"choi yumi!" banging on your 13 years old's door, you felt your heart clench when you heard a muffled 'go away!' from her on the other side of the door.

with tears in your eyes, you left to your shared bedroom with your husband who has yet to return from work. normally, san would be back around 10:00, it's 11:57.

sighing, you stare ar the door of your bedroom, snuggly tucked in your bed, hoping that san would walk in with the usual bright smile on his face.

as if on cue, said man enters the bedroom happily with a beautiful bouquet of flowers in his hand. his smile falters upon seeing your teary eyes. he scrambled his way towards you, hastily abandoning everything he had in his hands to fill it with your cheeks.

"why are you crying, my love?" you suck in a shaky breath, "i just- it's... so hard to be a parent, sannie." the male felt his heart shatter as you let out a broken sob, "i know, love. i know it's hard," he kisses your forehead, "but every relationship has its ups and downs."

he moved to place you on his lap, "do you remember how many times we broke up all those years ago?" he giggled, trying to lighten the mood, but you only hit his chest. "don't even remind me, do you know how upset i was?"

san only smiles and kisses you lovingly, hands securely wrapped around your waist. you smiled into the kiss and fiddled with the hair on his nape. soon, your daughter comes rushing into your room with tears in her eyes, "ma, i'm sorry!"

shoving her dad aside, yumi pounces you and sobbed into your shoulder, mumbling soft apologies into your shoulder. you and san share a look before you smile and hug your daughter tightly, san doing the same.

indulgent established klance long-distance boyfriends coalition paladins/BOM keith reunion event GO:

keith gets to the dinner early

he had to ask kolivan to put him on the list as one of the BOM agents going and if that dude ever laughed at anything keith would swear he was laughing at him when he uninvited somebody else to put keith on the list

it's this gorgeous bigass hall with lovely vaulted ceilings and the biggest longest table keith has ever seen

aproned aliens are in set-up mode, scurrying around setting utensils and plates and namecards and chairs all around this table

keith has his mask up and everything and he nods respectfully at some of the staff as he starts to walk the length of the table

it's been too long since he saw the team he knows that and they know it too

he knows they miss him, knows it in his bones that they miss him at least some fragment as much as he aches for them (which is so much all the time)

pidge hacked a touchpad to let it transmit through the signal jammer outfitted at the BOM base so he does get to message and call home sometimes but tbh he's not on-base very often before he's jetting off to the next crazy mission halfway across the galaxy

anyway he's in this hall scanning the namecards and letting his mind wander while he waits for the guests--but mostly his former team--to show up

he finds his own card next to kolivan's, only it just says "blade of marmora guest" anonymous and replaceable, just like usual

allura is set to be seated at the head of the table with the other important people and key speakers

keith smiles despite himself at the thought of allura pacing the halls of the castleship this past week, running through versions of speeches for anyone who will listen

the smile turns into an ache when he thinks of lance, perched on the kitchen counter, legs swinging, or draped across the lounge couch, head tipped off the edge, listening and humming appraisingly at all the right moments

turning those warm brown eyes to the ceiling and pretending to think hard on it when allura asks him if he thinks she's ready

"of course princess" he'd say, placing a hand on her shoulder and squeezing gently

"I think you were born ready"

because lance has always been good at that, at making you feel like the most capable person in the Universe

halfway down the opposite side of this grandiose table, keith finds what he hadn't known he'd been looking for: four name placards right in a row, each labeled with a name and "Paladin of Voltron"

takashi shirogane, pidge holt, hunk garrett, and lance mcclain

keith frowns sourly at the next name, some alien duke or duchess or whatever the fuck, somebody important who has just won the diplomacy dinner lottery by being offered the seat next to the blue paladin

he looks across the table from here to his own seat, looming positively miles away across and down this long ass mcfreaking table

who made this chart anyway???

keith is still grumping about it as people begin to show up and he shrinks a little into himself, scanning the room for those familiar faces, the anticipation buzzing under his skin

he's so lost in the looking that he forgets himself and gets totally ambushed by a voice right up against his ear

"Getting on just as socially as usual, I see"

he whirls ready to FIGHT but it's allura !!! and the relief and joy at seeing her in person for the first time in multiple space-months is such whiplash that he pitches straight into her open arms and holds tight

when he recovers he takes down the mask and squirms awkwardly

allura is gentle and kind, knows he hates the diplomacy part, knows he's only here because he misses all of them, one of them in particular...

they do small talk for a bit, allura growing worse and worse at hiding her amusement as keith continues to turn and stare at the door with increasing frequency

her eyes are sparkling the way they do when she gossips and she asks him point blank "so, you must be excited to see your boyfriend again"

keith's mind goes blank "n-no" yknow like a liar

she's downright snickering at him and he still can't resist scanning the room

she throws him a bone, tells him the other paladins are running late coming back from the parade but will arrive soon

keith is like coolcoolcool no doubt no doubt but really cannot stop staring at the door and feeling like he might throw up and is his hair okay he didn't really think about this before he showed up, hasn't even seen it in actually days because he's had the suit on, and the suit is DUMB what the fUcK--

they get approached by other diplomats from various coalition planets and allura turns on the schmooze

keith checks his touchpad--there are three messages from lance

"SORRY BABE RUNNIGN LATE"

so fucking upset. i looked up what's considered concerning weight loss and got a statistic. i looked up the same question but specified teens and i got a bunch of articles about how to lose weight. what the fuck

AND they had been touched by shrimp & cabbage juice & soft peanuts #i mean i did drown them in soy sauce first and got nauseous thinking about it the rest of the day. but progress #i mean. im the type of person to skip a meal or barely eat because i dont like the food available or its too loud where i am #my adhd impacts it too like sometimes ill forget to eat or wont be able to make anything that day #but like goddamn. a growing child should be gaining weight. #wick lore #i have asked myself this question with almost every character but for cinder i was thinking abt her dustweave (?) clothing #dustweave. dust infused. something like that #her v1 outfit that has the design on the sleeves that lights up when she sends out fire. that's her using fire dust that's in the cloth #but as far as i know this is a detail that literally never comes up again like we never see anyone else with clothing like this #so i asked myself. what if that was her semblance instead. that she had the ability to sew dust into cloth #how hard would it be for the girl modelled after cinderella to know that her semblance required her to do domestic labor to be used #thus explaining why it doesn't show up in later volumes because once she gets the maiden powers she thinks she doesn't need it #idk i think making her semblance be 'she can heat stuff up' and thus making her semblance indistinguishable from maiden powers #for the entirety of the series. is a bit of a waste. bc semblances say a lot about characters right #i know there's a point to be made about like. it manifested as that at that time because cinder has always been angry etc etc #but wouldn't it hurt from a different narrative angle. to have her semblance be dustweaving. when she doesn't have any money #no money to buy dust with but a semblance that makes her a skilled and incredibly rare craftsperson but can she bear to sell her skills #when they've been used against her for so long? when all she's known is hard work and grit and sweat? when it's probably dangerous?#anyway i think im about to hit the limit for tags but. lmfao. the possibilities!!! also the association between handsewing and the HOME!#something she's always wanted but never had. a safe place to sit by a fire that she doesn't have to tend and do her work...#also like the possible tension with mercury bc she's wishing her semblance was more offensive + merc's like BE GRATEFUL YOU HAVE ONE???#i headcanon that mercury has a semblance though. that he has silver eyes and his dad took those from him by making him hate the world #...anyway #goodnight

let me tell you as someone who survived pop music artists stan twitter or whatever it’s called, marvel twitter, game of thrones twitter, and bts twitter (i wasn’t really involved with stranger things twitter but i trust you guys when you say it’s terrible)— it’s a shit show over on that app. like when people say they don’t want twitter users here, they’re not saying it to be gatekeep-y or whatever. they’re saying it because they don’t want to deal with seeing or experiencing any harassment.

twitter thrives off of toxicity. i think you can definitely attempt to create a healthy space for yourself depending on what your interests are, but i imagine that’d be hard because even if you don’t interact with anyone, you’re still seeing others interact with people in a horrible way. i know that being a part of fandoms that are big always led to there being drama every single day and drove me away from even wanting to talk about my interests. people really do help curate the experience you have with whatever you’re a fan of and when the people are bullying, harassing, and being rude; you suddenly do not like that thing all that much anymore.

you really have to experience twitter to fully understand it in my opinion. there’s a certain way that it works and it becomes very cliquish/cultish and idk it sounds dramatic for sure but the ones who have been on twitter and are saying it’s a bad place understand 100%.

i've seen it a lot so this is just my two cents but i don't think that?? new orleans witches are powerless outside of new orleans that's always been an odd thing people claimed to me

they can do magic outside of new orleans they just practice ancestral magic in the city because that's where their ancestors were consecrated and it makes them stronger??? they don't just. lose the ability to practice magic (obviously, considering the ancestral well was destroyed in season three and vincent was still able to do magic in season four. followed up by them restoring it in season 4 but making davina the keeper of it all and, in season 5, releasing all the ancestors from the ancestral well while still being able to practice magic afterwards). not to mention papa tunde said he practices ancestral magic but wasn't from new orleans so obviously there are other ancestor aligned covens in the world but he, in new orleans, could use their magic anyway?? keep in mind that the ancestors that we've seen are specifically on a plane separate from the other side & the plane everyone's living in and the harvest is the thing that restores power to them for witches to use

sooo. YEAH. to me it would seem like they're still fully capable of doing magic, it just wouldn't be drawn from the ancestors (which only boosts their strength to begin with). it'd be their own power. which, for witches who leave their covens anyway (such as davina, who was not only able to do magic after leaving the coven BUT ALSO after being shunned by new orleans ancestors & witches alike), are already doing that??
