weird because iirc VW gives you more opportunities to express concern for her. Here, the Rhea focus feels a bit less supported.
Seteth didn't realize you already knew that Rhea is the Immaculate One (which you did, btw).
Seteth "long ago" lost the power to change form, but "it seems" Rhea has not. My dude, did you not know... He does confirm that he's also a child of the goddess, which Rhea keeps hidden in VW. Flayn is also counted as one of the children of the goddess, even though she's more like a grandchild. It's a general term for dragons.
Seteth and Flayn press Byleth about taking over as the leader of Fodlan in some capacity, now that Rhea's future is uncertain.
We find the Sword and Bow of Zoltan in Shambhala. I was wondering about whether these things existed, since Zoltan is a dude that got namedropped in a small quest item description a while back. I also have an Axe of Zoltan though I can't remember exactly where I picked it up. No spear?
Just noting that you use Arcane Crystals to repair magical weapons like the Bolt Axe, Mythril to repair sacred weapons like Cichol's Spear of Assal, and Umbral Steel for relics. Mythril is also used on forging the rusted weapons that require A+ professor rank. iirc they're legendary weapons from other games or something like that. Smithing Stones are for normal weapons of all rarities.
On VW, this month was about Nemesis appearing and us going to fight him, but here on SS, that doesn't happen, so the explore dialogue is all about Seteth telling us that we should become the new Ruler of Fodlan and us taking the month to think about it. Everyone around the monastery comments on this, how we should think about it carefully, how they believe in us, how they're thinking about the future, etc. It's... hm. I think it's okay, but it really highlights how much Byleth has not been setup for this role At All.
They're a mercenary who became a teacher via nepotism and while we do things in the story that you could probably read as proof of Byleth's ability to lead, they don't really feel that way, especially since Seteth can end up spending half the war refusing what we suggest. Byleth is also just... not a real character. So them becoming the big deal leader is kinda... yeah.
Anyway, I accidentally ended the month early. But whatever.
Before you tell Rhea your "decision," she gives you exposition about how she made you and Sothis's crest stone is in you. She wanted to see Sothis again and thought she could regain everything she had lost.
Sitri was Rhea's 12th attempt. She "grew up" without Sothis's consciousness and fell in love with Jeralt. But when she gave birth, the child was not breathing and she herself was also "in grave danger." Sitri told Rhea to take the crest stone from her and put it into her baby. Otherwise, both would have died.
Byleth is suggested to be able to house Sothis's consciousness because they have both the crest stone and a body born from a parent with Rhea's blood.
Rhea is aware that Sothis gave you her power and disappeared, which means Rhea's dearest wish did not come true, but she's accepting of that. She basically entrusts Fodlan and the future to you.
And she just flips out in the middle of that.
"White Beasts" appear all over the monastery. They are from priests and knights that Rhea shared her blood and "stones" with. Tho given how JP plurals work, it's impossible to tell if Rhea is meant to have one crest stone or several. Demonic Beasts also run in??
Enemies are Frenzied Church Soldiers with minor crests of Seiros, Altered Golems, White Beasts (cardinal that has transformed and gone mad due to the rage of the Immaculate One) with Blest Crest Stone Shards (bestowed by a saint and wielded as a weapon), and the Immaculate One herself. She has a crest stone of Serios, can recover HP when near a White Beast and is described as having been driven to an uncontrollable anger due to the power of the goddess.
This battle was annoying because of the Classic setting. The whole business with Rhea having a private army of people whom she shared blood with is, hm. But I get the feeling this was done purely to explain her battle having the same mechanics as with Nemesis and the 10 Elites. It's... an interesting tidbit that these cardinals and such exist, but kinda weird that the crest of Seiros is actually this common, especially since they can ALL presumably pass it down to their kids, and I would expect Rhea had done this for more than just one generation.
(funny concept: after a thousand years of Rhea just sharing her blood all over, a good three quarters of Fodlan has some Seiros crest blood and it manifests pretty much at random in people all over.)
Anyway, final blow by Flayn.
OK, enough screwing around. tbh I do like Rhea, so there's some emotional resonance in everyone being very worried about her and having little voicelines about how they want to pay back the debts they owe to her, and her sadness and suffering and all that. It's not the worst.
She mistakes Byleth for Sothis when collapsing in the cathedral.
They did make a mistake: Rhea transforms in her dressing gown without the mantle or headpiece, but she changes back in full archbishop regalia.
The post-battle exposition exposition is kinda... ah yes, all nations in Fodlan are gone, but you see the Church is leading people toward a new... nation? How does this work. Sorry, but I don't see a religious government (??) as a good thing.
Rhea says she had a vision of flying free and speaking with Sothis while near death. She's happy she survived... so am I.
Rhea's wish was for peace, but she admits fault in propagating a false history and deceiving the faithful. And she did a bit of forbidden experimentation on the side, obvs. We forgive her tho.
I wish there was a gen way to save her, without the romance. It's such a good coda, honestly, without the marriage.
I wish Byleth was a more concrete character. Not necessarily a super detailed one, but with at least some grounding traits.
Still, Rhea romance scene is pretty good. WAY better than Flayn. Why can't I do this on VW..........
Endings: Ashe takes over Gaspard as the new lord. Galatea was "seized" what the heck, though Ingrid did rule it. Felix still ended up Duke Fraldarius. Sylvain talked his way into peace with Sreng, good on him. Lindhart "escaped the Empire" but went missing. Dorothea fled with her troupe to a secret location. Petra went to Brigit. Caspar fell on a battlefield. Bernadetta because seriously ill and lived as a recluse. Ferdinand returned to his territory but went missing. Catherine became Guardian of Zanado, but why was she shaking up with MY wife in solitude? Because in the ending card with Byleth, Rhea is still archbishop and assists the leader of the new "United Kingdom of Fodlan." Shamir became Robin Hood. Alois became captain of the knights. Seteth became very tolerant lol
