rant.. as an "overweight" child in asian household
okaaay so i really wanted to rant this out but i cant vent to anyone because my life fucked up and my friends literally (make me feel they) use me for academic points and an option. So i needed to let this out and the only option j have is internet.
So In early days when i was 12 before pandemic happen, i weight 34/35 kg. and for that i often get bullied because my cousins are skinny and literally the only healty and who look sexy (literally with those curves that i get sexu*****) is me. And im the problem. Because im not skinny as them and it really hurt me to core whenever i get called name on daily basis. Walk on my elder cousins? Get bullied with my (overweight adult that she admit she is) aunt name and aim to make everyone laugh but me who literally get teary everytime i heard it. I always show signs of struggle and really depress whenever they bring im the "overweight" in the family by either going silent, going in the room, locking myself, suddenly lose appetite and they didnt care. The worst part doesnt even come in yet, my mom always gave me the "stare" whenever i didnt gave a (fake) laugh at those horrible and body shaming jokes EVERYONE said, and later on she always scold me for being rude and being so weird. the pain of being bullied by my own parent hurt more than the pain i get when my heart suddenly stop because of shock one time or the hyper acidity attacks i get. This even come to the point that i develop a skill in which i dont let out sob or a sound when i cry (beside them because they think its a bonding but theyll bully me before sleeping by hugging and telling how big my body is) just because ill get called crazy for crying over simple things like that...
Then this comes the crazy part, i often get admirers. Really, boys or girls from my school. Then when pandemic comes in, i cant really be happy at home with the continues bullying of my body, and i get bullied by my 4/6 year old cousin because my parents are so close to annulment. It get me depress. I tried many coping mechanism. I cut my hair whenever i felt cutting my skin on wrist, but i get scolded. I tried sleeping all my problem, i get scolded. I tried imagining things, im getting crazy (bcs i really cant know whats real and whats not) and im getting depress more because i cant cope with all the problems aside from my parents childish on and off relationship and constant bullying, plus the pressure to get high grades without support from my life inside the school. Then because my sister always get what she wanys and wished for food, thats when my coping kick in.
I always eat whenever i feel said and its every hour. My mom aijt against it because i eat when she wasnt looking. But it get me to the point that i cant stop, i meant that it become a hobby. Then fast forward i gain.. weight. It comes to the point that i weight 64 kg! The fuck it double rigjts???? Thats when everyone fucked my mental health again by constantly reminding me how i get fat and unhealthy during pandemic, that i look good before. And i was like what??? Doesnt you people always bully me? But they doesnt remember things like that it seem when they always point how "sexy" how "skinny" am i before oandemic and now im fat little bitch. It hurts me. Because it take so much time to diet when you only knew that food is the only one to comfort you.
When things get a little lighter and schools open, i get bullied again. It added. Because i gain weight that no one wnag me anymoee and if they want they only wnag because im smart burned out asian chikd who get her ass whooped when i didnt get ranked. It felt so bad. I hate it.
Now i dont do anything because when i exercise or diet they bully me. Amd it msde me sad so i eat again and i weight. But now because of constang stress and depression, im around 60 kg. Its a big flex.
If you experience fucked up things like this, dont let yourself knew you are alone. We can do this and get our (happy) life back.

When I was little I grew up in a village in which like 300-400 people lived (maximum) and next to us lived this sweet older couple who always gave us sweets and vegetable for our parents, or they brought us stuff from when they went on vacation.
The man is now constantly sick, he suffers from parkinson and you see the early statges of dementia setting in. A while ago he wanted to go and get the German version of fish and chips with his wife but due to him needing a ton of surgeriesw constantly he wasnt able to go out with his wife. When my mom told me this I was like wtf u cant just tell me this, I’m too soft.
So I went and got fish and chips from the best market around us for him and flowers for his wife, despite the fact that I havent seen them in YEARS.

1. do you stim?
yes, sometimes! i’ve suppressed a lot of it over time but i still do some subtly.
if so, what are yr favourite stims?
touching/tapping the tips of my fingers together, stroking soft patches of skin(esp backs of my hands, wrists, or parts of my thighs, hips, ankles), cracking knuckles, stretching fingers/feet/arms/legs rly far, rapid blinking(though i also have a tic involving blinking which is similar, but involuntary), bubble wrap,flicking light switches/door lock mechanisms, bouncing on toes, toewalking, chewing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(esp pens/pen caps and similar textures), biting, mouthing/lipping things, clacking my teeth lightly, whistling, leg jiggle sometimes, jumping, skipping, hopping, and a few other rly specific things (like involving swimming, or being on something and hanging so im upside down and stuff)
2. happy stims? chewing, biting, skin stroking, finger tapping, skipping, hopping, jumping
3. negative stims? snapping fingers, “hiccuping” (it’s a little giggle/hiccup type thing i do, but idk what to call it), teeth clacking, leg jiggle, exposing too long to extreme cold temps, hitting head against things

6. what's a pet peeve of urs involving a specific sound? squeaky plastic is the worst, esp from plastic wrap. teeth grinding/bruxing is bad, hearing people having sex in another room/apt, heavy footsteps/stomping, esp when fast like running, door slamming, when people slam their hands on a table because they just thought of something, the sound quality of like...having water in your ears/popped ear drums, where everything feels muffled and almost whispery/far away, but also REALLY LOUD AND CLOSE...

10. what kind of representation would you like to see of autistic ppl in media? girls, trans folks, autistics of colour, just less cis white boy perfect example savants. autistics with “atypical” autistic symptoms. autistics with ugly meltdowns and other unpleasant symptoms. autistics who are messy eaters, who can’t dress themselves, who struggle with everyday tasks and self care. autistics with “useless” special interests that cant be reworked to make them more productive genius types. BPD, (various types of)depression, DPD/social anxiety(when i’m alone)/agoraphobia, panic disorder NOS, mood disorder NOS, DID, ADD/ADHD-PI, ASD, gender dysphoria at one point, conduct disorder or whatever it was called. IED. all i can think of. all diagnosed professionally over the years, though ASD is not on any official records because i asked it to be left off to avoid that specific abuse/stigma.
13. is the community youve found with other mentally ill ppl helpful?
mostly no. but in some ways, yes. i appreciate having more access to info, hearing relatable stories, common symptoms/experiences that help me understand things better, etc. close friends with illnesses/disorders are nice, but mostly i know them for other reasons outside of diagnoses.
14. do you find it challenging to tell ppl yr mentally ill?
absolutely
15. what are the most effective coping mechanisms youve found?
im not sure. i just...cope? somehow? not always effectively, but idk.
16. have you ever been to therapy?
ya
if yes, what helped and what didnt help?
i hate group therapy. in individual therapy, i like having my husband sit in on the sessions for support. therapist NEEDS to prompt me and ask active and specific questions. setting clear goals with clear steps helps. a lot of more “creative” methods actually are super unhelpful for me.
17. do "find your happy place" exercises help you or no?
sort of? i don’t try them much. usually they make me sadder that im not there.
18. what are some of the most Tiresome Cliches ppl tell you to deal with yr mental illness (i.e., "just do yoga!")?
“everyone gets depressed”, “yoga”, “fresh air, sunlight, and exercise!”, “essential oils”, “meditation”, “_______ diet/supplement”, “mind over matter”, “lose some weight” (THIS DOES NOT MEAN NONE OF THESE CAN BE HELPFUL AND I DO WANT TO DO SOME OF THESE THINGS, BUT STATING THE OBVIOUS ABOUT THIS SHIT AND BEING CONDESCENDING IS SO FUCKING ANNOYING)

asthma - like 4 yrs old, tendonitis - like 13 yrs old, unspecified pain/inflammation - 2019 professionally (like 2011 ish on my own, but really it started when i was ~13), nocturnal epilepsy - not done with diagnosis process/testing as of july 2019, a few chronic infections that don’t affect me any more were diagnosed when i was a kid, idk

i’ve not been involved much, tried it out, really

idk how to describe it but it’s this little metal toy helicopter i got from my grandfather. the axis is detached from the copter itself and spins on a screw that you can balance on top of the copter to make it spin on its own. my grandfather used to keep it in his office where he read the newspaper in the mornings, and when my family and i visited him i always stayed in the room right next to his office so he would be the first person i greeted every morning. after he passed away a few months ago i took the helicopter home with me as a memento of him because i miss him so much
