I don't know if I can commit to such a regular schedule, but I think it would be funny if my zine was published triskaidekannually, 13 times a year. That's once every four weeks, so one month would get an extra intercalated issue, the Blue Moon Special. I would treat it like leap day or Chinese new year, a time for celebration you wouldn't otherwise celebrate. I would want it to be like a cross between April Fool's Day and Halloween regardless of what month it actually fell in (if I published issue 1 on January 1st, then Issue 2 would be on January 29th; if I published on January 11th instead, then the double month would be May 3rd and 31st, issues 5 and 6 respectively)

Thing is, I chose the title The Some Times because I specifically didn't want to commit to a release schedule (it's not daily, it's not weekly, it's not monthly, it's just sometimes, whenever I get around to it), but I do kinda like the idea of having a baker's dozen issues per year. 13 is a special number to me for a bunch of reasons, and if I had unlimited energy and resources I would totally go for it, but I know in my heart of hearts that I would burn out and give up if I forced myself to stick to such tight deadlines.

This is a one man project, and I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. I always psych myself out by aiming too high, so I went out of my way to give myself some wiggle room for this project. Quality over quantity. I don't want there to be any filler or padding just to tick an arbitrary number of boxes, I'd rather release 3 or 4 really solid issues sporadically throughout the year. If I have nothing to say in a specific month, then there's no point making up something half-hearted.

a lot of the time i get annoyed by all the characters that it really seems like i should be kin with but that i can't kinfirm because it just doesn't click for some reason but i firmly believe that the reason the forge of days is one of those characters for me is because the multiverse knows that absolutely no one can handle that level of baggage and that if i ever did fully realize i was her i would probably go insane and kms from the guilt so its solution is to just force me to leave that where it is instead

i think that, just as the the principle now known as heart used to be known as wheel, that before the rise of human invention and thus the wheel (hour) it was part of tide (principle, but under the domain of the namesake hour).

#for it rises and falls eternal etc etc #possibly in the sun/moon flip before that era though it could have been an apollonian primciple rather than a dionysian one #day night cycle sunrise sunset etc however due to length of day change over seasons plus occasional events like solar eclipses its a less #reliably steady cycle than tide thus why it came under that hour. in the house of the moon it may become tide again or tied to lunar phases #or perhaps be linked to both given the dance between moon and ocean but given that the mensicate is solar i dont know what the next #iteration of a major lunar hour will look like after the upcoming flip #(*solar insofar as being a product of the intercalate)

Scapholunate Interosseous Ligament and Dorsal Intercarpal Ligament Repair: A Two-Tailed Tendon Graft Repair for Scapholunate Ligament Dissociation by Lisa L Lattanza* in Crimson Publishers: Peer Reviewed Orthopedic Research Journals

Injuries to the scapholunate ligament are common, and complete tears can lead to scapholunate (SL) dissociation, which is described as a loss of linkage between the scaphoid and the lunate. A history of a fall or sudden load on the wrist in extension usually precedes the complaint of pain on the radial side of the wrist localized over the scapholunate interval [1]. Stability of the scapholunate complex is dependent on extrinsic capsular ligaments and the scapholunate interosseous ligament (SLIL). With a deficient SLIL, the scaphoid flexes and rotates away from the lunate while the lunate extends, as the lunotriquetral ligament is still intact. This combination produces a dorsal intercalated segment instability (DISI deformity), which is characteristic of scapholunate dissociation [2]. If not corrected acutely, these altered kinematic loads through the radiocarpal joint lead to progressive deterioration of the secondary scaphoid stabilizers, which progresses to overall carpal dysfunction and further scaphoid malalignment. There is typically progression to further instability, leading to debilitating patterns of arthritis in the radiocarpal and midcarpal joints known as scapholunate advanced collapse (SLAC) [3].

I have two hours of down time in my very busy day today, so technically I should be going for a walk or something. But also there's a storm outside and a tentative exploratory foot outside the door blasted me back against the wall behind the reception desk until I was somehow the only object to exist in 2 dimensions, so I have given up on that idea.

So instead I have cheerfully hurled myself bodily down the rabbit hole of deciding how to construct a werewolf religion for these erotica novels, which naturally will never be mentioned on the page because they're literally just vehicles for showing people fucking and sometimes beating the shit out of imperialists. Currently weighing up the merits of a purely lunar calendar vs a lunisolar calendar, and if the latter, where I can put the intercalation.
