There is no doubt that Alhaitham is popular. Incredibly popular, in fact but not that you could blame them. Who wouldn’t fall victim to his handsome, stoic and quiet personality? It goes without saying that he has gathered a concerning figure of fans. Heck, there was even a fanclub made just for him. Dating the famous guy on campus proved to be a difficult task for you, since you have to restrain yourself from jumping on them whenever they looked at your boyfriend with a dreamy expression.
No one knew that you were dating, no one other than your circle of friends of course. It was thanks to Kaveh barging into his roommate’s room without knocking the door, only to stumble upon the sight of Alhaitham hovering over you on the bed and the rest was history. Although, you were glad that your peers have known about your relationship, as it proves to be a difficult task trying to keep it low.
“Hey, look. She’s trying again,” Cyno nudges you with his elbow, pointing ahead of him and you follow his direction with your eyes.
The sight before you greets you with distaste and faint jealousy. It was none other than the newly-transferred student, approaching your boyfriend and attempting to engage him in a conversation. Keyword: attempting. Everyone knew how Alhaitham was; ignoring the public but when it comes to you, his focus was entirely on you; like you were the only one that matters to him. Kaveh sniggered; amused with how Alhaitham was ignoring the student, focused on reading his book.
“Don’t you get tired of people chasing after your boyfriend?” Kaveh asked, reaching out to steal your fries, only to flinch when you slapped his hand away.
“No, not really. In fact, I found it funny and chose to watch for my entertainment,” you shrugged your shoulders, focused on observing the scene unfold itself from the sidelines.
None of you could hear what the student was saying, due to the distance between the two of you but you could tell she was starting to become irritated, judging from the way she furrowed her eyebrows and her lips curling downwards. The next thing you knew, she had the audacity to pull him back when Alhaitham was about to leave. The mere sight of their hands touching made you see red. You shot up from your seat, startling your friends and they watched, dumbfounded as you stormed your way towards them.
“Uh, do you think we should stop (Name)?” Kaveh asked, getting worried about what’s about to happen.
“Nah, this is going to be good,” Cyno shook his head, pulling out his phone and getting ready to record the chaos. Tighnari merely lets out an exasperated sigh, feeling a headache forming.
“...think you are doing? Let me go,” Alhaitham’s annoyed voice rung through your ears as you got closer to them.
The student huffs, standing her ground and meets his eyes with a defiant gaze in them. “Look, why are you not interested in me? I can be anything you want and besides, there’s no harm in giving us a try.”
Alhaitham scowls, eyes narrowing. “I’m afraid you’re misunderstanding something. There is no us.”
“But-”
“Hey, do you mind letting him go?” You interrupted, standing behind the girl and flashed her a closed-eye smile; a smile that was anything but friendly.
You saw how your boyfriend’s eyes widened slightly, surprised to see you but you ignored him, focused on getting rid of the unwanted presence standing between the two of you. The student fully turned, eyeing you up and down with disgust written all over her face.
“And who are you supposed to be? We’re having a conversation here,” she asked.
You arched an eyebrow. “I’m his girlfriend, you dumb bitch. Don’t make me repeat myself: let him go.”
It seems like she was more stubborn than you thought, for she didn't believe your words and laughed. “You’re his girlfriend? Yeah right, like I believe that.”
Humming, you walked around her to stand beside Alhaitham. You could see how your friends were looking at you from the corner of your eyes. At this point, everyone nearby was looking at you and why not put on a little show for them? Without warning, you grabbed your boyfriend by the collar of his shirt, harshly tugging him down and kissed him fully on the lips. Your abrupt action elicited a high-pitched scream from Kaveh and a round of startled sounds from the public. If you listened closely, you could make out the faint cheering sound from Cyno.
The kiss ended as fast as it happened, much to Alhaitham’s disappointment. When you pulled away, you were greeted with the satisfying sight of the student staring at you, rendered speechless. Her eyes were wide open to the point they might have popped out from its sockets. You smiled and shot her an arrogant grin.
“Well? Does that answer your question?” You taunt.
Utterly humiliated in front of everyone, she had no choice but to flee the scene. The nearby people soon went back to minding their business once the drama had ended, and the two of you returned to where your friends were.
“Wow, I didn’t know you had that in you. Not bad,” Kaveh gave you a thumbs-up before turning to his roommate who sat down beside you.
“So Alhaitham, how does it feel now that your relationship is exposed?” He asked.
“I don’t see how it’s any of your business,” he retorted, his hand moving to rest on your thigh underneath the table; hidden from everyone’s eyes.
“Tch, you and that shitty personality of yours,” the blond grumbled, making you laugh.
“All’s well that ends well. Hopefully no one will dare to confess to you anymore,” you pointed out and your words made a faint smirk form on Alhaitham’s handsome face.
“Don’t tell me you were jealous,” he taunts, faint mischief glimmered in his eyes.
“I was not,” you defended yourself, hating how he had turned the tables on you.
“Uh huh, whatever you say love,” he nods his head, obviously not buying your lie.
The sudden pet name used made your cheeks flushed red followed by Kaveh making disgusted sounds in front of the two of you. “Ew, you two should get a room.”
“We did but due to a certain someone, our time-”
“Alhaitham!”

Minnesota’s Institute on Community Integration features several Think College achievements in their latest issue of Impact Magazine
Impact Magazine at the Institute on Community Integration (ICI Minnesota) is a triannual publication focused on issues that impact people with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities. Several staff and consultants from the Institute for Community Inclusion’s (ICI Boston) Think College authored publications in this Spring 2022 issue. Think College Co-Director Meg Grigal and Susanna Miller Raines, Program Manager for Think College Inclusive Higher Education Network, co-edited this compelling issue on Inclusive Higher Education for People with Intellectual, Developmental, and Other Disabilities.
What is Think College all about?
Think College is a national center at the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI) at UMass Boston. Since 2003, Think College has received 15 federal and state grants to work on issues that impact postsecondary education for students with intellectual disability (ID). Think College is also a call to action. The Think College team raises awareness, enhances existing college opportunities, and creates more opportunities for students with ID to go to college. Cate Weir, Project Coordinator at the Think College National Coordinating Center, wrote Think College! A Program and a Mantra about what Think College means for inclusive higher education.
Assessing Inclusive Higher Ed Programs
Think College’s Co-director, Meg Grigal and Senior Research Associate, Clare Papay co-wrote Inclusive Higher Education: Assessing Progress Toward Better Futures for College Students with Intellectual Disabilities with David R. Johnson from the University of Minnesota. This article highlights model demonstration programs called Transition and Postsecondary Education Programs for Students with Intellectual Disability (TPSID), which emphasize supporting students to enroll in typical college courses alongside peers without intellectual disability (ID). Over two-thirds of students who enrolled in TPSID programs had a paid job three years after graduating. But not all inclusive higher education programs receive TPSID funding! Read or listen to the full article to learn more about assessing progress in inclusive higher ed.

Accreditation in inclusive higher education will help prospective students and their families measure programs’ quality.
Accreditation for Inclusive Higher Ed Programs
Think College consultant and Senior Policy Advisor for the National Down Syndrome Congress Stephanie Smith Lee co-wrote Accreditation Moves Forward with Martha Mock from the University of Rochester. Accreditation is important for all university programs, including inclusive higher education programs. Accreditation helps assure students, families, colleges, and universities that an inclusive higher education program meets an acceptable level of quality. Read or listen to the full article to learn more about accreditation. Visit Think College’s website to access training modules and materials to help programs meet accreditation standards.
Regional Alliances to Support Inclusive Higher Ed
Inclusive higher education benefits from stakeholder alliances, including groups of representatives from various inclusive higher education programs, key state agencies, organizations, parents, alumni, and students. These alliances can help create learning communities and shared funding opportunities for like-minded inclusive higher education advocates. Learn more about state and regional alliances in Susanna Miller-Raines’ article, The Collective Impact of State and Regional Alliances to Support Inclusive Higher Education. Miller-Raines is the Regional Alliances Manager for the Think College Inclusive Higher Education Network.

A MAICEI student meeting with an education coach at University of Massachusetts Boston.
The Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative
Students with ID often stay in high school until age 22, four years longer than their peers who graduate at 18. But students with ID can also graduate at 18 and go to college with their classmates. The Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative (MAICEI) provides access and supports that lead to academic, social, and career development success for eligible students with ID alongside their non-disabled peers enrolled in Massachusetts public 2- and 4-year colleges and universities. The MAICEI program gives students with ID the extra support they may need to attend college and complete high school at the same time. ICI Program Director Maria Paiewonsky, Debra Hart, ICI’s Director of Education and Transition, and Mary Price, State Director for the MAICEI at the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education co-wrote Massachusetts Inclusive Concurrent Enrollment Initiative about the MAICEI program and promising practices that lead to its success.
Student MAICEI Perspective: Nykenge Blue
UMass Boston-MAICEI Partnership Program Coordinator Ashley Luce spoke with Nykenge Blue, a transfer student at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Nykenge transferred from Bunker Hill Community College last year. “Transferring from community college to university hasn’t been easy,” she shared, “It has taken a little longer to get to know people, but I’m proud of myself for getting around campus after just one semester.” Nykenge has taken food history and communication classes at UMass while interning in the food court. Read or listen to the full conversation with Nykenge and Ashley in Campus Conversations.
Student MAICEI Perspective: Samantha Gibbs
ICI’s Maria Paiewonsky spoke with Samantha Gibbs, a first-year student at Salem State University in Salem, Massachusetts, who receives support from MAICEI. Of her experience navigating the college campus, Samantha shared, “You learn to be flexible. You expect your day to go one way, but really it is going the other way. Sometimes you plan to meet someone on campus, and you might get lost. Then you need to find help. One time I was lost on campus, and I had to ask other students for directions.” Read or listen to the full conversation with Samantha and Maria in Campus Conversations.

Can't decide whether I prefer Neuvillette looking like an old man (white hair + grandpa demeanour + dad vibes for all the melusine) or if I like him looking like a pretty, youthful model (super young by dragon years + in game model baby-face + actually very inexperienced in human conduct = immature?)
All the fanart I see kind of just picks one but idkkkk,,, I sort of enjoy the idea that he's kinda young looking but talks and acts very very old because, you know, in human terms he is very old. And everyone in Fontaine is used to it cos they all know he's not human and appearance ≠ reality. But people usually see him from pretty far away in the Opera house, so they can only see the white hair and hear his old man voice. So when he rarely does show up in person the public has a jumpscare of "oh not literally a grandpa huh uh oh".
And he definitely doesn't look like teenage or twenties, even youthful Neuvillette has gotta be like late thirties earliest. Mature but not actually as old as anyone would expect.

Finding old articles about Michael J. Fox is so funny because it's all
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(that last one especially gets me because it's like: Here's an actor who can set a good example for kids. But. But hey. You know what else?? He's short. So kids are the only ones who can--literally--look up to him. Hehehe)
I mean, kudos to him for taking it in stride because the majority of interviews I've come across from the 80s take time to make note that "Hey, Michael J. Fox is very short. Just 5'4". Very small. He's a little guy. Did we mention that he is not tall, and is, in fact, quite short?? Because he is."

૮₍ ˃ ⤙ ˂ ₎ა • lyney + gn reader mutual pinning friends to lovers ☆ warning proofread by @riekiss paimon and traveler being the best wingpeople(?) . . . !? & 1228 — catalogue
notes. i finally finished lyney's story quest and lyney, what are we??? i might have went overboard and ended this with 1.2k wc...
Tumblr media
“Wait, you got another Rainbow Rose today? This isn’t a coincidence! You have gotten yourself a secret admirer, (Name)!” Paimon exclaimed, her high-pitched voice made you winced and gained a few annoyed glares flung your way from the nearby customers.
“Shh, Paimon! Lower your volume!” You hurriedly shushed her.
Realization hit her. Her eyes widened as she gasped, covering her mouth with her tiny hands. The Traveler merely rolled their eyes. “There’s no point in covering your mouth, Paimon. The cat’s already out of the bag.”
Groaning, you rested your head on your arms. “Will it be foolish of me to assume the Rainbow Rose is sent by Ly-”
“Ah, ah. Stop right there,” the Traveler interrupted, raising a hand to stop you from finishing your sentence. “I know what you want to say and honestly, I think you should just confess.”
“Huh!?”
You shot up from your seat like you have been struck by lightning, only to hiss when your knees hit the table underside. The brief contact made your teacups and empty plates jump. You whimpered, clutching your knee as you rubbed the now sore spot. The Traveler and Paimon shared an amused glance, doing a poor job in concealing their snickers.
“Telling me to confess is easier said than done. I can’t just walk up to him and say, ‘Oh hi Lyney, I actually like you.’ Do you think I’m that brave?” You let out a laugh.
“No no, I'd rather go through a trial than confess.”
“Trust me, going through a trial is even worse,” they deadpanned, shuddering as memories flashes in their mind and Paimon nodded in agreement.
You sighed, downing the remains of your now cold tea and got up. “Well, thanks for being such great help, you two. I’ll see you around.”
“You’re welcome. Although, I still think you should confess!” The Traveler raised their voice slightly when you began to walk away, only for you to sprint down the streets, leaving a trail of dust in your wake.
A few days passed ever since your conversation with the Traveler and Paimon. You have been receiving Rainbow Roses whenever you step out of your home. It became a daily occurrence and you have collected all of them, taking extra great care in ensuring they are in tip-top condition.
One day, you were leaving your home earlier than usual to purchase some required equipment, only to catch a certain magician red-handed.
The two of you stared at one another: one in utter shock and the other in embarrassment. The atmosphere around you was extremely tense and awkward, to the point one could slice it into half with a butter knife. You were gaping like a fish, eyes widening that it might have popped out from its sockets. Lyney was the first to regain his composure, clearing his throat and pulling his hat down to shield his eyes.
“Hi (Name), lovely weather we’re having, right?” He sheepishly laughed, still holding a Rainbow Rose in his left hand.
“Lyney, you-”
“Well, I guess it’s time I get going then! I need to, uh, walk my fish,” he continued, turning and was ready to make his escape but you were faster.
“Lyney, wait!”
You shot out your hand, managing to grab his elbow before the magician could vanish from your sight. It was a touch so subtle, yet it sent a cascade of sensations through Lyney, catching him off-guard. His heart, typically steadfast and composed, suddenly fluttered like a startled bird.
He felt a gentle jolt of nervous excitement, a sensation he hadn’t experienced in his life. The contact was brief, but it left an indelible impression on him, like a spell casted not with words or incantations, but with a simple touch.
Turning around, Lyney didn’t expect to see your face flushed in a light but adorable shade of red. With how the sunlight was shining down on you, it grants him the privilege of witnessing you embarrassed and nervous. He instantly averted his eyes, feeling like a high school teenager getting ready to confess to his crush.
You sighed, releasing your grip from his elbow once you were certain he wouldn’t run. “Lyney, were you the one who has been leaving Rainbow Roses at my doorstep?”
“...No?”
“You know there’s no point in lying when there’s one held in your hand, right?” You deadpanned, pointing at the flower.
Lyney coughed. “Maybe this was given to me by Lynette.”
“Lyney.”
“Fine, I surrender. Yes, I was the one who has been leaving Rainbow Roses at your doorstep. Charlotte had told me the meaning of the flower.”
“The meaning? And what is it?” You dared to ask, not wanting to jump to a conclusion as you wanted to hear the words from him. Your heart pounds rapidly against your chest as you wait in anticipation.
Lyney raised his head and looked at you in the eyes, his features softening. “It means romantic encounters and if you’d allow me to be blunt: I like you, (Name). I really do.”
You felt like your breath had been sucked out of your lungs the moment you heard his confession. The entire world came to a stop, your surroundings turning blurred. Heartbreak and uncertainty glimmered in Lyney’s eyes when he saw your silence, registering it as a rejection. He forced a smile on his face.
“Perhaps I’ve read the room wrong. Sorry, (Name), you can forget what I said-”
“Lyney, I like you too.”
You interrupted, not wanting him to get the wrong idea. Now the tables have turned: Lyney was rendered speechless and you, on the other hand, had turned as red as a tomato. None of you knew how to proceed with the conversation and that was when someone yelled from their hiding spot.
“Oh for Archon’s sake, just kiss already!” Paimon screamed, frustrated with the silence.
The two of you flinched; startled by the sudden presence of Paimon’s voice. You looked over Lyney’s shoulder, able to catch a glimpse of her being pulled down into the bushes. The sight made you chuckle and it was also enough for you to pluck up your courage. Closing the distance between you and Lyney in five strides, you leaned in to kiss his cheek.
You felt him stiffen when your lips were pressed against his cheek. You straightened yourself, unable to hold back the laughter at the sight of Lyney malfunctioning.
“Who knew all it takes is a simple kiss to make the great magician go silent?” You teased, poking his side and he flinched like a cat.
“Well played, Mon Chéri. But I’m afraid when it comes to compliments, I have the upperhand,” he smirks, returning to his usual self.
Lyney grabbed your hand, bending at his waist as he lifted your hand so he could kiss your knuckles. He does this without breaking eye contact. You swore you could feel his lips curling up in a smile and somehow, you felt like the weather had become hotter than usual.
Chuckling at your reaction, he pulled you in with one arm wrapped around your waist while the other gently gripped your chin, forcing you to look at him. His abrupt action earned a startles squeak from you as you clumsily allowed yourself to be tugged towards him.
“Well then, I hope you’re ready to be worshiped, Mon Chéri.”
