Chapter 9: Reconsideration

Summary: Dean gets Cas to open up a little more about how his illness will impact his relationship with Heaven.
Dean had to hand it to him – Cas was more stubborn than anyone else he knew.
That list was hard to top.
Somehow, he did manage to get better, or at least he seemed to as the next two weeks crept by. As Castiel did so, he also got better at pretending to be fully healed, so Dean took everything with a grain of salt. At least Cas finally seemed to understand that he couldn’t keep pushing himself as recklessly – Dean had gotten at least three papercuts and a headache in the last week, and Castiel hadn’t done more than give him a tired once-over. He hadn’t even tried to heal anyone or anything since that day in the kitchen.
Still, Dean had his doubts and he had his questions. More than anything, he just wanted to check in and know that Cas was going to be okay. He got his chance one afternoon in the library as they worked through the lore.

The Skin You’re In

He never did find out why they started, but he certainly did notice when.
They were sitting on the couch one winter evening, watching some kind of western that Dean had picked out, and Castiel was watching with apparent contentment. It was perfect. Well, almost. A small patch of his back itched, and no matter how he tried to scratch it, it wouldn't go away. He twisted and reached and shifted so many times that Cas took notice, going so far as to pause their movie.
“Dean. Are you alright?”
“Yeah.”
Cas gave him a look.
“Yeah, just have an itch I can’t scratch.”
“Allow me.”
Castiel had reached across the space between them, offering sweet relief for a few seconds.
“Better?”
“Mmm.”
Even so, the itch hadn’t been gone. Only minutes later, Dean had stood abruptly and walked away, driven mad by the itching.

my family’s christmas tradition is to go out and have lunch at the back porch on christmas eve and then watch scrooge (the albert finney christmas carol movie) late at night with chips and dip!

i’m proud of how good i am at tennis, i’m proud of my skill on the piano, i’m proud of my talent for maths, and i’m proud of my talent for writing!

obviously a harem are you fucking STUPID? what kind of a question is that? i want my beautiful bishoujo boys to all line up and ask for my hand in marriage ok but actually i’d LOVE to be in a fantasy/adventure anime. NOT an isekai by any means because i would never leave my family, but if i could be born into a fantasy/adventure anime? that would be a dream come true.

magnolias and hibiscus flowers! i love hibiscus flowers because i inherited my love for florals and bright colors from my dad and he loves to wear hawaiian print shirts all the time so they remind me of him. magnolias are very important to me because we used to have a lot of magnolia trees in my childhood home. there was one specific magnolia tree that separated my house and my neighbors’ house and i used to climb it every single day. we also buried my first cat beneath a magnolia bush :(
67. good luck charms?
idk how to describe it but it’s this little metal toy helicopter i got from my grandfather. the axis is detached from the copter itself and spins on a screw that you can balance on top of the copter to make it spin on its own. my grandfather used to keep it in his office where he read the newspaper in the mornings, and when my family and i visited him i always stayed in the room right next to his office so he would be the first person i greeted every morning. after he passed away a few months ago i took the helicopter home with me as a memento of him because i miss him so much
69. a fun fact that you don’t know how you learned?
it takes as much force to bite off your finger as it does to bite off a carrot. that’s one of my favorite facts i’ve ever learned

i was tagged by @iheardyourprayer (thank you so much!!! ahhhhh 💞) to share the music i’ve been listening to recently. so what i did was put my newest dean themed playlist (it feels like whenever i do these posts i end up promoting one of my playlists whoops), i'm an aquarius, i enjoy sunsets, long walks on the beach and frisky women on shuffle and picked the ones that fit this color scheme so it would look pretty
i guess some comments i could say about the songs, i got to see both reo speedwagon and styx in the same concert 3 years ago tomorrow which is a cute nostalgic moment to think back on, otherwise i really love all of these songs so much
