MADNESS WITHIN (Short Film Mini-Review)

Oooh, now we're cookin'! The next Fayetteville Film Festival work I was able to track down is called Madness Within, a short horror film, and horror is one of my favorite genres for pretty much any medium. :)

Running about 13 minutes, I wouldn't want to spoil the twist of the story, but I will say I liked the characters, they felt interesting and nuanced, and while the story does touch on religion it thankfully doesn't fall into the crappy trope of "ooh, the bad guy was the devil all along, we need jesus to save the day!"

The creators, Nowhere Now Productions, also have another free-to-watch short horror film on their channel which I enjoyed as well. According to the Instagram page, they've got a third short film called "Where Is It" as well, but I haven't found any means to purchase or view it as of yet. I'd love the opportunity to see it sometime and support these local horror creators if possible, it's good stuff so far!

I wrote and produced See Me during a time of intense grief. My grandmother had just passed away and I had lost a nearly 2 decade friendship. I felt unseen, unheard and betrayed. These kinds of breakups aren’t grieved enough and aren’t talked about enough in music, so I wrote See Me for those that have been hurt in friendships you thought were forever.

I’m thankful for my friends Elizabeth Hatfield and Whitney Davis for helping me create this music video.

See Me comes out on all platforms with a self made music video FRIDAY!

If there’s an old/older and obscure film you can’t find among streaming service hell, is impossible to get on DVD and don’t feel up to going Arrr! and getting a VPN and buffing up your ad block.

Check archive.org. No adverts and free. Quality isn’t going to be super HD but it’ll be watchable.

#it’s how me and shadow do our weekly movie watching #I don’t condone putting films on by new Indy film makers and small studios without permission who #who need streaming service eyeballs and dvd sales to keep making films #but watching Killdozer or that Return to Oz film isn’t going to cause anyone an issue tbh #and don’t like yell about any Mouse films on there too loudly like we know what the mouse is like
