people are acting like we’re saying creators shouldn’t be paid for their work; they absolutely should. and watcher already is. they have a patreon, they get sponsors, their videos regularly get millions of views which gives them ad revenue, they sell merch; they are getting paid. feeling indignant and disappointed that they’re asking us to pay for content we were already getting for free isn’t entitlement, it’s expected. they wanted to make bigger produced shows and now their budget can’t sustain it, that’s not on the viewer to make up for

I just saw the Barbie movie, and the fact that I saw so many posts prasing Ryan Gosling's interpretation of Ken but none about Margot Robbie's of Barbie this past few days says a lot.
So this is a Margot Robbie appreciation post, because I never thought I would shed a tear watching this movie.
Because I felt like crossing a very old friend I didn't remember, crossing a very old part of me I didn't remember. I felt connected to an experience every woman and designated female at birth person know.
Because I wanted to tell her "it's gonna be okay", as I would like to tell to child me, and she made me want to say "thank you" and "sorry" to the barbies which kept me company and those same I then rejected.
Of course the directions and writing of the movie are amazing, but this also conveys through Margot Robbie's interpretation, and it was beautiful.
