I love your parenting series! I know Steve and Eddie lied to the girls about smoking but I imagine they have a picture of them from when they were dating and they’re holding cigs in the pictures and the girls are like “you did smoke! See!” And Steve’s trying to come up with an excuse
HA this is so great
So here’s the thing – the girls had already seen photo evidence of their dads smoking. They just don’t remember because they’d been little at the time.
Steve had just told them that their dad used to have long hair when he was a teenager, and, of course, they’d demanded proof, so Steve produced for them a very old picture, probably taken not too long after Eddie had been released from the hospital in '86. Nancy had taken the picture, he's pretty sure, and in it, Robin is standing on her toes, her arms around Steve and Eddie's shoulders. Steve is grinning at the camera, a cigarette hanging loosely from his fingers while Robin and Eddie glare at each other for a reason Steve could no longer recall, and, indeed, his hair is still long and wild.
While Robbie is giggling at her dad’s long hair, Moe leans closer to the picture.
Moe, pointing to Steve’s cigarette: What’s that?
Steve and Ed hadn’t exactly discussed how they’d broach those subjects with their daughters just yet (and Moe is only 8, practically a baby, in Steve’s opinion, and he’s definitely not ready to think about her drinking and smoking and sneaking out and all that teenager shit), so he immediately swipes the photo away, replacing it with another one for the girls to laugh at and then he goes through all their old photos and pulls out the more questionable ones to buy himself and Eddie some time to figure things out.
Years later, when Moe is 19 or 20, she’s hanging out with her dad and going through a box of old photos she’s never seen before when she comes across that picture Steve had shown her and Robbie when they were little.
Moe looks at the photo, looks at her dads and her Auntie Robin when they were the same age she is now, looks at their young faces and ponders these versions of them that she never got to know.
And then she looks closer.
Moe: Oh, you were so full of shit!
Steve:
Steve: Excuse me?
Moe: You and Dad always said you never smoked a day in your life.
Moe: What the fuck is that, Pop?
She points to the cigarette in Steve's hand.
Cue Steve spluttering about how things were different in the 80s and how nobody knew how bad they were at the time and how he and Eddie had basically quit at that point, his excuses falling on mostly deaf ears.

alright I know I talk shit about stellarlune quite a bit, but one thing I unironically liked was the ending bit with the dagger. not only did keefe try to stab his mom with it, but fitz trusted keefe's plan enough to steal it from sophie and give it to him. fitz checked on keefe telepathically first, before anyone else. he was the one who payed attention and offered him help, instead of acting like it was a shitty plan. something something he understands keefes urge to try to end it. he knows what it feels like. he watched alvar (almost) drown in that tank and did nothing. he put aside all their recent drama with sophie to help his friend with something only he can truly understand. this is like. the first time in a while that they've acted like actual best friends. agh.

Y'know, I never liked Hanson even when they were big. But I didn't start actively hating them until a decade passed, and then two, and now we're creeping close to thirty years since it came out, and my brain still just randomly out of nowhere goes
MMBOP dah dah mmBOP
and I want to throw the very concept of that song into a fire.
Anyway enjoy the earworm~

Just saying, I am completely willing to give John Finnemore all the credit for everything I like about Good Omens S2 and blame Neil Gaiman for everything that I think was a mistake
Unfair/irrational absent proof? Maybe. I don't care, gonna do it anyway.

hey uh no offence but when a famous person cheats on their spouse it always sits kind of weird with me when people treat it as if they were just caught doing sex crimes or something. like infidelity is often received as being as or more severe than sexual assault or harassment or domestic violence.
like don't get me wrong AT ALL. cheating on your partner is an extremely shitty and cruel thing to do in most situations. but it's also. a very interpersonal thing. like are you justified for despising someone for cheating ON YOU? yeah for sure. but this is not your marriage is not your partner and you're not the one hurt.
and maybe that's a lack of imagination on my part. but idk cheating feels so much more personal than most Cancelable Offences. bc like for real it's not your marriage, it's a complex issue, and it's not an act of direct violence. different people will cheat for different reasons and different people will respond to being cheated on differently.
(and also sometimes it's not even cheating bc can we look at the vitriol leveled at Jada Pinkett-Smith for 'infidelity' when she and her husband were in a consensual non-monogamy situation by all accounts?)
cheating on your partner is a shitty thing to do but it doesn't, imo, indicate that you're a Danger To Those Around You like for example sexual harassment does. you did a lot of harm to your partner and they will need support and friendship through that. but to people outside this relationship and who don't know you personally like. how is this their business???

Mile has said it's a give and take relationship hence he has to give and put effort if truly wants to be close to apo. He describes apo as a horse that will either kick you or give you a experience of a lifetime. That tells me apo doesn't let just anyone in and is very guarded so mile's actions spoke volumes to apo. Mile's gentle approach won him over and in return he gave back. Their relationship is delicate because it's full of dedication and understanding. Its one were both are equals.
Yeah! Mile talked about it at the Kisfarger event. I posted about it here 😍
I think Apo’s personality is a lot like a horse, very strong. When a horse is not familiar with a person, it’ll kick you, but after you get to know it and earn its trust, the horse can take you to so many great places. Apo is a very bright and cheerful person with high energy, similar to horse.
Apo comes off to me as a kind of person who is able to make a space feel inviting when he's On ™️. But just because he makes you feel close to Apo-the-public-figure doesn't mean he's close to you or you are to him, Apo the person.
ALSO Mile speaks of the horse metaphor with personal knowledge. Did y'all know he's an award medalling equestrian? I CAN'T BELIEVE MILE IS ALSO A CANON HORSE GIRL THIS MAN IS UNREAL
Tumblr media
Spooking a horse sounds like a horrifying experience, as someone who's ridden a horse like one (1) time in my life.
We've often seen glimpses of how Apo at work / in front of the camera is not the same as private Apo. That's not artifice, I'm not the same person at work as I am in private tho neither version of me are fake. But you can be a person who has ridden a horse or you can a person who handles a horse and has a relationship with it. And if you're the horse whisperer, you better be ready to put up the work up front first.
Mile knows that that kind of hard work in relationships pays off.

i got feedback from the teacher and other teachers talk about me (i mean they talk about everyone in the course), and there are apparently two takeaways from that
1. everyone thinks im gonna crush the final exam if i only learn more German, which frankly is nice to hear
2. i have a condescending resting bitch face

this is the first summer in a long time I've wanted to see so many movies in theatres. I've got tickets for three different upcoming things and only two of them are on Tuesday.
