Burgeon Lagoon View Imperial IPA (Picked up at Windmill Farms). A 3 of 4. Nice tropical and stone fruit in the nose, and the body has a ton of broad citrus hop notes. Clean and light body that hides the 8% quite well, and manages to be quite well-balanced. The bitterness is there, but this quite a bit bigger than it seems on all fronts than you expect on first glance.

Did a side by side today of the Hercules Imperial IPA and the Hazy Hercules Imoerial IPA from Great Divide Brewing out of Denver, CO. Both were excellent, but despite my preference for Hazy’s lately, I think the regular Imperial IPA had a little more flavor (although the Jazy was more balanced). The hazy also had a little less carbonation, so I preferred the mouthfeel for the regular IIPA as well. Overall I’d happily drink both again.

Burgeon Can’t Stop Juicing’ Hazy IIPA (Picked up at Windmill Farms). A 3 of 4. A really nice big IPA with lots of juicy tropical fruit and citrus in the nose and body. There’s a nice grapefruit pith-like bitterness in the body, and this has a nice thickness that others miss.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Migration Brewing will be releasing Migration IPA as a new core offering to full state-wide distribution on June 1st. This modern, American IPA will be replacing Hop Fire IIPA and will be hitting the shelves at all major retailers in Oregon. The beer was developed at Migration’s small batch innovation center “The Shop” over the past 6 months. The new IPA is a central piece of Migration’s regional distribution strategy and will be available throughout the company’s west coast footprint that includes Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Colorado.
“Migration IPA is a celebration of everything that our company stands for; bringing together the culmination of 13 years of brewing experience, commitment to quality, and a passion for great beer” says Mike Branes, Co-Founder and Brew Master. “We’ve curated some of the region’s most sought-after ingredients and have challenged our beer team to develop a next generation IPA. I think this new beer will really be enjoyed by both brewers and craft beer fans,” states Branes.
The Migration IPA has a lean grain bill that pushes the Citra, Azaca and Cryo Columbus hops to the forefront with plentiful and punchy aromatics. The flavor profile exudes bright notes of tangerine, peach and grapefruit. Coming in at 6.4% abv and 50 ibu, it is meant to be an everyday IPA, and has the potential to be an instant classic. The Migration IPA will also be available at all company locations in both package and draft year-round!

It’s creamy, juicy, deep, rich and warming with booze (no surprise at 13%!) Rarely a IIIIPA or higher achieved anything more than just a novelty gimmick but this on is an amazing beer.
