thinking about if konoha ninja who became anbu frequently 'died' so they wouldn't be on any registry and so other villages would get word that notable shinobi have 'died'. they don't do it often, that would be suspicious, but they do it to kakashi. minato assigns him to anbu and apologizes blandly when he tells him his death is going to be faked. kakashi, broken traumatized and depressed, thinks nothing of it.
kakashi 'dies' on a mission months after the death of rin, after obito watched, after he lost pretty much everything and any sense of self he had. his body isn't recovered and the circumstances of his death are unclear.
if im being entirely cruel, this means that no one in the village (guy, asuma, iruka, etc.) would know that kakashi is still alive. they all think he's dead and they grieve him and kakashi... disappears. he doesn't know himself anymore and he can't, because he's dead and he's in the anbu now and that's all that matters. his life for konoha in life and death, always.
obito, being the stalker he is, looks for kakashi. he missed him entering the anbu, he missed the faked funeral, he missed a lot. he tries to find him in his shoebox apartment, stakes out minato's home, sits at the memorial stone and rin's grave. but kakashi never shows up and obito decides he'll check the active missions in konoha, just to know where kakashi is (definitely not to follow him and watch him, that'd be weird, duh). so after sneaking into the hokage's office with kamui, he rifles through the piles of s-rank and a-rank missions, but kakashi's name is nowhere to be found. confused and almost insulted on kakashi's behalf, he checks the b-ranks and below, but no dice.
now obito is getting...nervous might not be the word but he's definitely feel angry at this point. if kakashi isn't home, on a mission, grieiving, or with minato then where is he. obito stalks guy next, finds him sitting on a rock by a stream, glum. he's pale, his eyes are watery, he looks exhausted and obito is definitely nervous at this point. he'd never admit it but for something to get guy of all people down... obito fears for the worst.
through much stalking and espionage, obito finds out where kakashi is.
he's dead.
that can't be right.
he would've heard if kakashi was dead, right? zetsu would've told him. he would've known. kakashi has one of his eyes, he definitely would've known. and obito, pissed, scared, and indignant, opens up the connection between him and kakashi, searching for kakashi's vision, for what he can see. he hasn't done it since that night when rin...
he didn't want kakashi to know it existed, never even wanted to take that chance. but he doesn't care anymore. kakashi isn't dead. it's just not possible.
obito was right. kakashi isn't dead.
but he might as well be.
kakashi has no way out of the anbu now, no way that wouldn't give away konoha's secrets. guy can't help him because guy thinks he's dead, minato can't help him, he killed him in the first place. kakashi will forever live, breathe, and die for konoha. it makes obito's blood boil, he feels reminiscent of the night rin died.
he hates kakashi. he wants to hate kakashi. he can't hate kakashi. he can hate the world, he can despise konoha, he can want to kill minato. but kakashi...
he's never been able to hate him. no matter how hard he tried, how easy kakashi made it for him. when it came to kakashi, his balance between love and hate was never more skewed.
there's a particularly awful mission, kakashi is the only one to return to the village and he's...he's not good. obito watches him laugh hysterically as he washes his hands of blood that isn't there. he's never seen kakashi so broken and it hurts more than he ever thought it would.
obito gets kakashi out of the anbu. kakashi hates him for it, fights him, thrashes against him and his will and ideologies. kakashi doesn't know him, obito was too ahamed to reveal himself. it doesn't matter though, kakashi wants to die. he was happy in the anbu, he says. it'd be a quicker death, a noble death.
you've already died, obito shouts at him, enraged and torn apart. how can't he see it? how can he be so naive and blind to it all?
kakashi doesn't answer, doesn't know what words to say to make this stranger believe he isn't worth the trouble. obito has no choice.
with a shaking hand, he removes his mask. kakashi watches, eyes wide and wet and obito throws the mask to the side to hold out his hand. you've already died, but you can be reborn.
with me.
kakashi, broken tattered and thoroughly sure he's lost it, takes obito's hand. yes, kakashi thinks, he's died. but if this is the afterlife, than maybe things won't be so bad...

naruto blogging part 10 kinda
the 2 page spreads in naruto really make me appreciate haikyuu paneling all that much more because for a lot of naruto's 2 page spreads it really doesn't need to be 2 pages the layout works equally well with single pages whereas with haikyuu's double page spreads they really take advantage of the wide format in a way naruto doesn't. anyways haikyuu has some of the best paneling and page layouts i have seen in any manga (houseki no kuni is another good one).
I miss those times when Naruot used to go feral like in the Land of Waves or Valley of the End 1. Naruto needs a design where he gets fluffy fox ears and a tail.
Naruto and houseki no kuni have opposite approaches to callbacks. Both series will at time purposefully mirror or invoke earlier parts of the manga. The difference is that naruto will devote pages/episodes to the same flashbacks so that the audience can immediately remember the previous scene. By contrast hnk has no flashbacks ever and expects the audience to remember the whole manga and draw the comparisons themselves some of these are very subtle like half a panel of a dandelion seed or the shadow of wings.
i caved and read ch 700 and its meh ok which means that its boruto that made everything bad. like its been like 15 years a lot of things can change, im not necessarily against naruto marrying hinata having 2 kids and becoming hokage or sasuke and sakura having a daughter. what i am against is sakura being defined by her cringe middleschool crush and pining for sasuke when he obviously doesn't care about her, like just say they're divorced or never married but wanted a kid. please let sakura get on with her life. or naruto and hinata marrying is fine and naruto having a son and having to deal with the same antics he did as a kid is fine but naruto being a deadbeat absent father isn't. wow the boruto writers really messed up because the ideas from ch 700 aren't the worst. a better take on the ideas would be show how naruto has matured and now reflects on his past actions with new insight since now he has been on both sides as the troublemaking brat and the responsible adult and he understands that boruto is acting out because he wants attention and responds by being more affectionate and making time for him. also bolt and salad.... great names as usual.
can't believe naruto isn't wearing his head-protector in the epilogue, he loves that thing.
ah so the anime clarifies that sasuke is seeing naruto's memories including naruto's meeting with itachi in the war. cant believe im saying this but i think the anime might have done this one part better. makes sasuke acknowledging naruto more impactful since its now also sasuke giving up his vision of the lonely hokage for naruto and itachi's its-the-villages-acknowledgement-that-makes-a-hokage, so sasuke is also indirectly supporting naruto's dream of being hokage and abandoning his own.
"Oh sure, lock up sasuke and not the guy that murdered and tortured hundreds of kids, killed and experimented on thousands of peoples, kidnapping minors and adults, committing kagecide twice against the third hokage and the kazekage, attempted murder… destroying konoha and half its shinobi forces, almost instigating another world war…" Orochimaru would have so many treason charges against him lol for selling state secrets, there's also his joining the international terrorist ring, yeah the world war he was plotting, all the random side characters he or his schemes have killed, the rampant human experimentation, kidnapping, murder, the bodies at his feet are endless. I like to imagine that between all the people Orochimaru's screwed over and the snake summons that didn't really like him to begin with, someone killed him. He dies off-screen like he deserves. (Boruto? Boruto isn't real, what are you talking about?)
Imagine a better timeline where naruto goes backpacking across the world with sasuke and shows up 2 years later with a mullet and covered in fuuinjutsu tattoos
anime novel arcs!: sasuke shinden isn't off to a good start. like yamato doesn't even question who those two strangers are eventhough he says no one's allowed to see orochimaru

There's a part of the story he never told the other. After all, he never considered there be a reason to. No matter what happens, their relationship will forever keep this certain toxin in between them. Maybe it is because their worlds have been both bathed in blood too much as that they uphold gentle feelings towards it.
However, as it would happen all few years, his gene finally wins the fight and reject the eyes implanted to him. As for that, it's not the first he obtained after giving his own to his brother so long ago. A Kekkei Genkai is buried much deeper, it's not just living within the eyes. At least, not for him who has overstepped the boundaries of the usual.
His fingers wipe the blood from his eyes. His vision hasn't gotten blurry yet, that's something. It's merely his body's first sign that it is slowly reaching its final state again. 'Say, have you ever envied your brother being the one who inherited the rare abilities or has you seen it as a blessing not to be burdened with them?' he calls out, knowing exactly Tobirama can hear him just fine.
On days like that, when he stares blankly in the mirror, he feels through as the soul of each one he has murdered stands behind him, whispering in his ear that no piece of cloak or change of name will ever change who he truly is. It keeps hunting him deep within his bones.
A violent smile breaks over his lips when he simply turns around, leaving the bedroom. The blood underneath his eyes has something of the makeup of some war tribe he visited once.
'How odd, I do not fear the bells of hell welcoming me among them but I fear the darkness of this world only for the ghosts awaiting me in the darkness.'   //  @sarcasm-muses

@cmyk8 replied to a post:
also js having a “im a secret agent” tattoo is the worst idea ever and if active duty anbu DONT henge it it’s like stapling a sign that says “please kill me to inconvenience your enemies” on their foreheads
LITERALLY!!! LITERALLY!!! Especially if you're out of the village like...hi im just a normal guy ha ha nooooo don't look at my secret-black-ops-agent tattoo...nooo don't accurately perceive my ability and willingness to do brutal acts of violence...haha...don't categorize me as a threat...lol
like. god. why did they fucking tattoo their anbu. why did they tattoo them somewhere so visible as a bicep. like...they do realize this is going to make living any kind of regular shinobi life after anbu a lot more difficult right
anyway pspspspsps gift for u...

Second and third favorite female character: tenten and kurenai
Favorite and second favorite clan: aburame and uzumaki
Favorite kage: gaara
Favorite Hokage: tobirama
Least favorite Hokage: sarutobi hiruzen (kys old fart <3)
Favorite tailed beast: matatabi
Favorite canon couple(s): inosai and naruhina
Favorite almost canon couple(s): sasukarin and leeten
Worst canon couple: sasusaku
Least favorite fanon couple(s): narusaku, sns, sakuino, sasodei, kakuhidan
Favorite yaoi couple(s): kakairu or yamairu
Favorite yuri couple(s): i once saw kurenai x mei and haven’t slept soundly since
Couple(s) that you ship romantically and as friends: kakagai, naruino, sasusai (now hear me out on this one)
Favorite protagonist: tsunade
Favorite antagonist: haku and zabuza
Favorite Akatsuki member: kisame
Favorite Akatsuki couple: sasori and deidara (not romantically, i just like when they argue)
Which character do you think deserves more appreciation: shino, kankuro, fuu, and tenten out of the younger generation (i don’t watch or read boruto). anko, kurenai, and genma from the middle generation. maito dai from the older generation
Which character do you think deserves less appreciation: sakura (annoying and i don’t like her but im too tired to go into that rn), itachi (idc who told him to, mans still killed his entire clan and tortured his younger brother several times), and sasuke (you all appreciate him for the wrong reasons!!!! love him for being a revolutionary, not for rejecting his ideology in the end)
Which character(s) didn’t deserve to die: neji, haku, and zabuza (he should’ve lived to see his country be given stability under mei, he deserved it, argue with the wall)
Who do you ship Naruto with: hinata mostly but a small part of my brain screams ino
Which character do you think looks good with everybody: sasuke
Which character out of Teams 7(don’t forget Sai),8,10, Gai would join the Akatsuki: depends what akatsuki we’re talking about! original akatsuki whose goal was world peace through diplomacy? choji, lee, naruto, kakashi, gai, hinata. the akatsuki the characters actually interact with? neji, asuma, tenten.
Hottest female character: tenten or kurenai
Hottest male character: DON’T FLAME ME FOR THIS BUT KAKUZU LMAOOOO
Would you eat Ramen: yeah
Pro-ending or anti-ending: pro
How would your version of Naruto ending and Boruto play out (don’t be shy, make it VERY LONG, out touch the smallest details):
1. neji would live because hiashi sacrificed himself in place of his children. i dont really have anything further planned for him in my head but rest assured that he is alive.
2. konoha involves itself in inter-clan business and makes it a criminal offense for hyuuga main branch members to torture the side branch members. no new seals are placed.
3. boruto is not named boruto because what a weird fucking name, no thanks!
4. the truth about both the uchiha massacre and the destruction of uzushiogakure and konoha’s roles in them are revealed to the public.
5. the villagers and ordinary shinobi play a more active role in the running of the village and it moves away from bureaucracy and to tobirama’s original vision of a democracy. the hokage is actually elected, rather than proposed by officials to the daimyo and that’s that.
6. academy starts at age 8 or 10 and finishes at a soft 16 - if a student is particularly gifted, the lowest age they can graduate at is 14.
7. we actually get a scene between naruto and karin where they acknowledge and talk about their shared roots.
8. no sasusaku i’m sorry i just really hate it. sorry sarada. i think sasuke should be allowed to stay single.
9. more children!!! more babies!!!!!!! naruto and hinata have about 4, ino and sai have 2, karui and choji have 3. stop the population from dwindling
10. i actually like the fact that hinata and choji are like retired from the shinobi industry, i dont think they actually ever really wanted to be parts of it. but hinata plays an active role in the improvement of hyuuga intra-clan rapports, even if she’s not clan head.
11. i’d have killed off iruka and kiba but that’s just me. not because i hate them (i love iruka to the moon and back) but i think their deaths would’ve been realistic and meaningful (and also hurt a lot - can you imagine naruto’s reaction to iruka’s death, or kiba dying and leaving akamaru? pain)
12. naruto doesn’t become hokage. he’s a jounin-sensei :D
13. the older generation pairs off as well!! my heart goes soft for gai and anko, i think maybe they have a kid together
14. none of the electronic advancement you see in boruto. i want my bitches to continue suffering
15. orochimaru is either in prison or executed. in either case anko, yamato, and the other people they hurt get justice.
16. choza dies alongside shikaku and inoichi (again, not because i don’t like him), even if he isn’t at hq
17. no fucking rabbit goddess jesus fuck that storyline just about took me out lmao

Skinny Love II (Kakashi x Reader)
A/N: second part to skinny love. This is all angst. Very sad. I just watched the pain arc again and had to write something about Kakashi and what happens. Im guessing this could be tagged for spoilers but Naruto is old soooo.
Word count: 5000
“I’m just saying, maybe the second novel is better than the first. You’re free to have your own opinion, that’s just what I think.”
“Well, you’re wrong.”
“Whatever you say,” Y/N laughed, rolling her eyes at the masked man sitting in front of her. She was sipping on a hot bowl of broth after coming home from her most recent mission. It was a nice day out, and she thought it would be a good idea to go out and get something to eat with her favorite shinobi. He was dangerously possessive over his romance novels, and felt immense embarrassment when Y/N decided to pick them up as well.
For a week after finishing the series, she mocked him for liking the gushy, mushy romance that lied on the pages, not to mention the more inappropriate chapters that left nothing to the imagination. Master Jiraiya wasn’t kidding when he said he was doing “research” at the bath house.
“We should go out more often,” he commented, “It’s nice to relax with all this Akatsuki business going on.”
“Definitely. We used to go out like this all the time before you started training those kids,” she hummed. It was true. They had normal outings at that point in time, as the only thing they did was go on missions and then chill at home until the next outing. After Naruto and Sasuke revealed their unique personalities, and got themselves into some sticky situations, the times changed and they spent much more time apart than before. “Not to mention going out with you gives me an excuse to eat whatever I want.”
He nodded in reply, his eyes trailing down to his novel once again which he was skimming over. She didn’t mind him reading at the table. What was he supposed to do? Eat? There was no way he would take off the mask. He was content just giving her company.
His reading gave Y/N an excuse to admire him. Her eyes would lift from the table every time he looked down at the pages, and she would take in all his features. She swore, he was one of the most handsome men she’d ever met, even with the mask. Without a mask, he probably resembled a god. It was nice to just watch as he relaxed into his novel, enjoying himself without any cares in the world.
She liked to talk to him even more. He always knew the right thing to say to make her feel important and wanted, even on her worst of days, he was there to make it better. He was brave and strong, but kind and gentle when need be. His soft words in the late nights they hung out, or his concern when she injured herself, or the happiness the times she made him laugh. Each moment meant so much more to her than he realized.
It was evident to everyone that she had an attachment to him. What kind exactly was the complicated part. While they had been friends for quite a long time, she felt like he was more than just a normal friend or even a best friend. He felt more like a partner than anything, whether it be partner-in-crime or partner-in-love. She loved him with every bone in her body, more than she loved her comrades or her friends, she cared for him like she would a lover.
Maybe it was because she was so shy that she couldn’t tell him how she felt after all this time. Maybe it was fear of rejection. Maybe it was fear of death. She wasn’t sure what held her back from confessing her love to him, spilling all those words she kept under lock and key. She wanted there to be something more, but he’d never let on that he cared for her that way, and surely he would have said something if he did feel that way. It just seemed impossible.
But not to the ordinary person.
People had mentioned in passing to Kakashi that he acted like a lovesick teenager when he was around the woman. She was just so perfect, how could he do anything but adore her. To him, she was one of the only people that truly mattered as more than a fellow shinobi or comrade.
There was no reason to rush it though. If she truly wanted a relationship with him, she would tell him eventually. He wasn’t one to go around throwing out love confessions first. He would wait until she was comfortable and ready. Until then, he would admire her from a distance, through friendly touches and smiles, and dreamy looks when the other wasn’t watching. To him, that was enough.
This lunch outing was the perfect time to waste some hours with her just talking and reading in the others company. The day almost felt too good to be true.
And it was.
First there was the explosion, followed by the screams. Oh, those screams would haunt Y/N’s dreams. Villagers who she’d known growing up screaming in pain. Quickly, she jumped to her feet as did the copy nin.  Their eyes frantically looked through the doorway of the restaurant, but there wasn’t anything on their particular street, just dust from the explosion floating down in thick clouds.
“Someone’s attacked the village. Shit,” he cursed under her breath.
They would have to go out there and fight, they both knew that very well. Fight who, they didn’t know, but Y/N could sense that the same foreign chakra signature was coming at her from multiple directions in the village. That couldn’t be good. It was probably that Akatsuki member that everyone was talking about. Pain. Pain with the rinnegan. How could the leaf compete against something as strong as that dojutsu?
“Everybody out! You know the evacuation route,” Y/N called out to the civilians in the restaurant, as she swallowed her panic. She made a move to usher the people from the store so they could run in the direction of refuge.
This wasn’t a normal battle. These intruders were a completely different breed than the ones they were used to fighting. She could feel the impending doom start to blanket around her body, and she took a deep breath. How could this happen? Was Pain here to take Naruto? Naruto wasn’t even in the village, how could that be? Was it the Akatsuki making a big statement attacking one of the five great villages?
There was just something off. She could feel it. Today was going to be one of the worst days, worse than anything else they’d experienced.
“Y/N, let’s go.”
“Kakashi…” she trailed off, not taking a step forward just yet. Was there something she needed to get off her chest before they rushed into a battle with an outcome unknown? As she met his frantic, panicked eyes with her own, she wondered if she should just confess her feelings right then and there, just so he could know before they put their lives on the line.
Never in her life did she think that her or Kakashi might die. It was never a thought that crossed her mind. She assumed she had all the time in the world to gather the courage to tell him. Now it felt like she had run out of time, and they might never get the chance to see each other again. The chakra signatures around them were just too strong to guarantee they would live against their blows. It felt like this was her final chance.
She started again, “Kakashi, I need to tell you something.”
“What is it?” he asked, wanting to hurry this along. She could see plainly that this wasn’t the right time. He wasn’t in the right mind to hear her words, or comprehend the meaning behind them. Instead, she lowered her head and sighed.
And so she kept that secret tightly bound deep in her heart.
“Nevermind, it’s not important. Just be safe out there. Make it back to me in one piece, okay?”
“You know I can’t promise that,” he replied, and her heart sank in her chest. He was right. If he died, he died. If she died, she died. Nothing could stop fate from doing its dirty work.
“Just promise me. Give me some confidence before we jump into this mess. I-I can’t do this without you promising me you’ll live!” She cried, passion and fear dripping off her words. She had her eyes shut tightly at this point, just trying to keep herself from letting the potential tears gather in her eyes. Her fists clenched by her side as well. “Just say something!”
He nodded, thinking of the right words to say. “I promise I’ll make it back to you, Y/N. Now promise you’ll live. For me,” he demanded, lifting her head to face him. His fingers were strong against her cheek, firm when faced with danger. He wanted her to live, but knowing that Pain killed Jiraiya was enough to make him worry and plan for the worst.
Why was he even asking? He knew that words meant nothing. That most promises were just bound to be empty.
Just this one time, he prayed that she’d keep it.
“I promise.”
“Now let’s go. I’ll take this side, and you go that way. Sounds like explosions came from both directions.”
“Got it.”
There was no room for goodbyes.
After that, they went their separate ways. Y/N had to keep herself from losing control. Everything was going to be okay. She was worrying far too much. Kakashi was strong. Stronger than anyone else she knew really. He couldn’t be taken down by some terrorists. It wasn’t an option.
As long as she could sense his chakra lingering in the distance, she would know.
__________
It was painful, the wound that tore through her thigh. Blood dripped thickly from the cut, but she continued to fight. In this situation, there was nothing else to do, nothing more to fight for than the safety of the village and the people within it. Y/N has never seen a villain this bad, someone so dead set on killing and tormenting that it brought the shinobi of the village to their knees. Yet, here he was, this orange haired creature who popped up at multiple points of their city, each with a different signature move yet a similar chakra pattern.
Y/N knew she couldn’t break down just yet, not after seeing comrade after comrade fall to the ground and lose their lives to the cause. She had to keep going for them. For her friends and her family who died. She was never the most talented at fighting, she was more of a sensory type, stay on the inside and study type of kunoichi. But not today. No one had that luxury today.
Constantly, she could feel the loss of the ninja alongside her, their chakra signatures melting into nothing as blasts continued to ravage their village. The fire within their bodies burned for the last time, disappearing into the ashes.
It wasn’t until she was on her knees, face buried in the dirt and rubble did she really feel the pain this man was so desperate to bestow upon the villagers. Kakashi’s chakra had burned out. It was as if her body gave up after that. She couldn’t move, her bones were broken and she couldn’t afford to stand and fall back down once again, believe it that she tried over and over again. Nothing mattered at this point. How could it? She couldn’t feel her best friend’s chakra signature any longer. He was dead.
Her crying into the dirt was the only thing that signalled another shinobi to come and help her to the infirmary. Someone she barely knew had picked her up by the arm and hoisted it over his shoulder, dragging her by his side to the hospital where the medical nin were no doubt working harder than ever. Her whole body felt like it was caked in bloody crimson mud, dust up her nose and muk between her teeth.
Everything just made her cry harder and harder until she felt she was gasping to breathe.
The harsh lights in the building did nothing but sting her eyes, and the dozens of medical nin rushing around those lying on the floor overwhelmed her.
Sakura stood at the front of all the mess, and her eyes immediately caught onto Y/N and her rescuer. “Y/N-sensei, what happened to you?” she cried, rushing over with her frantic hands hovering over the state of the broken woman as she scanned for the wounds. This only caused more sobbing.
“One second she was fine, the next she was lying in the dirt screaming. I don’t know,” the man said, handing her off to the pink haired girl. “She’s got broken legs, I know that.”
“Thank you for bringing her,” she mumbled as she brought her sensei over to an empty cot, sitting her down on the cloth and beginning the healing process on the worst part of her leg where the bone was exposed. She was shaking so badly it was almost hard to concentrate on her work. She’d never seen Y/N so hopeless and lost. She was strong, she never faltered in the face of danger. It worried Sakura, no doubt.
“Sensei, what happened?”
“It’s Kakashi,” the woman croaked between her harsh breaths. “I-I can’t feel his chakra anymore.” Tears ran down her cheeks furiously, dripping from her chin into her lap. She felt the hopelessness overtake her entire person, the only thing left being complete and utter fear. Her chest heaved, desperate for the next gulp of air into her lungs.
Sakura nearly faltered at the words. Kakashi sensei, dead? How could that be? He was one of the strongest shinobi they knew. He would never fall victim to a villain, would he? From the sounds of Y/N’s heartbroken cries, the medical nin knew that it was over. That another life had been stolen from them.
Kakashi was Y/N’s heart and soul. She loved him for years and planned to love him for many more. Everyone knew that. Kakashi and her may have never acknowledged their feelings before his death, but the skinny love lingered in the air every time they were around each other.
The longing looks when they passed each other in the street. The pain they felt when the other was hurt. The smiles they shared when something good happened in their no-good shinobi lives. They were more than willing to lay their lives on the line for the other, more than just a comrade, more than a friend.
Her passion for Kakashi was the only good thing she had to come home to after missions. His face was the one thing she wanted to see after a bad day. His stupid face as he read his perverted novels, that grin that she positively adored.
All of that was gone, and her heart couldn’t take it. The pain from her injuries sat in the back of her mind, the only thing she could focus on was the loss. Knowing she would never see him again, never hear his voice. If only she could hear him laugh one more time. It was impossible, but she wished to the heavens above for mercy.
Sadly, no one was there to listen.
“Y/N, I’m sorry,” Sakura whispered, not knowing what else to say. What could she say?
“I need him. I can’t do this without him,” she sobbed, her hands shaking by her side, having to clench her fists just to stop the tremors. “Sakura, it’s been 15 years. I...I don’t know a life without him.”
Her heart broke at the words. It was true. She didn’t know life anymore without Kakashi. They’d been friends and comrades for so long that it seemed like that was all she knew. How can you come back from that? Sakura didn’t know. She might be able to heal the woman’s legs, but there was no way she could begin to heal such a broken heart.
“It’s okay. You have plenty of others. You have Gai and Kurenai and-”
“Fuck everyone else. You know they can’t replace him,” she snapped. “No one can replace him.”
Sakura could only nod solemnly. They could lie all day and pretend that Gai would somehow swoop in and make up for that gaping hole in her heart. They could lie and say that Kurenai and her child would fill Y/N with a happiness she felt with Kakashi. Yes, they could certainly lie about it all.
At the end of the day though, her pain would be unrivalled. Losing the one man you’ve loved from the moon and back. It would take an entire army and then some to combat such a struggle.
When Sakura was done healing the woman, she handed her a roll of bandages from her pocket. “I’ve got to tend to others. Wrap this around your calf and then stay here to rest. Please, just rest yourself, sensei. You’ll heal faster that way.” Y/N took the bandages and nodded her head weakly, shaky hands going to wrap her bare and burned calf with the medical bandages.
Her mind still centered around Kakashi. She found herself curling up into a ball on the little bench she was sat at, hugging her knees close to her chest. She just cried. Right now, she couldn’t do anything else.
Just cry.
________
The village was in complete and utter ruin. Y/N lay painfully utop a mountain of rubble, blood oozing from the back of her head and from her already injured leg. Pain’s final attack, one that completely demolished the village...it spared her life.
How could things get any fucking worse?
She felt like the Gods were being especially cruel to her on this day. Especially cruel to every single person in the village, but they kept Y/N alive for their own personal amusement, laughing at her loss and her pain and her  frustration.
Despite Lady Tsunade sending out Katsuyu to protect the villagers, Y/N only seemed to be in worse shape than before. She could feel the slug on her shoulder slowly healing her, but it wasn’t much compared to the pain and the numerous injuries.
Y/N rolled onto her side and groaned, pain shooting up her spine and giving her a brain-shattering headache. When she went to cough on something thick and slimy in her throat, what splattered on the ground was red. Maybe she was just meant to die slow and painfully.
It was better this way, she decided. Nothing could make this day worth it. Nothing. The pain was unbearable.
“Y/N? Is that you?” a feminine voice called from a little while away, and the woman cursed, spitting up more blood as she did so. Sakura climbed through some of the rubble to approach her. Her hands hovered over the woman’s broken body, scanning over all her wounds.
Naruto was down there fighting Pain. Everything was going to be okay as long as they had faith in the Uzumaki. Sakura could focus a bit of her energy on healing her sensei. There was nothing else to do except watch the fight below them, in the center of the wasteland that used to be the Hidden Leaf.
She began the healing process, medical chakra flowing into the woman’s chest wounds, the most critical of all. “Sakura…”
“What is it, Y/N?”
“What’s happening? Is everyone dead?”
“No, everyone is alive. Lady Tsunade sent out Katsuyu to protect everyone. It seems that you were injured before your healing slug could get to you. Thankfully, you have both of us to fix you up,” she muttered. Y/N would have been blind to not notice the way Sakura stared past her deeper into the wreckage as she spoke.
“What do you see?” she asked quietly, as loud as her body could muster.
“It’s Naruto. He’s out there fighting Pain alone,” she said, “He-he’s gotten so much stronger.”
The older woman smiled through her pain, shutting her eyes and letting a soft sigh leave her lips. She hadn’t anticipated Naruto to come saving the day, in fact, it seemed more likely that Pain would kill everyone and leave the village in ruin. Fortunately, Kakashi’s student, the one that people had underestimated for so long, was out there doing what the rest of them couldn’t.
A hero. No matter if he won or not, these are the actions of a hero.
“It’s his destiny: to save this village,” she whispered. “Jiraiya once said so.”
“Let’s hope he was right.”
Together they lay there in the middle of ruin while Naruto battled Pain. They watched as the two men launched themselves away from the village into the woods, the nine tailed fox coming to life far away from where they huddled together. The village was safe from direct harm at this point and the two women let down their guard just a little bit. Down in the middle of the pit some of the students started to gather, including a heavily injured Hinata.
“Help me down there, Sakura. I need to see Gai,” she said, louder than before. After all that time healing, she found herself strong enough to prop up on her elbows and gaze into the destruction.
Once down there, Sakura was quick to start healing Hinata, fearing that the girl had taken too much damage to handle. After all, she charged against Pain, the supposedly leader of this terrorist attack. All of that to help out young Naruto. Y/N felt like she was staring at an image of herself for a moment. A young woman ready to sacrifice it all for the sake of the man she loved.
As her eyes moved around the area, she caught onto the bright green outfit of her long time friend. His eyes caught hers for a moment and quickly, he rushed over to her side. She collapsed onto her knees, wincing at the pain that ran through her body as she did so. She found herself still a bit too weak to stand.
“Y/N, you’re alive,” he gasped. He knelt on the ground beside her and placed a firm hand on her shoulder, steadying her shaky form. “Your injuries-”
“Forget about that, Gai,” she mumbled. “Something terrible has happened.” He couldn’t imagine what she had to say could be any worse than the destruction of the entire village. But he nodded and sat there listening as she spoke her words carefully, painfully with each syllable that left her lips. “Kakashi is dead.”
He felt his heart drop in his chest. As he looked at the woman before him, he knew that she wanted nothing more to cry, yet there were no tears. He assumed that she had already cried her fill earlier and could only mourn at this point. He didn’t ask before wrapping her smaller form up in his arms and tugging her to his chest, burying his nose in her hair. She wrapped her arms around his waist and pressed her face into his shoulder, dry sobs causing her entire form to quiver.
In a moment like this one, he just remained still for her. Sit there and be there through this pain. He felt crushed at the thought of his best friend dead, his eternal rival somewhere out there in all that rubble fatally injured. Gai had lost a brother that day, and Y/N had lost her one and only lover.
He listened as she hopelessly bawled in the comfort of his arms, feeling every bit of her pain sink into his form. They had gone through battles together before, they grew up teammates and friends, how could they not. They had seen death and pain all their lives. This was on another level, incomprehensible to either of them.
Pure misery. Every emotion seemed to burn in her chest. She wanted to curl up and die herself.
________
It felt like hours went by before the lives were returned. She hadn’t thought much of it when the elderly Toad woke up from his eternal slumber. For a moment, she thought it was just a fluke. That he had never really died in the first place, they just thought he did. But then, she watched as people above the trench started to stand from their resting places on the ground and in the rubble.
That is when she realized that somehow, someway, the lives lost during this terrible battle had been reclaimed. It was only a matter of time before she found out if Kakashi had come back to life as well. She sat there, focusing all her energy into sensing nearby chakra, sorting through hundreds of people for the one she wanted.
Gai had left to help out some of the others, so she just sat there waiting. Waiting for Kakashi to come back to her. Just like he promised.
After all this chaos, she couldn’t imagine keeping her love a secret from him any longer. He needed to know. She wouldn’t let this opportunity go wasted. Y/N was given a second chance at finding love in her friend, and she would be damned if she let that go to waste.
After a while, she began to feel his chakra. At first it was very faint, like he was a mile away hidden underneath rocks and everything else you could imagine. But then it got stronger.
He was alive.
When she saw his form climb down into the pit with the rest of them, his mask torn and only the bottom layer of his clothes still intact, she nearly cried once again. For hours before this, she was prepared to never see him alive again, never see that masked face look down upon hers once more. She had mourned the loss of Kakashi Hatake, only for him to be returned.
It was as if the God’s had listened to her prayers.
“Kakashi!” she exclaimed as she struggled to get herself up from the ground. She knelt on one knee, pushing herself up with the other, desperate to walk over to him. Her body failed her of course, and she fell back onto her butt. He noticed her though, her tiny figure in the crowd of hundreds. She was the one person he wanted to find all along.
He fell onto his knees beside her, his hands coming up to grasp her cheeks with his dusty, calloused hands. She relaxed into his rough fingers, sinking into the warmth that he was sharing. His thumbs slid along her lips and chin, trying to rub away the dirt that was caked in some places. She was a mess, messier than he was. He could only imagine the suffering that she went through as well, to have survived all of that without death as a retreat in the middle.
“Y/N, what happened to you?”
“Pain’s final blow caused some pretty bad wounds, but it’s fine. Sakura healed me enough that I’ll make it through,” she told him. Softly, she lifted her hands to place them over top his, her fingers slowly wrapping around his. “Kakashi, you broke your promise to me.”
“I know.”
She found that the words came out faster than she anticipated. Emotions and feelings being laid out in the open for him to see/ “I-I completely lost myself when I couldn’t feel your chakra anymore. I thought I’d lost you. I couldn’t stop crying, and I was angry at you for breaking your promise to me,” she rambled, “I didn’t know what I was gonna do without you.”
“It’s alright. I’m here now. Whatever Naruto has done saved my life,” he soothed, letting their hands fall into her lap. She wouldn’t let go of his hands even if he wanted them to himself. She was afraid. Afraid that if she let him go once more that he would be gone forever. “And I’m sorry I lied to you. I really shouldn’t have died like that. So irresponsible of me.”
There he was cracking a fucking joke about his own death. She wanted to smack him for being so dimwitted in a moment of vulnerability. Just the thought of being with him again made tears spring up in her eyes, and she shut her eyes to keep them from falling. Happy tears or not, she wasn’t going to cry again.
“I need to tell you what I was too afraid to say before. What I wanted to say before we went our separate ways,” she confessed, her breaths coming out harsh and rushed. Once again, she gripped his hands tighter in hers.
After taking a couple breaths, she lifted her eyes to meet his, mouth just agape. He really was all she could ever need. This moment wasn’t perfect, and it wasn’t ideal, but it was just right for what she needed to say. “I’ve always loved you, Kakashi.”
“Y/N-”
“Listen, I know it’s not exactly an appropriate time to be confessing my love to you and all, but I couldn’t risk another day going by without telling you.”
“I love you, too.”
And silence.
There wasn’t anything else to say. The love was mutual, it had been all this time. They just took their time getting around to admitting it, to just hear those words leave the other’s lips for the first time. There were no butterflies in her stomach nor did her heart race in her chest at his confession.
She could only feel comfort in the umbrella they’d created for themselves, the outside world lost to the both of them.
In a flash, she lurched forward to wrap her arms tightly around his neck, burying her face deep into his neck. “Don’t die ever again, Hatake, or I’ll kick your ass,” she laughed, the sound of her laugh reaching his ear. He held her to his chest and sighed.
“No promises.”
Despite what happened that day, he felt comfortable. For the first time, in a very long time, he felt relief wash over him. Everything was going to be okay.
“Kakashi!”

Tumblr media
suna’s  line  of  succession  /  heir  politics  (  as  told  by  me  and  what  i  dug  up )
Tumblr media
okay  so  last  night,  i  did  some  more  digging  after  tala’s  ask  made  me  realize  i  wasn’t  sure  about  some  stuff  involving  the  ka/ge  of  the  sand.  so  i’m  going  to  start  with  shi/nki.  so  when  bor/uto  rolls  around,  we’re  introduced  to  this  kid  who,  quite  frankly,  looks  as  if  he  might  be  a  splitting  image  of  kanku/ro.  i  don’t  think  anyone’s  wrong  for  wondering  about  that  because  who  says  shinobi  didn’t  have  time  to  fuck  around  in  between  missions?  they’re  getting  laid  somewhere  and  kanku/ro’s  a  man.  ain’t  no  way  he  hasn’t  fooled  around  at  some  point.  now  i  didn’t  watch  all  of  bor/uto,  and  still  refusing  to  watch  it  cos  eh.  not  feeling  the  way  they’re  going  about  some  things,  but  s/hinki  IS  worth  investigating.
so  i  combed  some  forums,  red/dits,  and  a  slew  of  other  places  to  find  out  what  people  thought  about  shin/ki.  cos  i  won’t  lie.  when  i  first  saw  him,  i  swore  up  and  down  that  maybe  ga/ara  was  covering  for  kanku/ro  in  the  worst  kept  secret  ever.  but  kank/uro’s  child  likely  wouldn’t  have  any  sand  jutsu,  unless  he  messed  around  with  someone  from  a  clan  with  that  bloodline  trait.  possible,  and  i  certainly  won’t  knock  it  if  that’s  what  some  people  think.  but  i’m  going  with  the  fact  that  shi/nki’s  bloodline  was  forgotten  about  after  the  third  kazek/age’s  disappearance.
i  mean,  while  it  doesn’t  explicitly  state  in  the  wiki  that  the  third  had  any  kids,  i  think  its  possible.  there’s  always  a  chance  he  had  a  kid  with  some  woman  he  slept  with  and  once  he  disappeared,  it’s  politics.  there’s  no  way  some  woman  can  barge  up  to  sun/a’s  official’s  claiming  she  has  the  third’s  son  or  daughter.  the  man  had  just  went  missing  which  meant  the  village  was  desperate  to  keep  that  secret  among  other  things  since  so  much  was  going  on  during  the  third’s  reign.  so  it  IS  possible  that  the  bloodline  lay  forgotten  in  the  heap  of  mess  sun/a’s  elders  created  during  that  time.  the  third  was....  30ish  when  he  vanished.  im  sure  he  got  some  before  sa/sori  disposed  of  him.
now  i  don’t  know  how,  after  all  this  time,  no  one  would  have  suspected  or  even  bothered  to  investigate  it.  ga/ara’s  father  was  a  smart  man.  i  have  a  feeling  he  might  have  looked  into  it.  but  he  also  had  his  hands  full  keeping  shuk/aku  from  going  on  rampages  so  i  mean,  i  can’t  say  definitively  that  they  wouldn’t  have  known.  gaa/ra  alone  was  a  handful  so  maybe  they  DIDN’T  know  some  other  children  were  out  there  that  shared  the  special  abilities  of  the  late  third.  but  all  that  aside,  it  leads  to  ga/ara’s  current  predicament.  kag/e  are  NOT  simply  elected  in  su/na.  you  inherit  the  title  though  in  ga/ara’s  case,  they  made  him  work  for  it  due  to  prejudices  concerning  shuk/aku.  but  one  of  the  sand  siblings  was  rightfully  the  heir  so  it  was  always  going  to  be  ga/ara  (  default  strongest  of  siblings  due  to  the  tailed  beast  ).
now  gaa/ra’s  not  married  nor  does  he  have  any  kids  which  means  he’s  got  to  produce  an  heir.  from  what  we’re  all  gathering  with  the  little  information  known,  ga/ara  adopted  shin/ki  so  that,  not  only  he  could  help  him  learn  to  control  his  powers,  but  also  because  shi/nki  is  a  potential  heir.  it  would  keep  him  from  being  forced  into  a  union  he  may  not  want  and  because  of  shi/nki’s  ke/kkei  gen/kai,  it  ensures  a  strong  leader  would  be  left  behind  post  his  death.  so  that’s  what  i’m  rolling  with  here.  obviously  im  always  willing  to  do  scenarios  in  which  ga/ara  really  does  marry  someone  worthy,  but  by  default,  he  ain’t  gonna  want  to  be  forced  into  doing  anything.

a little tidbit about infinite universes - izusaku
(or the companion piece of this tobisaku chapter) (coz Im having a hard time writing it like... normally)
Once shit goes down - when the coup/uprising starts - and the First Uchiha Family (Sakura, her sons, and Izuna) are leaving the village to get to their Head - tied with chakra chains at the bowels of what would be the Valley of the End - as their clansmen pave the way, cutting down shinobi left and right (because, this is dangerous, the Uchiha joining the fledgling village of Suna? Or even Kumo? This can’t happen). Izuna faces against the famed shadow clan.
The Nara are smart, but at this point, they hadn’t perfected the Ino-Shika-Cho teamwork yet,  (It doesn’t exist yet, but soon, after this, it will. It had to, after the loss each clan took, the Yamanaka bearing the greatest ones), and Izuna has the greatest eyes the Uchiha has ever known.  At the edge of the forest, the Nara lie in weight, the shadows of the foliage their friend. Sakura carries her eldest son, only 3 years of age - only as old as the burning village behind her - her skirts ripped above her knees when Izuna skids to a halt and pushes their younger child into her arms.
She barely stumbles and adjust the weight of her children in her arms, dodging left and then right, as hundreds of sharp shadow tendrils burst out of the forest. But she’s not fast enough and her youngest child’s sharp cry reaches Izuna’s ears.
When Izuna first met Sakura,-- his wife, his brother’s wife, the mother of their children, the mother of their clan -- his first and last love -- he thought that he’ll never love anyone more than her.  And then, she bore them sons, carried their weight in her belly and birthed them under the brightest moon and gave him two more people to love.  So it’s no question that his eyes bled red, and then redder, and redder, as red as the blood that the Nara spilled from his son’s arm. The tomoe changing and warping just as his chakra seeping from his skin making him glow like the lanterns of their home, ready to burn down theirs.  The battle that happens wipes out more than half the Nara forces, bearing the anger of the second Uchiha son, forcing them out of the forest and into the light. Forcing them under layers and layers of genjutsu of their best and worst fantasies and nightmares, making them doubt and slaughter each other.  When his strength wanes, Izuna forces Sakura to go, to carry their children to their other father. And the last thing she sees of him is the shadows of the Nara forces, swallowing him from her sight. His last glance, cut short by a resounding war cry.

Fluff or angst, but this one lends itself to angst.
18. “Do you regret it?”
Patrisia lifted her pen from the paper, and watched the ink dry. It was such a strange feeling, completion. There would be editing, sure. Memorization. But no more listening, no more new stories. This was an ending.
Well, almost. There was still one more question in the back of her mind, one that found its way out after some consideration.
“Do you regret it?”
An addendum, perhaps. Or something closer to a moral, like the old fables. Though what that moral might be depended on his reply.
Some focus came back into Mr. Howards’ eyes, and she was no longer uncomfortable meeting them. “Which part? The beginning? The end?”
“Any of it.” She shrugged. “Mostly the parts involving Eva, but - any of it.”
He smiled, but even through that he seemed too tired for somebody with a young face. She would be surprised to hear he had no remorse at all.
“I regret some of what came before. The decisions that brought me to that point. And make no mistake, those were my decisions. But the decisions that I made for Eva, with Eva, about Eva? Those were the first good choices I had made in a very long time. And they were also my own choices.”
Patrisia nodded as she set the pen back to the paper. Her hand no longer ached or shook when she wrote for too long. Even if it did, she felt this part might tie the entire story together. Give it meaning beyond mere pain and recovery. There were a little more quiet, before Todd continued of his own accord.
“To change is the best and worst experience of your life. You may be too young to know this, Keeper Suanders - but changing, especially changing for the better, always hurts.”
She smiled, and flexed her right hand. She felt the glove stretch over her skin, and the ache that stretched under it.
“I know more than you’d think, Mr. Howards.”
There was a glint of teeth behind his laugh. He nodded.
“My mistake, Keeper. But that raises the question: Do you regret it?”
She looked down at her hand, at the stitches she’d carefully made to mark the wound. She could have hidden it, of course, but that wouldn’t do justice to the experience, and what she’d learned from it.
“No,” she said, slowly, “no, I don’t regret it. I don’t think I’ll ever fully heal, but it was a lesson I won’t unlearn.”

for my birthday my sister got me sekiro, which i specifically asked her for having run myself ragged after completely crushing both bloodborne and dark souls 3 multiple times and i’ve been really struggling with how i feel about it.
its been a long time since i’ve felt actually for real mad at a fromsoft game and sekiro has really been the one that has set my teeth on edge the most. unlike other from games where there is some hope in overcoming difficult battles by leveling up and speccing into stats you feel play most to your strengths, you have to play the game entirely on its terms and when that game is a fromsoft game, that is a BIG ask.
genichiro nearly caused my heart to explode from sheer rage because the battle is structured so sadistically that if you eat shit in the final round, in which they introduce a new mechanic and expect you to perfect it on the fly or die instantly, you have to do the first 2 over again. great shinobi owl is a tedious, horrendous fight that lasts forever and is not fun to actually play. there are fromsoft fights that feel legitimately rewarding or incredible when you defeat them (slave knight gael and pthumerian queen are unbelievably good fights) and i have yet to feel that same high or sense of achievement from sekiro (the divine dragon is PRETTY close, that’s a pretty cool fight lol).
currently i am trapped at isshin, sword saint on one file and on another, which i started out of frustration in the hopes i would improve if i started from the beginning, i am trapped at father owl at the hirata estate. isshin being freakishly difficult is understandable and he feels ALMOST achievable. i make it to his glock round and get pretty far in it before i drop dead from the understandable problem of being shot to death by what appears to be a semi-automatic weapon in the sengoku period. owl is maybe one of the worst fights i’ve ever experienced in a from game ever, and i did the defiled dungeons in bloodborne so i have every right to bitch. the number of fights in this game which are set up so that you simply cannot be allowed to be hit is unreal.
anyway, outside of that, the minibosses are really a mixed bag. it think the headless are simply dreadful. like just godawful. they are horrible to fight and are just copy-pasted in a shocking show of laziness from the devs which is more galling after you learn that there is apparently supposed to be individual lore for each one. the shichimen warriors are kind of cool lol and do what the headless do but in a way less boring, exhausting and soul-sucking way. the best part about the headless is their perilous attack which is literally so brain-breakingly horrifying the first time i saw it i didn’t even process what happened fully. when you fully comprehend it, you, the player, will die of terror.
my favorite fights: armored warrior (extremely hilarious), the ashina elite, mist noble because its also extremely funny, o’rin, the long arms, the bulls (i keep fighting these like bloodborne monsters, i had no idea you could parry them. i kept dodging their attacks and kiting them lol), GYOBU ONIWA, divine dragon
i cheesed the demon of hatred and i dont feel bad, when you do its hysterically funny. he falls off a cliff and then thanks you for it.
im still struggling with the addition of a third dimension to this game lol im like huh?? i can jump?? anyway im going to go try to beat up my dad again, wish me luck.

misukazu 21
(if you saw me fuck up the other one no you didnt)
EDIT I THINK THIS ONE GOT A LITTLE FUCKED UP TOO BUT IT’S... READABLE...
questions from this post, and answers originally written for this thread!!
If you had to change the pairing’s very first meeting, how would you change it?    their canon first meeting is already so good SHDGFLJASHG but if i had to choose a different one that's still within the context of mankai... meeting as kids and losing touch and coming back together completely different at mankai
What song fits your pairing the most?    uhhHHhhHHH i don't have a real answer but i do have a partial playlist for one of my misukazu aus and the only two songs in it are furaregai girl by sayuri and champagne's for celebrating by mayday parade and i feel like that says enough sldhgalsdhfalsh
What is your favorite AU/prompt idea/trope for your pairing?     ALL MISUKAZU AUS ARE GOOD but. i really love any au where their first meeting is in the future and both are still kind of lost but they're Older and it's hard to let themselves fall into the easy trust they find in canon. i just think that'd be neat.
Do you prefer canon ideas or do you have your own headcanons for them?     I'VE SAID THIS MANY TIMES BUT CANON MISUKAZU GIVES OFF MADE FOR EACH OTHER VIBES AND USUALLY I DON'T VIBE WITH THAT BUT THEY REALLY ARE WHAT THE OTHER NEEDS... AND I THINK EVEN IF THEY HAD TO PART THEY'D STILL BE ABLE TO BE BETTER PEOPLE BC THEY HAD MET
Favorite canon moment of them?     THERE ARE SO MANY but the one that immediately comes to mind is misumi carrying drunk kazu to bed (latest bday line) because drunk kazu is so soft and it implies that misumi wanted to wish happy birthday to kazu pretty late... what did he want to give him...
Least favorite canon moment of them?     hmm... there's not really one i can think of??? IM SORRY I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY I LOVE ALL THEIR CANON MOMENTS
Favorite headcanon trope/idea? (Your own or someone else’s)    this is somehow both vague and very specific but i think misukazu gives off this vibe: He's beautiful. I can't tell him. or "Kazu is always beautiful~" Don't call me that, Kazu thinks. I'm not. so... insecurities i guess ????? AJSHAJJD
Favorite aspect of them/their relationship dynamics?     THIS IS GOING TO SOUND SO CHEESY but i love how /real/ they allow themselves to be around each other. misukazu at their best is when one thinks "you're you. and i love that you" and the other knows this. i just. THEY VALIDATE THE OTHER SO MUCH CRIES
Least favorite aspect of them/their relationship dynamics? (Can be headcannon)     this isn't a "least fav" so much as "it makes me sad" but if either of them showed any sign of not being interested anymore the other is more likely to give up then push anything. sort of like "it was bound to happen, so i'll enjoy now until they drop me" or EVEN WORSE they think the other would be better off without them and pushes them away. so yeah the fact i can see one of these happening makes me sad.
If they aren’t a canon pairing, how would you get them together?     they give off "everyone knows we're dating but us" energy but at the same time i feel like they'd acknowledge there's something and just not define it bc a) they don't need to (misumi) or b) they're too nervous to (kazu). in other words i think one day they are holding hands and misumi says "kazu? is this dating?" and kazu holds his breath before asking "do you want it to be?"
If you had to take them and plunk them into another fandom, what fandom would that be? Why?     i think theyd be hilarious in any sports animanga (kazu is manager tho bc noodle arms but maybe they bond when misumi walks him through some of his usual training menu one night - ahem. anyway) BUT ALSO horimiya au...
How hard is it write/draw your pairing? Scale of 1-10.     AJDHAJDHSF I REALLY LOVE THEM SO IT COMES PRETTY EASILY... but sometimes you try to put them in tropes and realize they would Just Not Work Like That. idk where i'm going with this. but yeah. anyway 3 for sankaku.
Is there a pairing that you think rivals them?     in terms of what i ship, i tend to ship kazu and misumi individually with a lot of dif charas AJDHAKD. but in terms of like... in-universe "rival" pairings: kazu side: tsuzukazu (maybe, lbr it would take them 273924 yrs to actually get together), kazu x someone from winter (i... have my reasons but they'd take longer than what this answer entails) misumi side: ... surprisingly none that i can think of ahdjahd
Which character of the pairing do you like more? (Would you ever pair yourself with them?)     you know that tweet that's like "sometimes a ship is just your two favs"? yeah that's misukazu for me. but if i had to choose... misumi AJDHAJHDSF I HONESTLY WASNT THAT INTO YUME UNTIL THESE TWO CAME AROUND (NOT COUNTING 707)... but yeah if they wanted to hold me in their arms i wouldn't oppose
Which character of your pairing would be the one to break up with the other? Why?     OOOOOH BOY well. i think it could be either of them. i don't think they'd break up for lack of love but too much love and wanting the other to be happy and thinking that the only way to give them that is to let them go. so i guess the question is which of them would be more likely to be selfish and hold on. thinking this way, i think misumi would be more likely to break-up, bc kazu has lots of friends who are better than him!! and misumi is more ready to leave if he thinks he needs to than kazu is. now im sad.
Are they relatable as characters or as a pairing?     THE NUMBER OF TIMES I'VE BEEN CALLED KAZU KIN... in all seriousness kazu's struggles with speaking out and (shinobi spoilers) his uncertainty over his future hit real close to home... while i don't relate as much as misumi, his struggles always manage to tear my heart into pieces... ((oversharing alert) i guess what really separates me from misumi is his struggle with his desire to connect with family who has treated him poorly... whereas im more "lol fuck you") tldr i relate to kazu slightly more LOL
Did you once/ever dislike one/both of them?     i never disliked them but i was NOT expecting either of them to shoot up so quickly into my favs list ahdjahdjf. also i started shipping them Immediately After reading summer main story so there's that
On an estimate, how many posts have you made about them?    as of september 28th 2020 i make up 11/78 fics on ao3 in the romantic misukazu tag and 2/12 in the platonic one. i may have brainrot.
What made you decide to ship them?     TBH I FINISHED THE MAIN STORY AND WENT "OH MY GOD... THAT'S MY SHIP" but now that i'm here i continue to ship them because they have the potential to bring out both the best and the worst in each other and i'm all about that
Favorite genre for them? (Angst, fluff, etc.)     angst. i just. angst hurt/comfort all the way. im so sorry babies.
lol you thought there would just be 21 ANYWAY EXTRA 1: how do they spend breaks/vacation?    they'd travel a lot when they're older!! kazunari loves to travel and misumi would follow kazunari anywhere (also, new triangles!!) so they go somewhere new whenever they have the time. however i think eventually one or both of their future careers will take them anywhere and everywhere anyway, so their "ideal vacation" might turn into an evening in, cuddling and catching up (as if they didn't already send play-by-play updates over the phone of whatever they did during the day)
EXTRA 2: first date?     i don't they ever have an explicit first date, but if asked they'll cite the time they had a picnic in the park turned triangle hunt turned accidental dip in the duck pond. at least, kazunari will. misumi just tilts his head and wonders what you mean.
EXTRA 3: gifts?     IM FEELING REALLY CHEESY SO I'M MAKING THIS ABOUT ANNIVERSARY GIFTS they both end up getting each other jewelry (although kazu was really really nervous bc he wasn't sure if misumi would wear it). kazu gets misumi a bracelet (with triangles, of course although misumi only wears it sometimes because he doesn't want to lose it) and misumi gets kazu a pair of triangle earrings "so we can match!" and kazunari combusts at the implications
EXTRA 4: sharing clothes     THEY'RE ACTUALLY AROUND THE SAME SIZE (and tend to wear baggier stuff barring kazu's skinny jeans)... but they have completely different Styles so it's still really obvious when steal each other's stuff ahdjajdkaf. as cute as kazu would look in sumi's sweatshirt i think the much more likely scenario is kazu wrapping misumi in his jackets because this boy nEVER BRINGS HIS ANYWHERE anyway just. accidental shared wardrobe misukazu.
EXTRA 5: lake house au    consider: kazunari living in a house on the shore of a lake for a summer for Art Purposes (and a little bit for Dealing With Life purposes but he's not gonna admit that) and meets his lake neighbor misumi who kazu thinks might be a ghost or spirit for a while but he actually just lives further down the lake and misumi unknowingly helps kazu with his Life Issues and maybe they fall in love

naruto blogging part 4: i can't believe im starting to like itachi, he's so pathetic. sasuke has 1 braincell and its just constantly screaming murder, he's so stupid.
576 itachi is the worst at communicating. he just says stuff and never elaborates or explains, no wonder sasuke is like this. here's sasuke trying to make sense of things and get some closure and itachi's like im not explaining nothing.
Tumblr media
579 their susanoo each have the half ribcage with the two together forming a whole. i also noticed it earlier that the hood part of the 3rd susanoo layer has another set of eye holes making 4 pair of eyes total in a complete eternal mangekyo sharingan susanoo.
Tumblr media
591 he is no longer asking for forgiveness and actually telling the truth. good scene.
Literally brought neji back for 1 chapter to kill him off and then forgets about team gai immediately after.
Tumblr media
he's talking like his dog threw up on the carpet again.
Naruto has become a kaiju series again.
I can't believe every problem in the shinobi world could have been fixed if hashirama and madara had kissed.
Tumblr media
i found it, the worst haircut in the manga.
Tumblr media
literally changing his mind every 3 days he really does not think, all emotions zero thoughts.
Tsunade gets bisected and left there for an hour but neji dies instantly from a stab. smh
654-655 hell yeah power of friendship
is hashirama just cancer??? immortal cells, reproduces like crazy, endless regeneration, weird shape. made the tree made the white zetsus made half a tobi body made narutos arm. and the titty face
wait a moment didn't madara and kabutoo say earlier that his edo tensei had revived madara at full strength. so he just gave up resurrective immortality and indestructibility for uh nothing maybe a slight powerup? idk man the obito fight could have been a good final battle. madara feels like clean up
im still not over madara chatting with hashirama while he's got hashirama's face on his tit
madara put obito's right eye in the left socket. what. actually im probably the fool fro trying to make sense of thing naruto never made sense to begin with. wait not obito's eye. madara implanted his eyes in nagato. tobi was the one who collected nagato's corpse. wait then why did madara only get one eye back. oh obito was using the other eye. things make sense for once
if octopus got extracted how;s B not dead
661 the blatant excuse to give sasuke a new powerup. freeing hashirama is so much more useful given he's built up as the most powerful person ever.
Tumblr media
ch 661 Speaking of madara the foiling is obvious. the dude who gave up on reality and tried to do everything himself. someone pointed out something interesting, given sasuke's resemblance to izuna, madara stabbing him through the heart gives an extra layer of depth. Madara repeats hashirama's line from when hashirama stabbed madara in the heart in the og vote battle, and so in killing sasuke he is metaphorically killing both his brother and child (in the sense that sasuke's an uchiha boy)
663 this is like the worst medical practice i have seen yet. have you heard of compressions??? a defibrillator???
an interesting ending would have been to remove chakra from the world. but learning to live in a world of chakra is equally interesting

光のないオオカミ(Hikari no nai ōkami )(part 1) (part 2 here)
the wolf without light
Summary: after wolf loses his master kuro, and with the crusade of the holy child over, wolf feels like theres nothing else to live for.
Until he meets a misterious woman with connections with the spirit realm
Word count:2,328
《♤♤♤》
The lively chatter of the town seemed dull to him.
A shinobi with no cause, for him the biggest of shames.
And now to top the cake he stumbles drunkly on the streets, the cold of winter does nothing to his skin, and so falls face flat on the floor and his eyes close.
Pure darkness.
He gasps a fresh batch of air,his eyes scan the place, clear Sky,green Grass and an endless sunflower field before him.
He stands up,no hungover,no dizzyness, what is this place?
--you heed the name wolf,is that correct?
A woman says behind the Man, with her arms folded behind her back.
--Who are you?
Wolf asked turning around.
The misterious girl looks up to meet his gaze.
The shinobi gasps softly -- _Jimuwari_
Jimuwari was one of the most emblematic kunoichi, having accomplished many things while in duty, yet one day she left without a trace.
Of course jimuwari wasnt her name, that was left under wraps, how ever the nickname came from a gesture , a sunflower would be placed on the scene when she flet once her task was done, and so the people in town decided to name jer jimuwari, sunflower.
--I see that the myths about me are still sung in earth...welcome wolf...
-w what is this place?
The shinobi looks around him,the Fields seemed to go around forever.
--This place has a lot of names y'know?the field of reeds,or the aaru, heaven...I call It...home
--heaven?am I---
--no of course not dear--her han rests on his shoulder-- it just so happends that you were needed here, follow me...
He nodds, fullowing suit as they made their way to...somewhere.
--You wonder where im taking you...its okay you can trust in me
--how do you--
She chuckles,a soft melodic sound like the chime of a bell.
--I cant read minds if thats what youre wondering, your expression says it all dear
A shadow hovers above them, a house stretches over the Sky, it seemed bigger than what it really was.
-First you might want to take care of yourself, come inside and make yourself comfortable
He opens the door for her,Bowing as he does so.
Even with the years manners still remain, maybe he wasnt as much of a waste as he thought he was.
Jimuwari enters with wolf behind her--Behind that wall theres a kettle with tea, pour yourself a cup of it ,If you so desire
The Man nodds silently and dissapears behind the door.
The woman sighs and grabs two bowls of rice, walking softly to the room besides the little kitchen.
And so there he is, wolf sipping slowly and silently from his tea.
She sits infront of him before handing him the rice.
--So you see, your master, kuro asked me to help you
--i dont need any help.
--If it was true you wouldnt be here, after your crusade with the holy child, kuro asked me to give you a New purpose, today you Will rest ,and tomorrow you Will find the things I need to go back to your world...I would be extremely grateful and so Will kuro
Kuro?he would do anything for his lord, and If he told this woman to ask for his help then he Will do as she told him.
--What do you need?
--First you'll find my weapons,my sword hikari and my bow kaze...they lie beneath a maze, heavily guarded...then you'll go to a village in the mountains, there is an amulet that Will help me go back to earth
The Man nodds --If my lord asked my help beyond the Grave then ill comply...
The womans features soften--But first you must replenish your energy, today you rest, tomorrow to work...
And so it is done, wolf takes just a tiny bit to wonder around the house,a kitchen,a livingroom, upstairs theres a library with a bed and a balcony that faced into the sunflowers around it, and then, the bedroom downstairs in another building just besides the house.
Night falls on the fields, after dinner, its time to sleep, though there was just a tiny bit of a problem.
--I can take the bed on the library, I wont bother
--That bed up there Will give you a back ache
--It Will not affect my abilities tomorrow, mistress
--There you go again with that, call me jimawari or jima...,and theres no way youre sleeping up there
--But mistress-- im sorry mis jimawari im not worthy of sharing a bed with you
The woman huffs and takes his prosthetic hand, almost dragging him outside and into the bedroom..
--sleep,now....
He has no choice but to obey,he lays on the soft cotton bed, green covers slide over him as jimawari's hand Grace his face--You comfortable?
His cheeks redden , he nodds and hides his face on the pillow.
That soft bellchime that was her chuckles is all he can hear before she lays on the bed with him.
--Good night wolf
He can feel her back against his.
--Goodnight miss Jimawari...
Sun appears in the horizon marking the beginning of the day,and with it wolfs quest.
--Be careful out there wolf
Jimawari said, the Man softly grabs her hands pressing them to his chest-- As long as my heart beats any mission given Will be a mission done, mistress jimawari...
She sighs looking up to him and noddind--Good luck...
And so his form is lost into the fields.
Mission given mission done,sort of.
The battle was fierce, Many Many guards more than one could count were protecting the weapons.
The maze was really easy to get lost into, the people guarding it were good warriors, fallen by those same weapons they custodied.
Yet he accomplished his task, and though wounded he came back to the house with the weapons.
--Wolf!--jima said holding him as he fell-look at you! What happened?
She sits him in one of the sofá like furniture in the livingroom, grabbing a bunch of bandages.
--They were fierce warriors, but nonetheless im here
Jimawari huffs and sits with him-- strip
--W what ?
--strip I need to patch up your wounds...
The Man,a stuttering mess by now, does as he is told, taking the superior part of his armor, leaving his flesh exposed.
--Look at you,youre a mess...
And so with baby Pink cheeks the kunoichi treats his injuries.
--Take this--she said handing him a cup with tea--It Will help to numb the pain away...-the shinobi takes it and drinks from it,warm and fuzzy,Like the feelings in his chest.
--Now with my weapons ill be able to help you with your Next task...
--Mistress you need to stay here...--wolf cared deeply for her, even with a day of knowing her.
He didnt want to see her injured or worst.. dead...
He already lost enough people.
--Look wolf I--
She sighed and her gaze softened looking down at the Fire just under the kettle.----Sunflowers search the light, when they dont they turn to eachother, and maybe just like them we can face eachother until light comes, you dont have to face this by yourself, wolf.
The shinobi looks away and turns his gaze on the teacup in his hands.
--Its my solemn duty...
--But that doesnt mean you cant get help....
--mistress I do not want to see you hurt...
--But your words hurt more knowing that you wont let me go with you,I too dont want to see you hurt..or dead...
Both look into the others eyes before looking away.
--Ill go and get a book from upstairs...maybe I can find a recipe to help your injuries heal..
She leaves the cup on the little table and walks up to a flight of handstairs, as she climbs her hands slip, and with a missed step she is doomned to hit the ground.
Only that a pair of arms catch her just in time.
--Thank you wolf...--her laughter was nervous as her cheeks were red with shame.
The Man lets his gaze linger a bit longer before setting her back to her feet, his cheeks equally red.
--Ill go and get it,I Wont trip this time...
--Let me go with you...for good measure...
She chuckles and nodds, both go upstairs, checking some of the shelves.
Theres an idol on top of an shelf.
--Its an altar to elementus, goddes of all.
-Goddes of all?what is that that you mean?
--Different religions I suppose
she holds a sunflower in her hand
--And to think people kill eachother for things like this ,right ?but Us wolf...we are different...
He lets out a grunt in agreement before grabbing a book with a green cover.
Its full of poems, tales And beautiful drawings.
--Oh thats mine,in my free time I like to make things...
--These are amazing mistress--he flipped through the book amazed by the Grace of her creations.
--You can flip through it,lets go downstairs and you can get some rest...come on
And so the afternoon goes away as both stay in silence, jimawari making the remedie and him looking at her art.
Theres an amazing, but unfinished drawing of him, he felt flattered.
A soft smile graced his lips its been a long time since he last smiled. --Its not done yet--hes startled as jima sits with him, handing him the medicinal tea--If you sit still ill be able to finish it
--Yes please--- Im sorry I meant...as you please mistress...
--Its flatterint hearing you calling me that, wolf, but use it when you have an actual excuse to use it
She winks at him grabbing the pencil inside of the book-stay still
The Mans cheeks are red as Fire, burning just like it as he nodds and keeps his posture.
He was probably making a fool of himself.
But its worth it when he gets to see her smile.

idk if u still do the 3 sentences fic or fic request at all but im feeling a lil down today and maybe ur fic can enlighten it! what if kakashi jr. find his parents are quarrelling and its like, a very huge fight?
Technically the three sentence prompts are done but what’s this about feeling down??? How dare the world???
 *straps on writing hat*
I don’t know why I have a writing hat or why it has straps
Also I hope you don’t mind that I didn’t actually name him Kakashi Jr. just because it would get really confusing referring to them by the same name. Enjoy some really quick writing and I hope you feel better soon! Edit: You can also read it on AO3 now as well!
-
Takashi’s mom was kind of famous for having a temper, and a destructive one at that. The whole village was familiar with just how loud she could be when riled. So it wasn’t really the volume of his mom’s voice that was bothering him right now so much as what she was saying.
She’d been yelling at his dad for what felt like forever and, like he always did when confronted with this kind of blunt accusation, Takashi’s dad had shut down and was not responding. The young boy wasn’t even in the room but he could picture the Rokudaime Hokage standing utterly still, hands deep in his pockets and both eyes half lidded in a misleading expression of detachment.  He could also picture his mother, Sakura, with her thunderous expression and her strong arms waving madly through the air while shecontinued to throw words like knives, seemingly uncaring of the wounds they inflicted.
And the worst part wasthat Takashi knew it was all his own fault. His dad wasn’t to blame yet he’d said nothing in his own defense. Takashi wasn’t sure if it was because Kakashi always said he would back him in anything he did in life or if it was just because he didn’t appreciate the way he was being spoken to and refused to engage. Either way the thirteen year old recognized the very serious dilemma in front of him: to tell or not to tell.
On the one hand, owning up to what he had done was the right thing to do and both of his parents had always taught him to do the right thing whenever possible. On the other hand he was terrified. His mother would turn her anger to him and most smart shinobi tried to avoid that exact situation; it had spelled death for many people before him. He shuddered to think of what she would do to him upon finding out what he had done. More terrifying, however, was the thought of her finding out some day that he had allowed his dad to take the fall for him and that decided it. He would have to tell.
Takashi gulped as he swung open the door to his room, feeling a little like he was marching to his death. He gathered every scrap of courage he had and placed one foot in front of the other, step by step, until he had reached the center of the storm that raged through their house.
Sakura looked as if she had run home straight from the hospital upon hearing the news. She was still wearing her Head Medic uniform and there was a small bloodstain on the hem, wrinkles on the arms, stress lines on her face. Across from her Kakashi looked as if he were pulling farther in to himself than Takashi had ever seen and it broke his heart to be a peripheral cause of that. He knew very well the hard life his dad had lived; he didn’t deserve any more unhappiness, no matter how fleeting.
“-still a child Kakashi, how could you!? Do you not care about his well-being? His life? Do you want him to be like you so badly? How dare you!”
“Mom?”
Sakura’s voice cut off at his quiet, pathetic call. The quiet in the absence of her words was like a ringing in his ears and he trembled under the weight of it. Kakashi seemed to slowly rise from a stupor, his eyes sliding over to rest on his son with a flat, dead look to them.
“Takashi,” Sakura grunted, “you can tell we’re in the middle of something. Now is not the time.”
“Mom, it’s important.”
He watched his mom lift a hand to rub the bridge of her nose. She sounded as if she were barely controlling herself as she asked, “What is it?”
“It’s…you shouldn’t be mad at dad.” Sakura looked at him sharply and he rushed through the rest of his words, knowing if he faltered then he would lose his courage and not say them at all. “You should be mad at me. It wasn’t dad who signed the form, it was me. I forged his name.”
He swallowed thickly, shaking and scared and refusing to cry as the ire built up again in Sakura’s face. Her fists clenched and un-clenched rhythmically.
“You forged his name?”
“Yes.”
“On a form stating that, in his opinion, your team was ready to take on a B-rank mission meant for seasoned chunin?”
“…yes.”
He’d known that Naruto-sama had asked his dad to help oversee the missions being handed out, to help assess each team and assign them appropriately. He’d also known exactly which genin was carrying the assessments and where they were filed. It had beeneasy for someone in the know to switch one of them out so that his team was noted as being highly skilled, ready for advanced missions.
It wasn’t the greatest plan he’d ever come up with, in hindsight, but it had seemed like a good idea at the time.
Sakura had already looked ready to start spewing steam from her ears when he had come in to the room. Now she seemed about to breathe fire. The full weight of the wrongness of what he had done came crashing down on Takashi like a doton burying him in an avalanche.
“Do you understand what could have happened!?” Sakura screeched. “Your team is not ready and there is a reason for those assessments! You could have died, Takashi! Your teammates could have died! Your jonin-sensei could have died trying to protect you! Do you want that on your conscience? Do you want your teammates to come home with scars and trauma? For every time you look at them to be reminded that it was your actions that led to those things? And all for what? To look cool!?”
Takashi was crying before she had gotten through her third sentence.
“And that’sjust the personal implications! You-you-look at yourfather Hatake Takashi. You look him in the eye and tell me what part of your genius plan seemed smart to you. To lay the blame for your stupidity at his feet.”
Sakura railed and ranted and by the end both she and her child were weeping messes of emotion. Of fear and anger and relief - such strong relief that nothing bad had happened. That he was alive and whole and safe to do something just as stupid on another day.
He hated to see his mother cry, to know that he had caused her pain, but Takashi stood still like the strong shinobi he wanted to be and let her storm wash over him. He had brought it on himself and he would take the consequences.
(He would never never do something this stupid again)
When it was over Takashi had been grounded for a month, had his video game privileges revoked, and been warned of the overwhelming list of chores he would be sentenced to attending to around the house for the foreseeable future. All in all, he felt almost as if he had gotten off lightly considering how serious the consequences could have been.
He shuffled back to his room when his mother stormed off to the forest behind their home to vent the rest of her emotions. He tried desperately to stem the flow of tears and nothing seemed to work until the door to his room creaked open to reveal his father standing there.
Kakashi looked nothing more than tired, exhausted, like shutting down had taken all of the energy from him and he wasn’t sure how to get it back. Takashi looked up at him helplessly, not knowing what to say.
“That was very brave,” his dad told him quietly. “Very brave of you to tell the truth knowing what would happen if you did.”
“I’m sorry, dad! I’m sorry!” Takashi burst in to tears all over again, burying his face in his hands. He felt like the scum of the earth.
He was surprised to find arms winding around his shoulders, pulling him in to his father’schest and letting him cry there like he had as a child with a scraped knee. Takashi sobbed, clinging to his dad’s shirt and burrowing in to his embrace. Nothing was safer than Kakashi’s arms and they had always held the power to make the world disappear no matter how old he got.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered again after a long time had passed, when his weeping had become a steady slow trickle of tears. He felt Kakashi pet his hair soothingly.
“Yes, I know. And you should be.”
“Why didn’t you tell mom that it wasn’t you?” he asked. Incredibly, considering how little emotion he had seen in his father when he’d come in, Kakashi chuckled.
“Your mother has always been…spirited, I think I’ll call it. When she’s angry she’s not very willing to listen to reason. She knows that and she’s been trying to work on it for years. But this involved you and your safety. You are the single most precious thing in both of our lives. Loves makes us all irrational, but especially your mother. She needed to yell and scream. She needed to vent. I thought it would be best for her to get it out first, then when she had calmed down enough she might listen.” Kakashi pulled them apart a little to look in to his son’s eyes. “Better that she yells at me than you. I knew what her temper was like when I married her and I have accepted that part of her, ugly as it is.”
Takashi puffed up automatically. “Mom’s not ugly!”
“Her temper is,” Kakashi pointed out. “No one is perfect, Takashi. Every person you meet will have ugly parts but loving someone means that you accept their ugly parts as well as their beautiful ones. You don’t have to like it, only accept it. I love you very much but that doesn’t mean I have to like the fact that you are a giant squish-face knucklehead.”
“Daaaaaad!” Takashi scrunched up his nose. “I’m not five anymore! Quit calling me squish-face!”
“Never!” Kakashi turned his eyes up in a smile and even though he was still full of grief and terror and guilt and annoyance, Takashi smiled back, just a tiny bit happy.
“I love you too, dad,” he said. “And I’m really, really sorry.”
Kakashi’s eyes opened to give him a very long look. Takashi bore it in silence until finally his dad told him, “And I forgive you.”
And he felt like everything might be okay after all.
(When Sakura came home and he heard her whispering apologiesto her husband over and over, Takashi kept his ear pressedto the wall and made himself listen to every single word. His dad was right. Sakura’s temper was an ugly thing but that didn’t make her less of a beautiful person. He could only hope to be more like her some day.)

number threeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, WHERES MY BOY
-- god not the actual ep itself, but. I can’t bring myself to skip the intro. I love it and it makes me emo
-- welcome to the world of nabari miharu!! everything is on fire and everyone is dead
-- *shaky gloved hand enters frame* MY SON!!!!! THERE HE BE
-- who’d bring a gun to a knife fight? MY DAD THAT’S WHO!!! NO I will not call him yukimi his real name is dad
-- “why do you have a gun??” “listen it’s the 21st century” IM WHEEZING
-- I know I’ve said this like 20 times already about different characters but LOVE HIM
-- god I remember watching this and being so pissed at yoite for things this ep, which like fair because that’s all pretty fucked up, but also I don’t think it’s ever hit me that he’s still SO impressionable and young in an incredibly fucked situation. god.
-- “shinobi rule no. 2 discretion is the better part of valor” again PLEASE tell this to the naruto kids
-- ok don’t get me wrong I ADORE miharu’s use of charm in this situation but also I wish he fought like he did in the manga, I feel like it’s so much more representative of his character...he doesn’t want other people to get hurt cus he doesn’t know what hes doin...
-- u kno miharu’s gonna be hokage cus he’s the only one that naruto runs. believe it
-- yukimi telling yoite “see you at home” I AM. DISTRAUGHT
-- OK i feel like I’ve rethought miharu’s character since the last time I read/watched this part and. god. the whole fight is fucked but I never really realized how particularly it would have fucked with miharu, having everyone put themselves in the line of fire for something he doesn’t want to be involved in...he’s in worst case nightmare scenario land
-- any expression fuuma makes by default is some variation of :3. if not in form then in spirit
