Just decided to post some of my old 3D models - they were all made as mobs for Impressive Title game. I was trying to create my own world in this game, creating locations and creatures. They were all very simple and barely interactive, but it became a strong inspiration for me to finally build my world into something more or less whole. Before that, all I had was many pieces of random ideas, but this game inspired me for bring my own world to life, and was also my first motivation to learn Blender (although the old blender and its interface was really confusing).
Not all, but many ideas from this old game are still part of my world - such as the cold Narr-Vaan desert and Shayfkha forest. Some old creatures also still live in my world, although sometimes I change and improve their details and lore.
Memories of this game inspired me to make new models for my creatures, and also to try to return a simpler and more sincere attitude to worldbuilding, working with this in a natural way for me personally.

The design is mostly inspired by my favorite childhood games: "Impressive Title" and "Feral Heart"! (hello, fellow players if there's any still out there!)

Two wandering Vaerafes found an ancient obelisk, a memorial to their ancestors.
This is the same simple obelisk model that I made years ago for the game (last picture), and in many ways this game was an important beginning of their whole world. There was an idea of an endless white desert called Narrasteaf-Vaan, which is rather a cold desert than a hot one, filled with a sense of loneliness and timelessness, and such obelisks were supposed to be a kind of beacons and telegraph poles. They are connected to each other, and Vaerafes used them for navigation and a kind of remote communication with each other. (However, in the game they were just decorative, because lack of programming skills didn't allow me to implement all my ideas)
It's interesting what Vaerafes think when they find such an obelisk... for them, it really is like an ancient structure, which was touched by the hands of their polygonal ancestors from the old game.
(New renders are made in blender, and an old screenshot is from a game based on the source code of "Impressive Title")

feralheart and impressive title players: with ogre being such a niche and weird engine, why do you think no one has made a game in that style using unreal or unity?? has someone done this and it just didn't take off???
