I definitely wanted to welcome the new year at the turn of the calendar date eight days ago, but fate had other plans; I came down with Covid again on January 1st after a year plus of dodging it, so all of the cutesy Year of the Dragon-themed new year art plans I had went out the window (and boy, did I have plans ;_;). Instead, I had been focusing on rest and recuperation this past week while sneaking in work a little here and there.

Taking into account my condition, the turbulent state of the world at large, and the challenging circumstances both seen and hidden by who I’m sure is everyone entering the new year, I’ve decided to do something more muted instead; I’ve decided to revisit Claude & Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses after a long while, each injured and confined to bed, but comforted by the other with tenderness. I think that’s what we could ask for really, to be supported and looked after at our low moments so we can share, appreciate and celebrate the highs together.

So here’s my New Year’s greeting: No matter the challenges that follow you into 2024, I wish you all the best in weathering them safely and successfully. I wish you all good health and wealth, physical and emotional stability, and happiness in yourself and with others that you care for.

Thank you so much for keeping up with my shenanigans all these years; It's always a privilege to make art that I love that in turn is also enjoyed by others.
