All y’all saying Ezra being the mystery inquisitor in Ahsoka would be “detrimental to his character” seem to be conveniently forgetting that the Grand Inquisitor literally told Kanan :
“The Dark Side. It pulls at him, it calls to him. Eventually, he will be consumed by it.”

Ooooh.... Here's a crack AU I made up ages ago!
So, in this AU, when Ezra was young (like... three, maybe,) there was an accident and his parents were killed. And something happened in that accident that revealed he was Force-sensitive. He was brought to Vader, and Vader sees this child—small, but VERY Force-sensitive, and born almost the exact same day Padme died—and his reaction is just, "SON?????"
So... Ezra grows up believing that Vader is his dad.
Anyway, several years pass. Ezra is about twelve now, and he gets his first mission.
It's on Mandalore.
One of the instructors there is beginning to suspect that Sabine Wren is considering treason. Ezra is sent there, disguised as a new student, to "befriend" Sabine and discover if this is true. It backfires spectacularly!
Ezra decides that Sabine is The Coolest Ever, Actually, and sticks to her like a barnacle. They run away from the Academy together (though Ezra does leave a voicemail for Vader telling him everything is OK. He just doesn't want his dad to worry!)
Ezra says he'd like to go live quietly on Lothal (he doesn't remember it's his home, but something about the name sounds Familiar and Good), but Sabine doesn't want to. She says she'll drop him off and then she'll go and be a bounty hunter, but Ezra, who REALLY doesn't want to lose his new bestie, insists that he could be her bounty hunter apprentice. He's, like, really good at being an apprentice. Honest.
Sabine kind of has it in mind that he's this pathetic kid that she needed to babysit and rescue from the Empire (she doesn't know who he really is; Ezra honestly just forgot to ever mention it), but he convinces her to give it a shot.
So, here's the thing. Ezra was raised by Darth Vader, and though he's not actively evil, Ezra's moral compass is a pinwheel and in his mind, the only reason to not do something is if either Vader or Sabine have specifically said Ezra No That's Bad.
After a lot of bad luck, they finally get a bounty puck, and set off to bring the person in. They get to the planet, and Sabine suggests they split up, because she thinks she'll catch the bounty much faster on her own.
She doesn't.
By the time she realizes she needs to follow the sound of people screaming and running, Ezra has already located, ambushed, and messily dismembered the bounty.
"Did I do good?" Ezra asks eagerly.
Sabine quickly switches mindsets from I have to keep this kid from getting himself killed to I have to keep this kid from having a villain arc.
"Um, are you okay?" Ezra asks. "You look kind of weird."
"I'm fine," Sabine says, smiling nervously. "Y'know, maybe we should just go live quietly on Lothal or something."
As it turns out, "living quietly on Lothal" is fun for about a month (which is how long it takes Sabine to paint the entire inside of the comm tower they've claimed as their headquarters, install bunk beds, dye Ezra's hair, and make mini cardboard mandalorian helmets for the two Loth-cats he brought home.) Then boredom sets in, and Sabine takes to vandalism. Ezra goes with her. He thinks it's almost as fun as bounty hunting.
Ezra also spends time exploring the Force. He's been trained in the Dark side but the peacefulness of Lothal starts to draw him towards the Light. He starts to find an equilibrium.
Sabine and Ezra have the time of their lives.
Then, one afternoon, about a year later, when Sabine and Ezra are working on an art project, Darth Vader barges into the comm tower and demands, "Do you have any idea how much trouble you're in, young man?!"
"Aww, Dad!" Ezra whines. "You never let me do anything!"
In hindsight, Sabine thinks, that explains a lot.

Thinking of another Star War AU I Will Not Write. This time, it’s an Imperial Ghost Crew one:
Sabine Wren fails to escape the Imperial Academy, and is, for some reason, forced into a mentorship program with Hera Syndulla, an extremely competent and talented new ISB agent coming out of a decorated career in the Imperial Navy. Sabine hates her on sight. She attempts to run away at least five times a day (Hera always seems to know where she is), and makes no secret of how much she wants to join the rebel terrorists they are currently hunting. The only upside to the situation is Agent Syndulla's ancient, borderline illegal droid (he doesn't want to go through Imperial reprogramming, and Hera won't make him) who lives for chaos and is absolutely willing to hack into a Star Destroyer’s comm system to blast the Republic anthem and smuggle in smoke bombs.
Hera Syndulla was captured in an Imperial raid when she was a kid (11-12) and placed in an Imperial reeducation facility. She graduated top of her class at the Imperial Fighter Academy and served as one of the Empire's most talented TIE pilots until she was promoted to the ISB. And now she has to wrangle a teenage Mandalorian whose favorite hobbies are high treason and vandalism. Sabine's relentless rebellion starts to change her mind on the Rebellion, especially when Sabine tells her about the Duchess and what the Empire's done to Mandalore.
Chopper, of course, goes where Hera goes, even though the Empire is far too orderly for his tastes. He somehow found her after her capture and reeeducation, and covertly replaced her astromech at the Fighter Academy. He commands an army of Mouse Droids on the Star Destroyer, and takes great pleasure in using them to sneak bugs and smoke bombs into Officer's quarters. In his opinion, Sabine is the best thing that's ever happened to him--she's an excellent gunner, a fellow chaos lover, and she's gotten Hera to loosen up a bit, so it's easier than ever to sneak off with her codes to prank the Admiral.
Ezra was captured with his parents on Lothal and put into Project Harvester, where he was eventually transferred into the Inquisitorius as a Junior Inquisitor. As such, he is extremely repressed. Sabine takes one look at him and decides he's her new best friend, and by the Force she is going to radicalize him. They become fast friends, and are soon the bane of every Senior Officer's existence. But no one can track the mysterious disappearance of all of Admiral Konstantine's pants back to them, of course. They bond over shared Imperial Trauma and eventually decide that they need to get out of here as fast as fucking possible.
Kanan was captured after Order 66 and was tortured into the Inquisitorius, so he's even more emotionally constipated than Ezra. He is Struggling with attempting to parent a teenager because Vader and the Grand Inquisitor's solution to everything was torture, and for some strange reason, he doesn't want to do that with Ezra. Also, he's extremely confused whenever he looks at Hera because he gets Feelings other?? than unquenchable rage??? and he does not know how to process this At All. He ends up covering for Ezra and Sabine's shenanigans because they're just kids and he doesn't want to see them punished. So no, Admiral Konstantine, he has no idea how all the security tapes for your room on the night your pants were stolen disappeared, it's a complete mystery.
Zeb and Kallus are the leaders of the Rebel cell they're trying to capture, because there's absolutely no way Zeb would ever be Imperial. Kallus and Hera were friends back at the Imperial Academy so they've got that best friends to enemies dynamic, and Zeb and Kanan have a really old rivalry--Zeb has a habit of sneaking Force Sensitive kids out of the Empire's reach, and Kanan's been halfheartedly hunting him for years. They are absolutely kriffing, and keep asking Hera and Kanan when they're going to finally do it. Kanan is so embarrassed he can't speak, and Hera looks straight down for so long that the rebels make their getaway unchallenged.

I’d like if people would actually realize Ezra being the mystery Inquisitor in the Ahsoka series is a legitimate possibility instead of just telling people who believe the theory how stupid they are. (Twitter im looking at you.)

sorry y'all, it's taking me so so long to finish the TRAU fic, here have a snippet of it while you wait
---
First Sister was the right hand of Lord Vader himself and had more influence than even the Grand Inquisitor, and yet here she was, hurling herself around the struts of a skyscraper-in-construction, trying to catch a teenager who had suddenly regressed to the immaturity of a five-year-old.
This was embarrassing.
The wind whistled fiercely up here, biting through even the insulated uniform she wore and giving her goosebumps as she followed Youngest Brother out onto the thin strut. She spread her arms out for balance as an especially hard gust of wind made the entire structure creak and twist.
Steadying herself, First Sister hollered, “I’m not kidding, Youngest Brother! Get back here right now!”
“Come and get me,” he taunted, sauntering backwards ahead of her, as if he wasn’t balancing on a strip of durasteel two inches wide with a hundred foot drop beneath him.
“You had better believe I will!”
“No, you won’t!” He reached the other end of the strut, alighting on the thicker beam, and crossed his arms stubbornly. “And I won’t be attending that preposterous ball!”
First Sister calculated the distance between the far strut and her position. Youngest Brother’s presence was bursting with overconfidence that she couldn’t make the jump.
She made the jump.
With one hand, First Sister snagged the supporting upright beam beside him, to keep her balance, and with the other hand, she grabbed him by the scruff of his coat.
“Yes, you will,” she told him. “And you’re going to stop this ridiculous—HEY!”
Youngest Brother unzipped his coat and dropped out of it, catching himself on the beams a story below with a mocking jeer.
“Tough luck, Sister!”
First Sister wasted no time jumping down after him, but he was already running off down the beam.
Maybe it was time to try another tactic.
“You know, when I was your age, I loved parties!” she coaxed, following him slowly as he began to ascend once more.
“Then you were strange.” Youngest Brother swung from a beam like a gymnast, flipping around to crouch atop it.
Well, fine. She’d just keep chasing him then.
“I refuse to be dressed up like a doll—” He jumped higher, still one pace ahead of First Sister, ascending another level. “I refuse to wear that silly outfit—”
“I guess that’s fair,” First Sister muttered, crouching and then leaping up two levels, swinging herself to balance beside him on the bar and making a grab for his arm. Youngest Brother saw it coming and sprung, sailing through the air over a wide gap in the beams—it seemed this level of the building would have some kind of a large rotunda—and landing with a little wobble on the other side.
“—I refuse to do the ISB’s job for them, and above all, I refuse to go to Leia Organa’s masquerade ball!” he shouted across the gap, raising his voice so she could hear him over the whipping wind that howled even louder at this elevation.

I was a bit stressed yesterday, who knew going over ideas for an "evil Kanan AU" would have such relaxing qualities 😭
Midnight ideas under the cut ~
Tumblr media
I feel like it could go both ways, the Empire killing Kanan or converting him - killing certainly saves time, but I feel like at this point there aren't that many Inquisitors left, with Cal hanging around, and there is the connection to his crew - would throw them off focus when they see the man they left for dead - imagine the angst potential
Why Malachor well, everyone was kinda there at one point heh. Plus, I think this could very well end up with Kanan still being blinded- but that's for another day.
Also Ezra doesn't have his scars, he never went after Kanan = the Grand Inquisitor never got the drop on him.
Aight, that's it for my nerd out.

Inquisitor Ezra
Tumblr media
So I’ve been on a Star Wars hyper fixation lately, specifically Star Wars Rebels, and wanted to draw something so here’s inquisitor Ezra
(Also am I the only one who low key wanted to see Ezra turn to the dark side? Idk I think it would have made for an interesting arc :p)

"Sometimes we have to do what's right regardless of our personal feelings."
Hmm...
Ahsoka tells a rebellious young woman that she can't put the safety of the man who is her closest companion, fellow Rebel, and who she is clearly in love with, over the mission...
Where have I heard that before?
Oh.
