When you get to a point in fiber arts where you start wanting to learn other crafts just so that you can better make what you're making, that's when you know you're screwed
I keep eyeing inkle looms because I need to make woven straps for the handspun crochet bags I keep making and the knit icord strap is so annoying to make. And I will never know peace until I can make the Perfect Bags.

Why spend time doing things like "writing my dissertation " when instead I could be making a shoelace

NEW LOOM!
It's quite a bit bigger than my last one and I want to get an idea of how many yards I can make at a time! Of course, this means I have to warp the most complex thing I've ever made with a pattern I've never tried that I sketched on the margins of my barony business meeting notes.
I have no clue if it's going to look the way I want, with this color set I really can't go WRONG though so it's gonna be cool at least.

Guess who got an inkle loom! This is as far as I've gotten weaving on it, but it's so much fun. So fast! So satisfying! I picked a really simple pattern for my first one, but I can already tell there will be more.
Since the place I get my supplies (and this loom) from also had a sale on discontinued cotton..thread? yarn? Whatever it's called, it was half price and I now have 20,000 metres of it (about 12.5 miles), so oh yes, there will be more.

Tried my hand at Inkle and Card weaving.
The second photo is of my inkle weaving, tension is all over the place. My mother did the card weaving and is much more consistent... and strong enough to make a belt!

I’m gonna weave myself some suspenders. (Important first step: warping the damn loom wrong.)

Trans flag woven band on an inkle loom! The cotton crochet thread I used makes it so surprisingly strong

My partner (@it-is-no-use) got me some new tablets to try, which just arrived today, so I warped up my loom with a short band to try them out, and to try out the swivels. They both worked great!

Two meters of Inkle loom plain weave took me only a few days to finish --that's being very careful with keeping the edges even-- unlike my other projects which usually take a month or so. 😅
I hope my sister likes this bag strap. I also hope the length is ok for her to use. The adjustable range is 1-2 meters.
