im rewatching jonathan strange and mr norrell and im about 98% convinced there must be a parallel universe where this show has a fandom as big as good omens or ofmd

something that always drives me crazy is how the fandom depicts avatar kyoshi as a ruthless, badass person who kills first and asks questions later when ?? from what we've seen ??? she's not ?????

when she killed chin the conquerer it was because he was a cruel tyrant trying to take over the earth kingdom, and she killed him and created kyoshi island. but something that always struck me about that scene is that chin had already amassed a huge army and had, from what we can assume, already begun his takeover. kyoshi is often depicted as someone who kills without hesitation or moral debate, but clearly, she left chin alive long enough to gather an army and begin his invasion. I don't know a lot of details about that era, but I wouldn't be surprised if kyoshi had been trying to stop chin in more peaceful ways, but in the end was forced to kill him because he was too stubborn to stop. only as a last resort.

also, she isn't particularly bloodthirsty and I don't know where people keep getting that idea. when she was talking to aang on the lion-turtle she said she would have done whatever it took to maintain balance. I don't take this to mean that she likes killing people, or turns to it as her first response to everything, but she does do what's necessary as the avatar, and sometimes that means taking a life. she doesn't regret doing what she has to do, and she'd do it all over again if she had to, but it's not something she particularly enjoys and goes out of her way to do. especially since what we saw of chin showed that he had lived long enough to gather an army and begin to invade before she killed him. so clearly that wasn't her first action to take against him. if that makes sense.

My subconscious said Danny Phantom and Dexter crossover and now I'm trying to figure that out.

Dexter can sense something's off about Danny. Not in the way he senses other people like him, more just this strange atmosphere of death around the kid. Like Dexter, he is pretending to be human, but unlike Dexter, he actually is, underneath all the pretending. It's paradoxical and enigmatic and Dexter doesn't know what to think about it but this kid keeps coming up (maybe Danny is working as an intern with CSI, maybe he's involved in recent cases, maybe Dexter just somehow happens to run into him ocer and over again) and he feels some kind of kinship. That tie to death, something deeply wrong with both of them, even if in different ways.

Danny's ghost sense kind of lingers in his throat whenever he's around that blood spatter analyst. Like he doesn't think he's a ghost but there's definitely something weird about him. When he isn't wearing the same charismatic smile he's seen on Vlad's face he gives off this dangerous aura that kind of makes Danny want to go ghost. And call him crazy, but he misses home, the ghosts and the fighting and everything, and this guy kind of gives off a similar vibe to his rogues in Amity. Similar but also very different, it's weird. Danny's incredibly curious. He's also unfortunately his parents' child, and kind of wants to get a blood sample to see if there's any ecto...

Bonus: Cody and Astor stab Danny at some point and Dexter freaks out because you can't just stab people without a premeditated plan to murder them and hide the body but Danny's just reminded of Youngblood and is like "haha okay we can play for a bit :)" Which kind of freaks them out because that's definitely not a normal reaction but on the other hand now they have another person who will help them practice murder (not that Danny realizes that's what he's doing).

so honestly, for me? if we’re getting dreams and hallucinations and flashbacks? i’m sated, so…so far i’m wishing for a horrifying irl reveal later in the game. probably at the trial. so we can be as blindsided about irl lestat as louis is. for maximum devastation.

tbh the only louis-armand-lestat interaction that’s been vaguely in my head as likely to happen is the trial, and that is wildly painful so i uh haven’t been thinking about it too closely lol.
