Halloween prompt year 2 day 13
"Please stop..." the teen pleaded and Bruce felt his heart clench. He was strapped down to a metal table like a frog being readied for dissection and it took everything Bruce had to not rush over and free him.
The chanting started up again and the boy started screaming, from pain or rage he wasn't sure. All he knew was that the fluids leaking from his and Salinas sons mouth and eyes looked far too similar to the Lazarus waters. The exorcism continued, with Constantine, Zatanna, and Raven all doing everything they could to back up the Exorcist as Danny convulsed on the table, more and more of the odd green goo oozing from his body. It was coming out of his ears and nose now, as well as his pores, giving the sweat on his body a sickly green sheen.
"This is number three!" The exorcist shouted, holding his object of power into the air, "I command you to go back to the damned!" The object was lowered with the intention of touching the boys forehead. The boy desperately tilted his head in an vain attempt to escape from it and Batman forced himself to clench his fists to keep himself from rushing over and helping his son. He hadn't even known Danny existed, having had another son hidden from him by a woman he had loved. He understands why Salina had did it. She must have been early on in the pregnancy with him when Jason had been killed.
She must have thought Bruce couldn't protect her or thier son.
She was right.
But Bruce was here now and he wanted his son to be free of whatever this 'Pit demon' wanted from him. "John. How much longer-"
*Booom*
His question was cut short by an explosion rocking the entirety of the building, forcing him and John to rush to the force of the blast and leave the other behind to complete the ritual
This turned out to be a mistake as it was just a diversion.
Bruce glared at the beast. The werewolf esqe being was holding his sons unconscious form in his arms. Its claws were sharp, long and thin like someone had attached a senbon to the end of each of the creatures fingers. Its teeth weren't much better, all long and needle sharp like something out of a nightmare. The beast, even from this distance, kept is gaze locked onto his own as it slowly backed away into the portal behind it, its clothes and black fur flowing unnaturally with its movements. In moments both the creature and the portal were gone.
So that was a pit demon.
Regardless, Bruce approached the place the portal had been. He would get his son back.
He swore it.

considering that he's been living on his own since he was a kid (iirc i cpupd be wrong dont kill me) could he have like?? stunted growth???
the only other urchin in the game is murch who is also considerably taller than the player despite i think only being 2-3 years older (and also not an adult like spyke is so theres a chance he goes through some big growth spurt) and also, he doesnt look nearly as scrawny as the old man (loving) in the inkopolis alley so??????!!??

watched uhh dorothy returns ro wizard of oz (2013) and i'd give it a 6.5/10 in general but entertainment wise i'd give it an 8.5 (tbf i was watching it with my brother idk how i'd rate it if i was alone) theres a part where they need a boat and dorothy snaps a piece of wood off a tree who yells in pain and then every tree there starts throwing rocks and acorns at her but then it cuts to a tree hunched over and hes like "take me... take me." and i csnt properly explain why it's so unbelievably funny. the line delivery makes him sound so accepting like he's really willing to die to help dorothy get a boat and i can't stop thinking about it
#also watched dino king. uh. 29 minutes in my brother and i thought it was gonna end soon so we paused and saw we still had an hour left#and we both visibly went HUH??? and i was like are we gonna power through this movie or watch khumba......and he chose to power through#for a dinosaur movie it's not bad i actually really like what they tried going for? ie using footage of real landscape and cgi-ing dinos#in it to make it seem like it's Real Life. obviously the cgi is so very noticable but they did pretty good👍🏼#when speckles (main character) fell into water instead of cgi-ing the water the dropped something irl but put his model over ir#which i find neat i didnt think they'd do that. kinda sad at the lack of blood when the dinos would kill each other#also speckles' family dies which i expected and when the timeskip happens and he finds a girl and then she dies i expected however i did no#expect them to kill two out of three kids like i'm glad junior survived but god damn after the first one died i was hoping the last two#would survive at the very least. also fuck one eyed i thought he was just survivng at first but no he literally started beef#with a one year old dinosaur baby and decided Yeah Im Gonna Ruin Your Life Forever Buddy#my brother and i when speckles finally kills one eyed: yoooo YOOOOOO#movie would have heen better with like 98% more blood but when they did sue blood they used both cgi and fake irl#which i'll admit was kinda cool#fuck you one eye i fucking hate you#ok anywaus we tried watching khumba but didnt bc it was getting late so we watched the first 20mins and then skipped to the end#i think it wouldve been a nice movie? i have no idea but i mean i didnt hate what i saw#if you guys rver wanna watch a movie just got to free with ads on youtube ive been obsessing over those for months now#btw dino movies are very boring to me i forgot to add that. so yeah dino king IS boring to me but i had fun

Fun fact: empathy is a lie and you do not need it at all to be a good person or to help someone

But the only other members with Normal ideas about dungeoneering as a job have quit, and the remaining bunch of autists with their wildly eccentric and badly communicated personal goals/boundaries are RAPIDLY "we're like a family here~"ing themselves towards catastrophic misunderstandings, workplace incidents, and/or federal crimes. So for all that he's private or abrasive...
...he spends a lot of energy trying to protect everyone's boundaries and keep the peace. Not just in a ~found family~ loving way, but in a more fundamental way, understanding that work takes trust, and trust takes work.

Just remembered I applied to an electrical engineering course last night slightly as a joke but mostly seriously and now I may or may not get contacted by these people 😵💫
#i had one of those moments that i have from time to time where basically i remembered my job contract ends in september and i panicked#and my friend was like ‘you should learn a trade!’ so then i was running through each one and doing a process of elimination to decide which#to do. i was like ‘okay so plumbing is kind of gross; i’m too clumsy for joinery or construction… electricity scares me but i feel like if i#actually LEARNED about the processes of being an electrician it wouldn’t scare me’#so then i literally searched ‘electrician course’ and applied for one at the nearest college#idk if i should actually do it. i mean on the one hand it could be really good and work well; but on the other…… like i really doubt they#have any type of support for mature students so i’d be paying for this course out of pocket#and idk how much it costs. like. do i want to spend literally all the wages i make barista-ing on learning to become an electrician#and what happens if i hate it??#also i’m like 99% certain everyone else on the course is going to be insufferable teenage boys and do i want to be an unpaid TA#for an unspecified amount of time#maybe i should see if i can just do an online course to get the theory & then do an apprenticeship from there. would anyone even hire me#as an apprentice though??? would that whole process be awful. apprentice wages are legit terrible#it’s just one of various ideas though#plan A is to convince my current job to hire me permanently; either in my current role or an office job#plan B is learn to be an electrician maybe. plan C is fuck off and travel the world. maybe work on a cruise ship idk#or do one of those volunteer conservation projects and see if that leads to anything#plan D is random side gigs e.g. temping/invigilating/audio transcription/etc#plan E is [redacted]#so. yeah#personal
