You should not reblog aid that includes UNRWA some of its members have been confirmed to have taken part in the 7th October massacre and terror attack. The money does not go to civilians but to Hamas directly which only leads to further suffering for palestinians especially UNRWA child soldiers and queer people

Would that mean Ajax has an unusually vested interest in the other nations after everything in Liyue is sorted? Like- keeping an eye on the Gunnhilder clan, or the Ragvindr’s? Would he have a vested interest in seeing the Dawn Winery form and thrive? Would he keep an eye out for news from Inazuma about the Kamisatos, Kaedehara clan, and how the Yokai are doing? There’s a lot of funky things Ajax could be tracking and or meddling with and I love that for him
oh absolutely. ajax would find a way to build himself a little news chain just to keep up on Blorbo Release Dates and accidentally install the greatest intelligence gathering network in teyvat
and like- nobody would realize at first since it'd happen so slowly, but by one point some couple of centuries down the line guizhong would be like- sorry, how do you know this? and ajax would just cassually drop that ah yes [instert someone's name here] told him and guizhong and morax would sit there like. who- who's that and ajax would drop the whole oh y'know i made some friends, i got some people to pass me some info back, usual stuff and guizhong would stare bc ajax is just casually revealing he has created a both open-secret yet completely unknown network of entirely random individuals who just- pass gossip along, and it all eventually goes back to ajax. most of that network is made up of volchiy travelers who pick up info on the coasts and directly report back to him.

Another mini! This one of Punz a little bit after arriving at the farm uvu
Since centaurs aren’t native to the land, and Punz not being fluid in the language yet, it takes a bit for the others to learn about centaur habits and culture. One of them being dressing! He was given a shirt right away but Sam eventually noticed he seemed flustered and uncomfortable with his state of dress, often trying to cover up his back and lower torso. This was momentarily fixed by borrowing one of Sylvee’s aprons and wrapping a sheet over his back, until Sam managed to find some reliable documentation on centaur culture and used that to help Sylvee and Hannah put together some actual proper clothes for Punz

at this point i get mad at anyone who even jokes about utena being stupid because i've seen so many people who wholeheartedly mean it. i just think if you're making a statement like that about a character it should be supported by the text. which it isn't. please, point to one moment in the show that demonstrates her being less intelligent than an average 14 year old. all i ever see as reason for it is "she's a jock" which doesn't mean anything, and "oh she doesn't realize [very specific thing that has only been revealed to the audience and a select few characters who are hiding it from her]" which is like. how the fuck is she supposed to know that without jumping to insane conclusions about people

“Matsuura-san’s parent died… Hikaru’s parent also died… having your parent die… is bad.”
Thank god we’ve got Yoshiki here, modern philosopher of our time, to drop this wisdom upon us. Surely this grand conclusion, which required a whole flashback to come to, will have an impact on how Yoshiki views death going forward- oh wait, lol what am I saying? Of course it’s not!
#It took so much to come to the coldest take I’ve ever seen#Like Yoshiki pulled this straight out of the fridge ‘hikaru’ put Matsuura in#And he somehow got less empathetic after this point#At the point that /‘Hikaru’/ is the one going ‘should we care about this person dying?’#And Yoshiki is going ‘nah. We’ve got a research project to do’#Smth has definitely changed#I hope this obsession with the research project is like- an actual thing#Maybe like Yoshiki is experiencing that same emptiness ‘hikaru’ feels on a daily basis but he doesn’t know what would fill it#So he’s just seeking out and taking in as much information as he can because learning has always been an escape for Yoshiki#Like being smart is Yoshiki’s way out of the village. Every time Tokyo is brought up it’s almost always in reference to his intelligence#So learning more has always been Yoshiki’s solution to things. ALSO Yoshiki is actually obsessed w/ this research project#He thinks about it while he’s in class- while he’s studying outside of class- while his friends are all talking-#You can probably count on two hands the amount of times Yoshiki talks about smth other than the research project post volume 3#It’s actually concerning#hikaru ga shinda natsu#the summer hikaru died#hgsn#hgsn spoilers#my hgsn shit#It doesn’t have to be because he’s becoming more like ‘hikaru’#I’d just like for that plot point to come up again and be like a driving force for why Yoshiki acts the way he does#The actual reason will be nothing at all#And instead Yoshiki will revert back to normal when Maki eventually dies#Because Yoshiki is only capable of caring about people he knows the name of

I've seen some people who are saying "Kaeya already chose Mondstadt!"
Sure, we can agree that his heart is with Mondstadt, but his storyline so far isn't leading to a clean-cut decision at all. Something will happen that will make him decide, and that means there will be heavy consequences for either choice.
He could learn vital information that would make deciding hard for him, or he could be forced into doing something he doesn't agree with to keep others safe.
He'd do everything to protect the people he loves and cares for, and if that might mean teaming up with the Abyss or the Tsaritsa? Even if he might get hated for it? Even if it could kill him? He'd do it.
And do not be so quick to think that he doesn't care for his homeland- a nation where time and time again, the narrative of "not all of its citizens deserved getting cursed" and "there might be a cure to the curse" keeps coming back (the cure being known to an Alberich at that, as far as we know of). No matter how he may feel about his father, he is still aware of his responsibilities as an Alberich. He says he doesn't hold much concern now for his birth nation, and yet he has used what he knows in concerning ways ( Windblume letter to Venti that could be perceived as a threat/warning, luring out Dainsleif with his surname)
Basically, what I'm saying is that there is no way it is going to be that easy for him.

When you're on your second read of GtN and you're starved for info about the rest of the world that Gideon doesn't give a shit about so you go digging into the Cohort Intelligence Files at the end.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Were the Second trying to form a relationship with the Fourth at Canaan House and Gideon just never saw it?
The Second, Third and Fifth are clearly the most politically powerful houses, and Judith is obviously more intimidated by Abigail than anyone else. It seems like she was planning to undermine her influence over the Fourth as a political power-move.
The affection between the Fourth and Fifth in this particular instance does seem to be genuine, but their relationship is also apparently part of a larger tradition which has been allowing the Fifth to accumulate power over the Fourth through building such relationships. The Second is not happy about one of their rivals having this power and seems to be making plans to usurp their influence.
The familial affections between Abigail + Magnus and Isaac + Jeannemary are very strong, but Isaac and Jeannemary also idolize Judith and Marta for being high-ranking members of the Cohort. Could the ploy have been successful if Cytherea hadn't been there running everything off the rails?
(Also, honorable mention for Isaac's potential arranged gay marriage 😭)

I remembered that time I called Fjord a skilled mage (and provided textual support) and got a handful of people in my inbox mad that I was "trying to make Fjord good at everything" (?) but more bafflingly some were mad I called him a mage.

Did anyone else ever have to do that assignment in like the third grade where you have to write absurdly detailed instructions for making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? And you have include things like "unwrap the bread" and "retrieve a knife" and "unscrew the peanut butter jar"...?
My job is like that sometimes.

Attended a talk about responsible AI and AI regulation yesterday, one of the key takeaways was that we need a a greater complementary between the sciences and the humanities. Tbh coming into STEM from translation, I couldn't agree more.
And the speaker also had this analogy, of AI being a car without brakes currently, and how no one would think the automobile industry introducing brakes would curtail innovation lol, but for some reason any time regulation is mentioned, it's all "no, that would hinder progress blabla".
Another thing mentioned was the disparity between those who are represented in the data and those who are only estimated, and those who benefit and those who are just explored.
Anyway, I really enjoyed it :)
In other news, I got a 20/20 on my SI project! CSPs are kind of fun, when they're not actively making me cry lol

I'm rewatching the season 8 of GOT, and it's amazing how it gets worse each time each time I notice a new inconsistency. the fact that the prophecy was for nothing, and how with arya killing the night king it made me understand that anyone could kill him, this person just had to have aegon's dagger in their hands like (???)
Why would you do that to yourself?? Forget rewatching, I haven't even watched the final episode (and I never will) 😭
The past few seasons of that show made no sense and I'm tired of people pretending otherwise. It was literally that "anyone could've killed him"; they just shuffled through characters to find one that "felt right" and even considered the Hound or Brienne. The only options should've been Jon or Dany, but Jon would've been "too obvious" (as though being able to tell where the plot is going is a bad thing) and Dany killing the Night King would've been "too heroic" for a character they desperately wanted to demonize. So we were left with...what we got, which really highlights how poorly D&D handled all of these characters. They made Arya's story all about being a fighter, erasing the majority of her development from the books, and then they didn't even make space for her to use those skills. Her face-changing skills never came up after she killed the Freys, she didn't carry out any actual assassinations (they didn't even consider sending her to kill Cersei?), and if they hadn't decided that she would kill the Night King she wouldn't have done anything significant. With the "Ed Sheeran was a surprise for Maisie's last season" thing I doubt they even initially planned for her to survive the entire time, which would've made her story even more pointless. They put no effort into writing her character and just did "whatever was most badass", but I'm supposed to believe that their writing for Arya is anywhere close to what George is writing for her 🥴

Armand: 7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
I think there's some really intelligent meta and fic out there about how trauma informs Armand's actions that's like, straight facts and not woobification.
Because with a character like him it would be so easy for fandom to turn him into some sad little lost doe, perpetual victim, something infantalized and weepy and saccharine. I've seen it in other fandoms where people will see trauma and just blow off 90% of the character's other traits in favor of transforming them into something entirely unlike themselves.
But the thing that got me to interact in VC fandom in the first place was seeing people who acknowledge the things that happened to Armand and how it makes him a character who exists in shades of grey. Not 100% victim, not 100% villain, but something with humanity in him. His experiences have been discussed with care and he's allowed agency and that's really fucking important for keeping him a well rounded, multifaceted character.
