First let's take a moment of silence to mourn the death of my gshade. You will be missed.
But (this is a given for you but shh) my favorite is definitely my sim Patricia Carosella, who's also my favorite OC ever. She went through manyyy designs and struggles until I finally got her looking just right and I love her ❤️
As for my least favorite, I was experimenting with some slightly younger versions of Ángel so I can finally decide his canon age.
I don't think he looks BAD. If I really hate how a sim looks I'll scrap them immediately. But I just feel like there's something missing and I can't tell what it is hgdfbshg

I keep reading chapters in halves and then forgetting all the super relevant and really clever things I had to say about the first half by the time I can finish the chapter…
Reading diaries chapter 5 but mostly the second half of it
Trev and Francis <3 they’re so good and sweet and I want them to be happy. Trevor acting small is at once adorable and saddening. and absolutely loving the Trev-Annie-Dennis dynamic, though. what a little crew!!!
PATRICIA!!! NOW we’re in ttau. “I’m getting there just keep your tail on” is very Georgie of her, I approve. And have I ever mentioned I just love Vanessa a whole lot?
Your writing is brilliant as ever. I don’t mention that enough in these asks. So natural and sweeping and sometime poetic and oh so *them*

trev and francis <3 i love them and all the complex things they mean to each other. they used to be in love they changed too much for it to matter but there is something to be said about appreciating what used to exist. they mean so much to ME.
and also annie trevor and dennis are best friends. dennis might be thirdwheeling a highly chaotic platonic soulmates couple but they love him so it matters not :)
patricia and vanessa are so cool and i also love them. patricia is really an emotional support ferret through basically the whole fic and also maybe the most character ever. noodle <3

I just watched some of your bikejoring (?) videos, and I was wondering if you could talk a little about the commands/instructions you're giving them? I know absolutely nothing about dog sports, but they're really cool to watch!
I scooterjor (it's like a large, beefed out razor scooter, but for dogs) when there's two dogs in the video dryland and I'm on a steel cart when there are 3 dogs. When we have enough snow, we're always on a sled!
I use traditional english language mushing commands which are taken from horse driving, since this was the closest context to animal directional commands white colonizers (often missionaries...) had when first coming across dog sledding in the Americas. Traditional Indigenous practices typically still use their own languages.
What I use:
-Hike: meaning "go" (although I rarely if ever have to use this command, they will go regardless)
-Gee: meaning turn right
-Haw: meaning turn left
-On-by: meaning keep going past that distraction (if still moving).
-Line-Out: meaning lean into harness and hold the line tight until release. This is super important to reducing potential for tangles as well as having the dogs stay in place when asked (they are strong enough to pull through every brake I have with the exception of my snow hook and that's only dependable under certain weather conditions that are becoming rarer with climate change).
-Woah: meaning stop
The reasons these commands are used, besides tradition, is that they all end on different sounds and/or are quite distinct which makes it easier for the animal to learn and employ what is asked of them. With training animals, be it dogs or horses or cats or rats or anything else, clarity is KEY. It also ensures that when discussing directions with others in your group you aren't accidentally commanding your animals as you can say "right" and "left" freely before a decision is made.
Woah, said in a long slow tone, is universal amongst many languages and amongst many animals that work together with humans. Patricia McConnell goes over this in her book "The Other End of the Leash", which if you have any passing interest in animal behavior and the communication between people and dogs, is a good read.
Even Indigenous language commands are meant to be distinct such as in Greenlandic where they typically use "ILI" for right and "IJU" for left. (Notice how even in Greenlandic the command for right ends in that more "eeeeee" sound like "gee" vs the command for left is a more low tone. Language surrounding such simple things, such as directions, is super cool imo.
Regardless of traditional commands mushers may choose to use their own entirely. It's really up to personal choice. A lot of us also bulk out more typical commands with others that suit our specific needs.
Additional commands that i've trained:
-leave it: meaning leave that distraction alone (if already distracted and stopped). I brought this command in from regular daily obedience training. If they don't leave the distraction at this command in harness we stop them running and reset them which they do not want (stopping = boring for sled dogs) so they're usually pretty motivated to avoid having this told to them and will react pretty quickly.
-Gee over: meaning get to the right hand side of the trail (useful on walks as well)
-Haw over: meaning get to the left hand side of the trail
-Trail: get on the trail (if dog is off the trail, usually after holding them in a stay when asked to go over). We run on a multi-use trail that often has bikers and snowmobiles. Having my dogs get to the side and hold themselves there is crucial not only to the team's safety, but to be conscious of other trail users.

RL Story
Why does everything go wrong at the same time for me? I guess that negativity is contagious? 🫤
I just came home after spending most of the day at Sandra’s, to help her decorating her apartment. Shortly after I arrived, I saw Nico’s cell lying on the table in the living room. He forgot his phone this morning! Since I knew his PIN (The Number of his soccer-jersey shirt, plus once back/reserve.🤨 So sutpid! 🤦♀️) I thought I’d take a closer look at it. I checked his phone. Yeah, I know! I was spying on him. 🫤🤷♀️And omg, I got totally mad at Nico! I saw that a girl Patricia and another girl Bianca, constantly texted him. Especially on his social media. He never really texted or answered back, after he & I got back together, but the more I.... "researched", I noticed that Nico met that girl Patricia in Italy. THIS fucking summer!!!!!!!! And that Bianca was her sister. So... Nico was messing around with 2 sisters??!!😠Such an ass!! That's why he didn't want to talk about Daniel & me or ask me quuestions, when he came back home 3 weeks ago! Bcs he was hiding who he met in Italy. Jerk! I hated Nico that moment. He kept this shit from me. Somehow I didn’t trust Nico anymore. I mean, sure, we weren’t together this summer and I also slept with Daniel, but he knew about it!!!! Nico wanted me to go back to Daniel, to sort things out with him.
And that’s exactly why I wanted to stay with Daniel 10 weeks ago. I felt like Nico didn’t give a shit about me, like he used to (Philip). Of course, I confronted N. that day! I wanted to know, who that Patricia is and what went on between them? Why is she still texting him?
Nico: I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, but we weren’t together. I also knew this thing was gonna make you feel insecure. That’s why I didn’t want to mention it. And honestly? Why do you even care what I did when we were apart? You were with Daniel! You married him and still are, damn it! Besides, I didn’t plan on seeing someone else or anything. I knew her sister. There was something between her and Philip once. And in Italy, I met that girl Patricia, her sister. She worked there during the summer in the hotel. That's all.
Me: What? Philip dated her sister???😲 Aghh... thats-... thats so gross what you and Philip do- or have done. You know damn well what I mean.... I thought with you all this shit was finally over. And I just don’t understand why you kept it from me? How am I supposed to trust you now, when you have to go abroad again?... Agh, you and your fucking soccer! 😩🤦♀️
Nico: Are you done?🤨 .... You're not fair!! But anyway. I don't wanna fight! We're so happy babe. ILY, so.... let's just forget this shit. You’re not well rn. You haven’t slept for 3 nights. Something seems to be bothering you. Maybe it would make more sense to talk about that.
Me: You wanna talk about me? Well!! Yk? I keep thinking about Daniel, N.! I just can’t forget him, I want him! 😈... I’ve seen him with someone else and since then, I feel like I'm crazy over him. And you’re no better than Daniel! You hurt me too! Just... fuck off, N.!
Nico: You say I hurt you because you’re mad at Daniel?... That doesn’t really feel good to me either, to hear how much you still want him!! 😠
Me: Then you know how I felt, when I found all those messages you got. Why is she still texting you?
Nico: She wanted to know if I was back in Italy. I told her I’d stay home, with my pregnant girlfriend. I asked her to stop texting me.
Me: I don’t want to talk anymore. I just get sick of imagining what you and Philip are doing and what you two did to me.😠
Nico: I'm getting tired of this!! Don’t overdo it! You force me to get mad.
Me: Shut up, Nico! 😩🤷♀️
Nico: Finally divorce Daniel! Either you calm down, or I’ll sort this out my way. If I do, you will do as I tell you! So tell me, babe? Should I take care of your probs again? To make you feel better?
Me: What are you going to do? Are you going to threaten Daniel? Just like you threatened Dominick back then?
Nico: I'm off! 🤦♂️😠

So... Dr. Brenner tried to blow us up so we left the CDC. That was earlier. We’re sleeping in the vehicles right now. Well. Supposed to be. Shane is on watch and I don’t trust him. Anyways, nothing else new to report considering it was literally yesterday that I wrote.
I miss Brad today.
Carol, Andrea, Dale, Ric, Lori, Carl, T-Dog, Glenn, Daryl, Sophia, and Jenny.
I think the universe hates me. We were scavenging for supplies on a highway when a herd of walkers passed through. One of them chased Jenny off into the woods. I’m worried sick. There’s this pit in my stomach and it won’t go away. What if she’s gone? She’s only fourteen. She can’t be gone. Not my little sister.
Everyone is looking for her. She got run off the road yesterday. We split up, Rick, Carl, and Shane went off on their own. Then some lady came up to us on a horse and took away Lori saying Carl was shot. I’m worried about him too. He’s a good kid. Carol has been trying to console me, but I think I’m broken.
Anywho, after the lady, (her name is maggie) took Lori, Glenn took T-Dog (who is injured) to the farm Maggie lived at. Everyone else stayed back to sleep in the RV. I’m pretty sure Daryl and Andrea went looking last night too. We left in the morning to go to the farm too. Daryl swears he’ll find her. He’s really sweet. I feel bad for ever thinking he was just some hot headed hick. The farm is nice. Jenny is gonna love it here.

Daryl Dixon is a sweetheart. He gave me a flower in a beer bottle. It’s a Cherokee rose. He said that it’s a symbol of hope from the Cherokee mothers who lost their children along the Trail of Tears. I hugged him and called him sweet. He was freaked out I think.

Daryl found Jenny!!!!! He almost died while doing it.. but he found her!!! They came back earlier. She was practically carrying him, he had fallen onto a bolt. He was pretty out of it but he told her where to go. Then when they got back Andrea thought they were walkers and tried to shoot them. She missed Jenny but grazed Daryl. He’s okay. Thank god. I’m really proud of Jenny. I think she’s proud of herself too. Obviously she’s traumatized, but everyone has been telling her how amazing it was that she survived out there alone and she’s been smiling a ton. She hasn’t left my side. Or maybe I haven’t left hers. I don’t know. I’m so happy.

So there were walkers in the barn. They used to be the Greene’s family or friends but at one point they each turned and the Greene’s have been keeping them in the goddamn barn. Glenn told us this morning and Shane threw a fit. He got all the weapons and stormed it. As much as I wish I could blame him, I don’t. I even shot one of them with Dad’s gun.
Speaking of guns, we had a shooting practice yesterday. I’m actually a pretty good shot. So is Jenny. I guess it’s in our blood, Dad used to love his shooting ranges. I miss Dad. And Mom. And Brad. Ugh.

Um so.. we now have a hostage in the barn. This kid Randall. Rick, Glenn, and Hershel came back from the town with him tied up. His leg was seriously injured. The group is at a crossroad trying to figure out what to do with him. Some want to kill him, other’s think that Rick should just drive out and drop him somewhere. I don’t really know where I stand.
Also, Lori got into a car accident trying to get Rick home. Apparently she’s pregnant too. Drama. I feel like I’m back in high school.
Beth has been in sort of a shock-like state since the barn. Apparently her Mom was one of the walkers. (That’s also why Hershel, Glenn, and Rick were in that town. Hershel went to the bar and Glenn and Rick had to retrieve him. He wants us to leave.. I don’t think we’re going to.) I’ve been helping watch over her. Jenny too. Jenny liked her a lot, they’re closer in maturity than Jen is with Sophia.

Andrea is crazy. She basically told Beth to kill herself. I’m shocked. I haven’t spoken to her at all since. Beth is okay, thank god, but someone has to watch her 24/7 now.
Also, Shane and Rick almost let Randall go, but for some reason, they returned with him still in the truck tied and gagged. Daryl had to torture him. I think Daryl and I had a little moment too. I was patching up his wounds and for a second it almost looked like he was going to kiss me. Is it bad that I wanted him to? I feel so guilty about it. All I can think about is Brad. I know he’d want me to be okay without him, but would he want me to be with someone else? Am I crazy? Ugh.

We lost the farm. Everything happened so quickly. Dale died, then Shane killed Randall, then Rick killed Shane. The barn was on fire, and a giant herd attacked the farm. Jen and I just barely made it out with Glenn and Maggie. We met up with the others at the highway Jenny went missing on. Daryl and I had another moment. He hugged me really tight when he saw me. I hugged him too. I was really relieved to see him. I’m still really relieved to see him.
Andrea didn’t show up at the highway. I feel awful. She’s probably dead and I was so rude to her.
I’m scared. We’re all infected (oh yeah! We all carry the infection. If we die, we become walkers.), we have no shelter, Lori is pregnant, and it’s almost winter. I am running out of optimism.

Rant about My Policeman
Hi, it's been a while but I think I need to vent about the movie. Being a Harry fan for so long made me actually anticipate for this movie a bit and to be honest I was not expecting to be out today lol. I thought the movie was going to be on Amazon Prime only next month, but anwyays, here we are. I've watched the movie and I'm here to rant because I kinda need to take this movie out of my system. Don't even know if I'm going to post this or not. As a person who hasn't read the book this is my sincere rant about the movie.
Spoilers ahead...
So, about the movie. I was kinda surprised, the pacing is not that bad I think the flashbacks with the old and younger versions made sense. But I fear some things were kind of rushed? For me it was obvious that Marion felt guilt about something she had done in the past because why would she bring the man that supposedly ruined her marriage back home right? And then it all came to an end when it was revealed that she was the one that reported Patrick.
Now about the characters... I could not relate to any of them besides Patrick, to be honest. THERE WAS no backstory. We knew about Tom's sister and that Marion was a schoolteacher but... uh? There was not dept... The characters stories were there but there was nothing left for us to expect from them. Patrick's entries on his diary were fantastic so I think we could get into his head a bit. But Tom? I really don't know what to say... This is a story about a closeted character who may have internalized homophobia and internalized feelings, that's true. But his actions shown a selfish side and sincerely I could not feel like he was sorry for making Patrick and Marion 'share him'. This is only my interpretation, of course.
The sex scenes between the male characters were soooo good. They really depicted how intimate and passionate these two characters were with each other. I'm not saying this is the movie highlight but I was really """happy""" with how they ended up...? Then we see how Marion and Tom's 'lovemaking' was, nothing but an obligation, no intimacy, love and passion. Dull and dry....
OH GOD DAVID DAWSON HELLOO! I really don't want to talk how I laughed when I realized that he was Fred Best from Ripple Street. I can't believe I forgot about that lol i'm sorry, dear... You were marvelous in this movie and as Fred Best too, btw.
The Venice trip though, oh my god The Talented Mr. Ripley feels... Patricia Highsmith pls hold me I have to talk about you, I'm sorry. Ily queen. But yeah, it reminded me of Minghella's The Talented Mr. Ripley and it was just great. Thank you. Everything felt magical about it because Tom and Patrick seemed happy. No one there knew them, they could go out and be each other for once. So good for them, really. These scenes were so good to show how these two were happy and how they loved each other so much.
But then, let's talk about how Marion reported Patrick to the museum people and the police and how Patrick feelings were shown here. Uh, that was so weird... I was a bit taken back by how Tom would react to this, he seemed only worried about being found out and not worried about Patrick. It's like he never cared about Patrick that much. Lol He was going to jail??? I mean, your lover was going to jail baby. I think they could have put it differently and explored that a bit much in the early months or days after Patrick was arrested. Because it was clear that Tom has been haunted his whole life by his decisions and what happened with Patrick back there, he rejected and hid these feelings for a very long time. He repressed his own identity for his whole life, we could see that. But I think they needed to show that in the movies because it made Tom a cold character.
Anyways I thought the ending was quite good I just had to take this out of my chest. It was a OK movie, it made me think a lot about it after I've watched it... So it did its job, I guess?

🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.
I think a lot of what I write always has a bittersweet feeling to it. like the characters will be having a nice time together but there’s always like an undercut of like sadness because that’s something I always like to explore. there’s always patricia and eddie too lol.
🎉 What leads you to consider a fic a success?
whether or not I can reread it a while after and enjoy it. like there’s some stuff I’ve written we’re certain parts will make me cringe but others I read through later and because I tend to write mainly for myself I really enjoy it. I almost never like them directly after posting so this is always i fun thing to check
