So, I have a headcanon regarding Outlander and Valkorion
Spoiler territory for pretty much the whole game (mostly Jedi Knight and Sith Warrior class stories and all expansions from Shadows of Revan).
How does Outlander (especially non Force user) defeat Valkorion in KotET? This question bothered me (and I'm sure all of you) for quite some time. And frankly, the game doesn't answer it very well. So I did some thinking, searching and theorizing, and found a solution that I will bring in my personal stories. Just thought it would be interesting for others to see as well.
Explanations offered in the game:
Valkorion's power had become weaker at some point (as noted by Arcann in chapter 8 "Taking Flight", and indicated by events on Ziost, since Theron wasn't possessed, and by Valkorion in chapter 9 "Eternal Throne", when he said that he needed Vaylin's power to destroy Outlander's mind);
Arcann and Vaylin helped defeat him;
The holocron was the instrument of Valkorion's defeat (but it's never properly explained how exactly);
The "kneel before the dragon of Zakuul" phrase worked on Valkorion because the Outlander said so.
It doesn't sound too bad, but when I tried to go into details, it didn't make much sense. "My mind, my rules" was really out of nowhere, also kinda goes against the previous experience of Outlander not being able to do anything about Valkorion before that. And Arcann and Vaylin being on your side isn't the key either because even the three of them were still losing, it only changed after the main character said the key phrase. And why the heck does it even work like that? Because they said so? Gee, should've thought about it a few chapters before, no?
Now, what I came up with doesn't really go much different from that, I just made some adjustments to make it flow better (at least for myself). I'll talk through my thoughts in chronological order, so bear with me (I tried to summarize it at the end, so scroll if you want the short version).
Vitiate learned to transfer his spirit as one of the ways to be immortal. It can happen either through a ritual, which is preferable since it's easier, doesn't weaken him, and he doesn't need time to adjust, but it does require consent from a person, or killing the previous host, which does weaken him for some time. The longer he has possessed a host, the greater the loss of power will be upon the transfer. It's not to say that he isn't dangerous, quite the opposite, but perhaps he can't do some 'impossible' things (like consume a planet or shatter a mind) just like that.
He was at his full power before the events on Belsavis and Voss, timeline wise. Remember how easily he possessed the minds of the Jedi on the strike team? Yeah, Jedi Knight broke free, but that's bc they're super strong (and the main character in their storyline).
But because of Baras Vitiate had to be released from the body on Voss by being killed, which made him slightly weaker, just enough for the Hero of Tython to kill him again on Dromund Kaas. That made him lose more power (because he possessed this body for much longer than that Voss), and Vitiate tried to find a new host and regain his power (either by Revan reviving him or consuming all life on Ziost). His attempts were not successful, so he retreated to Zakuul.
That would explain why after being 'killed' yet again on Zakuul (thus losing two of his main hosts) Valkorion wasn't powerful enough to possess the Outlander's mind (regardless of their class). He was in a pretty vulnerable position, so he came up with a plan. We'll get to it. For now, Valkorion understands that if the Outlander dies, he'll be even weaker and probably won't be able to get a new host, so he protects the Outlander while pushing them to use his power.
Every time the Outlander agrees to do so gives Valkorion more control over their body, and even if they never agree, the bond grows stronger as time passes, it's just faster when Outlander uses his power. Eventually it would be just strong enough for Valkorion to use the main character's body without their permission (like in chapter 16). But he's still not powerful enough to break their mind, so he goes to the next part of the plan.
Valkorion manipulated the main character into killing Vaylin (and Arcann, if applicable) because he needed to consume her power to destroy Outlander's mind (which is what happens in chapter 9). But he made a couple mistakes in doing so. First, he underestimated how smart Commander is, and how the bond allowed them to take his form to survive. Second, by consuming Vaylin's spirit, Valkorion gained not just her strength, but also her weakness, which is the conditioning.
But wait, didn't Vaylin free herself from it? Sort of. I saw a suggestion from another player that Vaylin didn't get rid of conditioning itself, but rather the lever that triggers it. It's possible because the process on Nathema didn't exactly according to the plan. And because of that, Valkorion also gained her conditioning after consuming her spirit.
So, what does that mean? What does it do? Well, I think that when the key phrase is said in presence of Vaylin, she temporarily loses her connection to the Force (or it becomes so weak that she can't use it), thus isn't a threat. And the same happens to Valkorion when the main character attempts to use it on him in KotET chapter 9, at least for long enough for the Outlander to kill him. This way the victory isn't dependent on one's power in the Force, and it fits a non Force sensitive Commander as well.
What about the holocron? I explain this as it only binds, commands and releases spirits, as we see with lord Dramath. It's not the key to Valkorion's destruction, but it is still important because it is used to free Vaylin's spirit from Valkorion after her death (and Arcann's, if applicable), which gives Outlander a potential powerful ally.
[Just a little addition that has very little to do with my explanation, but wanted to mention - in the throne room, when Valkorion breaks Outlander's mind, he takes over the body and attacks your companions. They hold off long enough for Commander to put their mind back, and at that moment Valky loses control, and the body is unconscious.]
So, to sum it up:
Valkorion is weaker after being killed on Voss, Dromund Kaas and Zakuul, hence why the Outlander can resist him, regardless of theirconnection to the Force;
the holocron found on Nathema can bind, command and release spirits, which allows Outlander to free Vaylin (and Arcann, if applicable) from Valkorion;
the bond formed between Valkorion and Commander allowed the latter to survive after having their mind destroyed;
Vaylin didn't completely get rid of the conditioning on Nathema because the process didn't go as it should've, it just removed the trigger;
by consuming Vaylin's spirit Valkorion gained both her strength and her weakness - her conditioning, that's why it worked on him, and it temporarily weakened his connection to the Force.
I know this isn't perfect, there are probably plot holes that I haven't noticed or poorly explained, but I like it much more. Why do I even bother with this explanation?
I just love doing mental gymnastics around KotFE-ET, and this particular part was difficult yet entertaining to figure out.
But honestly, probably most important reason is that it works for every class (so even non Force-users are fitting here) because strength in the Force is not the key. Valkorion underestimated how observant and clever Outlander is, and I think it works better for their characters.

Chapter 3 Snippet
“What time is it?” Aketho asked, drawing Theron’s attention away from his thoughts.
The human checked the time with his implants again. “Quarter past seven,” he replied.
“Hmm, Lana never gave a time, but I suspect we need to get up and moving,” the younger spy mused, looking back at him, “I don’t know about you, but I’d rather not find out if Lana would hunt us down and drag us back to the safehouse naked if we don’t show up well before noon.”
Theron snorted and sat up as well, sheets pooling around his waist. “She would do that, wouldn’t she?”
“More than likely,” Aketho chuckled, scooting toward the edge of the bed. He motioned toward the bathroom. “If you want to take a shower first, I can start the caf and make both of us a quick breakfast.”
“Mmm, sounds like a plan,” Theron said, stretching and rolling his neck. “Although I will admit I thought you’d have offered to share the shower,” he added as an off-handed comment, not really thinking the other man would take it seriously.
He was wrong.
“Now there’s a wonderful idea,” Aketho purred, voice going straight to sultry as he leaned into Theron’s personal space with a wicked grin, “I wouldn’t be opposed if you aren’t.”
Theron was very proud of himself for not sputtering like a fool--although he couldn’t stop the blush even if he tried. Instead of replying verbally, he pulled in the cipher for a kiss, gently parting his lips with his tongue to plunder his mouth. The younger man moaned and leaned in further, fingers going for Theron’s hair again--fuck he loved the feeling of those cool fingers against his scalp. He nipped Aketho’s lower lips lightly before breaking the kiss.
“Start the caf, and I’ll start the shower,” he murmured, brushing back Aketho’s hair.
“Deal,” Aketho said softly, planting another kiss before slipping out of the bed. He headed out of the bedroom, still naked as the day he was born.
Theron couldn’t help but feel a bit amused and impressed by the younger man’s confidence, he’d have thrown on a pair of sweats or even briefs before walking out into the living area…but then again, if he looked as good as Aketho did, he'd have the confidence to run around his apartment naked too. He chuckled and shook his head as he stood, making his way into the bathroom. Theron punched in a reasonable temperature for the water and started the shower, leaning against the glass door as he waited for it to heat up.
Closing his eyes he breathed in deep before letting it out slowly. Despite getting the eight hours of sleep he still somehow felt mentally exhausted and drained. Stars, what Theron would give for an entire week off, away from all the spy work and people. Just him, an isolated cabin in a forest somewhere, and a really good book he could curl up with. He could already picture it in his head. A warm fire, a cozy couch, and Aketho snuggled up in his arms with said book open. His daydream came to a screeching halt as he felt his face flush. He’d ask himself where that image came from, but it wasn’t like he didn’t already know. Theron was well aware he liked the Aketho, wanted to spend more time with him, get to know him better, make him smile and hear him laugh…Fuck. Maybe ‘falling hard’ was an understatement regarding how he really felt about his fellow spy. Or perhaps he should say he’s ‘fallen hard’ for him instead of ‘falling.’...
Theron sighed and lightly knocked his head against the glass door. Now really wasn’t the time to be dwelling on this. While last night--and more than likely this morning--was a nice distraction, they still had a mission to do…
-----------------------------------------------------
A longer snippet this time. I keep trying to show that they have feelings for each other but refuse to fully acknowledge them. I don't know if I'm hammering it in too hard. -sigh- I just want to get to the KotFE part where I have them confess. ;-; (and maybe the after Ziost part when they spend a week in Aketho's safehouse...)

Some more about the Empire! More Sith culture! Some Sith philosophy!
So have to start this out by saying I don't agree with a lot of the writeups about the Empire not being as bad as it seems, it's worse. Maybe I'm just more sensitive to the subject, but beyond the cartoonishly evil moments, it is smarter and crueler than that as well.
The Empire is a massive machine that has worked thus far because it grew bloated in isolation while the Republic thrived. Even that kind of beginning will show just how the emergence back into the galaxy at whole should frame a lot of perspectives. It was and continues to be an insular society that prides itself on the ubiquitous homogeneity of who is given power. (Apparently both the Mirialan and Cathar home planets are a part of the Empire, you don't see a lot of them in DK do you?)
So, given this frame of mind! And the fact that it is Dromund Kaas is the capital planet of the Empire, not Ziost, I think she does feel ostracized from the start of her exile (around 13 ish years old), by being from Ziost which has more of the cultural heritage of the Sith Empire from ancient times that was then reclaimed. Further, it had New Adasta, which was the gateway to the Empire as well as where you go to trade with the Empire. So as she grows up, she already had more access to cultural history, that does not exist in DK outside of stories and the ability to interact with other people in this very tailored exposure to the rest of the galaxy, that doesn't exist in DK.
She's spent most of her life angry and frustrated at the Empire due to the restraints placed upon her by Sith and Imperial society in Dromund Kaas versus Ziost given, in some way, Ziost had to give the facsimile of being open to the rest of the galaxy, and could not be as earnest in its invidiousness as it is in DK.
So given this emphasis on actual Imperial history and ancient Sith artifacts, teachings, etc. She felt a connection to that aspect of the Empire more than anything. It's why she had her tattoos done in traditional way, scarification, venom, and all!!!
So then with that gone, so too was so much of the history and left her once again kind of listless and apart from DK. Thankfully hatred, rage, and spite are typical of Sith, because one of her biggest complications now is, how can she have a home -- or save her home!!! -- when she feels once more separated from what is forced to be her home again. It's a complicated relationship where she hates what the Emperor did to her home and by extension hates the Empire for essentially letting it happen, hates most of the people in charge of the Empire still, but is loyal enough to it to want to try and make it better. She has no home but her family, her friends, and the amorphous idea of the Empire that will be undone if the Republic wins.
Also I've always liked how she's played with the Sith Code. Ideally it results in freedom and there are understandably many interpretations on how to achieve freedom through power beyond the obvious one. I enjoy an interpretation that is more personal to the Sith, gaining a kind of self assurance and power and confidence in oneself will set them free. And to a point it does! Imagine living without such self doubt! She subscribes to it a bit as well as how it plays into how the Empire is a "meritocracy". She uses assets more than she destroys them, she's converted Jedi rather than killing them, and all of it still add to her power which leads more often than not, to victory. And at least by now she has proof of concept! Through those victories she's broken some of the chains that the most hated parts of the Empire had kept her down with.
But some chains just aren't broken like that :)
Also thought of having her apprentice be a fallen Jedi but honestly what Sith in their right mind wants a teenager (or anyone tbh) around who's planning on killing them?
tiresome!!!!!!!!
so she's trained some of her friends and colleague's apprentices
and her first real apprentice is her dottir Cosima!

Sorry if this sounds weird, but I hope it makes sense: Day, Formal, Wardrobe for Imp Leo vs Pub Leo
I GOT CHU, I GOT CHU! I think, at least, so let me take a swing at this. I am. so sorry it's taking me 800 years to get through everything. This semester be kickin' my butt, but I have been sitting on so many Leo questions for so long. Come back into the light, my favorite little smuggling goblin child...
[character design oc asks]
DAY - What does your OC wear on a normal day? Why do they default to those clothes? Do they wear similar things, or do they change it up?
I think even in just casual wear, Leo felt a lot of pressure from particularly their parents growing up about what kind of image they were putting out as a family to the rest of Imperial society. That probably meant still a fair bit of neutral colors - gotta love those Imperial grays. And probably a lot more long sleeved shirts, partially because of the cold periods on Ziost, but also because it means Leo could fidget with the ends of his sleeves. Things were likely a bit more properly fitted in contrast to now that he's defected and running his own life (not... always well, but... running!), he definitely prefers things that are maybe a size too big. He wants to be comfortable. I could totally see him as a band tee kind of kid. Assorted graphical t-shirts for the win.
Also, not exactly a part of any of this set, but... I do imagine he was also a lot neater with how he wore his hair when still Imperial, at least around family. If only because Vivienne and their mother probably fussed over him almost obsessively before letting him out anywhere and he grew tired of hearing about it all the time. He's picked up the habit since defecting (unintentionally) of keeping a stock of hair ties around his wrist. Not actively because he needs to use three at a time, but because he habitually abandons them on any flat surface when he lets his hair down and then forgets about them, so he ends up collecting them as he finds them in an effort to try not to forget them again.
FORMAL - What's your OC's formal look? Do they like dressing up? Do they have different looks for different occasions?
Leo would... actually cringe if you ever suggested him wear a suit ever again. As much as I'd love to see him in maybe a dark blue vest or something at least because it'd probably look very nice with his eyes, I think some kind of suit look tended to be the default to please the family. Or at least a sort of... business, fitted top and... honestly probably a bow tie. Can't see this man in the long neck tie to save my life. He probably knows how to do one, but blood of the Emperor would it kill his soul to wear one kdanflsadfnlsfd.
He has very little in formal wear these days. He's... glaringly lacked the need to since his defection and he's quite happy to keep it that way. You'd literally make him pout like a petulant teenager if you asked him to dress up. He hates it. (Because it is so buried in ties to the expectations his father had of him to live up to the family name and their standards and impressions of what he should do; a lot of it is from his father's expectations, but his mother and older sister contributed a fair bit, too.)
I'm so sorry to Dash that Leo still preens over Dash like... Leo could have bangs falling in his eyes while he's trying to perfectly part Dash's hair and just shrug off this glaring hypocrisy. Which is... something in there about Leo's perception of himself being not all that great (and thus having a bit of a hard time necessarily seeing whatever Dash might see in him as far as positive and admirable qualities) because the Family Disappointment syndrome, but that's.... a whole other thing to unpack dfkladsnfls.
WARDROBE - How big is your character's wardrobe? Do they wear things threadbare, or can they afford new clothes often? Are they any good at mending and repairing their own clothing?
Listen. Leo probably has a selection of like five shirts that he loves to bits and, no, mending garments is not one of his little skills. He will wear things down and he'd also probably be the type to wear the same thing for several days straight because he got behind on laundry or just... because he was comfortable and not particularly seeing people. He still might honestly try even if neither of those things are exactly true. I don't think he... likes the idea of fashion shopping in general, given the connotations for him. And, again, for as much as he can preen about others, he's... not particularly always on top of his own appearances. He's... shit at taking his own advice, frankly. Including the bit that the way you dress yourself can affect how you think and feel about yourself. It's not necessarily about affording things, he just... has mixed feelings about the shopping bit. Sometimes it is liberating to add more one-size-too-large graphic prints to his collection by the handfuls and others the simple idea of having to replenish and update the wardrobe seems like the most insurmountable, horrible, terrible task you could ever ask him to do. How could you do this to him.

things I'm thinking about:
Nat forgiving Mai and it not even taking that much. Mai steps back into her life without warning and as Nat is reintroduced to the world she once lived in, she realizes she would have left anyway. She wasn't meant to be a Jedi. Her leaving just happened in the most painful way possible, but it wasn't really Mai's fault. She tells Mai all of this and the relief is palpable. They say goodbye before Ziost and they promise to talk about the next step. They have time now.
Mai slowly regaining the warm side of her as she teaches Nuri and reunites with Nat. She smiles more, she laughs easily and she playfully shoots knowing looks at Nuri during boring meetings. The weight she carried for years slowly leaves her and by the end of her life, she's young again and unburdened by everything, except for the love she holds for her family.
Mai and Nat hair symbolism!!! At the start, Nat wears her long hair down. It's heavy and obscures her face. Mai wears her hair up and too tight. Then, by Ziost, Nat is pinning her hair up, very gently, pulling it into a loose bun at the nape of her neck, revealing her face, softening her features. Mirroring that, Mai lets her hair down, pulls it into half-up, half-downs, into braids, lets the strands curl over her cheekbones. And after Mai's death, Nat cuts off her hair, just below her chin. Sometimes, she weaves little braids through it, when Mai's memory is at the forefront of her mind.

What is Corrian’s relationship like with Koth?
Corrain's relationship with Koth is....tense, especially at first. Because while on one hand he's grateful to Koth for risking his life to help Lana rescue him from being Cor-bonite (i'm so sorry XD) - and doubly grateful to Koth for helping Lana care for him after the carbonite poisoning took it's toll (Corrain reacts the cure badly and ends up pretty sick for a few days while it slowly works its way out of his system) - he's REALLY not fond of Koth implying that Valkorion was. a good guy, in any way. So he's...civil, but it's very strained.
This comes to a head when the Scions lure Corrain and Senya into their little test to try and see why they can't foretell Corrain's future, and it's revealed that he's got Valkorion in his head. Both Koth and Senya are- excited by this, they think it's a *good* thing, and Corrain has suffered SO much at Vitiate's hands. He's seen first-hand how this man has destroyed the galaxy for his own gain, (Uphrades, Ziost) seen how Zakuul's prosperity was built on Valkorion funneling shit away from the Sith - and he snaps.
And it's not like- he just loses his temper. Because he does - but by this point in the plot he's strong enough in the Force that when he loses his temper he also loses grip on the Force, and he accidentally drags everyone present into an extremely vivid hallucination of a series of moments from his past - his torment on the Fortress, Uphrades burning, Ziost's death and Vitiate taunting him there, Orgus's death and the murder of his entire creche, that sort of thing. It's kind of a forced reverse-psychometry, and he's not in control of it. (This is where Valkorion has the opportunity to snatch a few of Corrain's memories as well, and from the memories of Corrain's mother, he realizes that Corrain is his son)
Lana has to calm Corrain down to get the whirlwind hallucinations to stop, he's managed to accidentally do some structural damage, Koth and Senya are both in utter shock both at Corrain's raw strength in the Force and the scale of devastation that Valkorion/Vitiate was able to invoke upon the galaxy - Koth doesn't say shit about Valkorion being good for Zakuul after this. Neither does Senya. Neither of them are willing to risk that kind of wrath again.
After this incident, Corrain and Koth get on alright. They're not close, but they're not necessarily antagonistic either, and Koth respects Corrain's dedication to trying to preserve Zakuul as well as he can. And they kind of maintain that distant-colleagues attitude for their entire 'partnership'
Thank you for the ask!!! :DDDD

“Our of habit” from the kiss prompts for any of your swtor pairings?
Thank you for the excuse to write RotE-KotFE interim Keme/Jorgan :D
---
Aric was already up when Keme rolled out of bed. And judging by the coolness of the sheets, had been for a while. Their schedules were usually more in sync, but she'd been up a few extra hours last night.
Keme shook herself awake more as she stretched, the movement making the too-big t-shirt bunch on her shoulders. She ran a hand through her hair as she headed for the kitchen. She needed food. And caf. Not necessarily in that order.
Aric met her in the kitchen entryway with a mug in hand. "Heard you coming," he said, handing her the caf and pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "Late night?"
Even half asleep, long-formed ritual had her leaning into the kiss as she hummed confirmation around her first sip. "Beniko passed along some more leads on where Vitiate might've got to. I wanted to at least skim 'em in case any were time sensitive." She wrinkled her nose as the second sip of caf had her more awake. "Sorry if I woke you."
She probably had. SpecForce careers weren't known for making people heavy sleepers.
"Don't worry about it," he said. "Anything promising in those leads?"
Keme sighed and scrubbed at her eyes with the heel of her free hand, as if she could removed the memory of Ziost's bleached-grey landscape from her mind. "One or two with a slim chance, and Theron's running them down, but my gut says they're not gonna go anywhere. It's like he vanished." She leaned her head against his chest. "I hate this, Aric. Knowing he's out there, that there's a threat that needs dealing with ASAP, but not where to find it."
"Hey." He pulled her into a hug, careful to give time so she could hold the mug out to one side. "We'll find him. Evil like that can't stay hidden for long. And then we'll deal with him."
She snorted, muffled against his shirt. "Just like that? The Sith Emperor?"
"Just like that." Aric rubbed her back, the soft weight of his chin atop her head grounding her. "This is you we're talking about, Keme."
Keme snaked a hand up to cup the back of his neck as she tipped her head so she could meet his eyes. "And I've got you watching my back, so we're basically unstoppable."
He chuckled and leaned down to rest his forehead on hers "Exactly. So enjoy the day off." He stole a kiss. "Stars know when we'll get another."
She snorted as she stepped back, setting her mug on the counter so she could stretch again. "I'm half expecting this one to get interrupted..."
Aric watched her with a small smile before commenting dryly, "I think I know the answer to this, but what're the odds of me getting that shirt back?"
Keme grinned. She'd been wondering if he'd say anything. "You have other shirts," she said coyly. "And it's comfy, smells like you, and I think I pull it off better."
"So pretty low, then." He met her smirk with one of his own. "Not that I'm gonna argue that last point."
"Not even a little?" she teased, letting a significant look linger and trail along his arms.
"No contest." The words hovered before a purr and a growl as he moved into her space again with a single stride and pulled her close.
Keme was already rocking up on the balls of her feet to meet him as Aric kissed her deeply. His fingers slid into her hair as hers clenched in his t-shirt, just slipping under the edge to graze his stomach.
Their comms trilled an alert summoning them to the Senate tower and they broke apart with matching growls of frustrations.
"Guess I jinxed us," Keme grumbled, resting her forehead against his jaw as they both caught their breath. Figures. Can't we have one kriffing day?!
"You can make it up to me later." Aric kissed her temple before reluctantly easing back.
"And then some," Keme promised with a wink. "Since you're, ah, more put together, mind grabbing somethin' for us to eat while I get dressed? Otherwise my stomach might drowned out whatever they wanna talk to us about"
"Sure thing, boss."
There was a glint in his eyes that almost made Keme say screw the alert, but she shook it off with an effort and went to get dressed.
Aric handed her food when she reemerged, smirking at the hint of his shirt still peeking from under her uniform jacket. "Ready to go see what new crisis demands our attention, Major?"
She took the food, passing him his jacket in trade, and grinned back. "Long as I have you with me, Captain."
He leaned into the kiss she brushed against his jaw. "Always."
And knowing he meant it was almost enough to keep her in a good mood despite the lost day off. She watched him slip on the uniform jacket, hiding those arms from view with a pang of regret and irritation.
Almost.
Hopefully they'd have time for that making it up to him sooner rather than later.

What would you recommend to someone thinking about starting with swtor in this day and age?
Huh that's actually a really good question, and it probably doesn't help that I've not been active for the last two years (they made some fairly substantial gameplay changes to the combat that I didn't like the sound of on paper, I have no personal experience with how it's played out and whether folks think it worked out well in the long term)
I'll put this under a cut to spare people's dashes, and if any friends have their own recommendations based on current gameplay and gearing PLEASE feel free to chip in:
The game has free to play options, and in theory it's entirely possible to play up to the fourth (fifth?) expansion without paying a cent. I don't necessarily think it's particularly as fun as it could be on F2P, because obviously they make things just that little bit more frustrating to try and coax you into spending money, but it's not bad. Just a little slower to progress. And really, if you're not sure if you want to invest in the game (time or money wise), downloading the F2P is a good trial move, because the base game is hands down superior to most of the expansions
There are 8 possible origin stories to choose from - four Republic aligned, and four Imperial aligned. Despite stylistically being the same 4 classes, the story telling has always been the strength of the game and the 8 original classes are all fantastic in their own ways. Admittedly, ask 8 people what they think the best or worse class story is and you'll get 8 different answers. I personally rank the Smuggler (a Han Solo-esqye self insert) as my least favourite, but I've got plenty of friends who think it's the best story. I would die for my Jedi Knight but I think the writing from the story is pretty outrageously bad in places. The Sith Warrior class story changed my life. So did the Imperial Agent, but again, I know people who think they're overrated. Just go with your heart and see what appeals to you when it introduces the class options
There are nine packs that I would consider expansions (more if you include mini gameplay expacs that introduced things like starfighter combat, they always have little brief story quests to explain their origin):
Rise of the Hutt Cartel (adds planet Makeb)
The Dread War (adds planet Oricon, technically a continuation of RotHC but different enough in scope that I would count it as separate)
Shadow of Revan (adds two planets, Rishi and Yavin 4)
Rise of the Emperor (adds planet Ziost, technically a continuation of SoR like TDW was for RotHC)
Knights of the Fallen Empire
Knights of the Eternal Throne
Fractured Alliances (technically a continuation of the last two, but adds Iokath as a playable area)
Onslaught (adds three planets Ossus, Onderon, Mek'Sha)
Legacy of the Sith (have not played so not sure!)
KotFE and KotET moved away from planetary expansions and did chaptered missions, so you couldn't visit the areas of the story unless you replayed the chapter, which was a pain if you enjoyed just running around exploring. Technically we got new planets Zakuul, Odessen and Iokath in those expansions, and Iokath did eventually introduce daily missions and explorable areas, but it wasn't the most popular addition to the canon
I personally enjoy KotFE and KotET because of the amount of time I invested in telling my character's stories in that time period, but I think that Shadow of Revan/Rise of the Emperor had the more compelling storytelling and gameplay. Rishi is for sure my favourite planet in the game, although Onderon comes close and I'm sure Zakuul would've won if we got more ability to just run around and explore
Basic gameplay is pretty straight forward if you've ever played an RPG or MMO before. It's entirely possible to play the vanilla stories without ever needing to play any group content, and you can just treat it like a solo player game with some extra fidgety NPCs in the background of your scenes and pretend they aren't other players. The group content - flashpoints (4 players) and operations (8 or 16 players)- are for the most part pretty great, and a lot of their stories bring more clarity to the main game. As the game gets into the expansions, they start introducing solo player flashpoints which then become the chaptered mission when you get to KotFE.
You also get access to companions right from your first planet, which is great! Every class starts with 5 companions, and that number grows as you get into the expansions. Some of the companions can be romanced, although unfortunately everyone was straight-gated up until Shadow of Revan. After that, earlier companions have occasionally been rewritten to be available to all genders, but not all of them which is frustrating at times. The relationships you build with the companions - whether it's romance or friendship or intense loathing - is genuinely such a great feature of the game, and it's something the later expansions have suffered from, not having your core team around you anymore.
SPEAKING OF, I WILL WARN YOU UP FRONT, SHAE IS NOT A ROMANCE OPTION :P I just don't happen to believe in being restricted to canon when it comes to these sorts of things. She's an NPC, and you can flirt with her now and then in the later expacs, but she's not smoochable.
I can't comment on the current combat system, or the current gearing system, as I've been out of active play for the last few years (ESO got me good) but I hear they've worked out some of the kinks from the revamp. I wasn't overly thrilled with it, as I've played fairly consistently since launch and this was going to be about the fifth complete overhaul of the combat and gearing since launch and after going to the trouble of getting all your characters the best gear multiple times only to be told you have to start from scratch AGAIN wears a little thin after awhile. But! If you're not planning on hardcore raiding, gearing changes shouldn't be that much of an issue
The housing system is fun but there's no real way to decorate well without pumping a lot of your own money into the game which is shitty. I've seen the light in ESO's crafting and being able to craft my own furniture is game-changing
Space combat is a nightmare. My spatial awareness becomes non-existent once I have to steer in a three dimensional space. I have one friend who loves it and used to play constantly but I couldn't ever get used to it
PVP is eh. I've had more fun in PVP in other games, but it's not bad.
The crafting system is fun, but unless you're making your own healing packs or dyes, its not really worth much. Sending your companions off on crafting missions can be fun though, as they come with teensy little snippets of lore and some of them are funny or intriguing. It can get expensive real fast though
The only thing I would caution against is that they've made some fairly unpopular changes just in the last month regarding the cost of quick travel to try and rein in the bloated in-game economy and it seems to have been implemented poorly and unfairly effects low to mid tier players as opposed to the high end players
If you have any questions after all of that, let me know! AND GOOD LUCK!!!

Hey look at me posting fic again?? I started writing this years ago, and hopefully I will finish it?? Anyway, it's a fic about Ziost, and what happens after. Spoiler: it will be domesticity on Tython with LOTS OF ANGST. And maybe some smut, I haven't decided yet.
Theron/Jas (Jedi Knight), currently rated T, but knowing me it will probably change. 😏 And it's a WIP so I guess dive in at your own peril.
It feels good to write and share again. :) I have some Damerey in the pipeline too... but that I do think I want to finish before I toss it out there. 😀

SWTOR and Force Empathy, Revisited
Spoilers for SWTOR content up to and including Secrets of the Enclave (6.3).
So I hypothesized before about what is going on with the comments from the PC and the NPCs in Secrets of the Enclave, alluding to the fact that the PC isn't able to feel things around them like Rivix, Krovos or Aryn Leneer. After playing through with a Jedi Consular, I really feel that the hypothesis that the PC can block what is around them is fair. I don't think i t's going to be a deficit - I think it's going to be one explanation as to why the Commander is so exceptionally dangerous.
I think that while Force Empathy can be a special trait, completely concealing one's emotions/cutting oneself off from sensing things in the Force can also be a talent. I think it's one that can be exhibited by non-Force sensitives too - Theron is not Force sensitive, but his mind cannot be read by Lana, the Revanites OR the Order of Zildrog. Lana out and out says his mind cannot be read. I think it's a two way street - the PC blocks both incoming and outgoing traffic, so to speak. Because it's coming up that other characters cannot sense the Commander's presence or read their thoughts/emotions. It would also completely explain why the PC is so overpowered a lot of the time, even against Force sensitives. Their actions and intentions can't necessarily be read. Two more things have jumped out at me. Spoilers for SWTOR content up to and including Secrets of the Enclave (6.3). In this scene after Secrets of the Enclave, the Commander stands in the doorway listening to Rivix's conversation with Acina/Vowrawn. When they make their presence known, Rivix jumps and is visibly frightened. Darth Rivix cannot sense the Commander standing in the doorway. He also appears afraid of the Commander, but let's leave that for a second. Let's focus on the fact that Rivix, who was all "I sense all this in the Dantooine Enclave, I'm surprised you don't" cannot sense the Commander, who appears to be standing about 6 feet away from him.
Tumblr media
Darth Rivix: Oh, my apologies! The briefing doesn't start for a few more minutes. I thought... On Iokath during KOTET, Lana can only feel the Commander is alive if she's romancing them. She's also especially thrilled about it. That would imply, in addition to the Force bond that has been mentioned in the canon, that the guard is down only because the Commander is close to her.
Tumblr media
Lana Beniko: I knew you were alive. I felt it. Also: 1. The Sith Warrior can successfully lie to Darth Baras from the time they are an acolyte. When Baras sends you to kill Tremel, if you refuse, there's never an indication Baras ever finds out until the end of the class story, when Tremel appears again. The same is true for Rathari on Nar Shaddaa. 2. The Sith Warrior can also apparently mask the fact that they live after the Quesh betrayal, until someone (likely Quinn or the Entity) tips Baras off. 3. The Sith Warrior can also stand right behind Baras when he's talking with Darth Vengean, without even being noticed. 4. The Sith Inquisitor can also completely conceal their thoughts from their mentor. Zash doesn't know about the Inquisitor's relationship to Lord Kallig unless the SI tells them; she also doesn't know how the Inquisitor recovers that holocron on Korriban unless the SI chooses to chare. 5. The Sith Warrior can completely hide from Darth Ekkage in the same room. 6. Valkorion is in the Commander's mind but isn't able to see what they did on Nathema or if they spoke to Lord Dramath or picked up the holocron. He later asks directly about that twice and can't see beyond what the PC tells him. 7. All eight classes can resist the Dread Masters on Oricon. 8. All eight classes can resist Vitiate on Ziost. 9. In KOTFE/KOTET, Valkorion is in the Commander's mind, but only has control over the Commander if he is directly summoned and given permission; or if the Commander is incapacitated at that moment. 10. In the Dark Temple on Dromund Kaas, there are three separate side quests where all four Imperial classes are said to be "immune" or clearly not feeling at all influenced by the spirits in the Temple. They also can clearly see when others are possessed.
Tumblr media
Aneryah: No. Whatever seems to be...distracted, now. I was able to escape, and you seem immune. 11. For the saboteurs in the audience, it's always seemed foolish that the factions would trust the PC in spite of everything. Only Malgus and the Jedi at the end of Echoes seem to have suspicion. Everyone else just seems to assume the PC is on the up and up with them. But if they can completely conceal their thoughts and motives it makes much more sense.

I've been thinking about the future of my Alliance again
I think I'm gonna have it rediscovered a little differently than I'd originally planned
Instead of a lost merchant ship just happening to stumble upon it
Atten and Araa sent up a series of clues. It fits their Need To Be Dramatic personalities they got from their mother, but it also leaves the galaxy at large slowly able to find answers to their questions. Names long forgotten finally have faces to them, and the holos even answer some basic questions
The "clues" are a series of holos, set up similarly to holocrons but obviously lacking the Force aspect. These holos are in a hibernation sort of state, and when the first one is triggered it scans datawaves. If it finds no war-like activities in its system for the last decade, then it activates
The first holo? Found at the Barsen'thor's - Synnda's - tomb. Synnda himself gives the clue in his pre-recorded message, and he gives the history of the Jedi of his time, what his title means
Synnda's clues lead to the dilapidated base that's rumored to have been Alliance HQ thousands of years ago, where Qizulth's holo can be found hidden in the wall of the research center. He talks about Sith philosophy, and the importance of preserving history
His clue leads into the Odessen wilderness, where Varrich's holo lay built into his headstone - a false headstone, as no body is found in the ground beneath, for he made it to see the Alliance's new home. He talks about how war can destroy civilizations, and break even the strongest of men. His holo is the first good look at why the Alliance left the known galaxy
The clues go on, from Lana's on Ziost, to Theron's in a long-forgotten SIS compound in Coruscant's undercity, and then...
The clues stop.
They would have led to Xaerez's holo next, but... well. His holo had been hidden on his estate.
His Alderaanian estate.
His holo was lost with the planet decades before
The galaxy at large laments that they'll never find the last of the clues, as the next holo can't activate until the one before it has. And that's assuming the next can even be found without Xaerez's clue
And then.... on an open channel, nearly a decade after the last known holo was found, broadcasts the next clue
The estate had been robbed almost a century before Alderaan's destruction. The holo ended up in a private collection, and the collector it ended up with accidentally activated it without knowing what it would do
Xaerez's is short and simple, warning others to stay away from the life of a spy, he doesn't answer anything like the holos before him. As soon as he gives his clue, his holo turns off, and unlike the others it won't turn back on. He doesn't even intruduce himself
His clue leads to Rishi, to a long-abandoned beachside home. With the remains of an ancient cybernetic Rancor, is the final holo
Commander Terrin's. The first Alliance Commander. Hers is more robotic, clearly not a recording and instead put together with a computer
Her message is a cold threat to anyone who would harm the new Alliance. And with it, a phrase... and coordinates
Coordinates that lead deep into uncharted space
The race is on
Spacers, merchants, adventurers - many people try to find the planet.
Few survive
None come back with the news everyone waits for
Two decades pass since the final holo's discovery
And a group of spacers, with a Force-sensitive pilot being the only way they survive the dangerous and unknown space, find the new world. Odessa
They're met with distrust, until....
"We were sent," says the Bothan. His fur is ruffled with unease. "By 'Commander Terrin.'"
The leader - Consul Tel'arra, a Twi'lek hybrid - gestures for her people to lower their weapons. The silence between the spacers, and lost civilization now re-found, hangs heavy in the air
The pilot, Mirialan, steps up to the Bothan's side. "We....stand for you," he says, echoing the holo word-for-word. "The galaxy beyond welcomes you home."
Silence
Studious stares
Then,
"...Then we stand with you."

2, 3, 4, 5, 18 (if your OC was an NPC) for Alucren (and free pass to talk about other OCs if you want :D)
crawls out of the abyss. I said one day, one day I'll work through some of my backlog, slowly. so. I'm gonna finally attempt to wrestle with this one, lol.
[oc as nps]

hands u new alucren screenshot as collateral for takin so heckin' long kladnflkadsfl
2) Would they be a class specific character? & 3) When would you recruit them?
Stabbing at both of these because I think the answer feels cleanest when I tackle it together. For all the time I've left this stewing at the back of my brain, I have yet, at least, to come up with an idea that gave me a strong opinion on class specific, but I do figure Alucren for being the type to only hang around fellow Imperials in the long-term. And that... inclines me towards saying he's a latecomer as far as an NPC, particularly a recruitable one.
And to take the excuse to ramble a bit about characters for that (and we'll go ahead and use that as a cut queue, too):
He's... stubborn, is the simplest way to say it. Raised in the Imperial system and deeply strict about his adherence to it, to go a bit further into it. And it's really not until Fallen Empire and Eternal Throne, where the entire order of the galaxy is sort of challenged by the presence of Zakuul as a major third power, that Alucren really... isn't given any other option but to face his own music and reflection in the mirror and actually... do a bit of reflection and reckoning with it. It's a little a lot maybe to dig into without also digging out a pegboard and some string to explain different versions of events with other ocs and characters and all that to explain, but the short version is, essentially, even though Alucren ultimately gets to a place where he's more comfortable in a scenario like the Alliance and willing to have those sort of cross-faction relationships despite differences in opinion and all that, it requires... a lot of self-realization first that Alucren's... really slow with and frankly pretty uncertain about, which I think I'm gonna pick back up on again for 18, so stay tuned, but.
Again, attempt to do a long thing short, he comes around a bit better to change, but it doesn't change his sense of place. His home is the Empire, and Alucren's core values... really boil down to family, and his concept of duty and honor in... sometimes a bit of a nebulous, conflicting order despite his performances and gnashing teeth to the contrary and that... means he won't leave. Any partnership sort of outside of that typical binary isn't meant to be long-term to him. He's... really not sure how to mentally explain it to himself, let alone justify prioritizing it over what he's built his life on, quite frankly, but don't tell him I told you.
4) Where would you recruit them from? & 5) What would their recruitment mission be?
Okay, so this part might have been the one that gave me the most trouble from this list (probably because it's hard for me to separate them, again >.> lol). I think the most interesting options for his recruitment would probably involve a few creative liberties with how things go in-game. Not to get too double-dipping ahead of myself, but his role is... a little difficult to define because he's not... in one that particularly. fits him. Just because he served as a Cipher doesn't mean he was ever an ideal fit for the role. But it was where he was needed - at least to be a body in a role, to fill a gap or what have you, and Alucren's raising and training requires of him to serve where he is needed by his Empire.
It's fairly likely he arguably remained in some sort of capacity with Sith Intelligence through its incarnations over the events of Ziost and into the events of KOTXX, so one of my thoughts as far as earliest appearance was maybe on Iokath as far as substantial interactions go, but... now that I've mentioned Ziost, it's possible he could've made at least a brief appearance or mention as one of the holdover assets from Imperial Intelligence. I do think he spent probably a fair amount of time working closer to home, so to speak, in between vanilla and more recent content, left to his own devices though...
Anyway, the other consideration that comes to mind is something a lot more recent - maybe tied somehow into events with Elom and Legacy of the Sith. I do think Alucren's... let's say... brand of loyalty was arguably liable to get him into something like hot water with one Sith lord or another sooner or later even if we take out the elements of him that have become so interesting to contemplate when he's around the events of Cipher Nine and Darth Jadus, so it's possible that kind of experience or that kind of relationship and owed loyalties would put him in play as an agent potentially acting on the behalf of a specific benefactor maybe even in addition to his interests as a loyal Imperial operative. His previous roles with more diplomatic and expansion roles prior to his experience as a Cipher may actually make him quite interesting to introduce as an agent for Darth Xarion's interest in the Alliance. As for the nature of that interest, is he possibly there to investigate for anyone suspiciously against the Empire's interests..? Maybe so. Or if the Commander is in more full cooperation with the Empire, he is surely there to simply facilitate a better relationship between merging parties. And help with security risks.
Certainly. Right?
In either case, it's likely less that he has a specific mission which you have to recruit him in so much that he is... introduced during one of the group cutscenes and maybe has a one-on-one interaction with the Commander after where he explains more of his role and offers his services on behalf of his superiors. Think a bit more functionally sort of how Anri and Tau have been so far, though possibly as a bit more permanent resident of the Alliance base with a posting for this particular engagement.
18) If they are recruitable in vanilla story, where are they during KOTFE/KOTET? What are/were they doing?
So, I did say I would push off his involvement, but that doesn't mean I don't have thoughts about this, lol. Some of this comes up a bit in the piece I wrote for him and Taizi (blorbo from friend's brain @hyrohkaah fame) reuniting actually during KOTFE, but I also wanna steal the opportunity to speak a bit more generally about one of the, like, catnip pieces about Alucren, to me.
And it's that Alucren is... afraid. Despite appearances, despite the kind of proud stallion act about him, a lot of it is... uncertainties and fears. And one of the interesting contrasts between him and Tyr because I love making contrasts between them - it is how I started Alucren, after all. To take things that were so integral to Tyr and... wonder what kind of character I'd have if I flipped his core values.
So, Tyr is... Tyr is so fucking ride or die. To a godsdamned fault. Quite possibly to the detriment of his own health. You'll see it in his loyalties, his justifications, the way he wears his service with Imperial Intelligence still as a badge of honor because his loyalty was to people like Keeper and Shara. Tyr doesn't give up on them because he never feels they give up on him. When Tyr says, Imperial Intelligence never betrayed me. He believes it. In the ways that matter, he believes they haven't. Keeper didn't. Shara didn't. Ardun Kothe, even, he... doesn't hold a grudge with - hell, even respects, still - because of this kind of loyalty. And Tyr... doesn't exactly have a lot of people on that kind of list. He doesn't have a lot to lose, and what little he does have is worth giving everything, to him, to fight for. He's willing to burn himself at both ends for that, to keep deconstructing himself and bending his own boundaries so someone else doesn't have to. Tyr's grounded by people that are close to him, but he's also... an idealist. As much as he doesn't realize it. He's someone capable of striving for ideals.
And... the short way to sort of say of Alucren is that... that isn't... him. Ideals and big overarching pictures just don't have as much sway on him. I've already said he's loyal. Both of them have areas where they are stubbornly loyal. And Alucren and Tyr butt heads sometimes because those areas don't always overlap.
Alucren has three older sisters that were and are dearly important to him. He grew up very close with them. Family, as was already mentioned, right? And... he has a strong sense of duty. He has a strong sense of how he was raised, and what he should value based on that experience, that more fairly-off background with a successful Imperial lineage as his backing. Change is... a lot bigger to him. He's a lot more likely to balk at it. It's... intimidating. Alucren isn't... an agent of change, in that sense, where Tyr is. Tyr is... a lot more ready to jump in because Tyr doesn't have that sense of place to lose. Alucren still has an attachment to an identity that existed before his role as a Cipher. He's got things and people that he's... not ready to lose.
Which is all just... a lot of build up to say Alucren's not the first person that would've been looking for the Outlander. Even if they had been close. When the Empire, when his superiors, say they're dead, when the threat of Zakuul is already so close as to have been the attack on Korriban, that attacks on Dromund Kaas, the blockades, all the other tensions implied during the five year period the Outlander is in carbonite... Alucren goes back to Dromund Kaas. He goes back, at least on paper, to be closer with his sisters, to keep them safe. Because he has a duty or responsibility or however else he decides to dress it up on that particular day to protect the Empire, to protect home.
But it's also... because a lot is changing. Zakuul is... upending a lot of what he knew. A lot of that sense of place, a lot of that identity he clung to in his loyalties.
And it's not just "former" Republic personnel being involved that make him hesitate to join something like the Alliance. He very likely wouldn't join the Alliance at all unless someone he knew and cared for was there and had a strong enough conviction in its need to exist and its purpose to argue for him to join them. (Tyr, for example, to go back to the fic, really only gets him there because its Taizi. And Tyr very nearly doesn't manage it. Because Tyr and Alucren have different values and Tyr argues from his understanding of his own. But... for as much as Tyr and Alucren have going on as a pair directly, Tyr's... Tyr would have a hard time convincing him to show up, based on their own relationship. If that was all they working on, but I'm. getting off-topic.)
ANWAY. THAT is all just. a long-winded way to explain that he's back on Dromund Kaas during probably a fair portion of the five year gap and at least the early parts of KOTFE. He might have had some few assignments to take him out to investigate any Republic process during that time, but he asked in his reassignment to stay closer to be with his sisters. And a lot of that time is... him trying to stick to those core three values and... also figure out what they're going to look like in a galaxy that's changing because of Zakuul's presence. Having to grapple with the real implications of his loyalties and his values and what's it all really mean, is this truly important to him, how much of it is all a mask..? All those kind of questions he never really gave himself time to sit with in the thick of a career in Intelligence. Some of it gets reaffirmed, some of it involves some realizations on areas to maybe be more open to change, if not... get ready to actually make those changes...
Which... wow, turned into a whole ramble uhm. >.> Ahhem. I give him a lot of shit for being my fucked up lil guy who is a lil like a bag of marbles dropped across the floor, but he is... he is also just. sometimes my soggy cardboard box guy. And he does some growth in there. Just a lil bit though don't inflate his ego too much.

🖊 Tamigo
Want me to gush about my OCs? - ask game
to start off, I really need to force myself to get her through Ziost and finally start kotfe with her partially because, well, I want to do story (i'm just always bad when getting to it) but also I currently got maxed out alliances influences on both ray and preliara and let's just say I got a lot of alliance crates in my legacy bank I'd need to give out.
other than that, I just thought about how fun her interactions with theron were when I played through shadow of revan. again, this part of my canon isn't like completely figured out but tamigo would definitely be up for any of the pirate rishi stuff and she and theron can just very easily become friends. with lana it was a bit more complicated as she wasn't initially very trusting of her (she's also not a big fan of the empire in general. can't really blame her). eventually she also grew to like her more and they could probably also become friends if it then wasn't for her giving up theron to the revanites. during kotfe i do feel like she grows to trust her more again though since she eventually does join the alliance (i think she could easily work with hylo and with supply running etc)

how does aurena think of ana maite when they meet again? if i remember correctly ana maite kinda Claims to hate her but she cares about her deeply and sees some of aurena in jaesa and vette, so i'm interested to know how aurena thinks of her sister? or if you have any thoughts about aurena and ana maite you'd like to share?
ultimately, aurena is conflicted, too.
they weren’t exactly close as children despite being sisters (and twins), but she did love ana maite. she also pitied her because she saw how their mother tried to pit them against each other, and favored aurena’s strength in the force over ana maite’s prowess with lightsabers, thus neglecting ana maite to focus on her, and could feel how hurt and angry ana maite felt because of it. ana maite still took care of her and didn’t blame her, though. but then ana maite and aurena were sent from ziost to the korriban academy, and aurena refused to actually go once they reached a spaceport, and they flung harsh words at each other before ana maite continued without her. aurena stowed away on a smuggler’s ship headed for republic space.
when she sees ana maite again, she’s horrified. her appearance has vastly changed in the years since she left — dark side corruption warps the face that should mirror her own, showing aurena what could have been if she had stayed on course as their parents had planned — and she exudes so much anger, so much resentment. her aura is cold and unsettling, and it’s difficult to even look at her, but she’s too cautious to look away from her, too. and aurena is stubborn and conservative as a jedi master as a result of pushing away her childhood so hard, so she’s not exactly welcoming when they reunite. but she does still have feelings of longing for the sister that she used to have as a child, and misses her, and hopes that despite everything, she has some semblance of a life worth living. (she supposes being the emperor’s personal enforcer means she earned the power that she always craved, though. at least, until the emperor revives and turns on her, claiming that he’ll kill his wrath last).
it’s not until either of them break away from their extremes — ana maite no longer being imperial, aurena losing her hypocrisy of believing it impossible for sith and imperials to change despite her own defection — when they join the eternal alliance that they can sit down and actually talk through their childhood trauma and their rocky relationship. aurena is shocked to know that ana maite still cares about her despite leading her to believe otherwise, especially after learning that she was her main reason for not turning jaesa to the dark. she also wants to help ana maite with what she’s going through (defecting from the empire, separating from her husband, raising two daughters on her own, etc) and be the sister that she feels she couldn’t be for her in the past. and by that point, she’s also excited to be an aunt and get to know her nieces.
